Continuing on with our effort to try out as many breakfast joints after early church service, my wife and I found ourselves in The Brunch House this Sunday morning. We had an early service and we were at The Brunch House before 9:30 AM and this place was doing brisk business...a good sign. We sat down, were presented menus, and my wife ordered coffee while we decided what to order for breakfast. My wife chose the 2 Eggs and a Biscuit with hash browns ($11.99) and I decided to try out their Eggs Benedict with house potatoes ($13.99). The half order of biscuits that came with my wife's meal was quite generous...more like a full order. So much so that she took home the eggs and hash browns for a later meal. She liked the fresh biscuits smothered in a savory, peppery gravy. The only thing she would improve on is perhaps adding some sausage meat in the gravy and it would be perfect. The eggs Benedict were well executed. Perfectly poached eggs atop a smoky and thick slice of Canadian bacon and English muffin, all swimming in a creamy hollandaise sauce. The only thing that would've made this better would be a thicker, more substantial English muffin. All in all, we liked our breakfast meal and will likely return. The food is excellent. I had a simple cheeseburger and fries- the best fries I have had anywhere. Likewise the hamburger was cooked perfectly with a wonderful fresh bun. Two weeks ago my friend & I went out for brunch. We were pleasantly surprised to see the breakfast & lunch options were all available. Loved this place! We were greeted warmly and promptly seated. This place has a relaxing vibe to it. Tables are spaced nicely and not on top of each other. We stopped in on 8/27 after the animal shelters pack walk at Silver Springs. I had read comments on the Ocala Word of Mouth fb page and since we were in that area decided to try the place out. When we first arrived not to many people were there but by the time we were leaving they were getting busy. My husband ordered the ranch hand bowl with sausage and instead of grits (he's not a grits person) he had an extra biscuit. I ordered the #3 with bacon. We both enjoyed our breakfast. The biscuits were delicious. I'm not big on biscuits but very glad I decided on a biscuit instead of toast. Our waitress was Crystal and she was great. We never had to ask for refills even with my water I asked for. The restaurant inside was a farmhouse setting, very cute. I hope you will try this place out and we definitely will be back again. We traveled 45 minutes from the Villages in Florida as we were told this restaurant was worth it. How true it is! The people were very friendly but the food was the best part. It was all made from scratch. Even the hash browns were shredded fresh. The omelets were excellent as were the biscuits. It took a little longer for the food to come out (cooked by the owners) but that's because it was all fresh...none of it was frozen. Kudos to the owners. We had no idea there was still a restaurant like this. We will definitely be visiting again soon. read more

This is a cute little restaurant in a shopping center. They have really good service. The food is good, but nothing really stands out. The portions are not as big as some other places, but the prices are ok for what you're getting. An overlooked GEM of a Breakfast place! More Oatmeal at $1.50 less than I pay at Starbucks... a nice change, but w/o the packet of fruit, which I enjoy a bunch. Decided on the Greek Omelet... soooooo stoked I did! The chef is not stingy with the Feta or Spinach, and with Kalamata Olives, fresh cut melons & geapes, plus a biscuit on the side... exceptional!! 6 booths in this breakfast section, 8 quad seat tables, 2 TVs, mellow music playing in the background. Ample parking and bike spaces. Other biz within this strip mall... I'm trying the Nail Salon next. Harley is really sweet, friendly... attentive to those eating here, and helpful to those ordering &/or picking up Togo orders. This diner doesn't look like much from the outside - sitting on the end of an L-shaped strip mall with a nondescript brick facade. When you walk in, however, you are warmly greeted by a white-trimmed old-home farm-style decor that is extremely inviting. The staff is equally warm and friendly, making you feel like friend or family as you enter, even when it's your first time. We were given menus and directed to $4.99 specials on the table tent (really good value specials). The food came out quickly, too! Quality of the meal was ok. My wife ordered over-medium eggs, which came over-easy. She asked for crispy hash browns that weren't all that crispy. My pancakes tasted like they were made from a mix, albeit a good mix. Under new ownership, this restaurant is a simple southern diner with a menu that has anything you're craving. The chicken tenders were hot and crispy, with the best sweet potato fries I've ever had. My dad got the Philly Cheesesteak and said it was delicious. The sweet tea is strong and sweet, just how I love it. The staff was very accommodating and attentive, and the food came out so fast.
