I used to shop for myself at Tilly's until I got too old. Lol. Now I shop there for my daughter. Today Tyler assisted me with getting some shoes for my daughter. She hit a huge growth spurt and I wasn't exactly sure how shoes should fit on her, and he was exceptionally helpful. He got us out 3 different sizes, laced them up, felt her toes and spent time explaining to me how to tell if the shoe is a good fit for a growing kids foot. I was super impressed with his customer service. He was so patient even though the place was slammed and tons of other people were coming at him. I cant remember the name of the gal who helped us at the dressing room, but she was super upbeat and helpful. She helped us grab different sizes and styles of clothing. I have seen reviews where people knock the store for it's prices. They must not understand that this store sells name brand items and is consistent with other stores selling the same items. I understand not everyone can afford it, but it's not fair to rate the store low because of its prices when they are fair. There are plenty of stores with less expensive options available. This Tilly's is always super clean, well stocked, and has super customer service oriented staff. I also love the Moolah bucks you rack up and can use towards future purchases. Visited to find a pair of sandals that were available at this location according to website. Asked the heavyset brunette salesgirl if she could locate the shoes only to be told that if they weren't in the shoe area she pointed at in the back, they didn't carry them. When I mentioned that their website said they had them there, she asked which location of store and when told her it was that store, she proceeded to say it wasn't that location (which it was, she just didn't seem to know the address of the store she worked at. After asking another employee in front of the first salesperson, she shuffled off, knowing she messed up. The shoes were promptly located and brought for me to try on. After asking second sales person the price of shoe, which were on sale online, was told the shoe was not on sale. When mentioned that shoe was on sale on their website, was then told they would price match. Walked out without purchasing anything. Never thought to shop at this store in the past and after this experience, could see why there were no other customers in the store. read more

Currently (1/2022) this location is operating at 15 person capacity. Meaning only 15 ppl allowed in the store. The idea an arbitrary number w/no science to support it stops COVID is a degenerate concept. So if 16 people are in your establishment COVID attacks. CDC say: 1. Went to this location in Oceanside tonight to return a backpack I had bought at the Encinitas location the other day. I had used my 20% off coupon that Tilly's emailed me which is supposed to be valid through May 2nd, 2021, and since I was returning the backpack I wanted to use my coupon on a new pair of sandals after I returned the backpack. I was told by the manager Jack (very rudely) I could no longer use my coupon unless it was an even exchange with the same type of backpack, and I could not apply my 20% coupon to the sandals I was wanting to purchase. I asked Jack if there was anyone he could talk to higher up in management than himself to see if an exception could be made since my original transaction was now voided out and returned; hence I now should have a good 20% coupon to use on another purchase. Jack said "NO" but I could call customer service and talk to them. I proceeded to ask Jack if he could call them for me, and he sternly and rudely said NO so I asked him to give me the number to customer service so I could make the call myself. I completed my return without the new pair of sandals. I went to my car and called customer service to which I was helped by 3 separate people the first woman was very helpful, but hung up without sending me a new 20% off coupon or getting my name and number to follow up with me. The second guy who I did not catch his name was extremely UNHELPFUL and told me I could not be issued another coupon since I used my coupon on an item that was returned. I asked this customer service guy to speak to a manager and he HUNG UP THE PHONE on me. The 3rd person I talked to when I called the customer service department was named Jason and he was very helpful, courteous, and transferred me to a manager named Tanya. She had Jason call the Oceanside Tilly's store to have them honor my 20% discount on the sandals I was wanting to purchase which I appreciated very much, but this all took a lot of unnecessary time out of my night that I did not appreciate for being a long time customer of Tilly's. In addition, when I went back into the store to purchase my sandals the manager who was a woman was unfriendly and standoffish during the transaction. I love Tilly's, and shop here often for myself, my son, and my boyfriend, but after tonight I will be taking my business elsewhere due to the rudeness I received both in store and via the customer service line that I had called this evening. I really like this Tilly's because it is big and organized. The staff are helpful but not in your face. You can breathe when you shop or just want to look around. Plus they have mics to communicate, so for me to be talked to by 3 or more sales people is unacceptable and rude. NOTE: NO BATHROOMS FOR COSTUMERS. Once you get up to the line, besides the little rope, you get a stagnated line going in and out of the isles. Went to EXCHANGE an item i purchased, a DAY after i bought them, for a bigger size because they hurt my feet and she claimed they were ruined. There's so much to choose from in this store yet so much to not leave the store with, does that make sense? There's a selection of surf and skate brands for women, girls, men, and boys. Tilly's also has some off-brands that must be specific to the store but those are typically the ones that make it onto the clearance rounders; hit or miss at best in terms of cuteness and desirability. I find myself in this shop because they sell Young and Reckless merch for women, but sadly not very much of it! I'm able to find super cute accessories here (earrings, necklaces, headbands, ect) and that's a good thing...right? Skateboard selection is decent. Customer service could be better. Vibe of the store is kind of: we don't really care too much. I've had to wait a while to get a fitting room opened up for me and while the associates that do eventually come around to unlock a door for me do apologize and are quite sweet, still stinks to have waited so long and awkwardly. Getting any kind of help on the floor is difficult, so best try to acquaint yourself with where things Han style: solo. Always have a conversational and pleasant sales person to check out my items though. If they could just put that on the sales floor that'd be awful nice. read more

This Tilly's location has exceptional customer service, especially for a store maintained, for the most part, by a bunch of kids. I've shopped here quite a few times and it has always been a pleasurable experience. This store is usually pretty organized with a great stock in all sizes. If you have questions the employees are always willing to answer, or find the best possible answer/solution. On top of all that, these employees will also engage in friendly conversation, which in my opinion is a breath of relief when a sales associate is genuinely talking to you and not trying to sell you something. I'm with Joanna on this one. I went into the store and in the 3 short minutes I was in there, I had 4 employees interrupt my shopping. Hi, I'm so and so. Can I help you find something? Such and such is on sale. If you need anything, my name is ...." I just wanted to browse around the store and look at shoes but couldn't do that because every single employee had to bother me. I told the third guy that I barely walked in and he is the third person to ask me that. He continued talking. Good store for teenagers. I didn't really think any of the clothes were that cute actually, but whatever. I am not a teenager. I got a $100 gift card for my BF"s 14 year old daughter's bday. The store, layout and all that is clean and organized. However, the only time I ever went there my boyfriend was standing directly in front of the employee behind the counter, obviously waiting to pay, and he ignored him entirely. A couple minutes go by and the employee finally acknowledges him and says "the line is over there." He then had to get in a line behind another customer, who was also being ignored. Super annoying. I went into Tilly's Oceanside to get something for my teenage nephew for his birthday and while we were there my husband and I decided to look and see if they had any Dickies for him, which were in the right rear of the store. I have two babies, hence a double stroller, so I was checking out the store to see how best to navigate my stroller to the back when a clerk/sales assoc asked, "can I help you?" I told him I was just trying to figure out how to get back to the men's section and he looked around and responded, "Uh. Yeah. Good luck...NOT gonna happen." With as much attitude as Paris Hilton. No, "let me help you" or anything. The store is DEFINITELY NOT ADA compliant, it's COMPLETELY impacted with racks and crap EVERYWHERE. I did, in fact make it to the back (pushing a few racks slightly out of the way) and when the clerk saw my not small husband he made some sheepish comment and was OVERLY helpful from there on out (to the point of ridiculous) but when I told my husband (at the first moment the clerk had left us alone) what had happened, he found the clerk and handed him everything he'd picked out and told him that we would not be spending any money at that store. I'll never go back. The clerk was so pretentious, completely unhelpful, and the store is a complete cluster of junk. read more
