Our first time visiting this Saturday Morning Market in Downtown Ocala and what a great experience…read moreit was, some of that I attribute to the mild temperatures here in late September and much more than that is it's a very well organized event with some spectacular vendors. Although the pavilion is dedicated to a number of farm to table vendors there's so much more surrounding it - it's also equally amazing how much free parking there is in very close proximity to the market so although I recommend wearing comfortable shoes you won't be setting any step records if you track those things. I specifically came here to see if I could fine some fresh vine ripened homegrown tomatoes, a few vendors had the most beautiful juicy tomatoes from Tennessee and after slicing a few I knew I scored big and being they were very reasonably priced I loaded up which means most of my meals in the next few days will include chilled sliced tomatoes which I'm fine with. We also found some beautiful jalapeño peppers and delicious cucumbers if I lived local this is where I'd buy all my vegetables. We were here about an hour just checking things out but long enough to grab a large freshly squeezed lemonade which was outstanding, not cheap but delicious and refreshing . This place really exceeded my expectation and one that I plan to return to when in the area...

There were food trucks, tables with fresh baked goods, crafts, jewelry, pottery, plants, candy, pickles, flowers, plants and people selling miscellaneous items. I love walking around, checking out the booths, and finding new local treasures. One of my absolute musts now is a matcha drink from Honey Nitro + Cold Brew. I had never tried matcha before, but a friend recommended their version with vanilla or lavender, and oh my gosh, it was creamy, smooth, and totally addictive. I seriously didn't know I could love matcha this much! Pappa Thai's summer rolls are another go-to. They're fresh, flavorful, and honestly hit the spot every single time. Light but filling and perfect for walking around with. And I can't forget Proud Pickles, they're such a fun little stand, and I'm absolutely obsessed with their items. Sweet, tangy, spicy, you name it, they've got it. I'm giving 4 stars only because I wish there were a few more vendors but I understand Gainesville is a small town. But honestly, it's still such a lovely experience and totally worth checking out if you're in the area.

The parking is pretty easy and it seemed like there were plenty of spots, and all of the vendors I interacted with were very kind and friendly. I got a sesame bagel from BagelCorp (forgot to get a pic!) and a cherry chocolate chip scone from Voltaire, and both were pretty yummy and not too expensive. I'll definitely be back!

One of our favorite farmers markets…read more We first came here by accident a year or so ago. We were on our way to family in Ocala early in the morn when i knew it was time to stop for some coffee(the wife doesnt do wel without her java). I did a quick search for a spot, and saw a dunkin nearby. I exited the highway and headed that way. as I got closer I grinned. I had never been to the Villages. My gal didn't know what that was so as we pulled up and parked she said, "what town is this". I just played dumb. We walked into the Brownwood square and I had to tell her. She really didn't know much about the Villages so I filled her in. for my first impression it was great. The farmers market wrapped around the square and trickled out to the side streets some as well. They had the usual thing you would hope for like produce and pieces of art made by locals. But it had other things you dotn see often like some more quirky artisans, multiple flower and plant booths, empanadas, and the one that hooked me, a both that had all kind of mushrooms to eat. We swing by here about once a month for the farmers market, and enjoy it every time.

Parking was easy, free, and conveniently located to all the festivities which is a huge plus. This is also one of the few local markets where I've actually seen a large selection of fresh produce and and farm goods available. It was refreshing to see so many people bring their market bags on wheels, wagons, etc. ready to purchase fresh fruits & veggies and support our local farmers. Beautiful watermelons, tomatoes, papaya, lettuces, corn, peppers, zucchini, and more. There's a good mix of vendors ranging from jewelry and handcrafted goods to food trucks and specialty food items. We got mango coladas, mango flower with tajin, breakfast tacos, and of course, kettle corn. Huge plus that there is the downtown splash pad for all the kids to play right in the middle of all the action. It was a HOT one and this was a great way for my little guy to cool off and burn some energy while we sat and enjoyed our food. If you have kids, I highly suggest they wear their swimsuits and bring some towels to dry off.
