I've lived in the area for 47 years and Long Will has always been out go to. Whenever I'm not feeling well I get a quart of chicken and rice soup from them. I was recently in the hospital. Not sure what to eat, I was craving the soup so my husband walked over. He came back with a quart of chicken and noodle soup that was the nastiest thing I've eaten in a long time. I always like trying out Chinese fast food takeout and there is an endless supply of them within driving distance. Since I've been working from home during the pandemic, I go to pick up my wife from the subway station and King Wok is convenient to stop and pick up dinner on the way home. I phone in my order along the way and it's ready on the return trip. Prices seem to be a little higher than other neighborhood Chinese restaurants, but the convenience factor with a parking lot makes up for it. Similar to others, King Wok offers many of the same dishes with slight differences. The standard Beef & Broccoli and General Tso's Chicken are featured on the menu, but nobody can do everything well to our liking, so I'll stick to our regular menu items. One of our favorites is the Wok Fried Chicken Dumplings which comes 12 per order (available steamed also). We liked the Eggplant in Garlic Sauce a lot, though the dark colored sauce was offputting at first, but tasted really good. I also liked the Chicken Corn Soup. We get a quart size every time. Egg Foo Young and Sweet & Sour Pork are pretty standard. We were not fans of the Cold Sesame Noodles though. It had way too much peanut sauce. The Bean Curd was tasteless as Bean Curd tends to be, unless you use a good sauce. Their pandemic protocols are plastic shielding over the counter with a 2 door lockout box and an electronic comm system. Speak into the mike. Grab your own sauce packets on the way out. This has been my Chinese takeout spot for at least 20 years. They always managed to make me happy with my order. During COVID I wanted to support them again and the service was not nice as before. Considering all the stress we all had during that time and more so how Asian Americans were targeted, I didn't hold a grade. Yesterday I craved Chinese and order my "usual": Singapore rice noodles and I ordered something I didn't for a very long time: Shrimp lo main. The order was delivered very soon after I placed it. Yey. I was starving. Only to be disappointed as it was so oily, especially my favorite the Singapore noodles. It had exactly three shrimps in it yet the price was 20% higher than about a year ago. Yes, there's inflation going on, but this with less shrimp makes it even more expensive. The Lo Main was expected to be more fatty dish but it was even more greedy and not lacked flavors. Gladly I also ordered the hot oil so I could improve it. If I wasn't as hungry as I was, it would have gone to the trash. I guess I'll have to find a new joint for my takeout. read more

I've lived in King Garden Hills since the summer of 1995. King Wok has been a staple in the community & a family favorite for years. Last night was the absolute worse encounter I ever had with them. My family and I decided take out, we were spending time together so it was easy & literally around the corner. One large order later the delivery person called my phone screaming for the address. No big deal, even being around the corner we understand the entrance to this building can be challenging specifically at night. my husband went outside to meet him, gave him a cash tip. The delivery driver responded with "that's it?, this is not enough". As my husband walked in to tell us the conversation I received a call from the restaurant saying the delivery driver asked them to call me. I responded we never told the delivery driver that we needed a call back. 3 additional calls later, my husband picks up the call and is told by the person from the restaurant that we must tip more and that's why he keeps calling, that his drivers rely on tips. after some words we hung up. Its the audacity truly for me. We normally are generous tippers for all food industry however we are on a tight budget with a pending out of state move & we gave what we could on an 80 dollar order, how dare they demand something that is in fact voluntary. Beware, if you order take out for delivery especially you will be harassed for a large tip because "that's how they pay them". smh Do better yall and exhibit some kindness, you never know what your patrons are going thru. read more

I ordered the lunch special at work today as they are close by I ordered Chicken with Broccoli which came with Pork Fried Rice and a soda I also ordered a pint of plain LoMein The food came in under 20 minutes and was very fresh and hot Large pieces of Broccoli and very generous amounts of chicken I was only able to eat half and save the other half for tomorrows lunch Great food , quick service !! read more

This restaurant has become our neighborhood go too when we want Chinese. I always order the same thing, shrimp and broccoli with white sauce (healthier option) while my husband orders other shrimp dishes since we do not eat meat. We order from them often and every experience has always been great. The fan tail fried shrimp appetizer is also good. They have a small dining area but at this current time (covid) dining in is not an option. We always grab our orders to go anyway. Parking lot is shared with a few other establishments. We had an issue once where our order was wrong. We phoned in our order (had relatives in town), my husband went to pick it up and it was incorrect. Usually a decent spot (3 avg.) when you want to get something quick but today gets 1 star! Ordered roast pork fried rice (tasty and nice chunks of pork), along with bbq sparerib app...here's where things went downhill...for the small bbq spareribs they give you 5 ribs...I did get 5; however 3 out of the 5 were completely just bone. I mean they were the small end of the rib and had practically no meat, and just the skin membrane on the bone...so in reality, I got 2 ribs. Not good! read more

Calling and picking up is best option - their deliveries can be 45min + wait as of recent. A decent amount of food is given whether you order from the lunch special, combination platter or by the pint/quart. They also cater if you were interested in ordering party trays. I love the food at King Wok and have been ordering take out from them for years. I usually get the chicken broccoli combo with pork fried rice, but i deviated and ordered the Singapore Mei Fun with shrimp. It was spicy and delicious... just out of this world! I wish I had taken a picture but I ate it all! I will get the same thing with chicken next time. We ordered pan fried dumplings as well and they were pretty good. My son likes the chicken wings as there is a lot of meat on the bone! They have fast delivery and the food is always hot. I make sure to give a nice tip to the delivery guy. Very disappointed... We are long time customers. This used to be about the best in the neighborhood. Prices have been raised but now they skimp on ingredients. After an hr wait for delivery, fried rice had poor quality rice containing none of the usual scallions,eggs, or other veggies and only some small pieces of pork. Egg rolls have reduced in size. Egg foo yung was smaller, kind of spongy and lacked veggies. Cold sesame noodle sauce was too peanut buttery. At least the ribs were tasty, steamed broccoli was fresh and the food was hot when it finally arrived. read more

About two years have gone by since my last review of this Chinese take out and I felt the need to commend them on their consistency in food prep and quality of their cooking. With so many other Chinese take outs in the area closing down (it is no wonder), King Wok has decided to raise their prices slightly. It is still a good deal for the area and the food is always a hit. I used to come here every week but a few years ago I ordered a combo platter (Szechuan chicken)and to my surprise there was a bristle brush in the chicken. Since I was eating at the premises I told the person in charge what I had found in my meal. Instead of an apology, he told me that was part of my food experience. This place used to be good when I lived in the area, not any more. Very greasy, weird flavor in their food. No bueno. I don't know what happened but it fell off. Service was okay, food came out quickly but the flavor wasn't there. There are many better locations in the area. King Wok is my favorite Chinese take out restaurant. I order from here once a week. The best things on their menu which is what I usually order are: - Fried Szechuan Dumplings. This is a must have every time I order. - Chicken fried rice or pork fried rice. (Please note that they add scrambled eggs in their fried rice, which I prefer.) - The best thing I've had here are their boneless spare ribs. This is my guilty pleasure food. - They also make good pork wontons. Very tasty and crunchy. - King wok is also very accommodating, whether it's giving you the chicken steamed in lieu of sautéed, and giving you the sauce for your meal on the side so that you can control the amount of sauce you choose to mix with your food. For several months, however, the establishment had less than stellar ratings with the Board of Health so I visited the competition in the area. Seeing a recent "A" rating from the Board of Health, I decided to give this place a try again. I ordered the steamed chicken lunch special. $7.35 with tax and soda. The photo shows the dish. First of all, it's more like steamed white rice with a small amount of steamed chicken thrown in. The chicken itself was surprisingly tough and, for some reason came with celery which I've not recalled having in this dish or any Chinese dish for that matter. I've seen Chinese celery in Chinese dishes but not plain celery. The plain carrots that also were included in the dish had some unsightly white stuff on them. Also, the order taker was rude. My family and I thought we would check this place out for delivery, and were impressed with the ratings here on Yelp. We were quite disappointed. Took a long time to get someone on the phone, delivery took well over the estimated time and they didnt bring my complete order! I ordered sauce on the side of my steamed meal and it was missing. The person who packed our order neglected to include my full meal, napkins, utensils, fortune cookies and hot sauce, Called them promptly after and to their credit they were understanding and apologetic. It did take time to receive my sauce and my food was cold by then. Food was relatively expensive and tasted relatively bland. The steamed shrimp dumplings were chewy with little flavor. This may look like your typical chinese take out food but it has a lot more to offer. We come here mostly for the LOBSTER. At 9.95 it is definately a steal. Lobster is cooked to however you want it.. its like having a chef. There was a time where my bf and I came here 4 times. Thats probably how I packed on 5 pounds within 2 weeks. We have lobster with scallions and ginger. The lobster is cut up usually where the meat is for easy access without you having to fling any meat to your partner. Never ordered takeout here but i'll suggest to DINE IN as with any stir fry or deep fried foods, when it gets cold it gets hard and soggy. Food is ok. Fried rice is regularly dry. Portions are small. Egg Rolls are tiny. Large orders of standard dishes like chicken and broccoli (not the chef's specialties) are $12-$13. That's $3-$4 more than every other Chinese take-out around. Ridiculous, especially because the food is not great and the employees are especially rude and unfriendly (although rude and unfriendly is the industry standard). King Wok is by far the best Chinese take out place in the Queens/Nassau/Brooklyn area. Their prices are a little steep. But it's worth it because they are always (With the exception of the fried chicken) consistently excellent! I would describe the different dishes. But i have been enjoying their food for a very long time. they do everything very well. Once again the one exception is the fried chicken. It's a little hit, or miss. Sometimes could be a touch fresher The service? For the most part they are Super friendly. The exception is an older man who sometimes mans the counter that I would describe as a Clown, and rude. I've been ordering from this place since I was in first grade. What separates this restaurant from other Chinese fast food take out places is the fried pork dumplings, which comes with its own unique sauce. Usually, the dumpling sauces from these restaurants are soy sauce with vinegar, but this restaurant provides sauce that is a little bit sweet - I think it has grated apple in it. It mingles well with the dumplings. The other go-to-dishes are nothing special, and the General Tsao could be better but the fried pork dumplings are a must.
