I went to Pearl East with a party of 7 that included adults and children. 1) the ambiance was amazing. this is a sit-down full-service restaurant, not a take out restaurant with seating. 2) we were immediately greeted by the host and did not have to wait long to be seated. 3) The food was delicious. I knew we were in for a meal because the Hot & Sour Soup was the best I've had in Nassau. We also had Peking Duck, Ribs, BBQ Shrimp, and Fresh sea bass with ginger and scallions were the show stoppers. We ordered the Sesame Chicken for the kids, and it was tasty, but if you want an amazing meal order off the signature dish menu. 4) finally, Cathy, the owner, walks the floor and visits every table throughout the night. The wait staff was extremely attentive. Its been a few days and my family and I are still talking about our experience and food. Definitely going back soon! read more

A well known local favorite for years. I came here as a kid when visiting friends. Came back again many years later with family and had a topnotch experience. Valet parking is great. Everything on the menu is superb and is expertly prepared. The hospitality, from the hostess to the wait staff was par excellence. All the food was authentic and delicious. Everyone had ice ream for dessert that was fun and refreshing. If you want to know where to go, Manhasset has it. Pearl East! read more

So it's been a while and we decided to get lunch from Pearl East on Northern Blvd. We looked in the bag and the plastic containers were very small. The hot and sour soup was very very good, but the lunches ranging $17 to $21 are terribly overpriced for such small portions. There no eggroll included, those are $4.50 each. The food itself was good, but not great, so it'll be forever and year before we head back to Pearl. read more

Good clean well prepared tasty food. Service is excellent and staff is always ready to help.

It doesn't get any better than Pearl East! I live in Howard Beach and wouldn't dream of having Chinese food anywhere else. The food is divine, the service unparalleled, the cost as reasonable as some takeout! How do they do it? We always start with an array of appetizers. Egg roll, rice paper shrimp rolls, pot stickers (pork dumplings), scallion pancake, Kani salad and wonton soup. Seems like a lot, but we can never choose just two, lol. Then the entree varies and it is tough to decide. Sliced white meat chicken in spicy chili sauce, shredded roast pork with vegetables, chicken chow mein, any fried rice, lobster with scallion and ginger or filet of beef with cumin are just a few of our favorites. Great to go with friends and share so you can try a variety of items! Finish with ice cream or fruit! Never disappointed wish I could give them ten stars! read more

Went for an early dinner at Pearl East, highly recommended by our neighbors and they didn't disappoint. There is parking in front of the restaurant including 2 handicap slots, not sure if there is more parking in the back. The facade matches the Chinese Cuisine as advertised, the decor inside is beautiful, clean, classic and tasteful. PE has a comprehensive menu which includes Japanese Cuisine. Our dishes were delicious with a nice presentation. The service was "old school", we were greeted at the door and showed to our table; almost immediately a server came with tea, water, dried noodles and sauce. The Lychee Martini was very good. We skipped dessert, I owe you that review Please see the pictures. Try Pearl East read more

The food here is always of the highest quality. We've eaten our way through the menu and everything has always been delicious. The staff here and especially the owner are welcoming and very friendly. There's a reason why the restaurant is always busy. Even for lunch. The room is decorated beautifully. There was nothing missed in decorating the restaurant, even the stunning wallpaper. read more

Pearl East consistently delivers on both food quality and variety. Their menu has a perfect balance between authentic traditional Chinese cuisine--think honey walnut shrimp, fresh made dumplings, and roast duck--and classic takeout favorites like wonton soup and crispy egg rolls, spring rolls. Their sashimi and sushi are also great quality like main sushi restaurants. The service is warm and personable, fostering a clear sense of loyalty among the regulars. I recently discovered they even have a private back room perfect for large parties, which I hadn't noticed before! With a great lunch menu and the rare Long Island luxury of convenient parking, this is a spot that more people need to have on their radar. People that come here will keep coming back. read more

I eat at the Manhasset location occasionally-but parking there is terrible and that's what keeps me from going there. On this particular occasion I decided to order via Uber Eats and was not happy with my order. It was cold by the time it got to me. Here's what I was told by the driver - the order had been mistakenly picked up by another driver and he had to wait. When I called the restaurant to try and get the truth the gentleman answered the phone was evasive on what happened and when I questioned him further he got defensive and said that he wasn't there when "it happened" I still don't know what happened - did the wrong driver take the food and it had to be remade by restaurant and wait for another driver. OR was the food returned by the first driver to the restaurant and the second driver took the bag and delivered it to me, in which case I had multiple hands on my bag. Just to be safe - never ordering from that restaurant again and never using Uber Eats again - both places are equally at fault here. Can't stand not being told the truth - that's underestimating me read more

"There Is Nothing I Can Do" says the owner when we asked why we have not received our food. "There's a big Party"" we are very busy." I reply, " the party came in way after I put my order in. We came here after my grandmas unveiling. This restaurant is very special to our family since this was my grandmas favorite restaurant. She would order to her apartment, come and sit with friends, and her office would host holiday parties here. I want to give a big thank you to the owner here for always loving my grandma Cookie and taking care of her. The restaurant is upscale and beautiful. They did a great job decorating. The food here is great. They have sushi and Chinese food. Sushi is always fresh and delicious! The honey walnut shrimp was my grandmas favorite and it was great. Their entire menu is great. There's not one dish I wouldn't recommend. The waiters are always friendly and kind. If you get here early enough you can park yourself or they have valet. I highly recommend Pearl East, not only is the food amazing but they treat you like family! read more

Good food . I looked through the pictures of food on yelp as opposed looking at the menu this time. I was reminded they give complementary ice cream and fruit at the end of the meal like most Chinese food sit in restaurants did if they didn't have dessert on the menu. We were stuffed from the delicious food we ate but looking forward to that slice of orange or taste of ice cream. We received 4 chocolate wontons and a 2009 dollar bill. I asked the waiter jokingly, " what happened? You don't like us? He said they don't give fruit anymore or ice cream since Covid. ( MEANWHILE) the table next to us and across from us got it. I'm going to take all the candies from the front when i leave next time!! Food is good all. Enjoy read more

Pearl East was definitely a shocking pleasant surprise. We looked on Yelp for a restaurant to go eat at that was pretty local , we never heard about this location . When we arrived there was valet , which was great , then you enter and it was so beautiful. The Edamames were delicious, the wontons were to die for and we had shared meals and it was all so good and the best thing was the price : We will definitely be returning here !!! read more

Made reservations in advance as 4 of us are meeting here for dinner. Basic Chinese American cuisine that is consistently good. Service is on point and the menu has something for everyone. We weren't rushed and sat talking and eating for hours. There is Cantonese food, sushi, dim sum and signature dishes filling a ten page menu. Everything looked appealing and inventive. Our egg rolls were flavorful. I enjoyed my Peking duck prepared table side. My husband's mango chicken was abundant, fresh & sweet. Friends enjoyed their soups, curry shrimp and butterfly shrimp. read more

Best Chinese food on Long Island! Always packed and sometimes have to wait if you have a reservation, but the vibe and food make up for the wait. Recommended for sure if you'd like something better than your average. Started with soup dumps and soup. Very good. The peking duck meat was really juicy, better than I was expecting. Served table side in pancakes with fresh julienne slice cucumber and each had a nice crisp of skin. Plated and a dab of plum sauce (more like a c added. Lobster with ginger and scallion was delish too. Some work to do even though knuckles where knifed. Orange crispy beef was cooked well and was tasty. The special fried rice was "ok". Needed some sauce. read more

This review is for takeout, I've ordered from them twice now and I have to say the food here is exceptional. Very unique dishes, my favorite Mango Chicken with honey walnuts and asparagus... simply outstanding. They also make a lot of their dishes gluten free as well. Egg rolls are pork and shrimp combined so beware if you are allergic to shrimp. The Ambience is beautiful and clean with white tablecloths as I looked in the dining area as I picked up my takeout. My only negative is the cost, probably one of the most expensive Chinese food restaurant on Long Island, but it's so good it's worth it. Definitely recommend read more

It is unexpectedly nice inside the restaurant. There is a touch of elegance inspired by Asian decor. We were disappointed not to have sushi during Saturday lunchtime visit. They offering it at 4 pm as we were told. The menu seems pretty for what they offer for sushi sashimi and maki. Only few Chinese restaurants has listed these cuisine and appreciate that they do. It only means one thing, we need to make a return! Nevertheless, the jumbo shrimp tempura compensated for my disappointment . It was huge. It came with veggies tempura and special sauce. My companion found her salmon teriyaki pretty good. It came in huge portion too. What surprised me was their shrimp fried rice. I could considered it already a meal, huge serving, tasty , delicious. I think it is smoked too . To add, the on the house noodle appetizer is enticing. Another unique offer. Complimentary hot tea is a favorite. I skipped dessert though I see that there have plenty of choices. My friend ordered an ice cream. Nothing special about it. The place is neat, clean and presentable if coming for a group meeting. If thinking of having a group party, they have a private room in the back. read more

I had the pleasure of coming here for a birthday party and I was knocked out. It was so good. Dish after dish of deliciousness came out I cannot even pronounce half of them, but they were completely authentic and full of flavor. The service was impeccable and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in great neck or in the surrounding area. Outside of Chinatown this is the best thing going. read more

My family has been enjoying Pearls for probably more than 20 years ! It has been going less than perfect in the last few years. My brother and I went this evening and it was a zoo and everything about it was horrible. We ended up leaving in the middle of appetizer. I stopped by here before so this is an overdue review. I decided to grab a bite to eat here for lunch. I was kind of unsure of what I wanted to order, a lot of Chinese restaurants including here do not give descriptions of menu items and I don't particularly like some vegetables that are in some dishes. I ended up with Chicken and Broccoli and I asked for spicy garlic sauce. I started off with hot and sour soup and an egg roll. The egg roll was good but a little bit oily. The hot and sour soup was piping hot (almost burnt my mouth lol). It was very good and full of black mushrooms. The chicken and broccoli was not my favorite-the sauce wasn't even really a sauce, more like a glaze and not spicy at all. Fortunately the soup and egg roll plus the complimentary noodles filled me up so I didn't feel too guilty leaving a little of my food leftover. Service was very good and the hostess greeting me was very friendly and checked up on me to see how my meal was. If I'm in the area I may stop by again but try something else. read more

We decided to go back to Pearl East about 3 years ago, and live with the gentlemen up front, waiters are much better these days. I can't believe I forgot to post this review earlier. So ok, let's try again. We came here with Mommy, my mother-in-law, on Christmas. The restaurant is big, beautiful, and practices social distancing, and very clean. We had Philip as our waiter. We ordered hot and sour soup and wonton soup to start. The hot and sour soup was delicious. Mommy and I enjoyed it. Hubby enjoyed his wonton soup. I tried some, and that was very good too. For the entree, we ordered a snapper that came creatively and served with bok choy. I asked for sauce on the side. The dish was perfect. We also ordered sizzling oriental mish. This sizzling dish was excellent. It includes lobster tail, jumbo shrimp, and some vegetables. Another great dish was barbecued jumbo shrimp. It had great taste in it. I loved all three dishes. We plan to come back for more great dishes. The restaurant, including a ladies restroom, is clean and beautiful. Great food and service. Thanks! read more

Service is horrible, they forgot my husband's food, and ignored us once seated. The owner is rude and nasty

First time here in 20 yrs but based on the rave reviews on the Tri-State restaurant site on Facebook we decided to try Pearl's again. Honestly for Cantonese food I had a hard time choosing an entree. Server also brought out skinny dipping noodles until I asked for the wide crispy ones. I made up my own dish which totally confused my server -- shrimp with baby eggplant in black bean sauce. Also I do not like sitting in the lap of other diners, very tight spacing for the 2 of us. Hubby liked his chicken chow fun but the chicken pieces were very small and almost invisible. Boneless ribs were fatty. Sorry there's a reason why we haven't gone back in 2 decades.... read more

So this may be the best Chinese restaurant on Long Island outside of Chinatown in Manhattan, highly recommend any of their signature dishes, and they also have great sushi, the waiters have the attitude of the waiters in Chinatown.
