The mixed veg shumai were quite unique, and had a similar filling to spring rolls. Taro dumplings were dry which isn't surprising of taro, you'd need a good amount of sauce. The store is tiny with a few seats and no frills but their dumplings pack a lot of flavor. I got their soup dumplings and wonton soup as well as a homemade iced citron tea drink. I feel like Song's is a little hidden gem! Scrolled through Uber eats and found this place when I was craving some steamed roast pork buns. Now Song's doesn't exactly have an extensive menu, but what they do, they do well. They offer different types of dumplings, buns, and shumai, as well as scallion pancakes. Everything was delicious! I like Song's dumpling cafe but I have my doubts. There was no air conditioning, I didn't question why and there was also a giant fan providing lots of air circulation, all is good. You order at the counter and they bring you the food and you pay at the counter after you finish eating. I ate here alone because I have no friends and I ordered a few things I wanted to try. I had the BBQ beef, pork&shrimp, and soup dumplings. I also ordered a scallion pancake and taro milk tea. The dumplings were ok, all one biters. Not the best I had but not the worse. Which is pretty much the same rating for all the food here. Now my doubts, the soup dumplings immediately gave me a very familiar sensation as I picked it up with chopsticks, the way the chopsticks can grip the top of the soup dumpling. The taste as I placed the first one in my mouth, the way the soup bursts out of the dumpling, the flavor and the way the heat dissipates. It is all too familiar. We ordered a dozen pan-fried dumplings split between Pork and Shrimp; and Japanese Chicken. The former was OK, but the texture of the meat in the latter could have passed for fish. The dumplings were on the small side. We also ordered some steamed roast pork buns (three for $4.99), which were greasy and used a mince with bits, instead of chunks, of meat. The flavor of the buns is OK, but I hope Song's will consider including more meat. read more
