My bestie and I frequent this Yard House perhaps a little too often but you can't beat their happy hour deals! Their portions are good and service is usually speedy and nice. They have happy hour M-F from 3:00-6:00pm with 1/2 off select apps and all pizzas and $2 off all beer, wine, spirits and cocktails. They also have a late night happy hour Sun-Wed from 10:00pm-close for drink specials only. Their calamari and poké nachos are my fav and for beer I like ordering their silly, stupid sour (yes that's the real name and I do feel like a silly goose ordering it). Being realistic, I'll probably be back within a week or two. There's a lot for parking so be sure to take your ticket inside to get validated before you leave. read more

Took the family out for dinner on Friday evening to get out of the hot house and enjoy the beautiful Long Beach Shoreline scenery. After we valet-parked, we decided to walk a little bit and then go to Yard House. I walked into a gang of servers and hosts bustling around a podium. I wanted a few minutes to get someone's attention so I could put my name on the wait list. No one could be bothered to help or even to direct me to where I should go. I finally walked to a different podium and asked, "Is this where I check in?" There were three people there. A guy and a girl chatting and a second girl on the phone. Dude didn't even bother to make eye contact with me before he turned and walked away. The first girl did the same thing. The second girl finished her call, helped to people who arrived after me with validation, and then took another call. I'm standing there the whole time, and I am hard to miss. Finally, I say in my sternest voice, but trying not to sound frustrated, "Is this where I check in for a table?" Now-- all of a sudden--she sees me and takes my information. But she doesn't explain the process. Namely, once they text you, you have to return and tell them you are there in order to actually get your table. I returned, thinking they'd just call me and say, "Your table is ready." That didn't happen. My family came back after we texted, but we waited and waited to be called until I finally got a text saying I had been dropped from the waitlist. WTF. Not a good first impression, and no discernible effort by the staff to provide even average customer service. That said, the food was tasty, and the portions were large. And our two servers were solid, and I tipped them well. Then again, I always tip well. But as much as social media shows restaurant staff b*tch & moan about tipping, you'd think they'd put a little more effort into making the customer experience more enjoyable. read more

Today, me and my friend decided to hit Yard House in Long Beach for happy hour, and let me tell you, they were FREAKING BUSY! But even with how packed it was, the service and food were A1! First, I have to give a HUGE shout-out to Justin! A table had just become available, and Justin came right over and cleaned it so we could sit down. He took our order and made sure we were good while everything was CRAZY busy. He was WORKING, okay! Once we moved over to the other side, Austin took over, and he was AWESOME as well! He made sure our food came out, kept checking on us, and made sure my friend's water stayed topped off the entire time. But what really stood out to me was that even though we had left Justin's section, he still personally came over and dropped off my cocktail. That right there is GREAT customer service! He didn't have to do that, but he still made sure I was taken care of. I also have to give credit to the food runners AND the bus boys because they were on it! Everybody was moving, helping each other, clearing tables, bringing food out, and keeping things running even though the place was PACKED. And I wish I could remember the young lady's name--she was Hispanic, had her hair in a ponytail with highlights, and she was AWESOME! She went out of her way to move our table for us, which we really appreciated. Hopefully management knows exactly who I'm talking about because she deserves her recognition too! One thing I can definitely say about Yard House Long Beach--as crowded as they were, they did NOT miss a beat. The food came out A1, everybody was working together, and the customer service was on point! The food is amazing and consistent. I go here just because I can't remember when I've had a bad meal. I enjoy their happy hour and attentive bartenders (Gio, Chanel...I love you)! When there is an issue th staff handles it very professionally. I enjoy coming here for big sporting events and I've met many friends here. Everyone is friendly and comes to have a great time. We tried their 3-6pm happy hour for the first time and it did not disappoint! Select appetizers and pizzas were half price, so we ordered a few! Great deal and selection. The place was pretty packed, so dining out on the deck, watching the boats and the water was much more relaxing! Service was friendly and attentive though the waiter was very busy and we had to ask a few times for small things like lemons for the beer, extra tableware, etc., but food came out perfectly prepared and plated beautifully; the wait was not too long. My husband was thrilled that they offered his favorite Hefeweizen beer, so he ordered a half yard- 32 oz. Our food choices were all delicious, though heavy on the chips and salt. (Of course they want you to drink a lot!) The serving sizes were plentiful, except for the poke nachos which seemed skimpy on the poke. The spinach cheese dip is always a decadent favorite. The blackened ahi sashimi was a delightful surprise, and the chicken in the lettuce wraps was very flavorful, with two dipping sauces. I would have liked a few more lettuce pieces as they were tiny. The calamari featured a jalapeño tartar sauce which was a bit too hot for me, but in all we loved every dish. Their full menu is extensive- pastas, pizza, soups, salads, apps, sandwiches, seafood, steaks, burgers... I would come back every week to try everything, it all sounded so good. I have been going to YH for two decades. The food has been pretty consistent. Unfortunately, service and facility upkeep has not. I completely understand that pest control can be a nightmare and more so now with the heat and humidity. We have been a couple times and ignored the gnats and flies. Last night was not acceptable. We were presented plates with a dead gnat/fly on it. What?!?! Our servers were good and food was ok. Too bad I had to see a dead fly before eating. When we spoke to the manager(didn't get her name), she was very dismissive and nonchalant. No offer to comp or replace anything! We will not be returning. Tequila Jacks is right next door. We will spend our money there and make sure to share this fly pest issue with our friends and loved ones. The 2 stars are for the servers and food, otherwise it would be 0. read more

Unfortunately, our experience here was overshadowed by an unsettling situation--there were roaches on the tables, which was a major concern. The managers were helpful and did their best to make it right by offering free appetizers, but it was hard to shake the uneasy feeling. Overall vibe inside the restaurant was lively and fun specially around the huge bar area! Depending on when you come, this place can get packed but luckily you can join the waitlist online to minimize your potential wait. We got the chicken nachos, crispy brussels sprouts, chicken tenders, carnivore pizza and blackened ahi sashimi. Overall, I thought everything was mediocre. The pizza was probably the best item out of everything we ordered because of how doughy the pizza was. The ahi was decent but didn't taste the most fresh. The chicken on the nachos and the chicken tenders were super dry and I thought the brussels sprouts had too much balsamic. Definitely a sharable plate. We also ordered the spicy Jambalaya, with rice, spicy beef garlic noodles, and the Thai grilled pork chop. The beef noodles weren't the best thing on the menu and could use a revamp to improve that dish. Everything else was great. Atmoshere: The atmosphere is great. The inside is full of tv's and great seating spaces. The outdoor patio is beautiful with views of the docks and ocean. It's so relaxing. Great place to enjoy food and drinks. Service: Stagg is great and pays attention to their tables. Their friendly and helpful. Great team with better training. Price: The prices are great especially for the amount of food you get and the quality. Now, the beef noodles snuggled but they loaded the plate. We love this yard house! It's right around the corner from our home so we're here quite often. Service is quick and food is so tasty but I have one thing I just can't get past. We're often ordering bar snacks - chicken tenders, cheese curds, fries, etc. and ask much as we ask every time for them to be well done, there is never a difference in how they come out. Never with that extra crisp. It's not a hard request so I just don't understand! Let a few cheese curds explode - let my chicken be a little more dry! Waited to sit at the bar, the bartender took his time cleaning off the bar-top while messing around with the fellow bartenders. We ordered and got our food, but I was missing condiments. My fiancé was able to flag down the bartender after he was ignoring us, to get the condiments, but by the time they FINALLY came out, like ten minutes later, I was already done eating! But surprisingly the wait time was only 5-10 minutes for a seat and the service was excellent our server came up to our table almost immediately after seating and was so attentive. I hadn't been to Yard House since 2017, and my friend suggested we go. Honestly, I was hesitant--I only liked the coconut shrimp back then, and it's no longer on the menu. Nothing else really caught my eye, but I went with the wings covered in BBQ sauce and some sweet potato fries. My friend had the salmon. The sweet potato fries were good, but the dip they gave me tasted like pancake syrup, and they also gave me ranch--kind of strange for BBQ wings. The chicken was moist, but the sauce was way too strong--no real BBQ flavor, just thick, overwhelming sauce. The service started off nice--the server was extra friendly, and the person who walked us to our table was sweet. But after the server went on break, the backup never showed. Our water was never refilled, and we were left sitting outside in the dark (the view was lovely, but there was no light) until they brought a little candle just as we were leaving. I noticed other tables nearby also waiting a long time for their food. Overall, the food felt overpriced and underwhelming. Now I understand why I hadn't returned since 2017. Our time here was quite unpleasant. 1. Only four people got their food and the rest of us waited at least 15 minutes for the rest of our food. 2. One of our group members got a whole clove of garlic in one bite of his food 3. The server took half an hour to bring out one alcoholic drink and then proceeded to hand it to a minor to give to the correct person 4. One of our group members got the ahi all crusted tuna sandwich and the tuna was bad and unchewable. 5. Half of our group got cold food 6. There was a pile of green onions on the Korean bbq cheesesteak even though he said no onions 7. At least two people's fries came out cold 8. The sandwich on brioche came out on white bread. So in conclusion, it's safe to say that my group of 15 people wouldn't come back here. We are very disappointed considering we've been doing this as a tradition for a while now. Poke nachos are my personal go to favorite at BJ's and they never miss. The crispy fried wontons with the sriracha mayo, thin jalapeño slices, and fresh ahi tuna makes the best combination. Loved this yardhouse! Amazing view, fast service, clean, and right on the beach. The monuments were walked in, even with a full house, we were greeted right away. The place was busy! Or server was on point being very attentive and made sure we had a pleasant experience. I started off with the strawberry blonde (mind you this place has a crazy alcohol menu) then I went for the strawberry mule which by far tasted great. It was the view and amazing Saturday weather that did it for me and the misses. The food came in a nice portion size and the 20 oz rib eye was perfect for me and the misses to share as she had it with her salad. The manager greeted us with a free appetizer as there was an initial mix up with our table and that was highly appreciated customer service Korean cheesesteak with chicken? Order it!! I travel for a living and I've been to a few Yard House restaurants in this was simply not good. We were seated relatively quickly, which was a good thing. But it wasn't until approximately 12 to 15 minutes before a server came to take our order; and this was after flagging down the hostess, who said us, and several minutes after that, speaking to a manager. We had three different servers in a matter of minutes for whatever reason. Nevertheless, I must say, that the brussels sprouts were awesome! Also, my guest whom I treated to a late lunch enjoyed it Nashville chicken sandwich. But, the garlic fries that were not fresh, were barely touched with a less than flavorful clumpy seasoning. In the main issue? I specifically passed two other restaurants to come here because I want their exceptional hot wings. But when they arrived, they were soggy with no crispiness or a crunch to it at all and they were just warm. I was so disappointed. After bringing it to the service attention, they brought me, what I thought was an entirely fresh bunch but to their chagrin, their were only a few pieces that were hot, fresh and crunchy. I paid the $87 tab. I'm just vowed to not returned again, but assured to leave this review. Good luck. Oh, one more disappointing thing, the first batch of sodas, Coke, and a root beer, had very little carbonation. The second batch plus refills had just a little more. I'm regretfully leaving this report because I really like the Yard House establishments I've visited in the past, but this one right here. I guess it's just a Long Beach thing next time, back to Marina del Rey. And I only say that because they've gotten it right the first time when the visit it and in Illinois, if something was the matter, they always resolved it. And it was with a large party of a dozen people celebrating birthdays, and they corrected everything.
