Standard Chinese food spot. Nothing really special but the inside could be a bit cleaner. I'll be back though for sure.

The staff is…read moreextremely nice and more than happy to help if you don't know something about a dish or special. When you dine in they will bring some sliced watermelon, water and rice crackers to the table to start your experience. I ordered a number of different dishes to get a feel for the place, as well as feed the family. The order: walovi/Wanglaoji (can of tea served cold) Scallion Pancakes, Lychee Shrimp Balls, Beef Soup with hand pulled noodles, special dumplings, Mashed Cucumber salad, sausage, and stir fried beef noodles. Overall the food was amazing 9.5/10 The entire meal was delicious, the noodles were perfectly cooked and the dishes full of flavor. The Leychee shrimp balls were excellent, the mashed cucumber salad was refreshing and full of flavor. All the dishes were seasoned well, the special dumplings were a little over seasoned and thus the 9.5 instead of a perfect 10. The tea was refreshing and not overly sweet it was the perfect accompaniment to the meal.

What a hidden unassuming GEM, right in the middle of Franklin Square! This restaurant is family…read moreowned/run and has been in business for about 2 years. The restaurant is smallish and can probably seat up to 18ppl. This is a unique Harbin restaurant (the Capital region of a Providence in Northeast China). This authentic cuisine is hard to find; even in Flushing, Queens! On their store awning, it states "We Make Real Chinese Food".... They ain't kidding!! Note: Closed on Tuesdays! We went for lunch on a Saturday, and the restaurant was full of Asian people. There was a steady flow of Asians the entire 2.5 hrs we were there! (Yes, we had a leisurely 2.5 hr lunch; catching up with friends from out of town. lol) Our menu (shared by 4 adults, 1 child): -- House Special Dumplings ($18/12pcs): we ordered these boiled. Tasty; especially with the chili sauce and vinegar. -- Sauteed Tofu Sheet w.Chili Peppers $18: traditional Northeast China dish. Good but would have been better with more chili peppers. We added chili oil for an extra kick. -- Double Cooked Pork w.Sweet & Sour Sauce $20: Excellent dish! Preparation is very unique! There was no actual sweet & sour "sauce" but rather, the sweet & sour condiments were cooked into the batter of the pork. Loved this dish! Get this! -- Mala Lamb Ribs $28: Another Excellent dish! The spicy and numbing Mala taste was obvious without being overly spicy. Great flavors, Great texture. Get this! -- Pork Fried Noodles $15: All noodles are hand-pulled on-site, with noodle chefs having over 20 years of experience. This dish was made with just ONE very long noodle! Served with a pair of scissors. lol Great texture, and soooo satisfying! Even better with some chili oil! This had limited protein but a good dish nonetheless. -- Northeastern Style Braised Pork Elbow $36: Excellent dish! Huge portion. Perfectly braised, fall-off-the bone deliciousness. It was slightly salty, so definitely eat this with some rice. Get this! -- Rice ($2/bowl): entrees do NOT come with rice, so order on the side. -- Condiments: on each table, there is a condiments tray consisting of chili oil, vinegar, soy sauce, and salt/pepper. Definitely try their chili oil and vinegar. This really enhanced the flavors of the food. But some of the dishes didn't need condiments at all, and were terrific as served. Customer service was so warm, welcoming and friendly! They are happy to answer any questions you may have, and offered great suggestions. So, if you've never had Harbin Cuisine before, peruse the 6 page menu and ask questions before ordering! Lots of great dishes on their menu! Parking: street parking is available (in front and on the side road). They do have a small parking lot in back but spots are limited since it's a shared lot. Looking forward to a return visit to explore their menu. What a treat!! Thanks to Y&Z for a wonderful 1st experience at your restaurant!

A nice Chinese take out spot located walking distance from LIJ Valley Stream Hospital. The place is…read morequite spacious with three tables and seatings, but may get crowded when everyone is ordering and picking up their lunch. There is an ATM machine inside the restaurant because the place is cash or Zelle only. The drinks fridge is also accessible by the patients and they have a variety of sodas, Snapples, and home made herbal tea. I really like their lunch specials which has a wide variety and you get a free soda, wonton soup, or egg drop soup with it. All that for less than $10! I came during lunch time with my coworkers and we all ordered a variety of things to share. First of all, the hot and sour soup is delicious. It was very hot even long after it arrived. Perfectly flavored, not too spicy and not too sour. Texture was a balance of watery and thick. And delicious with the wonton crackers! I like that all the food they claim have no MSG and honestly tastes very natural. The kung Pao Chicken and chicken and broccoli flavor is not as strong as I like it and they strip their chicken instead of dicing it. The BBQ ribs are perfectly cooked and flavored. The fried rice is not too oily and perfectly flavored with cha Siew and vegetables. The highlight was definitely the crispy and juicy chicken wings. Will definitely be back for them! My friend got the quart of herbal tea which I want to try next time too. There are no restrooms, but the staff are all very nice! You get a fortune cookie with every order!

I'm New in town, Where's lunch found? Thanks YELP! For Chinese Lunch Help!…read moreHaving been recently transferred, I really don't know a lot of yummy places in this new part of town. Yelp to the rescue! This time I envision my Yelp superhero to be dressed in a RED and WHITE outfit with the Yelp logo on his chest, don't forget the mask and cape! YAY! I followed my superhero Yelp MAN, all the way to Lil's Wok. I love finding new eating places. My Yelp friends have reviewed this takeout joint favorably, and I'm going with some recommended specials. To start the party ,I ordered the fried pork Szechuan dumplings. For my main course I got the General Tao chicken. Hot and sour soup was included with the lunch special. I liked that already because it's cold and snowing outside. I read some reviewers indicated that the customer service here isn't that friendly. Smiling big Jim here can fix that real quick ! I walk up to the counter and give them a BIG Jim smile. Wei, ni hao ma? "Hey ,How are you doing? And quickly follow it up with the greeting for New Year's. You want to see people's mouths drop open when I speak Mandarin? Two minutes later we're all the best of friends telling jokes in Chinese of how my wife loves to the go to the casino! My Wife always wins. I felt so very welcome and like I was at my relative's house. Have to think of a new joke to tell them next time I go back. My lunch to go was outstanding! The Szechuan dumplings, hot and crispy. The accompanying Szechuan sauce was like ginger sauce and hot oil mixed. The General Tao chicken had great traditional pieces of dark meat was served with freshly made fried rice and a spicy hot and sour soup. It was not your usual Chinese restaurant takeout place I could see that there was different flavors, tastes and knowledge in food preparation involved. I really enjoyed my Chinese lunch it was packaged to go perfectly and nothing spilled. If I could say anything.. just a little too much soy sauce here and there in the sauces. Recommended! Looking forward to my next lunch here. Thanks to Yelp navigation GPS . I would have never found the place without it. JIM D.
