Was excited to visit the new version of this restaurant. I ordered a cheesesteak sandwich which came with fries and a soda. Food, tax, and tip came to $23.00. Now, I do not mind paying a higher price for a sandwich if it is chock full of ingredients and delicious. The meat was tender and delicious and the fries were some of the best I have ever eaten. However, the amount of meat on my sandwich was meager. I mean MEAGER. The service was excellent. But don't think I will return. Unfortunate since the food was tasty but the price was too high for a mostly bread sandwich. read more

My wife and I were eagerly awaiting the opening of the New Wolfy's after a lengthy closure and renovation following a change in ownership. Now owned by the proprietors of Scrambles, we're glad they kept the iconic name even if there's a new menu. We drove in and parked in the back where there are stairs leading you to a back entrance. We were immediately seated in a booth along Silver Springs Blvd./Hwy 40 and noticed how good the sound insulation was. The place looked clean and new, and our server, who worked for the original Wolfy's for 14 years, acknowledged that the place needed some refurbishing. After looking at the menu, my wife ordered the Southwest Avocado omelet with hash browns ($13.39) (they didn't have grilled potatoes because they were closed for the 4th of July our server informed us) and I tried their Eggs Benedict Arnold with hash browns ($13.29). My wife also ordered coffee. My wife loved her omelet commenting how fluffy the eggs were and how flavorful the sausage, fire roasted corn and black beans were. She also liked the fresh lime cream and avocado slices topping the omelet. The hash browns were meh. My eggs Benedict were good. While the hollandaise sauce tasted good, it didn't look as creamy as the better sauces I've had. The hash browns were not hot and didn't seem freshly prepared...it was our least favorite part of our breakfast. All in all, a good dining experience, although we'll avoid the disappointing hash browns the next time we visit. Breakfast for 2, with tip, came out to just over $37. read more

The new Wolfy's looks very clean and the food was fine. The breakfast menu consists of all the usual foods. You can get omelettes, French toast, eggs Benedict, etc. I hope in the future they will have some other more creative options. A bowl of some sort or a variety of specials. While visiting Ocala, my gf and I decided to explore the more old school restaurant businesses in the area. We were thinking diner or long standing business, so we ended up choosing Wolfy's. Approaching the building immediately sets you up in a nostalgic vibe. Growing up in Florida, these type buildings were the norm. Inside, the decoration did not disappoint. We were back in the 50's, the late 70's, and even the 2000's. We were not looking for a movie set to film anything, we're not filmmakers or anything like that, we're just odd. I ordered the soup du jour (famous chicken noodle) and settled for burgers. I had tried to order different things, but they were not available, which to me is a sign of a dying kitchen. A restaurant with limited options? Hmmm... Because of the constant "It's not available" from the kitchen, I got some free onion rings, but this delay made me so hungry that by the time I got my burger, I forgot to snap a pic. All I can say is that it was nicely charred but mushy. We paid at the front and picked up a homemade cake (sorry no pic). We had to ask for a bigger portion because the slice was very skimpy. this is a definite no with our party. The place is certainly much cleaner and much more open, but the bit pricier food is not that good. After ordering a "dinner" during lunch, it was about 10 minutes later (when most in our group had gotten their food) the server said we don't serve dinner during lunch....not until after 4 pm. Hmm. didn't see that on the menu, nor did the server say that when ordering. opted for the "not much chicken" wrap. that was sad and bad. I'm sure many customers will love this place, so they don't need our business anymore. read more

The new look was nice. The restaurant was very clean. Staff was friendly. But to go there at 1 pm and being told that a big part of the menu is not served till 4 pm. And then paying premium prices for subpar food. I had the Haddock fish sandwich since you can not order a " fish and chips" until 4 with tater tots. Which all came out cold. And way over cooked. Definitely not worth $ 3.00 let alone almost $14.00 the wife had a cheese burger, fries and a side salad. She said burger was good just not warm. The salad I would have been ashamed to send out. The ranch dressing was watered down so much it wouldn't even stick to the lettuce. We eat here right before the old owner passed. And let met tell you it was night and day. This experience was bad enough we will definitely not return. But I will suggest you give them a chance. Maybe it was an '" off " day for all involved. Let yourself be the judge. Wolfy's has been a favorite breakfast place of my husband's family for decades, and we ate their with them for the first time this weekend. It was pretty busy, but the service was quick and accurate. The restaurant was clean and well-staffed. Our waitress was friendly and fast. There is plenty of parking behind the restaurant. We met the new owner while we were there and she was nice. The restaurant has breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I heard that they also have a Prime rib special on Friday. I started out with hot chocolate that was topped with crispy marshmallows and whipped cream. It was delicious! I ordered two scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, toast, and corned beef hash. My husband got the same, but with bacon and sunny side up eggs. The bacon and corned beef hash were both perfectly crisp. We really enjoyed our meal and would definitely eat here again. We met family here yesterday for lunch/brunch. The staff is amazing, friendly, attentive and quick. That's about where the praise stops. I ordered breakfast (served all day), my husband ordered the sloppy Joe special. My scrambled eggs were overcooked and tasted like they were cooked in old, reused oil. The grits were good, toast slightly burnt (I ordered extra light). I only ate a few bites of the entire meal because it tasted so bad. My husbands sloppy joes were average, tasted like the sloppy joes from a can. Home fries were average but edible. The beer selection was EXTREMMELY limited (only 2 to choose from) and the same with the wine selection. The good news is the place is fairly inexpensive, so that's a plus. To be fair we may try Wolf's again. read more

Wolfys in Leesburg serves home made dishes. Last time I was there it was hot and uncomfortable in the restaurant.

8 of us went for breakfast yesterday, we were seated right away, greeted several time and drink orders taken. While taking the drink orders, as we had indicated separate checks, the server wrote our names on individual checks, boy did that save confusion and mistakes with billing. There was no rush and when we were ready food orders taken and drinks refilled. I don't know how many work in the kitchen but there was no long wait for breakfast and instead of the one server having to make several trips, the plates were brought out by others assisting our server. Things were served hot and fresh! I had simple eggs over easy and they were, hash browns and toast. All good. When I'm in that area of Ocala I'll return! read more

Really wanted to try this place for breakfast but after standing at the wait to be seated sign for the duration of two phoned in orders I gave up. The checkout line for the cashier was 4-5 long and nobody acknowledged me the entire time. We stopped here on our way to the Paddock Mall in Ocala from Silver Springs. We are always looking for a new breakfast spot and having trouble finding one that serves past 11 am. Wolfy's is a home town diner. Not much atmosphere but the service, food and prices were good. We had ample parking in the back lot. I ordered coffee, 2 poached eggs, ham and grits. For .50 more I upgraded my bread to a corn muffin (split and grilled with butter) which was the best part of my meal. I'm sure it was baked on the premises. The coffee was great which is a must for my breakfast places, and the meal tasted good but I will return and try some of their other baked goods and pies. If the corn muffin was this good, the coconut cream pie will not disappoint :-) read more

Stopped in this morning for breakfast. Seated quickly after entering and friendly staff were quick to take drink orders followed by food order shortly after. My omelet with feta cheese, tomato & spinach was excellent, I found the serving of hashbrowns to be a bit skimpy but adequate, the biscuit was wonderful so light, fluffy & warm. This establishment has been under new ownership and the coffee and breakfast my friend and I had was atrocious. There weren't many people dining here and the place smelled dingy when we entered and the atmosphere was dark. Starting with the coffee - it was sooo weak even my friend who likes weaker coffee couldn't drink it. We asked the server about it and she replied defensively 3 times, "our coffee is very weak." My friend was intent on getting pancakes which turned out tasteless. There was no fruit on the menu that could be added to the batter like blueberries & such. My single egg, hash browns and toast order was dripping in grease. For decades this place used to be a thriving restaurant and it's such a shame the new owner doesn't give a darn. If it's breakfast time and you happened to find yourself in Ocala Wolfy's may be a place you want to try if you can find a parking space. It seems every local for miles around comes to Wolfy's for breakfast on the weekend. We got lucky I guess we found a car pulling out when we were pulling in and took the spot they left open I think the same could be said inside, the restaurant seemed to be filled to capacity and yet we were able to get seated immediately at the last open table in the house. This place was dizzying busy but we got our coffee quick and placed our breakfast within minutes of being seated. This place really knows how to turn tables, our breakfast was out in a flash and except for the lumpy grits I'd say everything was pretty good - not being a regular presents a learning curve I was told afterward if I wanted "real butter" instead of the processed spread on the table all I had to do was ask. I would of loved to have known that when placing my order but it's no deal breaker I'll be back I'm sure.
