I had mine with ketchup and hot sauce, it's the only way to eat chicken wings.

Our waitress made us feel completely comfortable we were laughing, having side conversations, and genuinely enjoying ourselves all night. By the end of the evening, she even said, "Goodnight, love you!" and quickly laughed saying she didn't mean to say it. That pretty much summed up the vibe of the night friendly, relaxed, and memorable. The food was excellent from start to finish. I had the Caesar salad appetizer, which was very good, and my sister had the calamari, which she said was excellent. For our entrées, we both ordered the chicken parmesan with alavaca sauce, and it was absolutely delicious. To finish the night, we shared the crème brûlée for dessert, and it was the perfect treat. The portion is definitely big enough for two people, so I wouldn't recommend ordering one per person. The location is beautiful and right by the water true to the restaurant's name. The only small thing to note is the parking. There are two parking lots, and the first one is definitely the better option. The second lot leads closer to the waterfront entrance and can feel a little tight and snug when parking. Overall, we had an amazing time and would absolutely go back. Great food, great atmosphere, and even better service.

Bigelow's Clam Bar never disappoints. Every single time I'm driving from Brooklyn to Rockville…read moreCentre, this place is worth the stop. This visit I ordered the lump crab cakes, clam strips, fries, and a lemonade. Everything was a solid 10/10. The crab cakes were loaded with sweet lump crab meat and barely any filler. You can actually see the chunks of crab when you break them open. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and absolutely delicious. The clam strips were hot, crispy, and tasted incredibly fresh, and the fries were perfectly cooked. The staff is always quick, pleasant, and efficient, making takeout a breeze. Most importantly, the food is consistently fresh and flavorful. That's what keeps me coming back. If you're in the area or even passing through, do yourself a favor and stop at Bigelow's. It's one of those places that lives up to the hype every single time. I'll definitely be back.

Let me start by saying this began as a hunt for a lobster roll in the vicinity of a doctors visit…read more I usually reward myself for this drive to Long Island with a trip for a lobster roll... but due to a recent fire the location is closed. Searching Yelp I found this place much closer and figured it was worth a try... upon arrival I parked with ease, was seated immediately and greeted with the disappointment of lobster rolls being a weekend specialty and decided to make lemonade with my lemons by trying a fried clam strip sandwich. I was hesitant as fried food no longer sits well with my stomach.... But if they're known for clams.. clams it is!!! First condiments were brought out... plentiful, separate and the lemon cut properly, fresh and juicy. I'm already happy because so many places are sparse on the tartar and cocktail sauce and I run out before I'm halfway through. Not here! Then the sandwich arrives and I realize I'm eating this with my fingers due to the massive amount of clams! Fried perfectly... not greasy, not heavy. TENDER!!! And delicious!!! Hands down the best clam strips I have ever had, and I instantly forgot that I wanted that lobster roll. I had coleslaw on the side which was perfect, finely shredded and chilled which is my preference. I ate the WHOLE thing.. leaving behind only a portion of bun which was butter toasted and slightly sweet.. also delicious. Highly recommend... also I was informed if I'd like the roll on the weekend I can call ahead to have the lobster fresh steamed and pulled for my roll... but at this point I was in love with the clams! Thank you Bigelows!!

My boy and I are there pretty much every Sunday during NFL season, and honestly, we sneak visits in during the week too -- sometimes just us, sometimes with the wives, sometimes grabbing food to bring back home. The vibe is always cool, welcoming, and family-oriented. Jerry, the owner, is cool as hell and treats people right. The whole staff really does. Danielle, Jordan, Jose -- all love. Now let's get to the food. The whiting? Amazing. The catfish? Amazing. The fried lobster? AMAZING. The shrimp? Always on point. The mac and cheese is easily a 4 to 4.5 out of 5. I'll never say somebody's mac is better than my mama's, but theirs is dangerously close. The collard greens are solid too. Me personally, I like my greens with a little more soul seasoning and spice -- a little cayenne kick built in instead of needing hot sauce afterward -- so for me they're about a 3.5 to 4 out of 5. But I can tell they season them in a way that appeals to everybody's palate and lets people adjust it themselves. The salmon soup? ELITE. They sell out of it constantly, so if you want it, get there early. The only thing I'd personally add would be some crushed chili flakes and corn niblets to take it completely over the top. As somebody who cooks and runs a catering business myself, I'm extremely critical about food, so when I say this place meets the bar and raises it, I mean that. Jose is usually back there cooking every time we go, so I joke that they got him chained to the kitchen -- but clearly he knows what he's doing. Jerry and the family taught him well. Now for honesty: The potato salad isn't really my thing. I'd probably give it a 2.5 out of 5 because, again, it feels made to appeal to all palates instead of heavily seasoned-food lovers like me. Same with the cabbage -- but I'm Jamaican, so unless cabbage is Jamaican-style, you're probably not selling me on it anyway . But the important part is this: the foods people ACTUALLY go to a soul food seafood restaurant for? They absolutely nail them. And now they opened a Brooklyn location too. Trust me -- make the trip. Once you go, you're going to keep going back.
