New York Chinese food with a lot of love on top of that - it does not get better than this. Ok it…read moredoes: 1) The best egg drop soup in NY 2) Really, really good dinner combo C 23, the General Tso's Chicken with really good, juicy, crispy and tasty chicken and minimal batter in that gorgeous, sweet n tangy and slightly spicy rich sauce. Then the smoky and sweet pork fried rice. Oh wait, how about that egg roll; I am talking about the perfect balanced flavorful moist filling yet crispy non greasy crust as you smile and get into that packet of duck sauce. 3) The owner is something else. I ate in( about 7 chairs) and loved seeing the regulars popping in every few minutes to get their pick up orders that she already knew about including the omissions and special needs. Just a lovely, loving person whose kindness makes the food taste even better. 4) The inside is simple. Hey they pack a punch and it is a knockout! 5) She does not charge a cc processing add on fee. Seriously - for great Chinese food with amazing service and smiles galore from the chefs to the ladies at the counter, please park just east of Willis Ave on Hillside in Mineola and enjoy a meal at Chen's that will stay with you.

The staff is…read moreextremely nice and more than happy to help if you don't know something about a dish or special. When you dine in they will bring some sliced watermelon, water and rice crackers to the table to start your experience. I ordered a number of different dishes to get a feel for the place, as well as feed the family. The order: walovi/Wanglaoji (can of tea served cold) Scallion Pancakes, Lychee Shrimp Balls, Beef Soup with hand pulled noodles, special dumplings, Mashed Cucumber salad, sausage, and stir fried beef noodles. Overall the food was amazing 9.5/10 The entire meal was delicious, the noodles were perfectly cooked and the dishes full of flavor. The Leychee shrimp balls were excellent, the mashed cucumber salad was refreshing and full of flavor. All the dishes were seasoned well, the special dumplings were a little over seasoned and thus the 9.5 instead of a perfect 10. The tea was refreshing and not overly sweet it was the perfect accompaniment to the meal.

First off, I wanted to disclose I am Chinese, born and raised in New York City. I have eaten…read moreChinese food all my life, from home cooked food, to small hole in the wall restaurants, to fancier Chinese restaurants. All Chinese restaurants usually are Chinese operated and owned. I dont know if MOGU is Chinese owned, but from my observations it doesnt appear to be Chinese operated. I have never set foot at any locations and this was my first experience at MOGU at the Mineola location. I chose this location because my daughter had a performance and I knew we would be hungry, this looked new, big, and from all the pictures/menu the food looked pretty good. I didn't have any expectations. The food was surprisingly good. I wouldnt say its so amazing that you have to go out of your way in coming here. But if you were in the area, it's definitely worth a try. The lo mein noodles, sesame chicken, and scallion pancakes were the items that were our favorite.

We also tried the steak with Brussels sprouts (clear winner for my husband), scallion pancake (kids favorite), wonton poppers (my toddler loved these) and the noodle dish with added shrimp protein. I appreciated that there was plenty of protein in each of these dishes, but thought that the sauces were just too sweet. Great for a quick dinner option but definitely not something I'd get all the time. There are plenty of seats inside, so you can dine in if you choose. It was clean and staff was pleasant.
