It was an awkward experience. After we snagged an opening table and sat before it was cleaned, our sandwiches arrived after another 10 minutes. Have only been here once so the first impression is a 5-star because of the simple menu and the cute area it's in. The inside is a little small for seating but it's great for a quick bite or sides. We tried a sandwich and an egg/veggie hash and both were great (egg dish wasn't as good as sandwich but still good veggies). The staff didn't have brioche bread when we went but they offered ciabatta and it turned out good, the portions are great and overall a place I'd recommend to others. We stopped in this morning for brunch since it's a place we haven't eaten at before. The food was extremely fresh and delicious. You could taste the quality ingredients. Their fresh in house made chips were crisp and had a perfectly simple flavor. The local tap root beer was amazing, I highly recommend you try it. They are only open for outdoor dining but it was a perfect day for a little fresh air, not too hot so ... it wasn't a big deal but in the heat, it would have been miserable. This place is so lovely- the people are incredibly kind, genuine, welcoming and so helpful. My mom and I went in today with my 17 month old daughter and they were just so warm and welcoming to have my wiggly little one there. They were so accommodating and didn't make us feel out of place since we had a baby when most everyone else was there on a work lunch break. It's a smaller venue with cute outdoor seating; I even told my mom I felt like we were traveling and in a different city because the ambiance and energy is so lovely and different than other places. We ordered Mac and cheese for my daughter and they brought it out very quickly and my mom & I shared a delicious and fresh hamburger with fries. I had heard such good things about Worth Takeaway that we decided to order take out even though it's bit of a trek. We got the bruschetta eggplant, buffalo chicken, a spicy pork, and a kid's mac n cheese. My BIL really liked the spicy pork--he said it was hot but balanced. My husband also liked the buffalo chicken but commented it was really, really spicy several times. I liked the flavors in the eggplant sandwich but the eggplant wasn't peeled--the end piece was pretty close to inedibly tough because of it. Because the menu said sandwiches come with sides--chips or greens, it didn't occur to me you have to specifically request chips. I guess because I didn't ask for chips (and no one asked when I phoned the order in), we didn't get sides for two of the sandwiches. Given our order was $50 for three sandwiches and a cup of mac n cheese, I wanted the chips. The verdict was if we're on that side of town, we'll stop in again. Among the road construction, parking was fairly easy to find today. It was a good thing, we had the address from Yelp to assist us for this sandwich spot had a small sign with a faint print of Worth takeaway on it. It couldn't be seen from the road. We ordered the popular, signature, crispy chicken sandwich ($9.75), French dip($10.50) and side salad ($2.00). The sriracha honey paired wonderfully with the fresh crispy chicken, ciabatta bun, lettuce, mayo and was topped with in-house made pickles. Yum! Our French dip arrived on a heavenly soft hoagie roll with a generous portion of caramelized onions and a bit of horseradish and Havarti. The best part was the au jus sauce which came piping hot and not overly salty. It actually tasted like fresh beef broth! I liked the sauce so much, I ate the remainder with a spoon! ;) The simple green side salad was small but fair for the price. It was exceptionally fresh and the tomatoes superb. Our Airbnb was literally a two minute drive from this amazing chic little sandwich spot. DO get their crispy chicken sandwich. DO enjoy their iced coffee with cinnamon. DO try their breakfast sandwich or burrito. Homemade French fries and potato chips are on point! We were going through the area and were looking for a quick takeout option on our way somewhere, when Worth came up on Yelp. It sounded like the perfect option, so we fired up the website and made an order. I appreciated the fact that you can order for a specific time, as we were going to be driving for a bit before getting there and we wanted the food to be fresh. We ordered three sandwiches: the much-reviewed crispy chicken, the sweet potato red pepper, and the Calabrian turkey, Since there were different side options, we got one of each: chips, fries, and mixed greens. We made our way to the restaurant and were very fortunate to find parking right in front. Though locals may know the secrets of parking here, we probably would have just cruised the main road to find a parking spot for a while if we hadn't been so lucky, as I imagine it fills right up during busy times. But with a brisk takeaway business, you might also get lucky and get a quick parking spot. There was still a small wait despite the pre-order, but once the order was ready, we drove a few blocks to our destination and unpacked the sandwiches for a three-way share. On the outset, you have to know that your'e paying premium prices for sandwiches. They're not particularly large, but I can get behind a quality sandwich with quality ingredients, made by people trying to do a conscientious job in this world of supply-truck fast food shops. This was part of the promise of picking Worth; I can get that other stuff anywhere I go, but I wanted to see what the small, independents were up to. The best of the bunch was the turkey sandwich. Great bread, a top notch meat, and just a well put together sandwich with good flavor that works as a sandwich. The sweet potato red pepper had plenty of each of its ingredients, but for me it didn't come together as a sandwich. It was a little hard to keep together, and while the flavor and quality of each ingredient was good, it remained a sum of its parts. Unfortunately, none of us cared for the crispy chicken sandwich at all. It leads me to believe that something may have been wrong that day, so I'm giving some very very very definite benefit of the doubt that we got an atypical sandwich. The amount of positive reviews and the description just don't match my experience, so I'm willing to bet something went awry. It was definitely not crispy, and the chicken had a texture that can only be described as "springy and cartilage-like at the same time" and we really couldn't eat it. The sauce was tasty enough, but we only each tried it and decided it was best to leave it at just that taste. All in all, we were in for just over $38 on three sandwiches. We ate the sides with pleasure and were glad for the opportunity we had to try a handful of different tastes from a locally-owned shop. A quick look at Yelp also tells me that I'll soon hear from Kelsey (hi, Kelsey!) and I just want to say, I have nothing but mad love and respect for what you're doing, and for the attention to detail you're showing. You've earned my benefit of the doubt on this one, so let's just chalk this up to a weird day? I offer my feedback here as one of many voices checking in to help you keep your finger on the pulse of what's going on there. read more

Three words... Crispy. Chicken. Sandwich. How is this witchcraft even made??!!! I don't live anywhere close to Worth, but ever since my husband and I tried this sandwich, we have made the drive strictly for this sandwich at least 3-4 times. The honey sriracha sauce is amazing, not too spicy at all (and I'm a baby about heat), and the chicken is so fresh and perfectly cooked every time. You get to choose between fries and salad for your side and honestly, both are super delicious too! Staff is super friendly and helpful, cute space and retail area, fun seasonal lemonade, honestly I have zero complaints. If you haven't tried this spot, you must! OK so I found this place on yelp and was quick to order from here because it had five stars and a lot of reviews. That in and of itself is impressive. I ordered on their website and drove to pick it up. Parking was easy they have a patio, masks are not required but are OK. Walk inside and there's standing only-waiting for your order. Social distancing is still a thing but I think it was just The people in there not necessarily the business that was enforcing it. Walked up to the counter, the nice girl asked for my order and I advised that I had already paid and ordered online. My food was ready and I grabbed it and left. It wasn't packaged well. I kind of expected it to be in a larger bag and or more securely wrapped. The fries were on top and opened so by the time I had even got into the car they were already cold. The drive home was no more than five minutes. Got in the house and pulled everything out of the bag thankfully the sandwiches were more secure. The small macaroni and cheese was in its own little compartment, there were fork, napkins, ketchup and the oatmeal pie that I had also ordered. I tried the fries, the seasoning... well it's OK. I can't really say it's a lot of flavor. the fries themselves I'm sure if they were hot or even warm they probably would've taste better. The macaroni and cheese, while it is very good, It lacked any real jump out flavor and could use some salt. I don't think that it came from a pan that was baked. It seems like they made their cheese sauce, the Béchamel and then just mixed in the noodles and served it like that. Again if baking macaroni and cheese is not a big deal to you than this would be a good option except for at some salt. I was excited to try half a Reuben and half of a Cuban. They are not the easiest of sandwiches to make and get right. This location proved that exact point. The Cuban itself seemed like nothing more than a meat sandwich with some really strong spicy mustard. I really didn't get any more flavors than that, and there should have been pickles, seasoning, all sorts of things. The Reuben on the other hand was a very good sandwich, I would not call it a Reuben. Ciabatta bread was soft and so good, the meat was very tasty and just melt in your mouth, again the seasoning that you would expect with an a Reuben, did not come through. Overall the Ruben was a good sandwich I just would not call that a Ruben. It was a Friday payday and wanted to try something new. This one is ok. read more

Worth Takeaway is an excellent sandwich shop on Main Street in Mesa. It's primarily a togo spot, however they do have a couple of tables inside and outside. It does get busy, however the line moves quickly. We had crispy and buffalo chicken sandwiches and both were fantastic. I really liked the honey sriracha sauce and house made pickles that came with the crispy chicken. My kids both got chicken nuggets and the servings were huge and came with fries that were slightly over seasoned for them. The bread in particular really brought the sandwich together. I have wanted to try worth takeaway for years now and finally stopped in after my visit to the Mesa bazaar! It's pretty small in here, people were dining outside though and there seemed to be a good amount of space for that. I was deciding between the sweet potato or eggplant sandwich, but decided on the sweet potato one with a side salad! I saw some people dining in got fries and they looked amazing! It was a little busy but they had my sandwich ready without me having to wait too long! Side salad was simple, nothing fancy but yummy and fresh. I heard so much from my Yelp friends and I couldn't wait to try here when I was finally in the area. In fact, it was so good, it will worth the drive just to come here to eat. When I politely declined, he said I could grab a water bottle if I changed my mind, what a cool gesture. The gal working the register was friendly and checked in on us during our meal.
