This place is packed on the weekend Dim Sum. Everything is fresh with a good selection of foods. Service is fast. The place is clean . Parkig lots outside the restaurant and street parking are easy to find too.
What a selection when it comes to Dim Sum. Been to other Dim Sum places in flushing and you get tired of the same Dim Sum dishes being pushed around. Very impressed with the selection when it comes to Dim Sum here at Canton Manor. Service is good. It's so busy on the weekend, yet the waiters come around and show you other dishes that you may be interested in from vegetable, lobster, duck, noodles. Oh My! We stayed just for the Dim Sum and was very satisfied. Ladies with Dim Sum carts coming by to share what items were in the carts. Love the ambiance here. Comfortable chairs and tables. No pressure to dine and dash like in other places where there were long lines of people waiting for a table. There is even a parking lot at Canton Manor. Also parking available on the street and nearby. No need to go to Flushing, NY for Dim Sum. Thank You goes to Andie for hosting another amazing CMYE. Got to break bread and dine with Caroline and Napolean. Will definitely be back to try their lunch and dinner menus.
come for the à la carte items but not the dim sum. the har gow kinda not good - it was falling apart and the wrapper was thick. peking duck kinda mid but to be expected for a canto place. everything else pretty yummy! in particular i really liked the pea shoots HAHA and the soup was very flavorful. seafood is good here. service is very standard for dim sum restaurants. i think somewhere like asian jewels does better dim sum but this place has better menu items when you order! very standard dim sum restaurant vibe with the carts and stuff also
THE FOOD ---------------- + Great variety of different dim sum dishes. All of the traditional faves were available. We tried beef rice rolls, shrimp rice rolls, shrimp dumplings, pork and shrimp dumplings, chicken feet, roast pork buns (including the pineapple version), sesame mochi custard buns, molten custard buns, sticky rice, short ribs, cruller rice rolls, malay sponge cake rolls, coconut jell-o. + ALL of the dim sum was fresh and the quality was excellllent. Didn't have a single gripe about any of it. + Shredded Chicken Pan Fried Noodle - EXCELLLLENT. Noodles were extraaaaa crispy and the sauce didn't overwhelm the noodle. Only complaint was that the sauce was a littttttle saltier than needed. THE SERVICE ------------------- + They have the old school cart ladies driving around with dim sum in them, which I am ALWAYS for. It doesn't feel like the full dim sum experience without them. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------- + Spacious interior with LOTs of tables. + Private parking lot was a MAJOR plus in NYC as it's such a rarity for restaurants here. The lot was tight, but had a good number of spots. Gets full on weekends, however turnover is quick. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS ------------------------------------- + Dropped in with my family and a group of friends at 12:15 PM and, surprisingly, didn't have to wait long for a table for 10 people. If we had 2-4 people only, we would not have waited more than 5 minutes!
My family and I came back to Canton Manor to celebrate my niece's 1st birthday on February 21st and my birthday on May 28th. For my niece's 1st birthday, we had a private room reserved for us with 2 tables downstairs. There are a few private rooms. On May 28th, we were the first group for dinner service and it definitely got crowded after we arrived. It seems like 5-5:30pm is the time before it gets very busy. Every time I come to Canton Manor, the service is always great and the food is delicious. Also, I always have boxes of food to take home. Canton Manor food is consistently excellent and hits all the right flavor notes. I definitely recommend everyone to come to Canton Manor for a great meal, either for dim sum or for more entrees type dishes. It has become my family's go to restaurant now.
Lots of variety and like most Chinese dim sum places lots of chatter and clatter :) I was between 3 and 4 stars but given how hard I usually make places earn a 4 star, I gave this place a 3. Mainly because it's tight spaces (which is quite normal in bayside) and crowd control. It does has parking in the back, which is nice. They still have dim sum push cart with lots of options for steamed, stir fried, and stewed options. The place is definitely bustling on a Sunday. The wait staff is efficient but don't expect fancy.
- Private parking lot with a decent number of spaces, though you may still have to wait for a spot during peak weekend dim sum hours - Spacious dining room with plenty of tables to accommodate parties of all sizes; there's also a staircase toward the back left that appeared to lead to additional seating downstairs, though I didn't get a chance to confirm - The restaurant was busy when we arrived around 12:10p on a Saturday--smaller tables turned over fairly quickly, but larger parties waited longer; we waited about 25 mins to be seated with a party of 10 - Service left something to be desired--the waitstaff weren't particularly friendly, and while the dim sum cart attendants were pleasant enough, they were also quite pushy and often tried to place dishes on the table before you had a chance to say no - The dim sum was decent overall--there was a good selection available, and the carts came around frequently, so it was easy to try a variety of dishes: most items arrived hot, but the quality was a bit inconsistent; the noodle dishes were generously portioned and nicely presented--the chicken chow mein had very crispy noodles and just enough sauce to keep them from getting soggy, but part of it was slightly burnt and the sauce was saltier than I would have liked
Cuisine: 9 Service: 7 Decor: 7 Value: 8 Overall: 9 Do you remember Imperial Palace in downtown Flushing? No? Then you're too young. It was considered THE best Cantonese restaurant a decade ago in Flushing by many people, including myself. Sadly, a fire nearby shut it down. Thankfully, they reopened quickly and still putting out great food. For our recent meal, we were celebrating and ordered some amazing seafood. Check out my pictures/videos for the presentation of our 7lbs lobster and 5lbs geoduck sashimi. Wow! Everything tasted so fresh and delicious. Other dishes were very well made as well. The group really loved the Steamed Big Mouth Bass and Steamed Pacific Oysters w/ Black Bean Sauce. The rest of the dishes were all excellent too. We were super happy with the meal.
We enjoyed an extraordinary dining experience at Canton Manor, celebrating family milestones. We had a private room for 11 people. The highlight was the king crab, which was cooked in three different ways, fried with an extra extraordinary sauce on it, over rice, noodles, and Assay fried rice. All we're delicious We also had a Chinese fish and black bean sauce, beef, chow, fond, roasted chicken, how special may I, pork chops, sweet-and-sour, sautéed spinach and, even more delicious, sautéed baby leaves. It was extraordinary, service was great. The wait staff are expert and all dressed in tuxedos. Special thanks to lead, Betti. The Restaurant is very busy and Reservations are you must it's been a very convenient location on Northern Boulevard in Bayside, just west of the Cross Island Parkway. There is a parking lot. The main floor is ADA accessible.
Came on a Saturday morning for dim sum around 10:45am. Was already packed but luckily it was just two of us so we got seated on the side right away. Tons of carts came by immediately and we probably ordered all our dishes within 10 minutes of getting seated. Dim sum is fresh and they have some special items too when the manager walks around with the metal tray. Love their pineapple buns. Parking lot gets super packed during dim sum times, might be hard to find a spot in the lot if coming after 11am on the weekend.
Finally get the chance to get into and dined to this restaurant. We came during their dim sum hour so we took advantage of it , we could always come back for lunch or dinner dining some other time. This is not the closest dim sum near me but parking is way better than going to Northern Blvd near Douglaston or Flushing area. We had the all time favorites like congee, shumai, egg roll, braised beef, sticky rice , Chinese brocolli , and sesame ball, pork bun, custard for desserts. It may not have the best dim sum selections but the service is unimaginable fast. Pricing is average and taste is just alright. The dining room is huge. It has a private room for party. It has live tank if decided to order fresh catch seafoods. The place is descent in terms of cleanliness. A good alternative instead of going to Flushing. Our craving was satisfied.
4.5 Has a large dining area with round tables and smaller ones. The spaces between the tables are not that wide so I thought no dimsum carts but actually they still had small ones. Picked a few (priced as medium and large) and they were all good. The salted egg bun was delicious; eat when not too hot. I like the Lunch special menu, prices and portions were good as well. The seafood with eggplant casserole I think had more and varied seafood, compared to lunch portions at other places. The steamed bean curd with scallops in black beans was simply that but tasty. On Northern Boulevard, but not as busy area, and has a parking lot.
We were looking for Cantonese food and decided to try out this spot and it didn't disappoint. We had the salt and pepper pork chops, sautéed beef with peppers, cold chicken and beef and pan fried noodles. Service was great and food appeared in a timely manner. Plenty of parking in the lot.

9/19 I was invited out for UYE at Canton Manor to have brunch with a couple of friends and a mutual friend. Viewing the restaurant and the food on Yelp, I decided that I would come out strictly for the company. I would like to thank Andie for introducing me to Canton manor for Dim Sum because I would have never come here on my own. I can't say that this is not my type of food because I have not tried Dim Sum for breakfast but I will admit, I knocked it before I tried it. I really enjoyed my experience but even more, I enjoyed the small group that I ate with because they coached me and taught me new things and educated me on the history and procedure when someone pours your tea. I guess the saying " you learn something new everyday" was in full effect on that day! Shrugs. Thank you Jane L and Caroline N. I am so happy that they have a parking lot, I did not have a problem parking, due to me passing the restaurant and turning on the street opposite the huge parking lot that I passed! HA! I tried several items that were set before me and I only found one item to be the least. That was the item that looked like a pig.(see pic). My final analysis- I would come again, only if I am with people who know what they are ordering so that the employees that are bringing the items around on a cart would not need to struggle with me trying to explain what the items and ingredients are. So if you have never tried this restaurant take my advice, DON'T KNOCK IT UNTIL YOU'VE TRIED IT. This place sells Dim Sum and then some! Inspire more, Yelp more! read more

Canton Manor is a classic, no frills Cantonese dim sum spot that delivers exactly what you want on a weekend morning. The dining room has that old school banquet hall feel with round tables, tea pots, and servers moving quickly between tables. It feels authentic and lively without being chaotic. We ordered a mix of staples: har gow, shrimp cheung fun, and baked roast pork buns. The har gow were generously sized and packed with shrimp.The cheung fun had a smooth, silky rice noodle with just the right amount of soy sauce. The baked buns were warm, slightly sweet on top, and very satisfying. Portions are solid and filling. This is not a tiny tasting menu style dim sum place. You leave comfortably full. One tip: avoid the tables near the entrance in colder weather. They catch a noticeable draft. Sit deeper inside the dining room for a more comfortable experience. read more

I placed my order on the phone, which was painless and efficient and was told the order would take about 15 minutes. I ordered beef chow fun, seafood pan fried noodle, salted fish and diced chicken fried rice, and sauteed clam with black bean sauce (menu says black sean sauce lol). It really did only take 15 minutes for the food to be ready. When I got back home which was about 5 minutes away on this very cold night, the food was still very hot and did not need any microwaving. My family of 4 and my mother in law all really loved the dishes. We will definitely try other items of the menu and look forward to trying out their dim sum during the day time. Parking isnt too bad as they have their own parking lot and there is street parking as well. Definitely come here if you want delicious Cantonese food. read more
Canton Manor is absolutely delicious authentic Chinese dim sum great service good parking and we had you my Hacau, beef tripe rice ordered the entire menu. It was a great experience for couples and family to dine in. You don't have to go to Flushing anymore. You can eat this in Bayside and as good as going into the heart of the dragon in Chinatown. read more

We were one of the first customers there and the place was freezing, likely the heat was turned down really low overnight. The dimsum ladies had the cart out very quickly with lots of choices. As there were only the two of us, eight dimsum dishes was the most we can handle. read more

Came here previously for Dim Sum, this time for a Post Chinese New Year's Eve Dinner with my brother and Mom. They have a parking lot but get here early as it fills up. Staff was friendly and attentive nd got seated right away. Ordered 5 dishes, sorry, didn't get the names of the dishes but you can see my pics. The soup was really really good. In fact ask the dishes were awesome. The shrimp in mayor sauce was cooked perfectly. The beef dish was so tender. The fried fish - I could eat that all day. Usually when I got to these type of dinners, there's usually a dish or two that was just ok. These were all excellent. There was a Lobster Fried Rice dish that another table got that looked really good. Have to come back to try the other dishes. But at the same time, I want these dishes all over again. read more

If you're looking for authentic Chinese food, you have to try Canton Manor. All meals are served family style, with a rotating glass centerpiece on each table so everyone can easily share and sample each dish. The duck was one of the best I've ever had--crispy on the outside and perfectly tender inside. The beef was also a standout: juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. There's a huge variety of dishes to choose from, so there's something for everyone. The staff is friendly, the service is smooth, and the atmosphere is casual and welcoming. A fantastic spot for both small groups and big family gatherings. read more
Was in the area so we stopped in for dim sum for lunch. The place was filled with Chinese people enjoying their tea and dim sum. Service was friendly and the pushcart ladies were busy offering all their dishes, especially things fresh out of the kitchen. The egg tarts were the delicious flaky crusted ones. read more
Are you a fan of salt and pepper pork chops? Do you love dim sum? If so, this is a spot worth checking out. I've visited this place several times for dim sum and have also ordered takeout. When dining in, although there may be a line, it usually moves fairly quickly and the food comes at you fast and furious, and it's always so busy that I forget to take pictures. They've changed up the interior from the previous restaurant (BCD Tofu House), but there's nothing particularly noteworthy about the decor. The servers and dim sum cart attendants are constantly checking in, asking if you want something from the carts--it can be a bit overwhelming. Most of them are pretty friendly, though a few could smile a bit more or at least appear more approachable. On our most recent visit, we weren't in the mood for the hustle and bustle, so we opted for takeout. We got har gow (shrimp dumplings), beef lo mein, and of course, my favorite--salt and pepper pork chops. Since this place is known for its dim sum, the har gow was solid, filled with chunky shrimp. The beef lo mein isn't your typical takeout version. It includes Chinese celery, mushrooms, and red onions instead of the usual yellow ones. Is it the best lo mein I've ever had? Probably not, but I like that they try to elevate it. Last but not least, the salt and pepper pork chops are crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. They do a great job making sure the pieces aren't dry. If you're in Bayside, don't mind a busy restaurant, and want some good food, check out Canton Manor. read more

I'm pleasantly surprised by this place. The dim sum offerings are quite abundant and fresh, the workers are all very friendly, and the prices are great (compared to the city where each item is at least $2 more). The place doesn't feel crowded even though when we went on a Friday, it was full house. The dishes we ordered were also not bad, and prices are good as well. There's a parking lot on site, but you can also easily find street parking. Will definitely come back for dim sum / dinner when we're in Queens. This seems to be a much better option than most Cantonese places in Flushing. read more
This place is a no frills Cantonese restaurant. You're bound to leave full and content and there is something for everyone! My favorites from this place are the walnut mayo shrimp, sautéed pea shoots and ginger scallion lobster. The food comes out piping hot and super fresh! They also let you run the show! Want to bring a cake? Sure. Wants BYOB? Sure. Need a private area? Sure. Need a table for gifts? Sure. Celebrations here are so easy! Just a note- many of the employees don't speak English fluently so it's always good to come with someone that speaks Chinese (which I have done). I am sure they can find someone more fluent in English but I haven't had an issue. read more

Came here for a birthday dinner on a Saturday. While the service is typically for an asian restaurant we felt very rushed. They served the food so fast that we didn't even get to enjoy one dish and then another was placed on the table. The food was good. Everything tasted freshly made. Good flavoring not overly salty. I will say the restaurant is pretty pricey but once in a while its nice to splurge. The restaurant has a small parking lot so if you are lucky you wont need to look for street parking. read more
