Sautéed shrimp with broccoli - A takeout container holds white rice, sesame chicken topped with sesame seeds, steamed broccoli, and fried tofu in sauce.

We wanted to grab some Chinese food takeout in the neighborhood. We called shortly after they were opened and they were certainly backed up a little bit, which is fine just means people are ordering from them. I ordered a shrimp lo mein and the size and taste was to be expected. It wasn't oily at all and was decent. My wife got the sautéed shrimp with broccoli and rice lunch special. The shrimps (about 5) were the big ones and nicely fried and had a good sauce on top, but the sauce was scarce and wised they gave more. My wife felt the dish was just average. I would give them 3 stars based off this visit. The customer service is very good though.

This spot is SO fresh!! My second time coming here and the food is always fresh and hot! It's the typical chicken quality you'd get at any Chinese take out but this is the freshest of them all. Hope they stay like this.

General Tso's Chicken and pork fried rice - A detailed close-up of fried rice mixed with vegetables and topped with saucy, battered chicken pieces from a Chinese fast food restaurant.

This place is HORRIBLE. Save your money and take it elsewhere. I ordered general tso chicken, pork fried rice and an egg roll; my daughter ordered fried chicken wings and chicken fried rice (with no vegetables). The egg roll was ONLY cabbage, no meat whatsoever (I have attached pictures) and super bland. My general tso was all breading and a tiny piece of suspiciously dark dark meat. The sauce was really watery. Our rice HAD NO EGG, and no flavor. I inquired to the worker about this and she told me i had to ask for the egg. Umm. Well this is perplexing. Never have I ever in my life had to ask for egg in my fried rice.

They have a larger dining room that's perfect for big groups, so getting everyone together is comfortable and stress-free. The food is solid, classic Chinese comfort fare -- flavorful, satisfying, and yes, unapologetically rich in MSG (the good kind that makes everything extra tasty). The Fish Fillet Home Style is always a hit with the younger crowd, and the Double Cooked Pork is another standout -- think lechon-style pork belly tossed with plenty of vegetables in a savory brown sauce. That combo somehow gets the kids happily eating their veggies too. They also do Hot & Sour Soup right -- nicely balanced with the perfect tang and heat. The sautéed snow pea leaves with garlic is a staple order for us, and the pan-fried noodles are consistently delicious with great texture. The crispy garlic chicken was surprisingly good as well -- super flavorful and cooked just right. Portions are generous, making it ideal for sharing family-style. The staff are friendly and quick, and the place is clean and well-kept, which makes dining there even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a reliable, no-frills spot for big group dining with satisfying dishes, Wo Kee delivers every time.

Cuisine: 7 Service: 6…read moreDecor: 4 Value: 9 Overall: 7 Maybe one of the most popular options for food across from the courthouses for jurors during their lunch break. I was one of them when I first visited this restaurant about a decade ago and did so during my recent session again. Though they may be one of the best options for traditional Chinese food in the area, comparing them to restaurants in Flushing would land them on the lower end of the spectrum. With that said, they do certain things relatively well, namely the dumplings. I prefer their pan fried dumplings over the boiled because of the skin texture. For some reason, the boiled ones felt a bit tough and chewy, while the pan fried dumplings were better, especially since it has a crispy crust on the bottom. Fillings I have tried are chive & pork, as well as cabbage & pork. Both were quite good and stuffed to the brim. I also do like their wontons with spicy sauce, which has a shrimp & pork filling. Also plump and juicy, these wontons are quite delicious. The sauce is not really all that spicy, but flavorful. As for other items I have tried, most were not bad but below average. That includes the Dan Dan Mein, Beijing Style Noodles, and the Sesame Pancake with Beef. One thing I would recommend to skip would be the Hot & Sour Soup, which was neither hot or sour. If you are in the neighborhood and craving some dumplings or wontons, then seek out this little shop. However, if you want any other types of Chinese food, I would advise you to skip.

It's changed hands several times over the years that we've lived in the neighborhood, but the food has been pretty consistent. There's not much variation in Beef & Broccoli, Sweet & Sour Pork or Fried Chicken Wings. What has changed with the current owners is that they've tried to branch out from the cookie cutter Chinese takeout by expanding into other Asian cuisines, such as Thai. The main printed menu still has the standards, but new hand written menu signs hang from the wall with dishes such as Pad Thai and Pineapple Fried Rice (*w/ choice of protein). We still like to get our regular Pan Fried Pork Dumplings, our favorite Cold Sesame Noodles, Sesame Chicken (or Sweet & Sour or General Tso's) & Moo Goo Gai Pan. I like to add a large quart of Wonton Egg Drop soup for good measure because I love soup. It's Chinese-American comfort fast food, not something my mom would make, but it gets the job done quick. Pretty much any size order you throw at them, it will be ready in 20 minutes for pick-up. Those blazing hot woks are no joke. And you get a free can of soda for every $25 spent. You can also get a 32 oz quart of their homemade iced tea that is super sweet, but is a great thirst quencher in the summer. They take credit card payment (not sure which ones, probably Visa & MC) without additional fees and they are closed on Mondays.
