Delicious food and great service! We got an appetizer and shawarma wrap both were delicious. (Forgot the name of the appetizer it was basically a sampler) Service was great. The waitress takes care of all the tables and orders so please be patient. She's very friendly, and nice! It's a small little place with probably 6-8 smaller tables then bar like seating. They would not seat us outside because we were a party of two and wanted to save their remaining table of four for other guests at the end of lunch which likely nobody was even going to be sitting there. After a long day of hiking and walking around shopping in Beacon, my wife and I settled on this lovely Palestinian-Arabic restaurant Ziatun for our dinner, and we were so pleased that we did. The service was warm and efficient, and our meal was absolutely splendid. We started with the sampler platter, which was perfect to try a bunch of things. Hummus, baba ghanouj, falafel balls were all spot on; I particularly loved the foul (bean dish), something I remember fondly from a trip to Egypt decades ago. I had the kofta burger, a well-seasoned, juicy mix of ground lamb and beef, with a side of za'atar fries that were just amazing. My wife tried the mixed grill kebabs: lamb, beef and chicken were all equally flavorful. We were too full by that point for dessert, but Ziatun's Arabic coffee with cardamom was the ideal closer for our meal and long drive home. read more

My wife and I walked up and down Main St. in quaint Beacon, NY today and stopped at Ziatun for lunch. As covid is still heavily in effect, we opted for take-out as this restaurant is on the small side. But the flavors and deliciousness of its food are on the big side! With a varied and appetizing looking menu, we opted for quickly prepared wraps, falafel for my wife and lamb shawarma for me ... both with baba ganoush ... and a side of fries. The wraps were soooo fresh and favorable, and the fries had a nice 'kick' and came with a special dipping sauce that was very yummy. We enjoyed it all at a picnic table a block away. As a side note, today's hostess was delightful as she helped us choose our delicious meal. We will definitely return (when things are back to normal) and enjoy a more proper meal inside so we can take in the intimate Palestinian ambiance. read more

The options on Main Street were a bit limited and we were so glad to have been able to get a seat here. We ordered the lamb kebab entree with rice and salad, shakshuka, falafels and the rose lemonade. The nice lady serving us was very friendly and attentive. We loved the falafels, it was super moist and flavorful and you could taste all the spices they used. The shakshuka was great as well very flavorful and the right amount acidity and saltiness. It was great with the pita though I wish the pita was a bit fluffier. The lamb kebab was good the meat was nicely flavored although a bit overcooked. Careful ordering on their website - we ordered and paid and quickly got a phone call that they didn't open for over an hour.. idk why their online system told us our food would be ready in 35 mins but glad they called. We showed up to pick up our order about 15 mins after the finally opened.. food was ok. They don't follow anything written in the special instructions on their website (or at least they didn't for us when asked to put stuff on the side, etc), the shawarma plate with "salad" is just chopped tomato (not a salad in the least) and when you order the $8 hummus - it doesn't come with any pita or anything. Take out. Small portions. Ordered veggies thinking I was eating healthy. There was 2 onion slices, pepper and zucchini. They were greasy and slimming served with mediocre hummus. Menu said that it comes with salad. No salad was given with food. The schwrama was inedible. What was eaten was bad and now my spouse feels sick. Sides are small containers that cost over $8. Checked out this place at 8:30ish on a Saturday night, the place is so cute and cozy and TINY I'm sure it is way busier during prime time. There were only 2 occupied table plus us. It's byob with a corking fee which is nice. The 2 other tables seemed to be there for a looooong time just socializing but the atmosphere was so relaxed that it was OK. I used the yelp free check in coffee which was not good and not hot. I asked for milk but they said they didn't have any, maybe milk doesn't go in Arabic coffee but it needed something haha. I got the sittos soup which I loved and was so hearty and tasty and would totally order again and I loved the bowl it came in. My boyfriend got the lamb shawarma and I got the falafel wrap with Zatar fries which were flavorful. He enjoyed his lamb, the wraps were nice and tightly wrapped and grilled so they weren't falling apart or anything. I liked his shawarma better than my falafel wrap. Friendly service from the one girl that was working the restaurant. If in the area I would return. Prices were also affordable and worth it. I honestly cringe when I have to pick up food here. There's only 1 polite and extremely nice waitress but when picking up to go orders if she is not working is so frustrating. What normally happens when a CUSTOMER gives you business is a smile and a thank you.. (considering all the other options that are easily available on main st) but not this place. It's like I'm an inconvenience to the register staff if I place an order. They are more interested in having conversation or checking their phones rather than greeting customers or even smiling at them!! I'd be taking out every night if it wasn't for the terrible manners I've experienced walking in there. And if the owners condone this behavior which I'll ask on my next visit, then I'll never go back or recommend anymore. Tiny TINY place but the vibe is good, the food great and the rosewater FRIGGIN DOPE! Went with my girl one afternoon and we tried an assortment of stuff-futur, extra side of falafel, and arayes. They were all good picky types foods that dont need forks and tasted great! It was enough to share but not an overwhelming amount that I was stuffed. For the prices of them, I was satisfied. But serious though, that rose water... they need to bottle it in gallons bc I would buy that alone! We stayed for a good almost 2 hours chatting and never felt rushed, or as if we needed to leave. It's a shame they don't have more outdoor, sidewalk space bc its such great 'chill' food that i would have loved to really veg out with it in the sun (not their fault tho that beacon doesnt have ample sidewalk space lol) I would definitely come back for food here and try other things on the menu. I went with my family and honestly missed the sign that said "wait to be seated" but missed it as the sign was facing the other way. Minutes turned into 45 minutes of waiting with my daughters and wife. Both waitress and helper ignored us multiple times while serving the others multiple times. It is a quaint restaurant on Main St in Beacon. The dining area is very small and makes for a more intimate atmosphere. The décor was subtle and with an air of Middle-East. The menu is simple, so it is easy for me to select my dish. Although we came on a Sunday night, and the restaurant was full, service was very quick. The food was good; the waitress and restaurant owner stopped by many times to check on us. I had the Mujaddara and a kibeh. They were both delicious. This place was fantastic! My boyfriend and I went for date night and we loved every minute of it. I ordered the falafel rice bowl and my boyfriend ordered the lamb rice bowl. For appetizers we also got the hummus and pita, as well as the za'tar fries. EVERYTHING was fantastic. I am a vegetarian, so this place def hit the mark on being veggie friendly.
