Amazing halal chinese food just like the original no pork halal chinese in Brooklyn. Must try for your self to be the judge. Chicken lo mein and chicken wings amazing and also the mixed vegetables with fried rice. Didn't like the dumplings or shrimp roll though but, not a fan of that anyways. Dumpling felt half cooked according to my cousin. Sorry no pics I just couldn't wait to taste the food. Will definitely be going back. read more

Ordered 3 items, was told 20 mins wait. 40 mins later we asked how much longer, they seemed confused and said 3 more minutes. After following up several more times we finally got our food 55 minutes after we first ordered. No explanation. Food was just ok, nothing special. The only reason they have any success is because it's halal and those folks don't have enough choices. Every local Chinese takeout place is better. read more

I decided to try Golden House again. I ordered the 4-piece chicken wings with fried rice platter for $10. This is the best thing on the menu in my opinion. The fried rice was very flavorful and contained bean sprouts, onions, peas and carrots. The rice isn't loaded with soy sauce, it's more of a chinese 5 spice seasoning. The wings this time were fresh and nicely seasoned with salt & black pepper. Definitely one of the most flavorful chinese food dishes I've had in a while. read more

This spot has good food, but HORRIBLE service. I haven't had Chinese food in months and was craving some, so I placed an order by phone and picked up the General Tso lunch special on my break.. Oh lawd, never again, the lady at the front is plain rude and nasty. No customer service etiquette whatsoever...It's a shame because I would've returned, but nah, there are a million and one other Chinese restaurants to choose from.. read more

they have amazing food and i love their boba so much! its a nice place to eat in when you order your food on a nice hot day. I recommend their coconut boba and their orange chicken its amazing. read more

Very helpful staff!! I bought fried chicken last time I came here, it was crunchy and amazing! The place is small yet cozy! Definitely pay a visit if you can! read more

The woman in the phone is kind of animated and a bit difficult to understand. The shrimp and broccoli is flavorful and the gooey sauce on it is thick and delicious. The food tastes good. No denying that. Even better than the shrimp and broccoli is the general Tso shrimp. Just get it. The veggie fried rice is really flavorful. This may be one of my fave Chinese spots and I've been to many. read more

Authentic, excellent taste and quality, amazing owners, 23 years at this Valley Stream location, a lot of love!!!!!!! There is something special and magnetic about NY Chinese food. Had an absolutely gorgeous lunch at Golden House which I found via a Yelp search close to a house that we are remodeling in Valley Stream in Nassau County in NY. Golden House in on a main drag next to a barber shop and a 99 cent store with parking meters( 25 cents for 30 minutes) in the front. Got a warm greeting from the owner Amy when I walked in. The menu looked pretty standard and I opted for the mixed vegetables in extra garlic sauce with vegetable fried rice instead of pork plus a bottle of water as my free drink( just 6 bucks!!!!!!) Loved that the chef took his time and out came this hot, fresh, steaming and delicious dish that smelled just heavenly. I did take a short video and uploaded it. The taste - divine. The sauce - tasty, light and simple. The portions- just right. The quality of the vegetables - very good esp the bell peppers, mushrooms, the eggplant and the broccoli. The love and care with which Amy served this and interacted with me and other customers- infinite!! I took 2 bites and ordered 2 more specials to go- the General Tso's and the Eggplant in garlic sauce but of course with extra extra garlic sauce. Amy told me that they have been here for 23 years. No surprise! Her chef was actually her very kind and cordial husband Lee who asked me where I was from and about my family. Sweet!!! Loved it!! This may be a simple, not too fancy location but the food and the vibe and energy were off the charts. This is just a 10 minute drive from JFK airport and my must stop when I am in the area. read more

My favorite Clutch Chinese food place EVER!!!! This small establishment is literally a gem for Valley Stream.. my foodie partner got me hooked onto this place!! You get so much food for your dollar!! They make one of the best crispy general tso chicken!! It's super flavorful with more of a honey taste to it!! One of my faves!! Another one of my faves from them is their chicken and broccoli! Always cooked perfect, and always alot of chicken and lots of broccoli to fill one up!!! The owner is super sweet!! And always they are always consistent with their food!! Golden Kitchen is now under new management with many new menu options. I enjoyed the changes to the Hot and Sour soup. It was lighter and more flavorful with mushrooms cut to a good size for eating. It was spicier but personally I like that better. Ordered a Lychee fruit tea which came with lots of lychee fruit in it. It was sweet but not too sweet. Had chicken and mushrooms this visit and that did not seem changed too much but was enjoyable. I look forward to trying the rice bowl options which were added to the menu. New staff were very personable in my encounter. I also like that they added new chairs to the table in the store. Very comfy. Generally seemed neat and clean, with a gleaming wall for all the new bubble tea, fruit tea, & smoothie making. read more

nice and cozy place. the food is delicious. the workers are very helpful and kind. would recommend!!

Ok fellow foodie's, I'm absolutely sad and sorry to say the legendary Golden house is gone, apparently it's under new owners and the food sucks. As of today I'm removing this location out of my foodie spots list in my Apple Maps. I ordered what use to be the famous sesame chicken with pork fried rice and what I got was greasy, poor breaded chicken and shrimp along with under cooked fried rice. The legend is gone read more

I can confirm that they are under new management. I was a bit disappointed to hear that at first but I gave it a try anyway. The food is completely different taste from the previous management but it was actually good. Everything had flavor. My go to is the chicken & broccoli. read more

100000/10. I moved to Queens and will still drive over a half hour to get it. Every time I'm in the neighborhood my best friend and I make it a point to get lunch here. This place never disappoints! read more

This place looks somewhat rundown but the sesame with pork fried rice was legit great. The pork fried rice had fresh roast pork pieces. The four stars are for the tasty order but not the looks of the place. read more

For a Chinese takeout spot this place hits the spot. Ordered the general tso chicken and general tso shrimp with pork fried rice and it came out amazing. The outer part was crunchy and sweet and tangy, probably the best general tso variation I've ever had before. The owner is very sweet and friendly. This is another Valley Stream high school lunch spot because of how close it is to MJHS and VSCHS. I remember going here for lunch when I went to a memorial back in the day maybe 20 years ago. Still a great place for Chinese takeout then as it is now. read more

Finally! I love Chinese food. My favorite dish is chicken with broccoli. Ive ordered from so many places where the "chicken" doesn't taste or look like chicken. This place is not one of those places. Yes its a hole in the wall but the food was so tasty and the chicken tasted and looked like chicken! I will be ordering my chicken and broccoli from here from now on! read more

The people that work at this establishment are very nice. However, the food is mediocre. The General Tso's chicken was too sweet and very crunchy. The Chicken Lo Mein, fried rice and Chicken with Cashew nuts were tasteless. The best part of my food order was the egg roll. I'm very disappointed and will not be ordering from here again. read more

I had to write a review based on my experience ordering the General Tso Chicken. I have eaten and tried many Chinese restaurants over the the US but this has to be the worst General Tso Chicken I have ever had. It's incredibly beyond sweet soaked in a black gooey mess of a sauce. Usually General Tso has a orange reddish color texture but this was blackish color that overpowered the chicken with intense sweetness. Also the fried rice is salty with too much soy sauce. If you don't believe, order the dish yourself and see how disappointed you are. Maybe they see this review and prepare the dish the right way. Only positive adding one star, price was reasonable and spring roll was good. Other than that, I would stick to ordering something else read more

Delicious food every time! Everything is super fresh and the flavoring is perfect. They also use 100% vegetable oil which is great. It's a nice family owned business with very friendly staff. There's also convenient parking (meters) right out front. 5/5 stars! read more

Wings were fried nice and they were tasty. The fried rice was also good! I would eat from here again!

My favorite Chinese place. I don't trust any other place except this place and two others. They make amazing food that's not too salty or greasy. I always get house fried rice and chicken and broccoli ( or sesame chicken) and I'm never disappointed. Also great prices and a great lunch special! The owners are very nice and friendly as well. read more

So I was in the mood for Chinese food and my wife and I decided to look for a new place. I found this place on yelp and we both agreed to give it a try. The place is not very appealing to the eye, looks more like a place you would find in an urban city neighborhood. But we gave it a try any how. Can I tell you it was the best decision we made that day. Wow! The food was great! I have never eaten an entire serving of Chinese food can I tell you my bowl was empty so was my wife's. If you go in person just remember looks are deceiving. Best take out I've had seen moving to Long Island. read more

A whole in the wall but the food is delicious. All except the chicken wings. My favorite is the house rice.

Amy and Lee are the best. Their General Tso is a very unique recipe and I haven't had anything close to it anywhere. The are always friendly and the food is tremendous. It's a take out place and what it lacks in curb appeal it more than makes up in value and most importantly taste. You won't be disappointed. I've ordered from there for 10 years. Never have I been disappointed. It's Chinese comfort food at its best! And if you want to get a smile from the chef, tell him how much you like LeBron! read more
