But Kai Ying really left a good impression on their take out. I ordered their chicken wing (ain't no thang but a chicken wang" lunch special with pork fried rice. You know it's legit when their pork fried rice actually comes with roast pork, diced onions, peas, carrots, bean sprouts and scallions. They don't skimp on the ingredients. Sorry to all those of you that have to pick out all your vegetables. The fried rice has a good WOK-Hei flavor (a Cantonese term for a nice char high heat roast flavor). The chicken wing was okay. As a first time customer in the Kai-Ying Chinese restaurant, located in, College Point, N.Y., I had a bad experience. One of the employees who work at the cash register, and take orders, was very rude to me. It was a female employee. I simply asked her a question, about one of the menu items, and she spoke to me, in a very mean manner, when I tried to make an order afterwards, she ignored me, and refused to take my order. Deliveries are quick and the staff are very friendly. Everyone has their favorites. I'm particularly fond of egg foo yung and they prepare a classic Cantonese omelette that's generous and tasty. Order the General Tso's Chicken extra crispy with sauce on the side. (Trust me.) Although the meat filling is really good, it's best to avoid the fried or steamed dumplings. They'll lay in your stomach like little bricks. My grandson's favorite - Fried Chicken Wings and Roast Pork Fried Rice (no peas) is a winner as is the Shrimp with Garlic Sauce (I always order it spicy with extra veggies.). You know what you like. Try Kai-Ying's version; maybe add your own spin and you'll be happy too. There's metered street parking (until 7pm) and they're closed on Sundays. It's non wheelchair accessible. The prices are good too , always ask for the free soda or soup if you have a right to it since sometimes they don't even remind you. My issue is with the delivery guy , he always expect you to over tip him even if the order amount is low or your house is really like one block from the restaurant.
