We weren't sure of their hours and showed up 20 minutes before closing. We were going to leave but they insisted and welcomed us in. Both of us ordered a burger. Standard grocery store brand bun. Patty was cooked well but lacked seasoning. Condiments were fresh, though. They serve steak fries, which is probably my least favorite, but that's a personal preference. Following an early Sunday church service, my wife and I continued with our search and evaluation of breakfast places. This time, we decided on Mama B's. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly. We perused the menu and after my wife ordered coffee, she ordered the 2 scrambled eggs with sausage links which came with hash browns and biscuit. I ordered the 2 scrambled eggs with country fried steak which came with house potatoes and wheat toast. One of the things we noticed immediately was the friendly, family atmosphere. It's like they have quite a few regulars who the servers were familiar with. That's a good sign. Good ambience...but we thought the food was just OK. My wife liked the sausage links, well seasoned and delicious. The hash browns and biscuit, however, were misses. The hash browns, although had good flavors, were hard on the bottom and were way too crisped up. The biscuit was hard and dry and tasted like a day old biscuit. My meal was just OK as well. The home fries looked well seasoned but lacked the slight char and flavor I prefer with seasoned potatoes. The country fried steak was nice and tender but not a fan of the gravy...and the meat may have been ground beef instead of a pounded/tenderized piece of steak. All in all, we loved the friendly, homey feel of this place but we thought food execution was better elsewhere. Went with a friend after an appointment, and think it's my last time there! Service is friendly, food ok, but the nickel diming is so ridiculous. I understand the restaurants are looking to deal with the economy, and using every idea they can come up with. I appreciate the fact this restaurant in no uncertain terms, shows the cash price and the credit card price, but the up charges are a bit off the mark. I wanted a simple hotdog, $6.99, asked what toppings, ketchup and mustard I was told, asked about onions ... $1.00, but she could find some relish. Well she brought a third of a jar which had to cost more than a third of an onion! Drinks are about $4, at top price in Publix that's a big mark up. Ok so does ll of that deserve a lousy rating.... Half way thru lunch, 2 women came in with a dog on a leash. They were seated across from us so in my direct few. Other than constantly playing with the dog, having it on her lap, she put a plate of her food down for the dog to eat! I love dogs, but this is totally unsanitary! Hamburger was great. LOVED the Onion Rings!!! Got there about 15 minutes before closing time; staff was super nice and didn't make me feel rushed or like I was in the way of closing up. Other customers were real nice too! Definitely will be back. Only negative is they close at 2. Which means I can't get dinner there! Haha read more

Mama Bs is one of my favorite breakfast places. The staff is wonderful and very friendly. The service is great and the food comes to the table hot. I like the eggs, omelets, and pancakes. They also have reasonably priced specials It's kind of an older family style restaurant decor, but I love it. Mama is there often and the whole staff will treat you right! read more

Stopped in on my way to Disney, after a stressful day of travel and bad hotel stay we decided to try it out. I ordered a bacon cheese burger with a fried egg, the burger was so good it brought a tear to my eye and the service was amazing. Mel was wonderful and the ambiance made me wish i was a local so i could be a regular here. I plan on stopping by again when i travel back thru and every time I'm in the area. read more

I went here because I was going to Lowes and it was a place to stop for breakfast without adding time. Glad I did. Sign says cash only, but their prices are so affordable you dont mind paying cash. They had quiche on their special board, and they had a buffet. I think the buffet is only open on weekends. Good food, quick service I would go back. read more

We have lived in Ocala for over a year and have never tried this place. We were pleasantly surprised. The dining room is larger than it seems from the outside. We were seated right away and set upon the breakfast and lunch menus. We went with breakfast and had everything from eggs Benedict to eggs and toast to chocolate chip pancakes. All were delicious! Was our first time there and used Yelp to find a place on that side of Ocala. The breakfast was very good. My husband had the country fried steak with hash browns , scrambled eggs and toast while I had the Big Boy sandwich with grits. The service was wonderful and didn't have to wait long. They stayed busy from the time we were eating to the time we left. A very cute little place to eat at. We've driven by this place I don't know how many times in the 2 years we've been done here and just found this treasure. We will definitely keep this place in mind when we're on that side of town. read more

I wouldn't waste your time. Greeted as soon as we walked in but then there was a heated discussion between the servers at the host stand about who's turn it was to wait on us. We were sat at a table and then waited over 5 mins for our server to ask us if we had been helped. She obviously knew we hadn't. We ordered the eggs and bacon plate with hash browns and the country fried steak and eggs with home fries. I knew the country fried steak would be frozen but it was probably the worst one I have ever eaten. The eggs seemed mushy and the home fries were under cooked and tasteless. Friendly staff and delicious food make this as nice as my mama's kitchen. The only difference is I'm not being corrected on my etiquette unless my spouse is with me. Prices are easy on my wallet as well. Plates are filled sufficiently with well prepared vittles. Servers are attentive and helpful with questions. Plenty of tables and booths. Everything appears well cleaned much like my mom's house. Since it's nearby my residence I am planning to be a frequent visitor now that I've experienced this charming place. read more

Took away the blt salad and raised prices, I had a 5 star review before, but based on menu and prices it is not worth stopping anymore. If you are doing low carb meals don't stop here, you have to pay for the fries etc that you don't eat. They don't care and will most likely lose a lot of customers, which is a shame. We tried Mama B's this morning for breakfast and all I can say is, WOW! Our standard for a good breakfast place is the biscuits and gravy - if that's not up to snuff, we generally do not return; Mama B's is on our return list. Holy smokes, the full-size biscuits and gravy is ginormous and so delicious! It's hard to find a restaurant that makes everything from scratch but Mama B's fills the bill. Wait staff is super friendly without being overbearing, the restaurant is very clean and spacious, and the prices are reasonable. If you want really good food in a clean rest with a minimum of wait time, you have to try Mama B's. read more

Had a a rottenhamburger a sour glass of tea pasta salad was so old that it was crispy spent the next day in the hospital so if anybody thinks they should be eating in a crapper like that you get what you got and the service sucks and the place is so dirty read more

I had eggs Benedict and the English muffin was burned around the edges, the ham was so thin you had to search for it.... My boyfriend and I popped in right before they closed at 2:00 PM. It's a cute diner, what really drew our attention was the banner outside that states "best burgers in town" so we had to give it a try. This was my cheat meal for the week and it was sooo worth! Absolutely LOVED their French Fries and the burger was juicy and left me wanting to take a nap right after. They also have a raffle going and the winner gets a free drink with their next meal. It's the little things and I definitely appreciate the effort. Would totally go back to try their breakfast items! read more
