I love the Carlsbad Zara they have everything and always restocking ,employees are wonderful and very welcoming .

Bad reviews here are because of management. Manager said no return allowed for shorts I wore 1X.

Poor customer service and rude management. Purchased a shirt for my daughter that was defective. When I brought it back to the store within 1 week, the manager Alan said they wouldn't take it back because it had been washed. I calmly explained to him that it was washed according to the instructions on the clothing label, and was already defective before my daughter got a chance to wear it. Clothes have been touched and tried on at the store so I feel more safe to wash before having my kid wear the clothes. Alan was dismissive and rude, raised his voice and repeatedly told me he wasn't going to take it back because the item is "used." They should not have sold products that are defective then force the customer to keep it. I don't not recommend this store. They were rude and offered zero resolution. read more

Very rude customer service I asked to try one pair of pants on and keep in mind the store is closing in 30 minutes and I ask can I use the fitting room and the person rudely tells me No where closing and I go ask another employee same thing but ok as I'm leaving the store I see the employee letting a lady use the fitting rooms with multiple I teams . This was one of the more disappointing Zara store experiences I've had. One employee in particular stood out, not just for her attitude, but her overall presence around 4:30pm. She had reddish-brown hair and carried herself in a way that felt dismissive and uninterested, as if helping customers was beneath her. I had planned to purchase more, but after asking a simple question and getting no real help, I decided to return the products I had despite its value. The lack of support made it clear it wasn't worth continuing the search. On the other hand, husband had a completely different experience at the same time, she was polite and approachable with him, which made the contrast in how I was treated even more noticeable. Another customer in line also seemed to catch on. Funny enough, we ran into that same shopper later at another store in the mall and ended up talking about how awful the service had been today. I was driving from Encinitas to do a return and see some items in person so I wanted to check what time they closed online. To my surprise I found out they have a 2 star review. I was shocked because my experience has usually been "ok" but never negative enough for a 2 star review. When I was greeted, shooed around, and went to do a return. I saw the girl that normally helps me (red hair) and was excited internally to see her since she's always so nice and pleasant. Instead this African-American girl with piercings went behind the counter and waved me over. I could already tell a slight attitude and thought I'd just be nice and pleasant since I'm doing an easy return. Long story short, she told me out of the things I want to return I couldn't return the belt based off it not being attached to the tag it came with. I told her I didn't rip anything and was very careful so I could easily put it back, she still insisted it's not in its original packaging. While she was returning my shirts I put the belt back in 5 seconds and showed her it was back how it was shipped to me. She still refused and said it's not in its original packaging. I asked her, if I check the other belts and compare it to mine, it's going to be completely different? She said yes, so I went over and checked (photo attached). Besides the belt itself being in Euro not dollars, which I can't help, it was exactly the same. I went over to the manager to show him the belt, he already had a "policy" pulled up, I told him the packaging is the same, he said "but you wore the belt it's bent due to signs of ware". The belt didn't fit me so I did not wear it, I asked him if I could show him the other belts, which he saw my belt was in better condition then the ones hanging. Which shows unless people wore all the belts on the rack, it comes this way. Ultimately he agreed to do the return, but this whole interaction had me shocked and surprised. Luckily the original girl who usually helps me ended up helping me, and like always she was so nice. I even explained the situation to her and she said, "don't worry I saw the interaction with the manager and I'll take care of this." At the same time one of her coworkers asked "what happened, what's up?". Luckily the girl is professional enough to say, "nothing it's fine". So at least like most situations they can talk about it once I'm gone, which is fine by me. I would have given my experience a one star, but thanks to the girl with the red hair, I'm giving it 2. She's literally the only reason I'd come back. Just unfortunate the company isn't aware of their horrible reviews, or if they are, they won't do anything about it. I've visited Zara in Europe so many times (Italy the most) and the customer service there is far superior to the Zara's here. I send so many friends here, I'd think twice now because I'd hate them to have the customer service most people have (negative). Based off of all the other reviews. read more

This store has horrible reviews with good reason. When I purchased a dress a week ago I had a rude employee to start. I hadn't checked the dress before buying it because WHY tf would I?? I would expect things to be put out in good condition. Went to return the dress because it was $107 and I had no intent on wearing it considering I wore something else for the event I had purchased it for. They told me it looked like it had been worn so they couldn't offer me any sort of return or exchange.....yes because I would wear a dress with the tag on and visible to a nice event...be serious. After speaking with the manager he told me that they would never put out an item that looked faulty (there's multiple reviews of that happening) and that if I'm insinuating the situation is on them then he doesn't know what to tell me. Idk who the new manufacturers are but on every piece of clothing I tried on there were unfinished seams, or thread sticking out on the seams. And the prices have SIGNIFICANTLY gone up. Always Dreading to go at a Zara store. As per other reviews, always with long lines, to pay , to return items bought online ( and they do not take their own Zara box from you , best to just use some grocery store bag) and to try clothes . Shopped an Online item. Was impressed that it only took 2 days to get it shipped to me. When I spent time to closely watch and monitor availability online then finally have it , purchased the right size . Eager to receive via Mail . Then the item I received was the wrong size . Called customer service and now told the sz I originally purchased is now SOLD OUT. Steven said that he will send an URGENT internal email to resolve issue and he hopes that it can be shipped and get to me tomorrow. But, of course he can't guarantee bec he does not know when the right size will be available again. ‍ Still waiting for an email from Zara . Going back to the Zara box when returning, not sure why Zara store will not take it back. To Recycle their own box. Zara is huge with recycling, promotes this all over their website and materials they use . And workers in Zara is a hit and miss, not all are welcoming, not genuine or not even trying ? This store has the absolute worst customer service. on one occasion I had been shopping around for 20 minutes selecting different items to try on because I was looking for a dress for a special occasion. When I asked an associate to try something on she said the dressing rooms were closed. I asked how long until they would be opened and she said they were closed because they didn't have enough people to work them, yet she and several other employees were clearly just walking around the store doing other things. She told me I could buy all the items I was carrying and then return what didn't work. I'm so glad I didn't end up doing that!! Today, I tried to return a jacket I bought there a few weeks ago for the special occasion. I had misplaced the receipt but still had the tag and jacket had clearly not been worn. They said there was nothing they could do to help me besides switch it out for the same jacket. Even though I bought it in their store they couldn't look up my card. I purchased a pair of pants. I needed to return them because I didn't end up wearing them for an event that I had. They still had the tags on and were in perfect condition. Unfortunately, I did not have the paper receipt and never received an email receipt. I had the card I purchased it with but they wouldn't do my return. Not even for store credit. they have a great selection, ever changing to the newest styles, lovely helpful people working at the Carlsbad store, and it is always clean. there is plenty of room to shop and they have many dressing rooms. pick up on line orders are easy and returns are quick as well. Zara designers are ahead of the fashion game and the fabrics are quality. we have shopped at many Zara stores in the US and all over Europe and it's always great to come back to this one. read more

Visited this location three times. Never been greeted by the employees. They will walk around you without acknowledging you. The two times I've requested assistance they just cannot be bothered. I needed a specific size of pants for my son which they did not have in stock. Collin, who was not visibly productive, suggested we try another store. I'm asked if he could call a nearby location to verify they had it in stock before I made an unnecessary trip. He acted bothered. I gave them a third try today but it was more of the same. Customer service is absolute garbage. I came in a for order pick up today and employees look at me like I'm inconveniencing them. No greeting at all just " go to any fitting room". I mentioned I'm here for an order pick up and she just walked right past me. Why work here if you don't want to help people or knowing you have to interact with people. This specific Zara has the worst customer service. The dressing room attendant on two occasions has been very rude, it's seems like myself and my children have been an inconvenience to her. The cashier is also very unfriendly and not welcoming. Know one is knowledgeable and on autopilot. I'm surprised at the overall rating of this location because staff has always been kind and very helpful to me every time I've visited. In fact, I've experienced a far lower level of attitude at this location compared to the UTC version. Sorry La Jolla. The store is always organized and it's pretty spacious and easy to navigate through. Although I did notice that La Jolla was slightly better stocked, I never find anything I like their but always do at this location. Strange but true. When I was looking for a top in my size, a gal went out of her way to find it for me which I greatly appreciated. I found a ton of great deals on my last couple of visits which made my heart happy. I found I wear my Zara clothing much more than anything else in my closet due to the timelessness of their fashion and exceptional quality. I subtracted a star because of a male employee who kept coming back into the fitting room when my husband was trying on clothes but never actually helped him. Just watched him like a creep. No need to get all "Loss Prevention" on him for absolutely no reason when you didn't behave that way with anyone else. Jerk. Overall, the remainder of the staff has been awesome and I always leave content. They always greet me and are super helpful. It's unfortunate that others did not have the same experience. read more

I've shopped at Zara about six times. First time was great. Sales associate was helpful and attentive. Fast-forward to today, and little did I know that first experience was the exception, not the rule. The employees are arrogant, judgemental of the customers based on their looks and how they dress, and have no customer service skills. As I was standing in line waiting to checkout, two employees were backstabbing another employee loud enough so I could hear. Another customer finished her transaction and as she walked away the employee who processed her purchase eye-balled her up and down with a disapproving look as if to say, "Honey, you don't have any business wearing that outfit!" The prices are decent for medium quality, but I won't ever shop there again. The lack of customer service, crappy attitudes, and poor training of the employees far outweigh any "deals" that may be had. One last thing. If this review doesn't dissuade you from shopping there, better bring a snack, you'll be standing in line a long time if you're buying something. read more

The employees (two males) forgot their names, stated they are trained to check all products. What I don't understand is they have thousands of people try on their clothings and consider them "unworn" but when you buy it, it's automatically considered worn by the customer??? Very nice and clean store located in Carlsbad shoppes on El Camino road. Kids section is connected to women's then men's. I like so the store is laid out and staff is very friendly. Lots of good deals and cute outfits for kids. Good quality as well. Currently still have the old ZARA logo not the scrunched overlapped ones. They even have scents for kids to choose from. Ranging from hello kitty perfume to Star Wars etc. I tried them all and they are surprisingly good even for kids. Would be coming back again especially the kids section. Women's section was a bit disorganized. Lots of styles but not many sizes to choose from. Also good deals but like their new logo I have to squeeze into them even getting the larger size. Oh well. Still nice to look at new styles and get wardrobe ideas for casual or formal wear. read more
