I've eaten here before and I hopefully will eat here many times in the future. Our server today was Rhonda and she is an Eleven Star Server! She was on top of our food, she had our drinks quick and refilled just as quick. Our side orders were important to her, even the toppings were important. The food was amazing, and we all had to stop ourselves from eating too much! More over Rhonda for me a to-go coffee before I had cashed out at the counter! Very varied menu, great for when you don't know what you feel like before you get there. Everything I've ordered there has been very good. Chef's Salad, chicken salad are very good, and their French Dip is the best I've ever had. The sugar free chocolate pie is a standout if you're watching your sugar. read more

This is supposedly a hot place, and it was one of the worst places we've been too. I guess they make homemade pies here which sounds enticing if you can get past the not homemade meal. First thing I asked is do they have homemade salad dressing and no they do not. That eliminated the salad. My husband got the breakfast and said it was ok, nothing special. It was lunch so I decided to order the fish and chips because she said it was Cod. Yippee. When I got my plate, it looked like it came out of a tv dinner??? What's up with the 2-inch fries? I took a bite of the fish and asked the waitress if it was cooked frozen, and she confirmed it was. Even the tartar sauce was packaged. It was disgusting and I didn't eat it. The older crowd who frequent there, might as well have a TV dinner at home. This is not dining out and if you can't put any heart into something.... Don't put it on the menu. Yuck! read more

Best diner in Ocala hands down! Moved to Ocala in 2006 and friends took me here. It was excellent food, atmosphere, and service! Was our main breakfast/brunch place. Ended up moving in 2008 and came back to Ocala in 2021 and still was amazing. Looking for a restaurant to eat inside & still to communicate in these times, is not an easy task like it used to be. That is not to even to sugar coat it. I stop here with my mother & we were like other kinda person who walks in a new place (nothing out of the ordinary) as we had our experience for the first time. Our server was good as she did her job but I wish to say more but can't; as the life of server (our server) is a fast one as that's how it was with our food. Nonetheless the food was good but it was tasty. Tasty for us to return back here ordering lunch or dinner; maybe both. We couldn't tell who our server just like if our experience had a couple errors, but the only error was just that. Based on Trip Advisor and Yelp we ventured out to this local, family owned place, and we are glad we did. It's a classic diner, a la 1960's; breakfast all day long, several specials (on a Thursday, Pot Roast, Chicken Pot Pie, Pork Loin). you get the idea. Well, my dining companion fell for the Pot Roast...and was it tender! It came with two sides, mashed and green beans were her choice, with gravy of course, and garlic toast I tried a bit healthier option, Roasted Chicken, mixed veggies and a tossed salad, equally tasty, and a huge corn muffin. But, save some space, we were convinced to get the last piece of marble cake and it was to die for, clearly made in house and as fresh as it comes. We will be back, that's for sure! read more

Wolfys has been an institution in Ocala for many years...... They are not open on Sundays (just a warning) and they are only open until 8pm on other days of week......I think it's 8am-8pm.... They are like a diner, but without the diner car look. They have old booths, and an extensive menu. My fave things here was brunch. Once i got a burger, when i was craving a homemade/hand formed patty. That wasn't what I got unfortunately, it was just so so, and i could tell it was either previously frozen, or at least was formed somewhere else...it had that 'industrial ' look to it. Breffie was good, like an omelet, or their pancakes were good too. Order their hash browns , and order them crispy. The home fries are forgettable. read more

As a visitor to Ocala, this was my first visit. As we were seated, I had a immediate positive reaction to the restaurant. All the staff seemed very upbeat, very friendly and definitely made an effort to to promptly take our order. The restaurant seemed very clean and functioned in an orderly manner. Checks were paid at a front cash register. We ordered a Crunchy French Toast that was excellent and enough to fill up a normal appetite. Our other order was your typical eggs, home fries, toast and a side of Kielbasa. The food was hot, good flavor and served promptly. Our server exceptionally friendly, lots of smiles and checked on our table several times. We asked for a "To Go" box. Our server came over and transferred left over food from both our plates and we didn't have to do a thing. My quick impression that this was a well managed restaurant, excellent staff, kept very clean and makes sure the customer is satisfied when they leave. This place is clean! When the waiting staff is not serving, they are cleaning! Yay! Cleanliness extends to the bathroom. This is a mom & pop diner with all-American cuisine. I ordered the chicken parmigiana special. LOL. I opted for corn muffin instead of garlic toast and I don't regret it! The muffin was warm, soft, delicious. The spaghetti was al dente. The chicken was seasoned, somewhat crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It was a perfect parmigiana for my taste, which is not very discriminating. LOL I Would recommend this diner to anyone. If I'm ever in this area of Marion county, I'm eating at Wolfy's again! PS. The corn muffins were so good, I ordered two to go. Oh yea! read more

This is my standby restaurant. I eat here at least once a week. The food is always good and the staff is excellent. Typical dinner/home cooking breakfast through supper. Bacon and eggs, hamburgers, roasted chicken, prime rib and corned beef and cabbage on the 17th of each month. The desserts are mostly home made by Wendy (the German chocolate cake is out of this world). The worst meal I've had here was pretty good! Be aware that parking is limited and us locals will have most of the spots. read more

I found this restaurant by asking the flat glass bottom boat operator at Silversprings aware there was a local family owned place to eat. It is absolutely an East Coast style, home cooking, family diner. Absolutely love it. I have my four-year-old daughter with me and she absolutely loves it as well. Our waitress slapped our check down before we even ate any of our food and never came back to even check on us. We asked for more coffee which she never got. We took our check up to the register and another waitress said "why are they up here to pay?" I turned and told her that our waitress never came back and I did. It appreciate her attitude. I love Wolfy's. Wolfy's is the kind of homegrown diner I wish all cities had. You can get great food for next to nothing while the waitress calls you "Sweety" and asks you if you want the usual. I've been going to this diner for years now getting the Early Riser which gets you two pancakes, eggs, bacon and a cup of Joe for $3.95. The best part about this place is you get to see generations of people just living their lives on a Wednesday morning. You have some old timers with their crosswords, a group of high school kids skipping their first period class and a dad with his little girl who's sipping on a glass of sweet tea that's larger than her head. Visitors and Ocala-born alike can appreciate the quality of food and the ambience of Wolfy's. It will always be one of my favorite places and no matter where I am in the world, I always think about getting my breakfast on at Wolfy's. read more

Everyone kept telling us that you're not a true Ocalaian until you've dined at Wolfy's. Someone also said Wolfy's is bar far better than Richard's Place. I have to say as a self-professed Foodie/mom-pop restaurant lover, I rate it much lower than Richard's Place. The hostess, Elizabeth, was the first face we saw and she could use a smile or at least greet us with a good morning. Terrible first impression of the restaurant. Our server was excellent but the food was subpar. Everything came out promptly but seemed underseasoned and not crisp (hashbrowns, home fries, corn beef hash, and even bacon). The biscuits at Richard's Place had more of a buttery homemade taste. I would like to rechallenge this place for lunch but rate its breakfast to not be worth having all day. read more
