10/23/25. Pork dumplings in chili oil ($9.95) and spareribs ($10.95) were delicious. Shrimp with vegetables and chili flounder ($25.95) were perfect. Service and drinks by Lilly? were not up to par. 4 stars is a stretch this visit. Service needs improvement!!

My beloved Dou Ban fish

We have been customers for 10 years. Not even once we don't enjoy homey establishment. The people the food the service always make us feel warm inside. Linda and Richard s hospitality is magical. There are many Sichuan restaurants out there, however, by the family vote, we always always end up coming to Chef Wang. The food is by far from being distinctive! Our go to dishes are whole fish in whatever forms, double-cooked pork belly ( extremely high quality meat in a golden fat/lean pork ration. Another unique thing Chef Wang offers is the piano where no other Chinese restaurants would even has that vision. My son plays on his every visit. Linda, the chef (her husband and Richard enjoy his play very much. He gets his complimentary ice cream for his music. This is also plays as our family fun. Today our waiter is Kevin, a rather young , gentle, scholar-like and detailed man. He makes our dining experience very pleasant. Thank you Kevin. Prior to coming to Cher Wang, we looked at Fan Chinese Cuisine and Chengdu Chinese restaurant. Nevertheless, we all feel Chef Wang is the BEST bet without a doubt!

Excellent food and service. Ordered the steamed fish w vermicelli noodles which is our usual favorite. Spare ribs app, shrimp fried rice, vegetable dishes, and sesame chicken. We come here often and love this place.

I think it's better to take out from Chef Wang. I haven't enjoyed my dining experiences here... the service is just ok and it's always cold inside. The coy pond is a nice touch, but I prefer their takeout, and with that said I really only like their beef with vegetables. That dish is pretty tasty, but I don't really like much else, unfortunately.

Delicious apps: spicy tripe and green bean jelly, soup was good The entres were not as good as expected.. -grilled fish was not fresh -sushi was okay -duck was good (our favorite dish) -pork intestine was bland no garlic taste Price was reasonable, also didn't use too much msg I'm not incredibly thirsty.

My Dad use to rave about this place so I thought I'd try it. I ordered a vegetable Pad Tai. Where are the vegetables? And the flavor?! There were a couple pieces of Chinese corn and a tiny bit of shredded cabbage in a Tupperware of noodles for $18.32! Never again!

One of the things I love most is amazing food and almost every dish at Chef Wangs is top notch! I've had the Salt & Pepper Squid, Crispy Beef, Peking duck and so much more. The dish that stood out more than anything else though are the Cumin ribs! These are my absolute favorite, love love love them A close second is the salt & pepper fish. The fish is perfectly seasoned & it just melts in your mouth. I can have this everyday without getting bored of it. It's pretty spacious inside, so you don't have to worry about it getting too cramped. Whenever I'm in the area I always have to stop in for Chef Wangs, absolutely love this place

I came here after reading the splendid review of Yelp Elite Cher Y. I took her recommendation to order the "Cheng Du spicy aromatic crispy fish". I did not see it on the menu, so I showed the waiter her review, and he told me that the " Hot Spicy Crispy Sliced Fish" is what she had. One word: amazing. This is the best Sichuan (spicy Southwestern Chinese food) that I have had outside of Flushing. The food stayed fresh the next day. Although the brown rice tempered the spiciness of the food, next time I will order any Sichuan dish mild due to personal health concerns. The Wonton Soup was made Chinese style (thin-skinned wontons). That's how I like it. I do not patronize any Chinese restaurant unless they make it that way. It was definitely worth the trip out here from Suffolk County. I will soon be back!

Sichuan Spicy Ma Po Tofu

I am obsessed with this place!! It is so beautiful and everyone is so nice! I frequently get the ma po tofu, which has the perfect amount of spice and flavor. For me, this dish provides 3 meals. I can't get enough. I tried the fish in hot chili oil recently and wow, the flavor is so good and the fish just melts away in your mouth. I love the orange slices and fortune cookie they provide with the bill. There's a small koi fish pond at the entrance. I've seen turtles too. I just pray that they're well taken care of, but the water and are does look clean. I dine here on my own sometimes with a book, and they just let me be. I never feel rushed to leave. Will for sure be back again and again. Highly recommend!

Ask the Community - Chef Wang

Do they serve fish eggs for the sushi?

Never eaten sushi there, only Chinese. Why not call today to ask!

How spicy is the mapo tofu? If I have an order through grub hub, would you be able to make it less spicy?

It's very spicy and good! This is a Szechuan place! Bet if you call in an order, can request to be less hot. This is a great restaurant that deserves to be supported now. Call to ask!

How is the duck and preserved radish soup? What does it taste like? Does it come with noodles?

Little spicy and duck is on the bone And little sour too.

How does their hot pot option work? Can you pick out all ingredients buffet-style?

Sorry. We are no longer serve hot pot because only a few people order that each week. It’s very difficult to keep ingredients fresh.

What a hidden unassuming GEM, right in the middle of Franklin Square! This restaurant is family…read moreowned/run and has been in business for about 2 years. The restaurant is smallish and can probably seat up to 18ppl. This is a unique Harbin restaurant (the Capital region of a Providence in Northeast China). This authentic cuisine is hard to find; even in Flushing, Queens! On their store awning, it states "We Make Real Chinese Food".... They ain't kidding!! Note: Closed on Tuesdays! We went for lunch on a Saturday, and the restaurant was full of Asian people. There was a steady flow of Asians the entire 2.5 hrs we were there! (Yes, we had a leisurely 2.5 hr lunch; catching up with friends from out of town. lol) Our menu (shared by 4 adults, 1 child): -- House Special Dumplings ($18/12pcs): we ordered these boiled. Tasty; especially with the chili sauce and vinegar. -- Sauteed Tofu Sheet w.Chili Peppers $18: traditional Northeast China dish. Good but would have been better with more chili peppers. We added chili oil for an extra kick. -- Double Cooked Pork w.Sweet & Sour Sauce $20: Excellent dish! Preparation is very unique! There was no actual sweet & sour "sauce" but rather, the sweet & sour condiments were cooked into the batter of the pork. Loved this dish! Get this! -- Mala Lamb Ribs $28: Another Excellent dish! The spicy and numbing Mala taste was obvious without being overly spicy. Great flavors, Great texture. Get this! -- Pork Fried Noodles $15: All noodles are hand-pulled on-site, with noodle chefs having over 20 years of experience. This dish was made with just ONE very long noodle! Served with a pair of scissors. lol Great texture, and soooo satisfying! Even better with some chili oil! This had limited protein but a good dish nonetheless. -- Northeastern Style Braised Pork Elbow $36: Excellent dish! Huge portion. Perfectly braised, fall-off-the bone deliciousness. It was slightly salty, so definitely eat this with some rice. Get this! -- Rice ($2/bowl): entrees do NOT come with rice, so order on the side. -- Condiments: on each table, there is a condiments tray consisting of chili oil, vinegar, soy sauce, and salt/pepper. Definitely try their chili oil and vinegar. This really enhanced the flavors of the food. But some of the dishes didn't need condiments at all, and were terrific as served. Customer service was so warm, welcoming and friendly! They are happy to answer any questions you may have, and offered great suggestions. So, if you've never had Harbin Cuisine before, peruse the 6 page menu and ask questions before ordering! Lots of great dishes on their menu! Parking: street parking is available (in front and on the side road). They do have a small parking lot in back but spots are limited since it's a shared lot. Looking forward to a return visit to explore their menu. What a treat!! Thanks to Y&Z for a wonderful 1st experience at your restaurant!

There is a certain taste to lzbns which is described as "xian", and this soup has it. The pork sauerkraut dumplings were also great, as a Northeastern Chinese (Harbin) restaurant, the dumplings were as chonky as I expected with great wrapper texture. They give free pickled veg (pickled with Sichuan peppercorns!) and watermelon as well. Staff was attentive, I came on a Sunday dinner 630pm, was quiet, mostly takeout orders. Wonderful restaurant, definitely eat in if you can for the freshest experience.

We were served tea and crispy noodles with duck sauce immediately when we sat. The tea was very good. Drinks are very reasonable compared to other restaurants. My cosmo and my husband's Zobie were $13.00 each. The menu is extensive. It's authentic but they have classic dishes also. We had the tangerine beef and general tso's chicken. The beef was good, but the chicken dish was excellent and white meat only. The portions are huge so next time we will probably split a meat dish and a noodle dish. The larger round tables have a lazy Susan in the center and would be perfect for a group to share. Restaurant was clean and bright. You can tell it used to be a diner but we didn't care about that. From the moment you walk in, the entire team is welcoming and warm, but Tiffany truly stands out. She is gracious, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful--someone who remembers you and makes you feel like more than just a table. Tonight, when things slowed down a bit, we had the chance to catch up and share a few laughs, which made the evening feel even more special. As for the food, it was just as impressive. I had the twin lobster with ginger and scallion over E-Fu noodles--rich, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. My husband ordered his usual--eggs with mixed vegetables--which isn't on the menu, but they always accommodate when possible. He thoroughly enjoyed it, as he always does. Fresh, delicious food paired with standout, heartfelt service is exactly why we keep coming back. This place has truly become one of our regular favorites.
