Yank Sing really said "premium dim sum experience" and actually backed it up. Every single dish tasted insanely high quality, from the texture of the dumplings to the freshness of the seafood. You can tell they're not cutting corners here. But the real main character? The Beijing Ribs. That sauce was absolutely out of this world -- sweet, savory, sticky perfection where you start contemplating ordering 3 more plates before finishing the first one. Legit one of those dishes that rewires your brain chemistry a little. Service was smooth, atmosphere felt upscale without being pretentious, and the whole experience just felt polished from start to finish. This is the type of dim sum spot where you leave full but still think about the food hours later. Highly recommend with my utmost respectful regards.

Fresh hot steamy dim sum treats made in the old fashioned way served in OG push carts. Quality of food is nicely done. Service is fast and efficient. The ambiance is clean and well lit. Do not be surprised by the tea charge.....everything has a cost. Support local small business! JYW highly recommends.

COVID has decimated the SF financial district and adjacent areas. This once vibrant restaurant is a shell of its former self. The menu is less extensive than the pre COVID version and some listed items were not even available at 11:30am which is a disappointment (no chicken feet). The staff speaks Cantonese, Mandarin and English but mostly English in catering to the weekday lunch crowd. Ladies still push steamer carts, and fried item & dessert carts around the restaurant for you to point out. If not on the specific cart, just ask the ladies and they'll have someone retrieve it for you. We had Home Sei Gok, Siu Mai, Gai Lan, two types of Steamed Dumplings and Orange Jello for dessert. The best item was the Fried Meat Rice Dumpling. I ordered the Orange Jello hoping for a orange jello version that would duplicate the 1960's orange pie from Sun Wah Ku restaurant on Washington in SF Chinatown. No luck in the duplication..... Service was good, I think they have more items available on the weekends and possibly seating out into the central atrium (at least they used to). The atrium does not have the waterfall from the skylight any more...darn! Overall, expensive and limited menu on weekdays.

The restaurant is super clean and the workers were very kind. However, the food just did not stand out, especially for the price point. The green beans completely threw me off, $12 for a small plate of GB the size of my hand. The ha gow was a little dry, but the XLB and siu mai were actually pretty good. Everything just seemed a bit expensive for the small portion size.

Sad to say that this dim sum location has disappointed me. Loved the Spear location so wanted to try this smaller one. Made a reservation and was greeted by a friendly hostess...then left alone for quite a bit. We were early, came at 11:15 am. No one came by with tea order or food cart. When it came we were served lukewarm dim sum. Though tasty we had to send the Shanghai dumplings back because they were rock solid cold. And had to ask twice for the fried taro dumplings ( lukewarm as well). Maybe it just wasn't their day but disappointed anyway.

Smaller of the two locations. Food is amazing. We had the usual suspects - ha gow, siu mai, chicken feet, shrimp balls, scallop dumplings, xlb. Disappointingly, this location doesn't have Cheung fun. Service is fast and efficient. The restaurant is clean but pretty tight.

Nice cart style dim sum spot. It was empty at 11:00am on a Friday. We got a bunch of items from the carts, but there are a few dishes you have to order directly from the server so we did that as well. We got: - Shrimp dumpling - $9.50 - Pork & shrimp siu mai - $9.50 - Shanghai kurobuta pork dumpling (XLB) - $16.00 - Sauteed string beans with dried shrimp - $12.50 - Sweet rice dumpling - $7.50 - Turnip cake - $9.00 - Crab claw - $15.50 - Beancurd roll - $7.50 - Egg custard tart - $15.00 My favorite was the fried sweet rice dumpling. The turnip cake and sauteed string beans were good as well. I didn't love the XLB because the skin was a bit thick. The pu erh tea was great, and the servers helped refill the pot once we finished the first one. The inside is clean with a nice ambiance. Service was friendly & efficient.

Yang Sing was just okay in my opinion. Definitely better options out there. Their dinning room is pretty small but they have outdoor seating. Some dishes you have to order from the server but most things are pushed around in the carts. They have a very slimmed down menu when compared to other dim sum restaurants. My favorites were the Shrimp Dumplings and Kurobuta Pork Dumplings. Both were flavorful and decently sized. They hyped up the fried rice but it was just okay.

Situated in the heart of SF. Came here to meet up with a friend of mine. A few parking options around. Space is small. But it is one of the rare spaces still offering the traditional dim sum cart. Food was okay. Service was quick and friendly. I personally prefer dim sum with thinner wrapper. Flavor was good and fresh. Just personal preference. Overall, a good option for people working close by.

tldr bad food, but clean store with friendly english speaking staff. My friend picked a restaurant for 8 of us to grab lunch before a wedding. Initial impression was good. Wait staff all spoke english and were polite, atypical for a dim sum restaurant. Place was super clean as well. We were seated outdoor, the floor was slanted and the tables were all pieced together, a little awkward. However, once the food came out that's when the disappointment started. To start, most of the food that came out was cold. The siu mai was very representative of the whole meal: cold, hard, tasteless. See attached picture for reference. Pork ribs is usually my favorite but the pork was hard and the sauce was gooey. Overall, don't come here for good food. However, service and seating for 8 allowed for to have lunch without waiting for hours.

I stopped by Yank Sing for a solo lunch before heading to the airport. The building is beautiful and the staff was attentive and accommodating of having my luggage in tow. They've got the carts, and if you don't see what you want they've got a menu you can order from or you can ask and they'll say "next cart." I got my go-tos: tea, har gow, shu mai, sesame balls, and steamed bbq pork bun (baked is weekend only). I also got their XLB which I don't normally get but they said it was their "signature" - I would pass on that next time for both taste and price ($16). For one, it was $70 before tip! Seems pricey for five food items plus tea.

Pretty decent dim sum place, very traditional with the carts going around. I did like the chicken feet and the veggie dumplings, though I do think they could have done a better job with everything else. The service was just OK. Definitely a super busy place for a weekday lunch. Lots of people there, the environment is relatively on the smaller side.

The event going off without a hitch was really important, especially because the bride had lost her mom and didn't have her to celebrate this special milestone. I wanted to make sure the order was on time and there were no issues with delivery. I ended up canceling my original order because DoorDash wasn't going to confirm a dasher until the day of the delivery. I re-ordered through DoorDash but this time as a pick up. Again, DoorDash's service was leaving me unsure because they weren't going to send the order through until the pick up day. This was $500 worth of dim sum and I didn't want to take a chance the restaurant didn't receive the order or that they couldn't fulfill it in time. So, I canceled that order as well. I called the restaurant directly. They took my order without hesitation and made me feel at ease that everything will be ready on time. I called again in the morning to confirm my order before leaving for pick up. I couldn't get a hold of anyone, most likely they were busy with their Sunday rush, but they called me back even without me leaving a message! When I arrived my order was ready, The food was hot, packaged so nicely, and everything was clearly prepared with care. I was helped by a very nice staff member who made us feel like we were longtime customers. My daughter and her friends absolutely loved the food! Thank you so much, Dumpling House. This is our "official" dim sum option for weeknight take out. Personal favorites for me are always going to be the salt/pepper wings, the steamed pork buns, the crystal shrimp dumplings, and the scallion pancakes. My wife loves the soup dumplings, the shu mai. We could eat those dishes every week until we die pretty much, they are reliably good and comforting. Particular shout out on the pork buns though because they are just the absolute best consistency from a filling/bun standpoint. Soft, pillowy, they are glorious. I used to get pork buns from Good Mong Kok Bakery, but tbh, this is about 10x better. The soup dumpling also are quite good, I like the spicy ones but the black truffle is defintely worth it for the occasional splurge. They give you the red vinegar for it too which not all places do. Everything one needs to enjoy. I haven't been in person so I couldn't speak for the service or the location, but if you want a spot that delivers on time and often includes items for free (the pork buns are now free for orders over $50), this is great value and just great food. The cabbage was just sort of thrown in there and to my surprise, there was chicken (I didn't think it came with meat) and it was so suspicious, one bite and I immediately had to spit it out. It was chewy and tasted uncooked. I began to lose my appetite... Sesame Chicken 0/5 - it was all batter, little to NO meat inside whatsoever. Saucy but it was very clumpy. I was so disappointed with this one. It was literally just eating fried batter in sesame sauce with sesame seeds thrown on top. Braised String Beans - 2.5/5. They were fine, flavored enough with the grilled onions and garlic other than that, not impressive at all. I had really high hopes for this place/order. I had been craving Chinese food for so long and was going to order from my typical place but decided to give this one a try. I definitely should have stuck to what I know would have hit the spot. An absolute waste of $50, so frustrating.

I walked into the restaurant about 45 minutes before closing time at 9:30 PM and several other diners came in after I was seated. The unsettled weather made the people hungry for dumplings. Bao is warm and woody and serene on the inside, a great counterpoint to the bustle of Valencia at every hour. Upon entering there is a large window looking on to the kitchen prep area where culinary experts are often at work constructing the food diners later enjoy on their plates. Tonight a couple of wizards were in the process of making chicken potstickers. Even being vegetarian, just seeing how the dumplings and other items are made is like seeing secrets being shared. I love it and it sets the vibe for the restaurant. My order consisted of the steamed vegetarian buns and sautéed string beans. The buns come out beautifully presented and taste even better: the bun itself is just slightly sweet and that sweetness adds an amazing dimension to the chopped fresh vegetables inside. Can't tell you what any of these veggies are individually and I don't care, they are so good. Next came the sautéed string beans and the sear on the beans themselves was perfect and smoky and delicious. The crispness of the sautee makes the string beans a lovely pairing with the soft yummy of the steamed buns. Last came the sesame balls as a sweet meal ending. I love donuts and fresh-made sesame balls are similar to a donut hole just with a filling that is actually food and so sweetly tasty. The outer fry was crisp and the insides absolutely perfect. Quick and tasty spot. Came here to split a siu mai while waiting for my order from another spot…read more The cashier was super friendly and the food came out quickly. Heads up that this is mostly a takeaway spot and they only have 1-2 small tables. The siu mai was fairly big and I liked that the order came with a bunch of sauces- chili oil, soy sauce, and a hot sauce. As a big sauce fan, I appreciated the selection! I'll be back to try most of their selection.

I've only ordered dim sum from here through Too Good to Go (2g2g). Like their Chinatown location,…read moreI find the dim sum to be oily. But overall, it's good. The baked bbq pork buns are sweet with a decent amount of filling. The deep fried dumpling is plump, juicy, and crunchy. The shrimp and chive dumplings are my favorite. It's full of shrimp with a slightly thicker skin, which I think adds a nice chewiness. The veggie egg rolls were okay. I personally wouldn't order those, even if I was craving them. The spare ribs had a really nice savory flavor from the sauce. The egg tarts were okay. I need to note that these bags are leftovers from the day, so they're not as fresh. But they held up the next day so I was able to stretch 2 meals out of them. I can't comment on service since these bags are only for pick up. But they quickly provide the bags once the window open. And it's a small space, with maybe 2 tables. So this place is probably best for to-go orders. Their 2g2g bags have more variety than their Chinatown location. Not sure how many dim sum options there are in the Mission, but I would go here if I was in the area and craving a shrimp and chive dumpling.
