Definitely a different option for dinner. And it was fantastic. There are alot of options from savory to sweet. It is hard to pick. However which ever you decide, everything comes out so good. The service is very inviting and friendly. They were extremely patient and helped explain certain items that I wasn't too sure of. If you're feeling weary, go with the experts!! Clams or oysters? Clams or oysters? That's what we wanted on this super hot day. Somehow we wound up at Pierogibites, and boy, we're we happy! The place is larger than we thought with a counter for ordering and pickup. On the left was a cute waiting area with a small table and upholstered chairs so you can wait for friends. And there are about 8 good sized tables for dining in. Stefan came over right away to seat us, give us water and menus. The menus have wooden covers which was cool. I had already looked at the menu online, so I knew I was getting the Polish Platter - a mix of the most popular dishes. The Kielbasa had the best snap. I had 3 pierogies, 2 potato and one Sauerkraut and Mushroom. I got them boiled which is definitely the way to go. The stuffed cabbage was huge and came with either mushroom or tomato sauce. I got both. There was also the most delicious beet sauerkraut. It was meant for the pierogies, but I just ate it Plain it was so good. The sour cream was the cream on top - literally. For a drink, I got the house made strawberry juice. Sweet and refreshing on this hot day Stefan checked on us multiple times, but not in an annoying way. Hubby got a Polish beer and borscht as an appetizer. The cucumber and dill perfectly Flavored the Beets. Again, super refreshing on this hot day. He also got a platter that came with 6 pierogies of his choosing, kielbasa coins, jalapeños covered in cheese. The only complaint was there was too much cheese so the taste of the food was diminished. All in all, this was a great experience. To start, we split the the potato latkes and they were outstanding: perfectly crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, and clearly made with perfection. I have had my fair share of latkes, and these were some of the best I have ever had. For an entree, I had 4 pan fried pierogis. The goat cheese and arugula pierogis were the surprise hit--creamy, tangy goat cheese balanced beautifully by the arugula, all wrapped in delicate, pierogi. I didn't think I would love these as much as I did, but they were great. My friend got the kielbasa and pierogi plate and it looked amazing. The classic potato pierogis delivered exactly what you want from a traditional favorite: rich, hearty, and deeply satisfying. Paired with the kielbasa potato pancake, the dish leaned fully into bold, savory flavors, with the kielbasa adding a smoky depth that elevated every bite. The sourcrout bright, tangy contrast to the richness of the meal and kept it from feeling too heavy. An additional plate we ordered was the Zbójnickie Pierogi Skillet and that has quickly become a favorite. It comes with jalapenos, sour cream, pierogis and kielbasa which all has a wonderful flavor in every single bite. For dessert, we both had cheese blintzes with raspberry sauce and it was crispy and delicious. Overall, this was a comforting, well-balanced spread that honors tradition while still offering thoughtful, flavorful twists. Outstanding pierogis! I was going to take my parents to Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings in Westbury, however they put pork in most of their soup dumplings. Shrimp... with pork. Crab... with pork. Enter Pierogibites, a much more vegetarian-friendly restaurant. The servers were attentive and the ambiance was casual. My Asian parents are kind of picky eaters, they're the type of people who travel to Paris then only eat Chinese food while they're there (Why on Earth would you go to one of the culinary capitals of the world and not eat French food?!?). Instead of Chinese dumplings, we opted to go the Eastern European route and my parents were very impressed with this restaurant. I ordered the 8 pierogis and ordered 7 different vegetarian pierogis (Potato Classic, Mac & Cheese, Sweet Cheese, Sweet Potato, Sauerkraut and Mushroom, Arugula Goat Cheese, and Blueberry). I doubled up on the Sauerkraut and Mushroom pierogi. I opted to have my pierogis boiled and they were all served to me on a single plate with caramelized onions on top and sour cream on the side. The restaurant's menu says they import flour from Poland, that's probably why their pierogis feel like a warm hug inside your mouth. Now the fun part, Ukranian Roulette with pierogis. Slice into each one and reveal the surprise filling. Here's my ranking of all 7 pierogis that I tried: 1) Sauerkraut and Mushroom - the pierogi that I doubled up on ended up being my favorite. Great balance of flavors. 2) Potato Classic - classic for a reason. No frills pierogi that was perfectly cooked. 3) Sweet Cheese - really rich and cream cheese filling. Delicious! 4) Sweet Potato - this one surprised me. They cooked the sweet potato filling with cinnamon and maybe nutmeg so it has a nice fall flavor. If I ever come back here in the fall, these would be my "go to" pierogis. 5) Arugula and Goat Cheese - a very solid pierogi 6) Blueberry - a sweet dessert pierogi, the pierogi that I saved to eat last. It's not a bad pierogi by any means, but I overall prefer the savory pierogis. 7) Mac & Cheese - my 9-year-old son's favorite pierogi was my least favorite pierogi. Something about biting through a pierogi, then finding another food made from dough (macaroni). Yummy, but definitely better pierogis on the menu. Pierogies were home cooked (yes, i know its a restaurant but they were just like as if they were made in your mom's kitchen), borscht soup was very good and we enjoyed the other staples with my only critique the stuffed cabbage. Still good just not too hot and seemed to be missing something so maybe i'm spoiled. Service was definitely friendly but scarce, and food took considerable time but if you can manage that, its a meal worth waiting for!!! Nice to have something different so close. I can't speak for authenticity, but these pierogis were delicious. Got an order of 8 and mixed and matched the classic potato with sauerkraut and mushrooms, goat cheese and arugula and sweet cheese. The pierogis are soft, chewy and pillowy. My favorite of the bunch being the goat cheese: it gave it that necessary tangy flavor with no sour cream needed. The sauerkraut and mushroom was also a surprise hit, it feels lighter than most pierogis and has such an earthy flavor; truly unique. My order was takeout but, if you walk inside, its clean, spacious and has plenty of seating. If it weren't so far from my hometown, I would definitely come back to try some more traditional Polish offerings! read more

Went on a Saturday night as a party of four. The restaurant looks modern and classy with some cute decorations. There aren't many tables so a reservation may be preferred. We were able to get a table without one at 6:00, but the place was full as we were leaving. The service was friendly and attentive. Now that we've got that out of the way, let's talk about what we're all interested in...the pierogis. They offer several varieties with your choice of boiled or pan-fried. Everyone in our party got a platter that allowed you to choose a variety and was accompanied with Kielbasa and other sides. The highlights were the classic potato and the meat. Personally, I enjoyed the buffalo chicken as well. The jalapeño and cheddar were a special the night we went and were also enjoyed by all. In general, there were no complaints about any of the pierogis. The Ukrainian Borscht was delicious as well. As far as beverages, you're mostly limited to beer and wine. I did enjoy the Zywiec (Polish beer) quite a bit. It's got a lager vibe. This was our first time here, but won't be our last. My partner in crime wanted stuffed cabbage for his birthday so his wish was my command!! We went on a Friday night and walked into an empty restaurant. Very clean and modern looking.. the waitress was very nice and seated us. I got potato pancakes and a cheese blintz Absolutely delicious, and portions were large. I took home 1/2 of my dinner to eat the next day. The waitress was very nice, answered all of our questions, didn't rush. There was us and another table with a large party but she kept checking in on us to see if we needed anything. The place is small so I think she was the only waitress but still gave us the attention we needed. Sorry for the choppy review, started it and forgot about it. I was really torn between 3&4 stars because there were definitely short comings in this experience but also successes. Let's start off with ambiance, it is very cozy spot on the corner next to the train station with a decent amount of seating. Two staff members manning the floor and counter together, very polite and pleasant. Now the juicy part. The food. Pelmeni - ordered them boiled. Was fairly disappointed. Filling was too firm and felt like it lacked seasoning. Portion size and size of the actual pelmeni was fair. Hungarian goulash- this was disappointing as well. Great large portion however lacking in flavor. Adding salt didn't really bring anything out in it Bigos - the combination of cabbage and sausage. This was successful. Large portion. Nicely flavored and a pleasure to eat Borscht - seemed like someone had an accident when making this and dumped way too much sugar in there. Typically this sort of soup isn't sweetened. This one was overly sweet. Aside from the sweetness the flavor was there and the vm beets, potatoes and meat really brought home that expectation of what the soup should be. Am I going back? Yes. Maybe the chef had a bad day. Yes I'll probably try completely different things next time and hopefully give this place a full 5 stars. I thought one 4 star review here was revealing: they liked everything but the food. The food. Overcooked, too thick, doughy boring tasting pierogis, overcooked noodles in the chicken noodle soup, overcooked something else pasta based. The pierogis were also pan fried and...some were really, really, brown. I only know what the meat filling tasted like because I did not taste the others (and I didn't like it). This was my first time eating in at Pierogi Bites in Bellmore. The first time I ordered from here was takeout, and that's when I realized I really only enjoy the potato pierogies -- I wasn't a fan of the other varieties. This visit, we went with a traditional Polish dinner: pierogies, kielbasa, and gołąbki (Polish-style stuffed cabbage with seasoned meat filling). The flavors were what you'd expect from a typical Polish restaurant -- somewhat plain and not heavily seasoned, but still comforting and satisfying overall. The gołąbki was actually the largest portion on the plate and probably the highlight of the meal. Where it fell short was the portion size, especially for the $30 price point. The kielbasa was about a 6-inch piece that had been sliced in half lengthwise. Unfortunately, cutting it that way really took away a lot of the juiciness and flavor -- it lost that snap and richness you expect from a good kielbasa. A full piece instead of one cut in half would have made a noticeable difference. The plate came with just three potato pierogies, and they were on the smaller side -- honestly about on par with Mrs. T's. And most Polish people will tell you Mrs. T's are actually better than a lot of homemade pierogies. For $30, five pierogies instead of three would have felt much more reasonable. Service was okay but clearly inexperienced -- it seemed like younger staff who need a bit more training. We were never asked if we wanted anything to drink besides water, weren't offered a dessert menu, and when the food first came out, the gołąbki had the wrong sauce on it and had to be corrected. Overall, the food was decent and satisfying, but between the small portions and the service issues, it felt underwhelming for the price. It was okay -- just not sure I'd go back again. read more

We love this place so much. We're part polish and I consider myself a tough critic when it comes to this cuisine but they knock it out of the park every single time. I've ordered at least 10 times and every time it's consistent, fresh, hot, and tasty. I always get the stuffed cabbage. It is perfection. Also for the price, the portion is large. The meat is tender and flavorful and the tomato sauce has the perfect amount of zip. The kopytka are just like jumbo gnocchi and the creamy mushroom sauce is addicting. And their pierogies are amazing. The only thing I don't like is how many bay leaves I come across while eating because they're unsafe to consume and should be removed before serving. read more

So pierogi seemed like something I could stomach - perfect comfort food. Ordered a dozen fried, four boiled, 'grilled' kielbasa, chicken noodle soup, and four potato pancakes (three and one) so we could each have one - with app delivery came to $92 that's a lot of money for peasant Polish food - beware, the delivery app price is higher and that doesn't even count the fees assessed from the apps. The same order adds up to $62 from their menu online - https://www.pierogibites.com/menu. The kielbasa was pictured with delicious grill marks and looked nice and crispy. Instead what showed up was a scored sausage that didn't taste grilled at all. The fried pierogi and potato pancakes arrived in air tight containers which steamed the food to an unappetizing soggy state. They had to be touched up in the air fryer, no problem. The potato pancakes are humongous, easily splittable for a person or three. So we over ordered those. The food is definitely handmade with love, and I would probably go dine-in in the future for a better experience. Kielbasa pieces were like the "old fashion" long sausages from the Brooklyn Polish meat markets. The stuffed cabbage was humoungus, probably 6" long. I wasn't sure if the filling had rice or mash potatoes but it was light and "fluffy" for its size. No raisins in it. The staff were friendly and helpful. Where to begin? Let's start with the obvious, pierogi. Their pierogi are almost as good as moms. The farmers cheese crepes, nalisniki are to die for. Can't tell mom, but they are lighter and fluffier than moms. The service is fantastic, waitstaff attentive but not annoying and very funny. Decor is nice and clean, crisp aesthetic. It's worth the drive! EDIT: took my 91 year old mom who usually hates all food she didn't make herself and she actually loved it! She said the Pyzi was different than hers but very light and tasty. Cozy spot in downtown Bellmore, (parking can be tricky) very hip, big order desk with easy to read menu selections on the wall. spartan dining area comfortable and immaculately clean, not fancy. We knew we were in a legit place as there were several tables of families speaking Polish. I ordered the Polish platter, kielbasa, 3 pirogies, and the stuffed cabbage I needed to comp,etc my Birthday. Was very happy with stuffed cabbage and my pirogies and cabbage, their house red cabbage and horseradish side is fantastic ! Listen, Pierogibites...I wanted to love you. I wanted to really like you. I wanted to at least feel like I could return to you, and yet, months after initially visiting you, I just don't think I shall be returning. Yep, despite everything that sounds so great about this Polish Bellmore storefront, I just don't think it lived up to any hype. The hype for me came from a combo of a coworker telling me about the place and from good ol' Yelp reviews rounding things out to a legit 4.7 stars with 63 reviews. It was enough for my wife and I, with slightly hungry stomachs, to meander into 'bites after visiting a few stores nearby. Honestly, we probably should've/would've taken our grub to go if we lived a little closer, but instead we sat down...well after it was a little confusing in the setup of how things worked. The girls behind the counter took us to a table and gave us menus, but after doing this and sitting for a few minutes then told us we have to order at the counter. I'm fine with that, but I was a little thrown for their process. Plus, on this warm late June day, the place definitely didn't have any air conditioning (or it was super weak). The interior wasn't stifling, but it was warm enough to make us a little uncomfortable while we ate. What did we eat? Well the menu specializes in Polish-Ukrainian cuisine so there are plenty of food choices that fall into that realm of edible options. For us, we decided to order the grilled polish kielbasa, an 8 piece order of pierogis, and the potato pancakes. Before going any further, another small gripe I had was that the potato pancakes were legit huge (albeit pretty tasty), but when we ordered, we were trying to decide between getting the side order potato pancake (just one) or the full order (which turned out to be three). It would've been nice, as we stood at the counter and asked the girls that worked there, if they had mentioned how massive these suckers were, because then perhaps we would've ordered the single one. It helps to be informative when you work at a food establishment...just sayin'. Though like I mentioned, the pancakes were quite enjoyable so having to take them home and reheat them the next day wasn't a horrible task. What was more of a letdown were a majority of the pierogis and the kielbasa. I'll give Pierogibites props for allowing us to mix and match from their pierogi flavors, but most of what we ate (potato, meat, sauerkraut/mushroom) weren't anything special. The arugula and goat cheese choice was probably the best, but one flavor can't save you. And the kielbasa, despite the beautiful presentation, just didn't have much flavor. I've had store bought kielbasa that is much more tasty than this one. Sigh. Overall, maybe I'm crazy. I don't like to be the black sheep reviewer who goes against the excitement of others as well as the positive Yelp scores this spot holds, but Pierogibites just felt like it missed the mark. It had all the makings of a place that could've and should've been better, but the warm space, confusing staff, and hit or miss food just makes it something that I can't warrant a return trip to.
