This feels like you're sitting in a sacred and spiritual kitchen, being served courses of love prepared with meticulous care and quality at a very good price. Mukta and his cooking family never disappoint and we love coming here, especially for the Pakora!

Indian vegetable fritter appetizer! Soooo good.

Delicious food, quaint place and terrific service. Everything was just perfect. Large portions and so many options for vegans. We had the tikka masala with tofu and the fishless tacos as well as the fried veggies appetizers. I highly recommend not passing this place up. my green tea was delicious as well and was offered to choose from an assortment of tea. Served in a large mug with fresh honey. I am looking forward to going back for the breakfast menu!! Definitely worth the drive if you are not close by. Nothing better than the perfect meal when you have been traveling all day and we found it. Not always easy as a vegan:)

The eggs are always perfectly poached, the spinach is fresh, and the hollandaise sauce is rich without being too heavy--it just melts together perfectly in every bite. But what really sets them apart are their homemade English muffins. You can taste the difference right away--crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and the perfect base for their Eggs Benny. Honestly, they're the best English muffins we've ever had anywhere. Beyond the food, the place just feels welcoming and consistent, which keeps us coming back again and again. If you're even thinking about breakfast here, don't hesitate--order the Eggs Benedict Florentine and thank me later.

He gave us the backstory of how Layla's came to be and the place is family owned. They are such lovely people who can cook! I feel terrible my review is long overdue. Better late than never! We had the Southwest Omelette with an English muffin, Iced Coffee, Veggie omelette, and an eggs with style (poached eggs with toast and home fries). First of all, they make their English muffins in house! It was so delicious and fresh and it paired very nicely with my omelette! Everyone enjoyed their meal and we left full, completely satisfied. The interior is cute and you could totally come here for brunch or gather with your friends to catch up. There's plenty of natural light coming in from the windows and I love that they're open for fresh air to circulate the restaurant! I love Layla's so much that I wouldn't mind making a trip with my friends just to have breakfast and lunch. The staff is amazing and they're super friendly. Yes, I know I mentioned this before but you can't get service like this everywhere. They respect other businesses in Wurtsboro and have stated they don't want to compete with The Coffee Way when I asked them if they plan on having different coffee drinks. They actually refer customers over there (which is down the street) which I think is very nice. I plan on visiting Layla's as often as I can. See you soon, Layla's!

I opted for the Challah French toast deluxe. This was 3 slices of French toast and sausage, bacon and ham. The waitress then asked me what type of eggs I wanted. I said I wasn't aware that eggs came with (not listed on the menu) this so I opted for scrambled to bring home to my dog. The coffee has an off putting taste, almost acidic. Okay, not everyone cleans their coffee makers well. Hubby said his omelette was okay but the potatoes lacked any flavor. My French toast was good and the sausage links were okay, however, the bacon and ham definitely tasted "off" I didn't bother taking it home for my dog because if it wasn't good, I wouldn't want him to get sick. Anyway - okay, it was a mediocre breakfast but what really ticked me off was when I looked at the check and a $3 charge was added for the 2 eggs I didn't even want. I'm not sure if the waitress was new and not familiar with the menu but -wow. Take from this what you will, I'm just giving you an honest review of our breakfast at 8:45 on a Wednesday morning. It's a very unpretentious little place and maybe they were just having an off day.

The eggs were perfectly cooked soft and buttery. And the sour dough toast with that perfect sour dough tang was the perfect edition. Even the coffee in the French press takes the coffee to another level. But talking about Oak & Reed flair the signature waffle was possibly one of the best things I have eaten. The waffle with that pearl sugar is the way a waffle should be made but then they have that waffle filled with Dutch caramel and that mascarpone on top is perfect. The tang, sweetness, butteriness, the crisp yet fluffy waffle it all was an equation for an amazing breakfast item. I could eat that every time I go. Truly amazing. The staff in Oak & Reed is always amazing attentive and kind. Live the open kitchen concept. Especially with my two year old currently in a Ratatouille kick so she wanted to see the chefs while she looked for Remy cooking. All in all Oak & Reed never disappoints.

Unfortunately I have to say this place was just meh!…read more This is one of my friends favorite restaurant, she even wanted to have them cater her wedding. So I was excited when we finally got a chance to try it. And here is where it may have been my fault, maybe I hyped it up too much. So the funny thing when we arrived at the restaurant and I saw another friend. She told me it was her first time and it wasn't good (this was a warning!) she said especially the chicken and waffles. So again maybe it's my fault because I didn't listen. My heart was set on the chicken and waffles and she was right. It was not good. Like how do you mess up chicken and waffles? It was lacking all types of flavor. It was bad. Why 3 stars than? Because their Spicy Pork Congee was amazing! It's an Asian rice dish and everything that lacked flavor in the chicken and waffles was made up in this dish. The problem? This is only an appetizer. It needs to be an entree, which would mean making it a larger portion. It was fantastic! They also had a decent beer selection which we got. The inside of the restaurant is cute. It has so much potential I just think maybe a revamp of the recipes. But maybe another dish would be good. We came for brunch so I don't know how their dinner menu is. I will probably give them another chance because how amazing the congee was I know they have potential to be great.
