Great service here. Best shrimp and broccoli in town. Only thing I see here is I guess all the restaurants are doing this is much smaller containers .you're paying a much higher price as well for smaller portions. I can understand. The owners are great and work very hard to give their customers the best quality, portions and delicious ingredients in all of their delicious dishes. Among them are so many of my favorites and I cannot even choose ... I usually get the lunch specials because my son works in the afternoon and he takes it to work . All the other people see him eating and can smell the wonderful aromas emitting from his plate ... Today we ordered our usual , boneless spare ribs, with pork fried rice and choice of soup, egg roll or soda. Sesame chicken all white meat breast in their special sauce topped with sesame seeds served with your choice of fried rice. And again soup, egg roll or soda . How can you choose. I've been going to jumbo taste for as long as they have been open. Last time I ordered (chicken broccoli /w egg roll) both food items had a disgusting smell to them. I could not stomach the chicken broccoli, the egg roll was clearly past it's usage date. When I called about my inedible food, I was only offered a new egg roll. You have lost a customer who has brought hundreds of dollars of business, for being very shady and lacking basic customer service. I wasn't going to beg for a refund or new food, I'll take my loss and never eat here again. Me and my friends ordered sesame chicken, chicken lo mein, and rice and while eating the lo mein I noticed that there was a big bug within the food. I'm so disgusted and there was no possible way it was from an outside source as I served myself straight from the carton. I'm never ordering here again! read more

Have been coming here since they opened years ago. They always get our order correct and the food is very good and hot no matter what we order. When we call to place an order the lady who answers the phone knows we are calling and our order, which is usually the same and if we forget something she reminds us. Now that's good service. When I go to pick up my order, they are always polite and efficient. If you want good Chinese takeout give Jumbo Taste a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

Consistent every time. Beef and broccoli is solid. Kids get chicken fried rice which is affordable. Can't go wrong.

This review is for the taste not the decor or anything else. It's take out. My favorites on the menu: Seafood soup Mai Fun, Bean curd with broccoli, and beef with broccoli. The flavors are rich and complex, not bland like the take out across the street. The food is consistently good, I eat here at least once a week. The seafood soup Mai fun broth is just phenomenal, there's a slight metallic taste in the scallops in it, but I'm a foodie most people would not notice it. If you're a new customer you might feel the service is a bit impersonal, but they are nice folks who run the place. The goal is the taste and quality of food not a sit down dining experience, this is negligible. If it were a fine dining establishment then I would knock out some stars. But this is good food in exchange for a few bucks and that ratio is perfect or near perfect. read more

This place is certainly not 5 stars - "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" but I'm definitely a fan of the food and staff. The restaurant itself is pretty small (seating around 16 people) but the female cashier, who I assume is the owner, is friendly in person and over the phone. It takes me 5 minutes to drive to this place so it has become my go-to restaurant for Chinese take out. Also, the delivery guy is very friendly. His English is limited but he's very laid back and he seems like a happy person. In terms of the lunch special, the pork in the fried rice can be substituted with chicken which is a nice touch. The fried rice itself is well made. The stickiness of the white rice varies from time to time, but not by much. All of the soups are neither salty nor bland, at least to my taste, and the egg roll is okay. On to the dishes... Lo Mein - 7.5/10: It's not bad but I've had better. At times the noodles are saturated with the sauce so it arrives poofy and moist. Not really for me. Chicken or Beef w/ Broccoli - 8.5/10: Meat is cooked well, sauce is good, and the broccoli is tender with a bit of crunch. Sweet & Sour Chicken - 7.5/10: It's not my favorite dish in general. I took a bite off of my friend's plate and the fried layer was slightly thick for my taste. It wasn't terrible though. General Tso's Chicken - 9.5/10: My go-to dish. Sauce is solid and the chicken has a thin crispy layer on the outside while remaining soft and tender inside. Curry Beef - 6.5/10: Eh. I was in the mood so I tried it. Go to a Thai or Indian restaurant for your curry cravings. Chicken Wings - 8.5/10: Not bad, especially when you pair it with fried rice. It has this "cooked in a Chinese take out" taste to it though. For instance if you were sampling chicken wings from various restaurants, you'd know after one bite that it was prepared at a Chinese take out. It's not necessarily a bad thing though. Beef Chow Fun - 7/10: Not that great. I've had much better elsewhere. It's a bit bland and it tastes like it's missing some crucial ingredient. General Tso's Shrimp - 6/10: Stick with the chicken or order a different shrimp dish. The fried outer layer is way too thick. Bar-B-Q Spare Ribs - 8/10: Pretty good but like the wings it has that distinct "cooked in a Chinese take out" taste to it. Spring Roll - 9/10: Solid. Shrimp Dumplings - 9/10: I'm a fan of dumplings and shrimp. The combination has led for this dish along with the spring roll to become my go-to appetizers. Sometimes I'll just order the two and call it a meal. Ma Po Tofu - 8.5/10: Tried it on a whim and it was surprisingly good. It's seasoned well and it hits the spot when you're looking for something to mix with white rice. Twice Cooked Pork - 8.5/10: It's not bad. If you're in the mood for pork and you can't decide what to get, I'd give this dish a shot. Tekka Roll (Tuna) - 8/10: I'm not a huge fan of Japanese food when it's served as a secondary cuisine, especially sushi. I also have low expectations when sushi is prepared in a Chinese take out restaurant. It wasn't bad though. It's fresh mid-grade sushi. If you're in the mood it's worth a try. The owner(s) and staff are real friendly, the food is consistently good, and the price is a great value. You can't really ask for more from a take-out Chinese restaurant. I've tried every other take out place in the neighborhood, and this one is the best, which is why I keep going back. I ordered my usual General Tsao's Chicken and the portion was enough for dinner and lunch the next day. It had the perfect amount of sauce and my chicken and rice soup was excellent. I love this place. When I moved to new hyde park 4 years ago, i tried literally EVERY chinese place within a 5 mile radius. This one has the best pork fried dumplings, very flavorful. Their beef with broccoli is my go to, the beef is never fatty or hard to chew and their broccoli is always well done. Everything is ready in ten minutes no matter what you order, which kind of worries me but then again, i am ordering Chinese so I cant complain or else I should cook it myself. Just called from large hospital close by and was told they couldn't deliver to us because their delivery person would not wait the FIVE MINUTES it would take for us to take the elevator down to the lobby to pick up our order. I couldn't believe my ears! This place doesn't want business! I had to clarify and the guy said to call back at 12:30 when another delivery guy with more patience would be on duty?!?!?!? Um. if your delivery person can't wait 5 minutes to deliver a large order to a HUGE customer base, then you need to get another delivery person or re-think your business model. I just ordered from there. The food is very tasteless and bland. The Lo Mein was vegetable and had three pieces of broccoli, that was it. The vegetable dish was bland, and had too much cornstarch. My daughter found a large staple (?) in her Lo Mein. I will never go here again. Go to New Win instead. read more
