Don't follow the directions on Yelp--this restaurant is located at the end of the strip mall, not in the middle. The dining room is large and open with plenty of seating, including both tables and booths. Service was a little slow, but with only two servers working, it was understandable. They serve Coke products, which is always a plus for me. I appreciated being able to order the turkey club without any sides since I don't eat large portions. If you're hungry, the sandwiches normally come with two sides. I also ordered the French toast ($7.56) with no extras. It comes topped with powdered sugar, but I opted out. It was served on a small plate with no room for anything else. The French toast was made with standard bread and egg batter--nothing fancy, but it was prepared well and tasted good. The turkey club was substantial and satisfying. I would have preferred it cut into quarters like a traditional club sandwich, and the ingredients should have extended closer to the edges of the bread rather than being centered. It also could have used a bit more turkey. That said, the sandwich was juicy, flavorful, and tasted exactly like a turkey club should. Maybe we got lucky this morning as the wait for our breakfast and pancakes were pretty quick as compared to what others have noted. Considering the place was pretty busy at 9am on a Sunday. We were told that there was usually a 15-20 minute wait with how they make the pancakes, but we were not in a rush anyway, and really needed coffee first to wake up after rushing due to an emergency phone call at 5am to get to the rehab center where my mom is at close by. Our food arrived in about 10 minutes, Oh, and these are not your granddad's pancakes. These are pancakes on steroids! Delicious and fresh these monsters are huge and more than enough to fill your belly. They have an all you can eat option too! That's nuts! I was ready to be rolled out of the place after my one serving. Our server was terrific, friendly, funny, and attentive. Filled our coffees a few times, brought us ice water, and made our morning a bit more cheerful under the circumstances. Our meals were prepared just right, but those pancakes are the stars here. We ordered the 2-2-2 combo - 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 strips of bacon or sausage, $15, and worth it. As the owners had more of a farm stand and eatery before moving to this spot they have kept that cozy and quaint vibe with the decor and assorted items and jellies for sale in racks by the entrance. This is an off the beat location at the end of a strip mall with an unusual decor and layout. The staff were super friendly and the food was great and the place was packed with folks waiting at the door. This was our 2nd visit. This time we brought friends. We enjoyed our time so much we will make this a regular thing on our way to Gator games. This is a clean spacious restaurant. Our server was friendly, attentive and a bit humorous. Our food was very tasty. We had chicken salad, Philly cheese steak, cinnamon roll pancake and omelette. Omelette had plenty of veggies inside and out. Sandwiches were excellent. Their broccoli apples salad is a must for sides My only complaint is our food took quite a while to come out. THIS is the breakfast place we have been looking for! As soon as we walked into this pleasant and comfortable cafe we were greeted by multiple staff and told to sit anywhere we would like. The restaurant was clean with nicely spaced tables and booths. The menu has a great variety of breakfast sweets, eggs, bowls, and meats and a lunch menu that has just as many options! It is SO hard to choose what to order! We WILL be going back soon! I had the Strawberry Cream Cheese pancake with a side of bacon and my husband had the 2 eggs, 2 bacon, and 2 French Toast. It's nice that Todd and Shelly's started opening up at 7:00 a.m. during the week days. I went there early and got a early bird breakfast. I don't like to eat a lot of breads so I substitute tomatoes and top my eggs with a little gravy. Waited about 14 to 18 minutes because they make it fresh. It was nice and quiet and relaxing in the restaurant. I was blessed that Shelly waited on me. Such a nice change of pace to sit back and relax after a hectic morning. read more

The food here is solid. The big fluffy hotcakes are a must. I got the BLT with a couple eggs on it which was HUGE. Fresh tomatoes and veggies. The bacon could've been cooked longer (I'm partial to crispy bacon on my BLTs). I still give the food 4-4.5 stars. We will come back as there are other menu items I want to try. Only thing I would caution folks on is that they make their food from scratch so they even have a note on each table to let patrons know that during busy times, it could take an hour to get your food. We came at 10am on a Saturday morning during peak time. The hostess said to please be patient and the server will come soon. Took about 10-15mins for server to come by which was no biggie. Server was great and helped us figure out what to get. Food came out about 30-35mins later. All in all, a good experience. Filling food with other menu items we want to try and the restaurant itself seems like they're still trying to get into their groove, but they do a good job even so. This was hands down the best gyro and Greek salad ever! The meat was so tasty and tender and the pita bread was grilled to perfection. The tomatoes and lettuce were fresh and the tzatziki was perfect. It added so much flavor but didn't overwhelm the sandwich. Went on a Saturday about 10:15, waited 15 minutes for a table which was to be expected. Restaurant seemed clean and had a relaxed atmosphere. Asked waitress for coffee, it never came. Asked another server and she brought it over. Food took 50 minutes to arrive. All food was cold and we had to remind waitress for our sides, which came about 3/4 way through the meal, just in time to box them to take home. When I checked out and told cashier how long we waited for our food I was told that there were so many door dash orders the diners order got pushed back. So basically, the ones that make the effort to drive there to sit and eat and provide income (tips) to waitstaff get punished so door dash can pick up. If you are that busy, hire dedicated cooks for online orders. Heard great things about this place, maybe we caught them on am off day. read more

I visited the area for work and decided to stop for an early lunch. I got the hot cakes, eggs, and a meat combo, and I added an order of buttered toast. The food was really good, and I loved the hot cakes! My server was very sweet and friendly, but service was kind of slow. They only had 2 servers for over 10 occupied tables and, as far as I could tell, they were responsible for everything (i.e., taking orders, running the food and drinks, and bussing the tables). I ordered The green tomato BLT with soft beacon, french fries and coleslaw. Be prepared this is a triple decker BLT! Everything was prepared perfectly, beacon soft and full of flavors, french fries crunchy on the outside and perfectly cooked. Desert was banana pudding. Let me explain it's the little details that count. Your desert is made to order the vanilla wafers are set in your bowl, fresh cut bananas pudding and whipped cream. So you get crunchy not soft squishy cookies! Who goes to this effort. I definitely will be coming back when I'm back in Ocala! The breakfast / lunch menus are varied and quite appealing - plus the kitchen is super accommodating so you're very likely to get what and how you like it. This week my daughter took me here for my first time. She has been here many times with her friends and always enjoyed her food. First off it is absolutely adorable inside! You feel the love as soon as you walk in. It is eclectic and comfy with multiple unique seating areas. One reason I recommend this place is because they serve breakfast and lunch all day no matter the time. Plus all the food is fresh and made to order. The staff is super friendly and sweet. My daughter had the chocolate chip banana hotcake which I tasted. It is huge so order one at a time, and it was yummy!! I had a fried green tomato BLT. I didn't realize it was a double decker so I definitely wasn't able to finish it even though it was tasty. It came with your choice of 2 sides. I chose watermelon and broccoli apple salad. Had I known the salad was going to be so AMAZING I would have gotten it for both of my sides. It was broccoli, diced apple, cranberries, shredded carrots and I think pecans in a yogurt kind of blend. Absolutely loved it! A quaint and charismatic hole in the wall type of place with wonderful service and delicious, made from scratch food. We really loved their sandwiches and sides, unique and large variety of offerings. The best things we ate were the club sandwich, broccoli apple salad, and hot pastrami sandwich, all fantastic. Recommend not wasting your time on the fried green tomatoes or fries - fairly bland and basic. Overall, we kept commenting how we want to go out of our way to come back. PANCAKES THE SIZE OF BIRTHDAY CAKES UNTIL... I overheard the server tell the table behind us there was an hour wait. Wait? She didn't tell us that and we sat after them. Meanwhile we'd ordered $20 worth of "cocktails". The Malibu sunrise and the espresso martini, or nothing but colored sweet water drinks. DO NOT under any circumstances order any cocktails from this place. They do not tell you that they are wine based, which is not a cocktail (but that's another story). The fact that she told the table behind us there was an hour wait (not 90 seconds after we were sat) is troublesome. I was so looking forward to the pancakes, or hot cakes as they call them. The only thing I can think of is they cook them in small cake pans...i digress... Improve by 1) telling your customers in advance (before you seat them) that there's an hour wait, 2) telling your customers that your alleged cocktails are made with wine not actual liquor, 3) owning it!! When a table asks to leave because the wait has already been an hour don't charge them for the drinks that they didn't drink. I wish I could get this place a five star review. I read other reviews, I've seen the pictures, my mouth was watering before even got there. But, this is best example of a place that just does not live up to its hot cakes. read more
