We were in the neighborhood and picked the nearest place to stop in for a late lunch. Opted for the tomato broth because of the kids. It was lukewarm and very dense. The fish fillets were a bit bland. We picked the fried crullers and fish skin as the sides, both were fine, nothing to write home about. To be fair, we came during an awkward time between lunch & dinner service, so it could just be an off time for them. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is adorable and well decorated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]
They always got good service. The noodle dishes are new add on. Now they serve fresh handmade hand pulled noodle. We usually come here for the pickles mustard fish stew for lunch or dinner. The noodle portion is huge. If any improvements is needed, I would say to have an option of extra protein ( beef ) to match the portion of noodle. If you love the noodle dish, this should be a new spot to enjoy noodle. You mostly won't need to wait during the lunch expect to wait during dinner time.

The broth was rich, flavorful, and comforting without being overly salty. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the portions were generous for the price. Food quality drops a lot. I guess it was my fault for not telling them I want fish/beef but they didnt ask and gave me all fish. Soup was not hot, it was rather room temperature. And the worst, fishes were stick together, it was supermarket version of it. Very disappointed

Food: For the add-ins, I recommend the pork meatballs and wide starch noodles. They were so good! The fish pieces that come in the big pot are a great texture and they don't taste fishy. For the small dishes, I recommend the crispy fried pork belly, spicy sour fern starch noodles, and takoyaki. But my family LOVED the house made fresh milk mochi. Cannot recommend it enough. ZERO stars, I ordered on fantuan and they falsely advertised this item, and refused to give a refund. It is CLEARLY missing the spicy sauce AND potatoes. Restaurant refuses to acknowledge their own mistake, fantuan is also useless and never listens to the customer and simply says "the restaurant says it was prepared correctly" well then show a picture of it correctly.
Awesome air conditioning so you can eat hot fish soup even when the weather is warm. Combo for 2 is great for two people. I can't finish all the food. They give a lot of fish. The soup broth is savory with pickled vegetables, fried garlic and other flavors. Excellent soup broth. Service was nice and dishes came out quick. Seating is comfy and spacious.

SPICY! Definitely be prepared to sweat while you eat this. I thought I could handle spicy but not like this. We tried two different soups: the Signature Spicy Sour with Fish and the Vine Pepper Numbing Flavor with Fish and Beef. They were both labeled as mild spicy but man, were they spicy! We got the Best-Value Combo which was indeed a really good value. For the small, you get 2 add-ons, 2 side dishes, and 2 bowls of rice. There's a wide variety of sides, ranging from cold, spicy dishes to sweet, fried desserts. We tried the Spiced Chicken, Fried Milk Custard, Fried Chinese Buns, and Crispy Fried Fish Skin. Everything was really good and I'd definitely come back again. I ordered the monstrous plate chicken w/noodles from Uber eats. It was ok, pretty bland, in the photo it looked like it was spicy but it was not spicy at all. Would be better with some chili oil. However, the portion is huge, could easily feed 2 people. The pieces of chicken were good it came with peppers, potatoes and onions as well. I like how you can choose the thickness of your noodle, I think next time I will order the noodles thicker. In the photo the noodles were thick so I thought the normal size was thick. read more

Been wanting to try this place for a while now after seeing the wide noodles on tiktok. The noodles are super chewy which I really liked & the spicy noodles are not spicy (a plus for someone who can't handle spicy). Really liked the spicy beef noodles. Would recommend to a friend! read more

We had such a great experience here. The menu is simple, minimal choices (in a good way), tasty, and with generous portions. We had the medium soup with said is for 3-4 people but really should be 5-6. We had seconds and thirds and there was still plenty to take home. The service was fast, friendly, and even though seating is limited, we never felt rushed to leave. The atmosphere was also very chill so you can chat away and as loud as you want. Will be back to try the other stuff. Btw- the century egg over jalapeño wedges...amazing read more
I've never seen a restaurant bring out such a huge dish of stew this quickly! B2J Tasty Pot is a fantastic and unique addition to Bayside's food scene. For those unfamiliar with this style of Chinese cuisine, imagine "hot pot" with all the ingredients fully cooked. No need to wait for food to finish cooking in a steaming pot of water. Be sure to bring some eager eaters that can quickly finish this stew before the dish grows cold. You can also add on some small dishes to accompany the dish, like grilled chicken wings, (very crispy) takoyaki, and a sweet milk mochi to round out your meal! read more

This is basically the fast food version of szechuan food, and like all fast food it is quick, cheap, and convenient. But the quality, flavors, and freshness sets B2J far apart from mcdonald's, they are serving up hearty meals with authentic szechuan spices. The mouth watering chicken is one of the best renditions of cold szechuan chili chicken I've tried in the city, and the hot pots garnished with your protein and veggies of choice are perfectly seasoned to replicate szechuan mala flavors! B2J has been on my list to check out ever since they opened up! I came last month on a random Wednesday night and it wasn't crowded. We ordered the combo for two, which included the small size pot, 2 appetizers and 2 bowls of rice. For the pot, we got the the beef and fish pot in the tomato soup flavor. I'm always worried that the spicy will be tooo spicy, but will definitely be back to try it! The soup came with frozen tofu and you could choose 2 add-ons. For the appetizers, we chose the crispy fried pork belly which was amazing, and the house made fried milk custard. The milk custard was very interesting, but I wouldn't get it again. They had a promotion where if you suggest to 2 friends to check out B2J, they give you a free milk mochi dessert. We did this and it was really good! It was a good portion size, I was able to bring some back home. Service was quick, our waitress was super nice! Will be back to try some other things! read more

A brand new restaurant in bayside with a modern design started with a unwelcoming impression of sticky table. The menu, from the look of it, was relatively simple. On the left side, there was a la carte fish with the selection of 3 different soup bases, combos, and drinks. The left was add-on to the fish, appetizers, and deserts. Just a quick warning, the big number price was for single order fish(a la carte) while the tiny number price inside the parentheses was for their combo. I am not sure what was the point of hiding the price maybe to force the customer to order the expensive one without noticing. The service was decent as the server kept refilling the water. We got two people fish combo with spiced chicken and takoyaki without realizing the price difference. The price for two people combo was $65.99. As expected the takoyaki was deep fried with nothing special. The spiced chicken on the other hand was pretty good. The fish fillet inside the Spicy sour( just pickled or fermented vegetables) soup base was soft. The soup base was mild in taste, not spicy, not that sour, and oily. read more

Such a nice experience dining here . The service is super nice! Stuffs are very patient, friendly, caring and willing to recommend some dishes to us. Atmosphere is very nice too. Traditional Chinese decoration and have their own characteristics. We ordered Fish Combo for three which includes a medium size pot, with three Add-at, and three appetizers. We choose Sweet Rice Stuffed Lotus Root, Housemade Fried Milk Custard, Housemade Sticky Rice Cake. They all taste really good. Fish won't be too spicy, it's tender and fresh. I've only been to Bayside a few times, but it seems like the Asian food here is always bussing, and B2J Tasty Pot is no different. I came here with family and friends, and overall, we enjoyed the meal. The portions were decent. We had a group of six, and the combo for four, along with half a dozen appetizers, was more than enough for us--though, to be fair, four of the women didn't eat that much. Food-wise, the cucumber salad and starch noodles were just okay--nothing extraordinary, but they provided a refreshing and cool contrast to the piping hot and spicy dishes. The fried pork belly, on the other hand, was the standout appetizer. It had a perfectly crunchy exterior and a juicy interior that was pretty delicious. We ordered the fish combo for four, and the portion size was huge. The fish slices were generous, and the add-ons really elevated the stew. However, toward the end of the meal, I noticed the fish and other ingredients had become overly salty to the point of being difficult to eat without a lot of rice. I'm not sure if it was due to the extended stewing in the salty broth or if I just became more aware of it as the meal progressed, but it was a bit of a letdown. The décor was nice and clean, with a cozy Asian vibe, and the service was quick--though we did come right when they opened, so we had the place to ourselves. Despite some misses with the food, I would still recommend B2J Tasty Pot for its unique cuisine and great location. B2J is such a great addition to Bell Blvd! They have great high value combo meals that have huge portions (guaranteed leftovers) with included appetizers which add variety to the meal (fried milk custard, crispy pork belly, you tiao, etc). You can also swap the fish in the pot for fish and beef which is also nice if you like beef. It's nice to be able to get this kind of food outside of Flushing. read more

Tried the basic fish soup (big enough for two), thousand years egg, fern starch noodles, and the fresh milk mochi. All of the above were amazing, well above average. The fish and tofu in the soup were very very good. Friendly service, good atmosphere, affordable prices. Highly recommend. read more

2025 July 12: we ordered a combination small hot pot for two with mild spiciness. Chilli chicken and and pork deep fried for appetizer. To the hot pot we added noodles and lotus roots. Authentic and spicy and delicious!!! read more

Friends recommended this place few weeks ago and we decided to give a try! Heres my experience. 5/5 - FOOD is absolutely amazing. The price you pay and the amount of food you get is just incredible! We couldn't finish it because the side dishes are actually normal dish size. I love the pepper chicken, not spicy at all but very flavorful. My husband ordered the rice cake, tasted like dessert!! Would definitely try other dishes next time!! 5/5 - SERVICE was great! She's either the waitress or the owner, and recommended some of the dishes. I asked to make it less spicier and she was able to customize it for us. We had some left over food and she packed it then provided some advices of how to heat it up at home. The takeout package looks expensive and very useful. 5/5 - Decor/environment. Really there's nothing to complain. I love the minimalistic design. Very spacious, comfy and a great place for friends and family gatherings!! Highly recommend this place! read more

Delicious a la carte pot - the tomato broth is not spicy, and not as tomatoey as I expected, which is good. The black noodles and black mushrooms are great and the century egg is a cool thing to try - do not be afraid, it doesn't taste like it's rotten, very unique. Very good service and kind staff, neat ambiance. Milk Mochi dessert is also very unique and delicious. read more
