We decided to grab dinner here last minute on Saturday night of our trip to Beacon. This seemed like a great option because it meant that my husband and I could order different meals but still eat them together. There were only 5 different food stalls plus the ice cream stall in the very front, however only 3 of the food stalls were open at 7pm on a Saturday. This is a small town, so I get it, but I was thoroughly surprised at this because of how crowded the entire town had been all weekend (it was truly the perfect weather to be out here!). The taco food stall had some Mac and cheese that I really wanted, but he was so overwhelmed with making a large order with only one person helping him that he literally told me to come back in 30 minutes to place my order. I ended up ordering the Pimento Grilled Cheese Sandwich from the burger place, where the guy (working solo) told me it would take about 30 minutes before it would be ready. We were in no rush, and it was DEFINITELY worth the wait!! The ooey gooey cheese paired with perfectly browned Texas toast satisfied my hunger after a long day of hiking and window shopping. My husband ordered the Paneer Kati Roll + Mango Lassi from the Indian food stall. He liked the roll, however we both decided that the lassi was average at best. Additionally, they served it with ice which was a huge disappointment (**being that my husband is from India, we have standards regarding Indian food). I'm giving 4 stars because the overall atmosphere of this food hall was not the best... Definitely NOT enough seating... They didn't seem to have anyone on staff taking care of the place, so the two tables that were empty when we arrived were extremely dirty (we cleaned one ourselves). They also didn't have napkins readily available and only 2 individual restrooms, despite having a bar in the back. Also, it was SO DARK inside... Scarce lighting which was not very pleasant or welcoming, especially since the sun was shining brightly outside. There is an outdoor patio, which is great, however because the weather was nice it was completely full. Final thoughts: this is a great place to grab lunch or dinner with a group of friends, especially if no one can agree on where to go. Walk in this place because I was looking for a public restroom, they have to! As soon as you walk in you pass multiple booths. One booth is an ice cream counter, now there is an Indian fusion restaurant, the next will have Carolina theme food. There's also a bar at the very end and a Vietnamese restaurant and a coffee shop. I grabbed some veggie Samosa, which were priced at $11.99. The whole menu looked great, but I didn't have room for anything else. SMS is were amazing, the presentation was amazing. I forgot to mention that I wanted them to go, but they quickly box them up for me. The flavors are everything taste I would expect them to. They give you a little dipping sauce, I really wish I had more of that red dipping sauce, it was spot for the dish. If I am ever back in the area, I am coming back here. read more

Cute little hall with a handful of different stalls (Indian, burger, sushi/asian). Got a spam and fried cheese sushi sandwich from Nami Yum Yum which was decadent. The pickled veggies and rice crackers it came with were a nice touch as well. Hudson Valley Food Hall is a great dining and bar destination in Beacon, NY. Located on the less busy section of Main Street, it allows access to street parking. At the time I visited, there were 5 restaurants (Tara, Miz Hattie's Southern BBQ, El Nica, Moreish, Dulce Cielo MX) , a coffee shop (Old Dhaka) and a bar (The Roosevelt Bar). I visited all of the businesses and the service was fine at them all. I arrived at about 1 pm and was surprised to find that at some places, there were food items that were not ready yet. These businesses will be reviewed separately. This food hall allows you to try foods from various cultures under one roof. For this reason, it makes a great dining destination when the weather isn't stellar. There are gender neutral restrooms. There is an ATM in case you want to pay with cash as some businesses impose a surcharge for credit cards and Apple Pay. What each business accepts varies, so look up each restaurant/bar individually. This was a fun little food and bar hall on Beacon Main St. My food itself was a 10/10, I chose the Dulce Cielo Mexican spot and the shrimp tacos were seriously some of the best tacos I've ever had. It took a while, but the woman operating the stand warned us that it would take some time, so that wasn't an issue. The hall itself is what loses a star; there were not many seats and it was SO WARM in there on a hot summer day. Slightly uncomfortable eating our food but it was a fun spot so would definitely recommend! read more

This is a review for Dulce Cielo MX located in the Hudson Valley Food Hall. Food: my wife got chicken tacos, and I got a chicken burrito. Then we took a very long time to cook, this was probably one of the most hearty and fulfilling burritos I've had in a while. I thought the guacamole was nice, and the shredded cheese was a very good touch. Aesthetic: the whole Food Hall is very nice setting. I had the agnolotti pasta with pork belly from Ciao Chow and even though I ordered the Cacio e Pepe mascarpone filling, when I brought it to my table to eat, there was green pea filling. I came here wanting to get macaroni and cheese which was very good. I also ate in three other places and had a drink. Miz Hattie's was very good and the prices were a steal for the portion of food. I had the food from El Nic but it needed more seasoning in my opinion. Seasoning is very subjective so I do recommend it because maybe someone else would say it was perfect. I would say the portion was good and I enjoyed the different textures of the food. I ordered the pork with cassava and crispy pork skin. I also went to the Mexican place which was one of my favorites. Now I did wait a long time for the loaded nachos it was with the wait. They also have an outdoor seating which is nice. I also had a drink from the bar and it was good. Dulce Cielo Max and Miz Hattie's were my two favorite eateries. I definitely recommend you stop by and try this food hall. read more

There's about 7 different venues and we stopped in here to see what was offered. I was so stuffed from lunch that it was all for the kids. It got a bit warm in the food hall since I don't believe they have air conditioning there. It might be a good idea to change that since it was 90 degrees the day we went. The kids got ice cream. Each got a scoop with sprinkles and gummy bears. It was from the first venue on the right when you walk in the front door and I can't remember the name of the ice cream vendor. Idk how else to describe this place but lit. It has awesome food options, a great artsy but not snooty atmosphere and the coolest bar in the back. The first time I came here was an evening with the bros and it seemed to be LGBT night which was even better!! Second time I stopped in with the pals during some holiday shopping for a food and drink break. I ordered the spinach and cheese momos which everyone needs to try. Handmade and you could tell the freshness oozing in every tasty bite- seriously a travel experience in my mouth. I paired this with the most amazing lavender cocktail (pricey) but worth once again, the taste experience. So much to offer and cuisine for every palate at the different food stands. We came with our friends on a Tuesday, expecting to try a variety of food. But, there was only one food stall open, a Himalayan dumpling place. (Delicious food, small portions, not inexpensive.) Asides from that, there was a cool bar in the back of the hall and a little shop on the second floor selling Himalayan goods/crafts. Perhaps there will be more stalls open later in the week? A couple stalls definitely looked like they had shut down already. There are a row of tables for patrons to sit and eat. Two large bathrooms service the hall. The bar in back has access to an outdoor patio, which should be really cool place to hang out in warmer weather. We're looking forward to coming back, as we've decided that this is a good central location to meet with our upstate friends. Hopefully there will be more stalls open next time. Would love to revise this review and be able to add more stars. read more

I kinda feel like the Food Hall is a summation of all of the least compelling components of a row of food trucks. I mean, minus the fact that you're indoors. The environment is not all that nice, the service pretty much across the board with all of the food places is slow, and on top of that you're basically going to wind up paying 40 bucks for 2 people to have lunch. I also don't want to ding the vendors too hard, but none of the current slate of grubslingers are all that great...I've tried most of them, and I think at this point I'm done with the food hall. Too many other places in town that are better, more comfortable, and better value for your dining dollar. I am completely sympathetic to the idea that Momo Valley started out in the food hall and is totally one of my fave places to eat in town, and maybe Nica or Mizz Hattie would be the same if they could just get out of that space and into a proper kitchen and all that. read more

The HVFH is a hidden gem. Make sure to give them a try. There are quite a few food options inside, including Elixxr cafe and a bar in the back. The place is clean and has bathrooms! We went twice during 1 weekend and each visit was well worth it. I can't wait to come back! read more

Second time eating at Tara, the food is delicious and you are served a large portion. Beef gyro came with a huge order of crinkle cut fries that had a wonderful spice on them, vegetable samosas were huge and some of the best I've had. Both the samosas and the gyro were spiced perfectly. Some places use way too much curry but not here. It was just perfect. All of the places to eat here are a little on the expensive side but portions are huge and you get what you pay for. read more

We weren't sure what to have for lunch while in Beacon, we were googling a few places and walked by the Food Hall. We figured we check it out. We walked in checked out all our options and decided on Tara. I was torn between the chicken gyro and steak gyro. My husband is a little weird with chicken so he decided on steak so I did the same. I wasn't really sure what to expect but man, was it delicious. Silly me didn't take a picture. The wrap was filled with lettuce, tomato, onion, tahini sauce and delicious little pieces of steak. We got a side salad with one and fries with the other. They were crinkle cut, my fave, seasoned deliciously. The orders also came with a little side of tahini incase you wanted more sauce and I really appreciated that. I love condiments. Plus it was so tasty. We loved our lunch. If we lived closer, I would order from there once a month! If we're ever in the area again, we will be back. read more

The fried chicken was delicious and juicy! You can tell they make it to order and the flavor was fantastic. The fries were crisp and warm from the deep fryer. The atmosphere was very friendly. The steak and Guinness pie was delicious and the pie crust was crisp. The mashed potatoes were delicious and silky smooth. The Bakewell tart from Moreish was extraordinary and next level in flavor and texture. The plaintain boat and arroz con pollo was also full of flavor. We will definitely be back! There were what look like many other fabulous options at this food court - but we went to Tara! We were thrilled with their fresh take - a combination of Indian and Middle Eastern cuisines. The food was absolutely delicious! We had the chicken samosas combo and the chicken and rice platter. Both dishes were so interesting and different and delightfully surprising - would never have thought of putting chopped tangy dill pickles in a salad - but it worked so well! The salads were lovingly dressed with a bright fresh ranch type dressing and lots of nicely chopped fresh veggies - a wonderful complement to the hot dishes - which were quite different than any Indian or Middle Eastern foods I've ever had. The samosas had perfectly light fabulously crispy wrappers like wonton shells and a gorgeous savory hot interior - none of the expected potatoes and peas or even spices that one might expect in a typical samosa But they were memorable and soulful nevertheless. The chicken and rice platter was equally surprising and sumptuous - the basmati rice was tasty - spiced with some more traditional Indian types of spices - but the chicken was not a tandoori type - rather, it had its own fantastic savory and deeply satisfying roasted flavor. The platter is served in a deep bowl - half of which is filled with fresh salad. And as one eats through, one encounters fabulous combinations and great textures - perfect chew on the rice, crunchy veggies, tender chicken. The dish seemed to get even more delicious with every bite - to the point that it is something I will probably crave in the future. Actually I am craving it now as I write this - and we had it earlier today!! The service was warm, welcoming, efficient and friendly. What am I reviewing here? The food hall as a whole? The individual vendors? For what it's worth: The hours of service/ days of operation is inaccurate, but whatever. No need to get all worked up. Momo/ Nepalese stand was closed and so was the ice cream spot upfront. One other place was closed (can't remember), and another spot had a sign saying it's waiting for a vendor to take over. Spot I would NEVER NEVER NEVER order from-- the ice cream spot. The teenagers who either work there, or maybe kids of the people who own the space?? No idea who these teenagers are, but they go behind that ice cream stand by the front door and touch the stuff indiscriminately. Very unhygienic. There's a door behind that spot that they go through too. Hopefully there's a bathroom where they wash their hands w soap bc it was pretty disgusting watching them reach in and out of the different toppings canisters. Gross. Gross. Gross. We got there just around noon and there was a couple sitting there enjoying their food. Great! However, the space beneath All the tables had bits of food. It didn't look entirely unswept, but definitely carelessly. The food bits were artifacts from another time and another meal. The whole food hall had a somewhat unclean aesthetic. The only two food stands that seemed well cared for had the most business. I enjoyed my bbq meal at Mizz (Miss?) Hatties. It was tasty and it hit the spot. I'd give this meal 4/4.5 stars. The stand also looked clean. The rest of the food hall gets a 2.5-3 for general messiness and dirtiness. This includes two of the other vendors I saw. The Greek/ Turkish stand had a young lady drag a black garbage around the food hall. Why? Just throw it out. Also, did you leave garbage in your stall overnight!??? I wouldn't come back here for those reasons. Not worth it! Please! Literally clean up your act! The teenagers sweeping, straightening, and spraying windex on the windows are just smearing dirt stains around. Quite ineffective and useless. read more
