I am a huge fan of dry hotpot and made it my mission to find the best dry hotpot in New York. After a recommendation from a friend, I checked out this spot. I really like how you can pick your own ingredients at $12 a pound. However, they add another $2 for the soup / dry mix and $1 for rice. So while the price per pound is very affordable, it adds up, especially since most other places add additional veggies included in the price. Taste wise I found the mala dry mix very salty. I got it in low spice which is good and comfortable for me, but the amount of salt in the dish made it unbearable to eat without a huge amount of rice. The free dessert they are offering to dine in customers was delicious though. Clean atmosphere and the restaurant looks nice inside.

What en epic experience with dry pot. i wasn't a fan of hot pots or dry pots until i came here. they really do a good job with the seasoning and picking out the ingredients yourself on a line is good too. also very affordable. the staff is nice and helpful as well. i'll totally come back here on chilly day!

A new shop that replaced the AYCE dim sum spot. You go and pick out what you want to eat and they cook it in a style of your choosing. You can do both dry or soup based. This style where you can pick out how much you want is really nice. Other spots that aren't self serve always put too much. Flavor was unique and I actually quite enjoyed it. Spice was good, probably coulda been more spicy but otherwise pretty on point. Service was great and they even gave like a grass jelly dessert that was good. There is a sauce station on the side as well, but I didn't make use of it that much. Would def recommend to others who like mala!

Yangguofu is a prominent national chain in China, specializing in customizable Mala Tang. How it works is the 'pick your own' format for your bowl, offering the choice of a spicy soup or a spicy dry pot. Since there's many options in the area it's less impressive, the warm, flavorful heat is absolutely perfect for hitting the spot on a cold winter day.

Food is surprisingly good: tho a little on the pricy side. And the coupons they give u for $10 off is a scam.

I like how you can get a choice between dry pot and a soup base and they have a few options to choose from.

Food is good, quiet and clean…read more Service is impeccable. My fiance and I drink water like fish. Our glasses were never empty. Warning to all with a pineapple allergy like me: do not eat the duck sauce. If you like spicy ask for hot mustard instead. Orange chicken was crispy and flavorful. I did not find it spicy, but my spice tolerance is very high. My fiance had the chicken with broccoli and it looked amazing. Try the cold noodles. They are chewy and delicious. For me the fried dumplings were good, but not great. Worth a try but nothing to rave over.

I ordered the cured pork with garlic shoots and dry fried green beans. The cured pork was quite salty, and paired well with the buttery, tender leeks it was cooked with. The dish was not overly oily, and was pleasant over white rice. I enjoyed the chewiness of the pork which allowed you to experience the complex flavor. The green beans were well fried, with characteristic texture signature to this dish. The seasoning was very well balanced and not overpowering to the natural sweetness of the green beans. I would recommend either dish. They were both slightly toned down iterations when compared to the times I've eaten these dishes at other Sichuan restaurants in flushing, but still well seasoned and well cooked. The service was very warm and friendly, and many other customers seemed to be returning regulars.

However, the delivery experience has been very uncomfortable. On my last order, I only had $13 left in my bank account and paid $11 for the food. When the delivery driver arrived, he immediately demanded a tip. I explained that I didn't have cash, but he insisted that I send him a tip through Zelle. He stood there and refused to leave until I did it. He literally watched me open my banking app, saw that I only had $2 left in my account, and still waited while I sent those last $2 as a tip. He even checked to make sure the payment went through before leaving. I want to be clear that I do tip when I can, because I understand that delivery drivers work hard. But sometimes money is tight and people are just trying to afford food. Being pressured and essentially forced to tip is extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional.

I was driving home after the beach and wanted to grab something fast so I figured I'd try this new…read moreto me spot on the way home. Big mistake. The food is inedible. I got an order of scallion pancake that is somehow both over and under cooked and just filled with oil. I got a lunch special of chicken with broccoli in a garlic sauce. When I tasted it, I had to check that it was chicken. This was the fishiest, worst chicken with broccoli I've ever had. I called them to make sure it had no fish, they laughed at me and said no but the flavors don't lie. It's in the garbage now uneaten

But when you don't have the luxury of a car and you don't want to pay 40 dollars on UberEats for good Chinese food, you'll be convinced to try your luck in the area. Not gonna lie, I chose Dumpling House because it was the closest Chinese food near me, but I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. The women who greeted me at the counter was friendly and took my order: one large hot and sour soup and a small house special fried rice. I wouldn't recommend coming on a hot day because the shop can be hot if you're waiting for takeout, but the wait wasn't too long. After about 15 to 20 minutes, I was walking home with $11 dollar takeout. The hot and sour soup is pretty good and I've had a lot of hot and sour soup in my life. The consistency is not too thin or thick and the flavor is balanced (not too sweet or sour). For 5 dollars, I think it's a steal. The house special rice is good and not too greasy. For some reason, it still tasted Americanized even with the Asian ingredients I was used to. There was some chicken, barbecue pork, mixed veggies, egg, etc. and the ingredients mixed well despite it tasting American. Even though I got a small rice, I still had some leftover to eat the next day. Despite my obviously biased Asian tastebuds, I was very happy with what I got and I will definitely be back for some more hot and sour soup!

When life is lackadaisical and you need an uplifting force or encouragement for catharsis to be resilient as an awakening, dumplings are summoned. It brings presence to every bite for awareness and genuine aliveness. My emotional pain cannot be disconnected for healing. As I sat in silence I checked my email waiting for my order fulfillment and arrival. This business is a local cafe, not quite a restaurant but very Asian specifically a medley of Chinese dumplings and heavy Japanese decor atmosphere. I was very bewildered of this dumpling business is Japanese or Chinese cuisine, or possibly both incorporated? Asian fusion? Japanese beckoning cat, maneki-neko 招き猫, is heavy presence for decor atmosphere throughout the entire cafe. There is one large Japanese beckoning cat with one paw raised in a beckoning gesture by the cash wrap register. This beckoning cat is adorable! The menu is very simple offerings but does not describe the contents in detail. It is not a extensive list as it is a cafe. The server/cashier advise to order first, sit to eat and pay last like a full service restaurant. This business has been listed in my Yelp bookmark to try for a long time. The slightly warm temperature has teased me to induce Spring Fever as the first full day post Daylight Saving Time, 2026 and I was outdoors for walk as exercise. Sauces and condiments are available at a station counter. There is one large TV. Background music is somewhat loud audible and sourced by Spotify. Customer service is average. There is one unisex facility on the premise and is relatively clean. There is a small parking lot in the front shared with neighboring businesses. This business is located in a small shopping complex named Metro Plaza. Chicken dumpling noodle soup, $12.00 The dumplings were pan seared fried, unfortunately not traditionally boiled especially for noodle soup. The dumplings are average. The noodles were rice vermicelli with half boiled egg and scallions in Japanese Tonkotsu Ramen soup base broth. The Japanese Tonkotsu Ramen soup base broth and half boiled egg is a replica of Japanese Ramen noodle soup. It was served piping hot. Chinese soup spoon Tangzhi ladle where the end is at a angle is provided with one disposable wooden chopstick as utensils. Jasmine Tea, cold $1.50 This was awful! It was one tea bag filled with ice. I did not taste the Jasmine aromatic flavor. Stay away from ordering any drink as Song Dumpling Cafe is good for dumplings. It is certainly no bubble tea business to obtain quality Chinese tea. After my MTA NYC Transit SBS Q52 bus ride, I walked from Woodhaven Boulevard moving east on Metropolitan Avenue to gain access.
