Great Chinese food is hard to find. There is lots of good but I'm always on the look for that flavor that makes it great. A friend of mine recommended me this spot and I have to pass on this gem. It's a small store front in fairly empty plaza. Lots of parking in the private lot. It look like every take out spot you have been to but the real star is the food. The flavors were exactly what you look for in Great Chinese. I ordered the General Tao's chicken combo with an order of chicken wings. The rice was fresh, not overly greasy or wet, veggies cooked and eggs in the rice. I don't remember the last time I had eggs in my fried rice. The chicken was fried up but NOT rubbery or overly cooked. The wings I want to order and have right now! They were seasoned and well cooked. The crunch I got with each bite was so satisfying. Wanted to give a new Chinese restaurant a try and it didn't really go too well. Ordered a decent amount of things and everything just fell terribly short on flavor except the shrimp. The sesame chicken wasn't tender at all and it just didn't taste that good. The wontons were inedible, I had 2 bites and was forced to throw them away sadly. The wings tasted like they were refried multiple times and the egg drop wonton soup was just ok. The food is very good ( better during the week ). My only complaint is the man whe delivers. I live exactly two blocks away, but have trouble walking. The last time the man delivered, he pounded on my door to yell that I didn't add a tip to my prepaid order. Tonight, he yelled at me again. I told him he was being very rude. He crumpled my receipt and threw it on my steps. He will never get a tip from me. If I could walk those two blocks, I certainly would. While I enjoy occasionally having their food, I certainly don't need the rudeness that comes with it. read more

Unprofessional staff. Takes half your order tells you to hold on put doesn't put you on hold. Proceeds to take more order of NEW calls instead of putting them on hold and finishing first call. Rude. I'm not a big Chinese food person, but my husband is and wanted some last night. This place was suggested to us by a friend, and it definitely didn't disappoint. We ordered during a busy time on a Friday night and it still only took about a half hour which was a nice surprise. We ordered the fried shrimp appetizer, beef and broccoli, and a chicken and garlic sauce combo meal. Everything was excellent. The shrimp were huge and crunch and the meats in both meals were deliciously tender. I would definitely order from here again! read more

Called to place a take out order at 6:41 tonight & I'm here at 7:45 and it's not ready. Don't waste your time. I don't care if it was free or if the President recommended it. No Chinese food is worth the wait, the stress, the headache..they let you stand there without an update, no communication. The pile to-go order on the counter as if they are priority while people crowd inside due to cold temperatures. I just can't! I am offended. The blatant disregard and unprofessionalism. This place is the best Chinese food I've had outside of when I was in Singapore. It's even better than a lot of the places I tried while in Asia in the military. You'd never think this place was so legit from the outside. Looks like just another run of the mill Chinese spot. The Salt & Pepper Prawns are to die for. Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken Lo Mein, Crab Rangoons, Spare Ribs, and Chicken Noodle Soup are some of my favorites. Beef & Broccoli in Garlic Sauce, fantastic. Everything is always so fresh tasting. Every bite of Broccoli has that satisfying same-day fresh crispy crunch. Not once have I gotten some garbage mush, I don't know how they do it. Usually Chinese joints are a mixed bag, one place makes X dishes amazing and other stuff is mediocre. It's usually a crap shoot. Not Mama Food. I even liked it so much, I called back just to thank the chef with my most recent meal. During dinner rush even, but I didn't care. This place is so good, I logged into this site for the first time in a LONG TIME just to gush over how good it is. Best Chinese food in the area. Always super fresh. It tastes like the food I remember as a kid. The best egg rolls, best scallion pancakes and all Chinese restaurant favorites. Just moved to Franklin Sq. Tried 3 other Chinese Food take out restuarants in FS, and they were mediocre and some super expensive. Tried Mama Food recenetly and it was spectacular. Just the fried rice (House special) is phenomenal. Its what chinese fried rice is supposed to be. And its not expensive. If your going to have chinese food, eat here!!! read more

Just moved to the area and if you live in NY, you must have a Chinese food delivery on speed dial. So we tried Mama Food and have to say that we are pleased. The delivery was fast and the food was good. We tried another location first because they were close and they definitely did not hit the mark. We drove past Mama Food and immediately checked on Yelp for reviews. Safe to say we have found our place. We tried the boneless rib tips, lo mein, egg rolls, and more.
