Stopped in here yesterday for a friend to buy some shirts for her son. I dont know why, but there was an orange shirt on the wall that caught my eye... with a big black heart and it said CALIFORNIA. Had it not said that, I would have bought it in an instant. Something about living in CA, wearing a CA shirt... its too touristy for me. There was another shirt by it, with guns that had flowers shooting out of them. I needed that shirt. Of course, they were buy one get one half off, so for about 5 minutes I talked myself into just getting the CA shirt. The girl said - you can wear it as your errands shirt... I decided if nothing else, I could wear it as my workout shirt... so yeah, I bought it. Cheesy. The girl working was very nice, another customer tried to cut in front of my friend and I in the checkout line, and she stopped it right away. Although they may sometimes have good deals.. they are not kind and there cash registers can almost never fully process a return. Every time I or a family meme we of mine have gone in there to return something the system freaks out and they end up giving us cash when we have the receipt and the card it is purchased on. On top of that I made a purchase and the piece of clothing was to big I tried to return it and I asked many people for help and people would respond and then not come back to me.. I began to get really frustrated and asked for a manager and no manager every came to me and tried to help! Horrible customer service! read more

I have never been greeted or asked for help at this store. Total lack of customer service even though there are 2-3 associates on the floor. Why is the music so loud?! I am hearing impaired and have to turn off my hearing aids because the music is so loud! I bought a hoodie last night for my nephew & needed to exchange it for another size. I waited in line with all the other Black Friday shoppers to do the exchange. When I got to the register the sales associate told me they weren't doing exchanges. They also couldn't hold the hoodie that I needed. I had to buy the correct size & was told to come back tomorrow to do the exchange which will now be a return. I left the store with two hoodies & have to fight parking again tomorrow because they wouldn't help me. They did not have signs posted that customers couldn't return or exchange merchandise. It's a shame this is how they treat customers at the register because the associates on the sales floor were helpful. They shouldn't be lumped in a 1 star review with their co workers who have no idea what customer service is. read more

Signs up all through the store to buy ANY merchandise and get ANY other second item half off. My son spends an hour finding clothes just to find out (at the register) that the signs are false advertising. You must match clearance with other clearance and regular priced with other regular priced. Manager said if you look very closely at the bottom of the signs, in very small print, you will see the rule written. Unbelievable! Later I talked to my niece who was really upset because the same thing had happened to her. I have four kids and will never shop at a PacSun again. Oh, and manager (guy around 30) was a real jerk about it. ABSOLUTELY horrible customer service. read more

Agreeing with Rachel's review, the same thing happened to me. I went in to exchange shorts I got the wrong size for online, and the employee ranted about how I shouldn't shop online because he will lose his job. After he checked for my correct size and couldn't find it, he said the closest store was almost a 30 minute drive and I should make the drive rather than buying online. After I denied, he seemed hesitant to return my money, then said he'd check in the back again. He came back with my size in the wrong pair of shorts, and finally gave back my money. I'm disappointed because there's a few employees there that are kind, but the one I talked to was rude and unhelpful. read more

The best retail employee I have ever had the pleasure of meeting not to mention he was managing the whole store on his own! My go-to store in the Carlsbad area. Always a good selection of styles, super clean store, good vibes, sales people are friendly but not pushy, and they always have good sales going on. Also excellent customer service when it comes to returns, exchanges, out of stock, etc. Checkouts sometimes slow, but overall they don't need to change a thing. read more

I love this outlet store because of their great deals, however their employees are awful! I had about 6 things to try on, after asking an employee to use the dressing room they replied, "it's full" without even checking. After waiting for a room for about 10 minutes I knocked on one of the doors to find out it's empty! Takes the employee a couple minutes to unlock it without an apology or anything! After this, I had a question about a swimsuit (because I sell this brand in my store and had never seen this style before) only to get rude remarks and seemingly no knowledge of their products?! The employee actually walked away half-way through our conversation! Overall a dreadful experience, ended up putting back all my clothes and leaving! read more

I don't like leaving bad reviews for retail/customer service places just because I've been in their situation and I know that it isn't an easy job. However, this PacSun is an exception. I'm fine with not being approached or asked if I need help because I feel like if there's something I need, I'll ask them myself. But that's where the problem lies. The workers here give off a terribly condescending/attitude-problem vibe which makes me not even want to approach them. There's a female supervisor in particular that has no people skills whatsoever. She always sounds really rude and acts as though you're taking up her time. A few of my other friends that have shopped at this PacSun have noticed her attitude too. Another associate rang me up and asked if I wanted to enter my phone number and I declined and said "No thank you," and she sighed and rolled her eyes as though I were obligated to give my number. I asked if I could get a fitting room once and an associate gave me the most exasperated look and just said "yeah" really lifelessly. I do my best to be nice to customer service workers because, again, I know what it's like to be in their shoes dealing with rude and/or angry customers and I'd hate to be that customer that ruins someone's day by being unnecessarily mean to people that are only trying to help but every time I walk out of this PacSun I always get the feeling like I just bothered everyone that worked there that day and was an inconvenience to them. Of course, there's a few people that work there that are kind. I had to wait in a long line once and the male supervisor was really kind and thanked me for my patience and apologized for making me wait even though it wasn't his fault at all. Another girl gave me a fitting room and helped me find some sizes and smiled the whole time and another girl rang me up and made conversation and was really funny and upbeat -- they're the reason why I didn't want to give just a one star rating and I'm sure if they're reading this they'd know that I'm referring to them. It just sucks that their coworkers don't know basic people skills and customer service skills. Even the workers at Urban Outfitters who people usually give a bad rap for being kind of snooty are a lot nicer than them. read more

I usually dont shop here, but I was given a gift card so I went in to try and find something to spend it on. I first went to the Pac Sun in the Carlsbad mall, and didn't find one thing I liked and they had a small selection of clothes. This location has way more of a variety and awesome deals. I got a great pair of jeans that were 70% off, only costing me $8 so I bought 2 pairs and love them. It's a really clean store and overall I was just glad it was better than the mall store. read more

The employees at this establishment are quite horrid. We wanted to try on an assortment of clothes, however they glared at us the whole time we were browsing. Then, when we wanted fitting rooms the man said to wait and he would come over, however that was not the case. We stood there for 10 minutes waiting while they ate and looked at us. When we finally got into a fitting room- by someone else coming out of one, the employee raced over and wouldn't let me go in with my friend (understandable request but he used a rude tone). When we decided to put 4 items on hold to check out another store he made us wait at the back of the line because we weren't as important as those actually buying (Keep in mind that putting something on hold is very fast and only requires a name!). Coming back was also a frustration as he had given the clothes away to the wrong person and we didn't get the right sizes back. He didn't help us find them and overall it was a major frustration. The only good thing about this store is the good clothing, even though this store is still super expensive. Would recommend going to another store to buy things if you love the clothing. Awful customer service and expensive prices. 1 star is all this store deserves, and only because of the clothes. Disgusting. read more

Horrible! This is normally my favorite store but they "Manager" of the store was so rude and had no empathy towards me what so ever. I asked for her name and she responded with an attitude "I don't have to give it to you" I Mean what kind of "Manager" is that. This is hilarious that I even have to do this because she was obviously too embarrassed and not confident enough to give me her name but I have her cashier number from the receipt (524318) and I just really and writing to complain about her service. I work in returns as well and I know she was following the "policy" but sometimes in customer service you can care more about customer service than policy. I told her that just last week I came and returned something and got it back on my debit card and she said she can ONLY put it back on the cc I paid with. I told her that wasn't true and she could've given me store credit as well.. she needs to do some research on all she can offer if she really is the manager of the store. She wasn't even wearing any type of name badge and had a shirt that showed her stomach. I mean, I am in awe if that's the manager of the store. read more

Went shopping there today because I heard about the sale from a friend. Got fashionable clothing for a great price however left incredibly unsatisfied from the customer service. There was a blonde female employee there that was very rude to me. Although I look like a teenager I am a legal adult and have worked in retail for the past year and a half and I know from firsthand experience that the customer should always be valued. She wouldn't look me in the eye when responding to my questions, saw her rolling her eyes when I was conversing with the person next to me and gave absolutely no effort to conceal her obvious rude distaste, and when I was waiting at the cash register she stood there giving me no attention at all and it wasn't until her fellow male employee came to the cash register that I finally was helped. These gestures made me feel so uncomfortable and ruined my PacSun shopping experience. I felt judged and awkward which made me want to leave immediately. I know from now on that if I want to shop at a PacSun store it'll be somewhere other than the Carlsbad Outlet Mall. read more
