Chicken Nachos
Dana M.

First time at this location.... Late night dinner party of 3. We arrived at about 11pm. There was no wait and we got seated right away at the High top tables near the bar. Our server was very nice and pleasant. Once we ordered, our food came out super fast... fresh to order (counter top bar area is open seating). The poke nachos and lemon pepper wings both were very delicious. My friend ordered the chicken nachos and it was a huge portion size..... definitely shareable with the table. Overall this location has a good atmosphere with nice views (near the water) and friendly/helpful servers. They do have plenty of parking but make sure you get your parking ticket validated. After validation I paid $2.50.

Came here on a Wednesday night and the place was pretty busy but not a long wait. We waited less than 10 mins for a table for 4. Our server Sam was nice and friendly. We ordered the sesame seared ahi tuna, fish and chips, the Thai pork chop, and the enchilada stack. The food took about 20 mins to come out but we took less time to finish it all. We really enjoyed the food and we had no left overs to take home. We always enjoy Yard house and the Long Beach location is a good one.

Came here for happy hour. Sliders: I must have been in a burger n fries mood because these were my favorite. Calamari: decent. Can't complain. Buffalo boneless wings: we thought we ordered the ones with the bones but boneless we got. We didn't feel like sending it back so we just ate them. They pretend decent. I'm not a big beer drinker but will definitely come back for happy hour!

Friday Happy Hour: Party of two. Arrived at 3p. Receptionist look like she didn't want to be there or be bothered when we checked in and asked for first available table. About five minutes later we were seated. Very busy, and packed in the area we were sitting. Our server, we can tell is overwhelmed. He explained he will be with us shortly. Ten minutes, he stopped to bring us water and get out order. The ordering tablet did not work, he took our order manually at around 315p. We ordered Nachos, Pizza and Calamari. It took 30 minutes to get our drink order and I ordered only a beer. My friend, ordered a Margarita took another 10 minutes after that. Nachos arrived at 415p, pizza at 430p and still missing the calamari. At 445p, at that time we were pretty full and thought about canceling the calamari. Shortly after at 505p calamari arrived. I understand short staffing from server and kitchen staff so we did not make a fuss. My bff and I were there to enjoy the afternoon and not in a hurry. Our server, Miguel V. did a wonderful job updating us about our order and almost apologetic regarding the wait and phasing of the orders. But this experience left us a bad impression that we are probably going to think twice about coming back. No complaints about the food, they were prepared fresh and delicious. Miguel V. managed the short comings very professionally, despite the kitchen shortcomings. I believe he was not set up for success. I will rate our experience 2 STARS because of that.

Cheers to the New Year! (Did I say that already?)

Sometimes it don't want to overthink dinner and then old comfort spots are handy. We came in for NYE dinner to grab some nibbles early in the evening and our timing was perfect. The place was hopping, as it usually is, being in a touristy sort of place, but you know there's plenty of locals here, too. What I really appreciated was, even though I think of NYE as a holiday, as did a couple other restaurants in this area, YardHouse did not. They honored HH bites and pricing. Since we were just looking for nibbles, this was perfect. Hubs went with the pepperoni pizza and I chose the calamari and sliders w/small fries. I also can't say no to their delicious, cold ON TAP cider, but did manage to remember I'm not in my 20s anymore, so I opted for the pint and NOT the yard. It was a very big challenge! (Fond memories of that yard long cold cider....) All the food was served hot and tasty and we were well cared for from the hostess to our server, to the food runners and bussers. They now have a semi-automated system of ordering at the table, but for us Old School folk, the staff was attentive and checked on us and kept orders up to speed so we didn't have to bother with that. Honestly, I think of the 'puter on the table as a means to ending in-person service, staff cuts and budget savings for corporate. Aside from that, I'm not sure how often those screens are sanitized and, being a food situation, this gives me the icks when I see them on the table. People can be - and are - nasty, y'all! Get rid of these digital ordering pads. If we ever need a quick bite again, when in this part of Long Beach, we would consider YardHouse an option. Cheers! "CC"

Love this location! It overlooks the boat harbor, which makes for such a great view. The drinks and food were amazing, and the ambiance really elevated the whole experience. Yard House is never disappointing, and this location adds an extra layer of charm.

I come here all the time for happy hour and it's the best! Our server today was Justin and he was the absolute greatest. We got sat at 5:56 and he ran over to take our orders to make sure we got happy hour pricing. He was so attentive, made sure we had everything refilled, but what really set him apart is that he brought us an extra entree to try just because he thought we would love it! It was the cheese curds with caramel which I promise, don't knock it until you try it. I will be back just to have Justin as our server!

Multiple Reviews. 01.19.2026 Martin Luther King Day. Always good food and Service. Perfect day for Entrees and Cocktails! Nothing short as being a Long Beach Local. I highly recommend this place for the bay watch ambiance. Lots of parking with validation. Cash not accepted, only credit.

I'd heard this is the very first Yard House, so we wanted to try it after moving to Long Beach. It's a really cool location -- the patio overlooks the marina and passing ships, which gives the place a great vibe and atmosphere. This was my second time eating here, and I actually like the food better than the Yard House locations I'm used to in Orange County. The quality and flavors really stood out. That said, we were seated outside this time and the service was lacking. We had to walk up to the server multiple times just to get assistance, which took away from the experience. Overall, the food and ambiance were strong, but the service fell short. I'd rate it a solid 4 out of 5.

This was my first visit to this particular Yard House location. Quality-wise, it was comparable to the last couple of other locations I've visited, with good service, as well as satisfying food and drinks. Tip: About our only complaint was the fact that the kitchen was pretty backed up when we were there - it took almost 40 minutes for our food to arrive after we placed our order. We shared a number of tasty dishes, including: - Stacked turkey club (tasty with a side of truffle fries and lots of meat) - Beer battered onion rings (beautifully fried and totally on point!) - Everything crusted Ahi (succulent and tender) To wash it all down, we went with several different draft selections. Despite the small kitchen glitch, we had a very enjoyable meal, and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Was a packed Mother's Day and it was handled great. Had a little wait but seated on the patio and great service from Nestor (he's 5 star). Food great came out fast. Wonderful day

I'm a local and honestly haven't popped into the ORIGINAL Yard House for a bit. Came in on a rainy January day with some out of town folks. It was a busy place! Yard House offers an eclectic menu offering both seafood and beef, providing lots of options. I had the refreshing and high protein Poke Salad which was fresh and delightful. The others checked out the Tortilla Soup (creamier and perhaps a bit too creamy) and the Shrimp Salad. My Poke Salad was satisfying but I think my male companion eating the Shrimp Salad could have eaten more. However, the calories are right on the menu! Great service from Rosie who refilled our ice teas without asking. Way to go girl. I live within walking distance and won't wait so long before my next visit.

While visiting my friend in Southern California we decided to enjoy a cocktail before my flight home. It was a warm sunny day so we decided to sit on the patio which was lovely offering a view of the harbor. We had the most delightful server and I'm disappointed I forgot his name as I wanted to mention him. We each enjoyed a delicious lemon drop. Cheers!

1 Star - Worst Experience I've Ever Had at a Bar…read more I've been to The Blind Donkey in downtown Long Beach before but what happened last night deserves to be shared. I came here with a friend last night and ordered a blonde beer that tasted completely off -- it genuinely tasted like blue cheese. My friend encouraged me to ask for a replacement since something was clearly wrong with it. When she brought it to the bar, the bartender told her he'd replace it and that it was on the house, but then made her pay for the second drink anyway. If I had known she'd still be charged, I would've just not asked for another drink. When I came up to the bar to clarify why she paid for something he said was comped, the bartender backtracked and said he "didn't mean" that. I asked if they could void the second charge, since this was supposed to be a simple replacement. He kept explaining that he is charging us for this second one because it was not a blonde, it was a white ale. I told him that's fine, but why did he say it was "on the house" and now charging us anyway? He ended up bringing over the manager. The manager was a short, Latino man with a hat on. He was incredibly rude from the moment he arrived explaining the beer was a blonde- which I know what I ordered, but tasted whack. He didn't look at us, didn't listen to anything we were saying, and without asking a single question he grabbed both drinks we paid for and dumped them down the drain. We were stunned -- we paid for both of them and now had nothing. When he came back, I calmly told him we paid for both drinks he just threw out. His response? "Don't expect to come here and get free drinks." Which is wild considering we never asked for anything free -- we were just trying to get the mistaken charge fixed. When I told him he needed to void the drink he dumped, he called security on us. We weren't loud, drunk, or confrontational. Security refused to give us the manager's name, and only one finally whispered "Ken," though at that point it felt like they were just saying anything to get us out the door. I've worked in customer-facing roles before. I understand dive bars aren't known for luxury service, but this wasn't about service -- it was about basic respect, integrity, and not charging customers for drinks you throw away yourself. I'm leaving this review as a Long Beach local, it's saddening to see how a popular bar like The Blind Donkey treats their customers. This was the worst experience I've ever had.
