Located in the Carlsbad Outlets, I found myself at this store looking for clothing for my niece and nephew, both of whom are older kids and too big for the clothing sold at Baby Gap Factory a couple doors down. I hadn't been into a Gap store in decades. It was my go-to store for clothing when I was in my early 20s, before everything had gigantic logos plastered on them. This store seemed to have a lot of selection and was well organized. The discounts seemed to be pretty good. Employees were helpful and found an additional discount for our purchases (shorts and a shirt) as we checked out. If the Gap is your style then this store is worth a visit. read more

I just don't understand this store. It's an outlet store, so prices should be lower than the regular store, but that's not the case. My husband has great luck here, but I don't. Nothing ever fits here. For example, I try on a medium shirt and it's hanging all over me, then try on a small and it's too tight. This happens with pants as well. Maybe it's just easier for men. Anyway, long lines are a guarantee. Wish I could find something I like there. read more

I came to return something on Sunday 6:44pm. I was such in a hurry and with Sunday traffic I was happy I was there before 7:00pm. When I got there, the doors were locked and two employees talking and laughing next to the doors. So I tried to knock asking if they would let me in just to do a return and go, since they close at 7:00 and it was 6:44. They totally ignored me and laughed looking at me and started talking to the rest of the employees, two other girls came and saw me there by the door and started laughing at me. Very upsetting. Very frustrating and sad that they were so mean and rude. Several people were there looking at what was going on because, also because a couple came running to buy something really quick, and everyone agreed that they needed to be reported. I will call costumer service but I know they probably won't do anything about it. Hopefully the company knows that their employees are working less time than what they are supposed to and trained them to treat the costumers respectfully. read more

I really like a great sale so when I spotted the 70% off sign in the window, I had to go in. Full of sales racks and what appeared to be a good inventory, I thought I was in clearance heaven. That's when the dream ended and the nightmare began. We struggled the entire time we were here to find the right styles and sizes. When we needed a sales associate, there wasn't one to be found. This store was just a disorganized mess. Although we found a few nice items, I'm not sure it was worth looking through all those racks. There just wasn't enough staff to handle all the customers that came in for this huge sale. I'm hoping this was just an off day because I love finding great clothes for the kids at reasonable prices. Shopping here is like going to an Old Navy. The clothes here are noticeably worse quality than stuff at the actual mall Gap store. It's usually pretty tossed up, with dishevled shelves everywhere and jeans disorganized. It gets crowded and lines are long. The only reason I bother, is because there are usually coupons you can use on top of the deals. I also come here for sleep shirts. They're pretty thin so that's great for staying cool in the summer. read more

Great prices, but I don't like that they don't carry men's pants larger than 38. Don't body shame me like that, put an honest warning sign on the outside saying you don't want fat guys in your store and we can shop online instead. Don't make me go in and look through rack after rack and then have to ask... Tommy Hilfiger across the street, a more prestigious name by the way, they carry 42 waist men's pants and the quality is higher. They also stack their pants by size so it's easy to find the right size without having to ask some slim little Southern California girl for help. Now I have a better idea of how normal sized women feel walking into Victoria's Secret. I also don't think the Gap people know what the word, iconic, really means. Sad! I have been a huge fan of Gap for a very long time! Tonight I walked out in the middle of my transaction out of principle! On a bit of a budget while shopping tonight so I was adding up my finds as I was adding them to the bag. When I got to the register I was shocked to see that a hoodie I wanted was $10 more than the sign said. So I told her what the sign said and she walked over to the shelves with me. She told me that even though all the hoodies on the self are actually full zip up hoodies, select colors are $24.99. Might I recommend changing that sign to read "styles starting at $14.99" or "prices vary by color". Whichever you prefer but, telling me that I chose the one full zip up hoodie that was the higher rate, just not right since your signs are contradicting. So instead, I left in the middle of my purchase and told the cashier that I didn't want any of it because that's just not good business. Very disappointing. I was really looking forward to that new perfume and one of those sweaters was soon to be my favorite! PS. If your going to give everyone in the store an extra 15% off their purchase, don't waste paper by handing out the coupons. read more

When you are at the Carlsbad Premium Outlets and have grandkids with you that you want to spoil with some nice fitting clothes, the Gap Factory is a one good choice. We did and were greeted at the door by staff handing out 10% off coupons but you have to spend $75. This place got crowded and so we all had to keep our mask on. With three kids this number of $75 was easily surpassed. The kids were happy and I was making sure that all the discounts were given me, including the 10% off. We did, and I was actually glad that we didn't linger any longer. It was time to hit other stores. The Gap Factory was otherwise a good place to shop for the kids. Let me start off by saying they had a great selection of clothing and the younger staff were amazing, but one specific staff member was rude and insensitive. She was rushing us on our shopping because it was 5 minutes till closing, then a younger couple walked in and she was very rudely raising her voice at them while saying "we close at 7, out now". I still bought the clothes I was shopping for because the other staff members were very sweet but the older women with hair in a bun or ponytail was making me rethink my decision of ever shopping here again. I'm sure you guys have got many complaints of this women and I don't think she should be fired but maybe just review company policies. read more

I used to love shopping at GAP Stores, but have watched their prices on jeans and their other casual selections climb up and up. I am so grateful for outlet stores because I'm still able to pick up those brand name clothing and at a cheaper price tag. This store is located at the Carlsbad Premium Outlets and is one of the stores I always walk into while browsing through the Mall. Correction, I always have to make a mad dash into their store so my daughter will stop staring at the mini train outside yearning to take it for a spin. Anyway, they always have a nice selection of casual tops, dresses and jeans at marked down prices that are great for budget-friendly shoppers. I have worn Gap and Banana Republic jeans for years, so know exactly what size to look for along with their cuts that work best with me. I'll be heading to Carlsbad in the near future and will definitely be hitting up this outlet store while I'm out there. read more

The Baby Gap Outlet store has amazing prices. On top of the already marked own prices, there usually is an additional 20% or more sale going on. The quality of clothes is exactly the same as the retail stores. It might be a season or two behind but it does not make a difference at all. Yes, there are cheaper stores to shop at but the quality would not be the same. I have two kids and have noticed their cheaper clothes do not last as long. Those tend to shrink, fade and tear quicker. read more

This Baby Gap has AMAZING merchandise and prices!!! I always make a stop here when visiting Legoland. The last time here I got two layered t-shirts: one was with Curious George and the other with Where the Wild Things Are, both characters from two of my favorite children's books and at the BEST price... I can't resist children's clothing and was looking for some good quality basic shirts and bodysuits for my infant son. I couldn't find the right sizes but found some nice long sleeve cotton shirts in basic solid colors with their signature tiny bear logo embroidered on the pockets. DH wanted me to take a picture of my son to send to his friend from USC and DH who attended CAL (rivals in everything except academics) ;p For my older son, we got a navy and white striped Nautical hooded thermal and a grey and blue striped sweatshirt. I would look carefully if you are picky about stitching because some items look better than others. The girls merchandise is even more amazing and EVERYTHING was on sale :p read more

I shop here fairly often but have never needed to make a return until the other day. I assumed I was out of luck because I had just missed the return date but Manager Ayesha (forgive me if I spelled incorrectly) was BEYOND kind. She said I caught her on a "good day" but truthfully I couldn't envision her having anything less than a good day. She was so friendly, cheery and accommodating, and I could tell she sets a fantastic standard for her staff. I'm used to shops these days being understaffed, unfortunately that's just the way of the world now. But I approached the line, there were 2 associates already helping customers, and another staff member on the sales floor immediately stopped what she was doing to come over and assist me, making her the third staff member at the counter. Seriously so impressive, I didn't even wait for 30 seconds before she arrived to assist. Great experience at this location and I will certainly be returning for the excellent service and the great deals. read more

As others have said, good quality at a decent price. The selection is not as extensive as other baby stores in the mall but you can always find something cute and a good deal. The clothes tend to run a bit large, but that's usually not a problem since kids can grow into them. On my last visit, I found some cute sweater dresses for my twins that were originally priced at $35 ea, on sale at 60% off, plus I got a AAA 20% discount on top of that. First thing I noticed when I walked into this store was how cluttered it is. Not only with clothes, but with people too. There were a lot of employees here trying to keep everything looking neat and organized and they seemed to do a good job of it. They are having a 50% off sale this weekend so that made it busier than it normally is. We did not buy anything or interact with any staff. The store is pretty big. We were able to navigate the stroller in the store here, but had a little bit of a hard time getting around the people. read more

Ok, so they have a nice selection of items but I don't know that in regards to price that it is much less than any other non-factory Gap store. I do have one major issue. I live about 40 minutes away from this store so before purchasing items for my toddler (since I was unable to try things on at the time of purchase) I verified with the employee that I would be able to return items, if necessary, to a regular, non-outlet/factory gap store. They confirmed that I would be able to. I tried returning a pair of pants to the gap kids store in fashion valley and was told that I was not able to do so. I then called the outlet store and asked them to confirm whether or not I could return at fashion valley and they again assured me that I should be able to and that all the employee at FV had to do was override the sale and give me a store Credit card in that store and the pants back to the outlet. Well, I then called fashion valley back and explained this to them and again, they told me this was not correct. I'm not sure where the misinformation is coming from but regardless if it is from the regular Gap (fashion Valley) or the outlet, it is pretty poor customer service to have a customer bouncing around like this. Had I known I would've had this much trouble, I would not have purchased items from the outlet without knowing 100% if they fit for my toddler in that moment. Due to this, I will likely not be shopping there again. I feel like at the end of the day, since I purchased items from the outlet store, it would have been nice for a manager there to get involved and call down to Fashion Valley and try to resolve the issue. read more

This was my first visit to the Baby Gap Outlet store and I think the prices are pretty decent. I thought they would be marked down more but for two items; a cute jean skirt and a cotton t-shirt, it was just under $40 so an average of $20 per item. I didn't find anything discounted additionally like others have found. Boo! The girls clothes here are just too cute to pass up and I just hope that they last long enough for her to wear them until she grows out of them. Fingers crossed. The Gap outlet had a ton of great merchandise when I shopped here on Saturday. I stopped myself from looking around too thoroughly because I had a feeling I would find more things to buy than my credit card could support. Jeans, dresses, sweaters, jackets, dress pants, boxer shorts, pajamas, polo shirts, body lotion and eau de toilette, umbrellas, belts...you name it, they have it. And prices are very reasonable. Every time I come here I'm treated like an inconsiderate retail costumer. On one visit I was shopping on rack when all of a sudden an employee walks up and pushes it away. I didn't even realize it was a mobile rack. She didn't even get me a second thought. The next I was trying to return an item that I bought online and was helped by a clerk that was irritated that I didn't know that if you buy something from GAP.com it cannot be retuned to Gap Factory. The next time I'm at this outlet, I won't be wasting my time shopping at this Gap. I stood in line trying to purchase something and waited for what felt like an hour and no one even bothered to help me ring up my item. It was early in the morning so it wasn't busy at all. There was only one cashier open and she was busy helping a customer for the longest time. She could have at least acknowledged I was there in line, and maybe have said that she would be right with me. But nope, no acknowledgment, no eye contact, no service!! I love this Gap Outlet store! I visited this store with my mom and sister a few days before I came to Korea. I was shopping for the summer/fall season so I spent quite a bit at this particular location.. around $400? I liked the selection of clothes they had, they had my size in most of the items that I wanted, and there was an awesome sale going on in addition to their already reduced prices. The only reason I'm taking off a star is for the cashier. I understand that he was probably tired and all, but I didn't even get a simple 'hello.'
