King's Chef Fried Chicken Wing (4 whole pcs) Combo Plate
    Francisco C.

I have to start this review with praising the chicken wings. They are hands down the best chicken wings I have ever eaten. I understand why the owner takes so much pride in his food, the quality of the food is amazing. The restaurant is small and I usually only do takeout but I highly recommend making the trip just for the wings alone.

I came here with a friend on a whim, because I was craving Chinese takeout. Honestly it's okay, BUT YOU MUST TRY THE FRIED CHICKEN. It is a bit pricey, but very flavorful and worth it. It is right next to Popeye's but can stand up to a competition with them for their fried chicken wings!! We were very surprised with how good this chicken was. The rest of the food is okay-pretty basic. We tried the pork fried rice and the chicken lo-mein. I say "chicken" but I think they mistakingly gave me fish... it tasted, smelled and had the texture of fish. I'm a person that likes fish, but it was very mushy and unfavorable. Also the lo-mein was pretty bland. The place itself is very small and has limited seating, although we took it to go it looked pretty clean while we waited. I will definitely be ordering the fried chicken again!! But nothing else. I forgot to take pictures before eating, but I will next time!!

Friend said it's the best fried chicken wings. They were indeed very good. Crispy outside. Inside is juicy and tasty. Not salty at all. Good Flavor. Big size too! $9 for four wings. It sounds expensive but considering the flavor and the size, it's reasonable. We didn't try other items. But will for sure return to get more wings plus more!

I ordered from here several times and it was always decent but today I'm not sure if it was a mistake or not. I ordered fried wonton's and there was literally the smallest amount of meat in the wonton. Not sure if that's normal but if it is I will not be ordering them again. See pic!

I got in really late from the airport and the owner was nice enough to cook something after shutting everything down. I only ordered one dish...shrimp w noodles. The flavor was good although not much to depth. Was able to make it spicy for me and gave me even extra hot oil just in case. The dish could have used a bit more shrimp and adding some more vegetables might have made it a bit healthier. I've had better and I've had worse...but good service!

ordered chinese take out and they delivered it in a used box..... how unsanitary.

ordered $40 worth of food and they dump it onto a used box tht was used for frozen turkey??? Quite disgusting. The chicken was supposed the best . Not sure how but it had so much feathers on it and is heavily coated in oil. Definitely wont be ordering from me anymore.

okay this place is reaalllllllllly ballsy for being next to Popeyes!!!!! Fried Chicken Wings - we ate these right away in the car maybe like 5 minutes after picking it up! Right off the bat you can see it's perfectly fried, a nice crust and it just smelt amazing! The chicken was extremely juicy and fall off the bone tender, it made eating chicken wings in your car extremely convenient!!! The batter was a teensy bit on the thicker side but it was fried so perfectly, I didn't even mind Fried Rice - Amazinggggg. There were also 4 sizable pieces of shrimp!! There's a term in Chinese that we use - Wok Hay - this had a lot of wok hay!! According to the internet, wok hay is only achieved over very high heat which charred the ingredients causing it to have a particular essence and aroma. As you can see each grain of rice is highlighted, they do not stick to each other but also isn't hard like old rice! Hot & Sour Soup - not hot or sour...... :( we ended up pouring the hot sauce for the chicken into the soup and it was mostly corn starchy. Would not order again.... :(

The worst service I have ever experienced. They don't even acknowledge you when you walk in. Don't understand how they run this business.

Best chicken wings and pork fried rice ever. Be prepared to wait though because it is made fresh. Trust me it is worth the wait.

Cuisine: 6 Service: 7…read moreDecor: 4 Value: 7 I have not been here in a long time. Maybe because the prices are no longer considered cheap eats. Or maybe because my taste buds have evolved over the years. Or maybe it's just not as good as it used to be. The answer is maybe all three and somewhere in the middle. I have never came here, or any other Latino-Chinese restaurants in NYC, for service or decor, so let's set that aside. The value is still somewhat there, but the food did not hit that nostalgic note I was looking for. I wanted to get the Fried Pork Chops (Chuletas De Cerdo Frita), but our server suggested the "juicier" Broiled Pork Chops (Chuletas De Credo Asada) instead. Sorry to report, if that's juicy, then how dry is the fried pork chops? I shutter at the thought. It was also under seasoned. I substituted the House Fried Rice for my side at an $4.50 additional fee. It was just okay and not worth the upgrade. Boneless Crispy Fried Chicken (Chicharron De Pollo) was also a disappointment. The batter was more hard than crispy, but the idea that boneless dark meat isn't more juicy simply tells me that the chef over fried the pieces. It came with Fried sweet plantains, which could have been a but more ripe but not bad. I'm not sure how I feel about the Beef Stew (Carne Guisada), which had relatively tender meat, but the sauce was so weak and lacked any real flavor. The black beans and white rice that came with it was decent. What might bring me back to this restaurant sooner rather than later was the Shrimp Egg Foo Young (foo Young Con Camarones). I felt that the eggs were cooked extremely well, but the star of the show was that delicious brown sauce full of umami. Having this over white or fried rice made this meal much more acceptable. I'm not sure when I'll have another craving for this type of food. If I do, I'll definitely get the egg foo young again. However, the other dishes were misses for me, so maybe I'll try the Fried Pork Chops and Shredded Beef in Tomato SayceRopa Vieja.

It's amazing to step into this restaurant, it's like stepping into another world where anything is possible. I feel like home whenever I come here. My favorable dishes are the combo dishes because I can choose fried rice or noodles or French fries with a meat usually, Yummylicious to the core!

I ordered the cured pork with garlic shoots and dry fried green beans. The cured pork was quite salty, and paired well with the buttery, tender leeks it was cooked with. The dish was not overly oily, and was pleasant over white rice. I enjoyed the chewiness of the pork which allowed you to experience the complex flavor. The green beans were well fried, with characteristic texture signature to this dish. The seasoning was very well balanced and not overpowering to the natural sweetness of the green beans. I would recommend either dish. They were both slightly toned down iterations when compared to the times I've eaten these dishes at other Sichuan restaurants in flushing, but still well seasoned and well cooked. The service was very warm and friendly, and many other customers seemed to be returning regulars.

Warning to all with a pineapple allergy like me: do not eat the duck sauce. If you like spicy ask for hot mustard instead. Orange chicken was crispy and flavorful. I did not find it spicy, but my spice tolerance is very high. My fiance had the chicken with broccoli and it looked amazing. Try the cold noodles. They are chewy and delicious. For me the fried dumplings were good, but not great. Worth a try but nothing to rave over.
