I'm New in town, Where's lunch found? Thanks YELP! For Chinese Lunch Help! Having been recently transferred, I really don't know a lot of yummy places in this new part of town. Yelp to the rescue! This time I envision my Yelp superhero to be dressed in a RED and WHITE outfit with the Yelp logo on his chest, don't forget the mask and cape! YAY! I followed my superhero Yelp MAN, all the way to Lil's Wok. I love finding new eating places. My Yelp friends have reviewed this takeout joint favorably, and I'm going with some recommended specials. To start the party ,I ordered the fried pork Szechuan dumplings. For my main course I got the General Tao chicken. Hot and sour soup was included with the lunch special. I liked that already because it's cold and snowing outside. I read some reviewers indicated that the customer service here isn't that friendly. Smiling big Jim here can fix that real quick ! I walk up to the counter and give them a BIG Jim smile. Wei, ni hao ma? "Hey ,How are you doing? And quickly follow it up with the greeting for New Year's. You want to see people's mouths drop open when I speak Mandarin? Two minutes later we're all the best of friends telling jokes in Chinese of how my wife loves to the go to the casino! My Wife always wins. I felt so very welcome and like I was at my relative's house. Have to think of a new joke to tell them next time I go back. My lunch to go was outstanding! The Szechuan dumplings, hot and crispy. The accompanying Szechuan sauce was like ginger sauce and hot oil mixed. The General Tao chicken had great traditional pieces of dark meat was served with freshly made fried rice and a spicy hot and sour soup. It was not your usual Chinese restaurant takeout place I could see that there was different flavors, tastes and knowledge in food preparation involved. I really enjoyed my Chinese lunch it was packaged to go perfectly and nothing spilled. If I could say anything.. just a little too much soy sauce here and there in the sauces. Recommended! I always judge Chinese restaurants by their chicken wings. LI's wings have such a good flavor to them. I recommend you give them a try.

Whenever we're in the mood for fast, good tasting Chinese food we order from Li's Wok. We get pork fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, BBQ Spare ribs and general tsos chicken. It can be what it is, cheap Chinese food. However, the lady at the counter gives it that extra opmh. She's genuinely friendly, asks about your life AND remembers the next time she sees you. Is it weird that I am obsessed with Valley Stream? The quality of food in that town is impressing. Chef B, Kaiseki, Li's Wok, Burrito Monster, and many more. I hope Queens gets it together because, the way my gas is setup... Li's Wok has great Chinese take-out. You can tell the food is fresh by the smell and the taste. I never had an issue with Li's Wok and the customer service is great. My favorite picks are Shrimp with Garlic Sauce & Pork Fried Rice, Sesame Chicken & Brown Rice, and Dim Sum. Weird Fact: I love when restaurant tells me to wait for my food. Thats when I know there is some preparation going on. Been coming here for over 20 years. I grew up seeing this place. Despite being a long time customer, I still experience rudeness from not only the cashiers (who have constantly changed), but also the owner. And when they mess up the food, they don't even want to admit it! The food has massively deteriorated in quality, and the portions have gotten smaller. They are extremely cheap here too. I can order a lot of food but they will never give me as much hot oil as I request. They'll say they'll give it, but then never do, and when you ask them for a little more, they refuse and give you a nasty look. They will also hover over you as you take some soy sauce or napkins. I added a star because I got a refund for my last and final order after 20+ years of being a loyal customer. Skip this place, you will definitely find something better. read more

I don't know if this waa just a bad batch but I ordered the general tso shrimp with rice and I was really disappointed. For one, the breading on the shrimp was so thick and bready. Secondly, while eating, I got cut in my mouth by what I could only describe as a small wire. Needless to say, I wasn't happy that I had spent $13 on that meal. This is my go to Chinese food spot. I've been going here for years. Even after moving to Queens I stop by when I have a craving for some Chinese food. I've never found a substitute for their chicken wings anywhere else and the service has always been good. I ordered the sesame chicken, steamed dumplings and egg rolls. It arrived in 30 minutes and the sesame chicken was disgusting. I cut some open and they didn't look like chicken. It's easier going to the Chinese place just around the corner right? Maybe. But Li Wok has the solid Chinese food you've been craving on that busy week day. I drove the extra mile for my soft and yummy dumplins. I was super impressed with the affordable prices. I only paid $21.83 for a small chicken egg drop soup, small chicken and broccoli, small beef w/ mixed veggies, and steamed dumplings! Two small white rices come with each dish which was plentiful. My dad complains about the use of MSG in Chinese food often so it was a relief to eat Li Woks and not have wave of salt overwhelm my chicken and broccoli. I only eat chinese food from this particular store, otherwise I'm not usually a fan. The quality of chicken and beef here is very good. Most chinese places have a rubbery texture to their meat, but not here. The sauces are flavorful, rice is good, etc. The older lady there knows who I am just by my order. She tends to throw me free soda as well due to the amount of times we order from this place. I usually don't need to give her my address either as she knows it by heart. HIGHLY recommend. read more

Delicious Chinese take out! Their food is always delicious and I have never gotten sick from their food unlike other Chinese take outs. Their food is made fresh with quality ingredients. Food can be made to your liking such a spiciness, extra meat, substitutions, low salt, etc. They are usually very busy so that says a lot. The staff is very friendly and speaks perfect English. As stated in a previous review the quality if meat is good and above the usual from what one comes to expect from a local take out spot, chicken resembles chicken, beef IS beef, etc. All the food is prepared well and tasty. I've been a fan of Lis wok for a while now.. I don't like their food anymore. It seems they've gotten a little lazy and the food isn't as good as it used to. Last time I ordered from here they gave me burnt boneless spare ribs, and chicken shrimp and broccoli tasted terrible.. you know that taste when someone doesn't wash their meat clean.. yeah that taste. I tasted the sea the shrimps came from. So gross. That was definitely the last time I ordered from here. read more

The people there are nice and very friendly, and cooks made my order in less than 7 minutes. However the most importantly, the food were not so good to me and my family. Something was missing and too much salt. They have stamp card credit, I thought that was great idea only if you like their taste. (every five dollar you spend, and with 20 or 30 stamps, you get 8 dollar credit) you might find their food yummy, people are nice so go try it and see. read more

If you're going to place an order for pickup or delivery, make sure you find out the price of your food before you even place the order. The lady here is very rude and hangs up very quickly. She needs to improve her etiquette on how she greets her customers. It does not make me want to spend my money here ANYMORE. And another , the lady here does not wear gloves when she puts your dumplings, egg rolls, or whatever in the fryers. She uses her bare hands right after touching the cashier, exchanging money, and touching everything in her store.
