I would normally give it a 4-5 stars because I loooove this place and have been coming here for almost 4 years? *Super Bowl Day* Actually, maybe it's a good idea to just remember this for ANY game days. Yes today is busy, but it is not that busy. Yardhouse has experienced much, much busier days on first hand experience. There are no seats at the bar so I have to stand behind the people sitting/standing. I am a girl of 5'2" next to a 6' tall man. I got my first drink because I was able to make eye contact with the manager at 6:52. I been waiting and trying to flag down the bartender (nicely because I also bartend so I know sometimes you're busy and have to prioritize). I wasn't able to get my second drink until 8:10. And when I finally got the bartenders attention she kept looking at me as if she didn't want to work, or even be here. I'm sorry, me ordering drinks is how you make money. I don't care if you guys pool or not, but you're clearly screwing with your coworkers money. When she approached me, she said "you good" and I was so taken back that that's how you talk to a paying customer who has not given any attitude or even a hard time. A piece of advise, aim to sit or stand in a guys bar area. If needed to sit in a girls area, then sit or I guess even hover over her area by the computer. We came in before a concert and it's a typical sports bar with the typical food with a festive and busy atmosphere. The selection of beer on tap is impressive even for a wine drinker. The staff are busy and seem to tolerate customers, barely. All in all it was an ok place to sit and wait for an event but I wouldn't go in for anything but grabbing food before a Fenway show. Was in the neighborhood for an event with the family and stumbled upon the Yard House for dinner during the week - happy occurrence with some excellent service and enough food to feed growing boys/men with a variety of comfort offerings. The beer selection was reasonable with a number of selections on tap, and the options from "standard" wings to some interesting fusion dishes kept everyone satisfied both with respect to variety and quality. As noted the service was also excellent, but no pics due to the fact that the place is really dark and my ability to capture anything unique was pretty unspectacular. I am a big fan of the appetizers and (of course) the "half yard" beers here! My favorite appetizer is the queso dip, which I have ordered every single time I've come. Since we usually just get a bunch of different appetizers, I have only ordered an entree once. I got a burger and honestly it felt like it was a little small for the price. The fries were very good though. Because I'm not from Boston, I've only ever gone on weekend nights when they were busy, so it is very crowded, but the staff can handle it. They are always professional, helpful, and friendly. As with any restaurant full of people in the winter though, it was not as clean during these peak hours. I have never been to the Yardhouse in Legacy Place, as there has always been a 2-hour wait when I've tried. Since the Fenway location opened, my friends have made it their new favorite spot, but I hadn't been able to join them. Until a few weeks ago, when we threw a little "bridal shower" for one of them. My first thought upon entering was "wow, this place is huge! And dark..." Luckily, although they had a huge party coming in a bit later than us, we were still able to reserve part of the covered patio. It is quite loud, but you're not coming here for a quiet, romantic dinner. Most of the tables/people at the bars (yes, there are 2 - one inside, one outside) are there to watch a game, grab a drink after work or just enjoy some tasty food with friends. The staff and managers are so accommodating! We shifted around our tables at least twice and they didn't bat an eye. Food-wise, the pizza was eh, but everything else is great. Sliders, fries, egg rolls, nachos. YUM. And I love that they have all the nutritional information online. I will definitely be back for some Happy Hour drinks and bites. read more

I work right next to the Fenway Yard House. As a result, a lot of working lunches take place here. [There aren't too many good options around there.] Usually, lunch is empty at the restaurant. That would make one think things are more fluid but every time I've gone it has taken so long to get our food. This is probably because there are less people on staff but it can be slowwwww. To my surprise, today we got everything quickly! I got the baja fish tacos as I wanted something different from the lunch special which is bomb!! [you can get half a sandwich or a mini (but still large- oh America) pizza with salad for 9.95. For a sit down place, that's amazeballs. The only thing that I was unimpressed with was my side. I came here for dinner tonight for a friend's birthday and we ordered a lot of appetizers and entrees to share. First, I got a pineapple express per my friend's suggestion and it's pretty good but a little too sweet. We got the lobster artichoke dip and chips, and that one was just okay, nothing impressive in my opinion. The crispy duck wings were pretty good though. I usually have chicken wings so duck wings were something different and they tasted delicious. The lobster garlic noodles were pretty good too but I think they can add a little more sauce. I feel like this entree was too dry. The truffle fries were so good! They were very crispy and flavorful, what a pleasant surprise! I tried the pork taco and fish taco. They were okay. I thought the pork one was better. We then ordered the desserts - the trio sample with peach cobbler, creme blulee and chocolate cake soufflé. We also got the banana pudding... Visited here recently on a trip to Fenway Park. I was relieved to find that the garage doored section of the restaurant is kept very cool. It was very comfortable on an 80-degree day. Loved the atmosphere and that all the HDTV's had HD signals running through them. During our visit they had multiple Olympic feeds. Our waiter and his relief were great about drink refills. We both had burgers and they were tasty. The fries were crunchy and tasty. They're not going to win a James Beard award for food, but I've found them consistent with other restaurants within their chain, and I've been pleased. read more

Our waitress, Cristal, has been nothing but incredible tonight. Explaining to us what she can do to make an item vegetarian for us. She deserves 5 stars for her service, especially for being so kind with my annoying martini order. The Manager, Daniels, on the other hand deserves one star. A table of 22 who openly told their servers they could only spend $100 and then loudly and verbally chatted about how they were only able to leave $4, left a mess on a table. When cleaning up their mess, a glass broke. The busser did the right thing, the Yard House rule, by standing over it while another employee went and got a broom. A female server walked by to ask the busser if she needed to get a broom. Just then the male server with the broom walked back and the manager came over and said something along the lines of "it doesn't take three of you" in an angry voice at the busser. And put his fingers in the air signaling for them to disperse. All of the customers around him heard. They were all doing their job and concerned about the broken glass. Which was right near the bar and surrounded by drunk patrons. They were following protocol and keeping everyone safe. Absolutely disgusted in his behavior. Can't believe Yard house employs managers that treat their employees so poorly. Tragic. Thank you Cristal for making the night enjoyable. They have everything from salads, to poke, to lobster mac n' cheese. Cons: - Would recommend making a reservation if you can, the wait can be pretty long otherwise on the weekends. - A bit more pricey than I would expect from the portion size. Atmosphere is of a classier dinner space with an air of sports bar. Ambiance is great, with the classic dim lighting and range of seating from tables, to booths, to bar. My boyfriend and I went here for lunch on Saturday and really enjoyed it. We've been to the location in Dedham, but we prefer the atmosphere at this location. Space: Huge and very well done. TVs from every angle (even outside). One huge bar in the middle of the restaurant and then another in the back near the patio. Can't wait to go in the summer. Beer: 143 beers on tap. Don't think you can ask for much more. They also have "Chalkboard Specials" so be sure to check those out on the way to your table. My boyfriend was thrilled to find Troegs Nugget Nectar on there. Food: We prefer this food to that of other bars in the area. The menu is pretty big with nice selections, and the prices were reasonable for the quality and area. We had chicken nachos, shrimp ceviche spoons, and ham & pineapple pizza. Service: When we were there, it looked like there was more staff than diners, so no complaints on the service. Friendly. Came here for a 21st birthday. At midnight we ordered and the waitress refused to serve the birthday boy! The weird thing was she believed him that he had just turned 21, but she said that the computer was "still set to the night before and would think he was still 20". I very much doubt any computer system would work that way. Other reviews mention having their 21st's here, so clearly Yardhouse can do them, we just had a bad experience. Every time I go in I hope it'll be better and it's not. I ate at the one next to Fenway the other night before catching the game. I ordered truffle fries and spinach dip from the bar. The bartenders completely ignored me and my girlfriend (the bar wasn't busy at all) everyone was already at the game as we decided to go after the third inning. Anyway, we waited 35 minutes for TRUFFLE FRIES and SPIN DIP... I had to remind the bartender and of course she comes right out with them. We tasted the apps and they tasted like they were sitting in the window for a long time... we asked the bartender if she could get us a fresh order of both as the spinach dip looked and tasted awful and the fries weren't good at all as the truffle just absorbed the fries and made them extremely dense. After getting a new order it was already the 5th inning. We asked for our check and ran out of there. I always stop at the Yard House before a Sox game but now I will have to seek other options. This was a "right place, right time" visit. It's tough to not enjoy the evening when it's a warm summer night right after the Sox have won. But we were a fairly large party, and we had no problems getting table space inside or outside. We knew we'd have a great server when he said he thrived on chaos. The row of taps is impressive, dwarfed only by the menu, which we merely grazed. We were more than satisfied with the beer and drink list, the snacks, appetizers, and meals. The food came out very quickly, and as we left, we saw the size of the kitchen and staff and knew why. This is a place you go to be loud and trendy with friends who don't mind dropping some money on food and drink. It's a bit quieter inside, away from the brightly lit bar, and the tables and chairs trend towards wood instead of chrome. Though for all the glitz, you'd think they had rest rooms which were more functional and less trendy. It's a chain, but I like the atmosphere here more than some of your "neighborhood pub" type of chains. Just be prepared to have to talk louder than the music and multimedia blasting around you. read more

We've been coming here for happy hour for some time now and we've always had the same experience. It's a room full of servers who just want you out as soon as possible. As for the food, you can tell it's rushed. The chicken is always extra deep fried. Sometimes I don't even think there's any chicken in the fried mess! You have a large group of people that consists of at least few decent guys, and at least few really cool ladies that are fun to talk with. The temperature is at least 15 degrees Celsius, and you are also looking for a decent spacious and outdoor bar with extremely mediocre scenery. You have plenty of extra cash. Where should you go? This place is not a bad choice. I went here to meet up with a few decent guys and a few really cool ladies that I know and recently met. This place is located near a really old and really big baseball field. An ideal time to come here is when the local baseball team is not playing on that day. If that happens, this place may get really crowded with people who are somewhat "hysterical" about the local baseball team. Beer selection is excellent, I really like that they have the option to order your drinks in the "Shorty" (small), "Goblet" (medium), "Pint" (standard "English" size), and a "Half Yard" (extremely large) size. That way, if you order the "Shorty" size, you can limit your "caloric intake" of beer. If you order the "Half Yard", I think you might experience a "dramatic change". I had that Wachusett Blueberry Beer, and I thought it was pretty refreshing, and the blueberries gave it some juiciness. As for food, the Sweet Potato Fries here are not great, but they are not terrible as well. I thought they had a weird flavor. The hamburgers they have here are pretty good. The Avocado and Swiss Burger cooked medium was pretty tasty with some ketchup, combined with the freshness of the lettuce, the texture of the avocado, and the juiciness of the meat, and it was a tasty hamburger. I would say that it is worth it to spend an extra $1 for the Truffle Fries with the hamburger. They are very thin, with a good flavor and crispiness that made it a great side dish. The bathroom was really clean. This place probably has the cleanest bathroom inside a bar and I felt like I was in a hotel or an upscale restaurant rather than a bar. This place is really spacious, and it's a good choice if you have two good buddies and nine great companions. Service on a Friday evening is not great, but it's either because there's too many people, or they don't have many people working at the bar and kitchen in proportion with the amount of people wanting beer and food. The outdoor bar is a pretty good place to hang out, but the scenery is dismal, unless the construction area nearby becomes a really cool place. Overall, if you are looking for one of the most spacious bars with the cleanest bathrooms in the somewhat decent city of Boston, this is probably a great choice. Again, the right time to come here is when the temperature is at least 15 degrees Celsius, the local baseball team is not playing on that day, you have at least $20 in your pocket, and you are in a group of people that has at least a few decent guys and a few really cool ladies. I came here on a Tuesday night to watch the semi-final game of the Women's World Cup, and the bar was absolutely packed! Despite how busy it was, the service was quick and friendly. What I liked most about this bar was the atmosphere and set-up - it has a modern design with an open concept layout, in addition to a variety of table sizes and booths to accommodate all parties and occasions. But best of all is the outdoor patio! It's definitely a fun place to come and hang out with friends. The appetizers are a tad pricey (but certainly not skimpy in size), although I feel like the prices aren't as inflated as other places in Fenway. Cold beer. They refridgerate the tap lines coming from their ridiculously large selection of beers. This restaurant is also on the nicer side in Fenway (meaning, probably two solid steps up from Cask & Flagon)...but it's generic enough that I wouldn't commute all the way from Cambridge unless I was seeing a show at House of Blues (which I was). Cons: The bartenders weren't super attentive...and we were sitting RIGHT at the bar (a big group of us), so it's not like we were fighting crowds for service. The servers were good, but I could barely hear them over the loud music. It was the middle of the day! I think they should turn down the tunes a bit. The food is OK. I like the bacon butter that comes with the sweet potato fries. Also, my swordfish taco had enough flavor that I might re-ordered it. I wasn't really impressed with the nachos. I've had a lot better.
