The staff are so friendly and happy to help with questions. The shop is small but packed full of delicious, high quality meat at a very reasonable price point. Yum!! I have to give a special shout out to the bacon choices...I can't wait to try them all but tasted the Peppered Bacon & Pecan Wood Smoked and I've never had bacon this delicious! The Pecan Wood is so unique- never seen it before now and I'm not sure why as the smoked nutty flavor is exceptional. They also carry a variety of cheeses from a local FL dairy farm- I got the sliced white cheddar and made a steak sandwich with their thin sliced rib eye...WOW it was truly amazing. Before I begin, I should preface this with saying I am 54 years old and have more allergies to food than I can list. Over the past couple of decades, my wife has learned to cook gluten free food and I have come to enjoy it; however, the quality of meat has significantly decreased over the years and now most of us could not identify the ingredients in even the simplest of meals. This has caused a major issue with regards to my ability to eat the meat that comes from Sams, Walmart, or even Publix, as it tastes fake and causes major digestive issues. After considerable research, we decided to take a chance on the Chopping Block. They have excellent reviews, with only a few negatives aside for unreasonable expectations, such as not being from the state (Really?), dye being added, which I can attest there is none, health regulation concerns, which clearly indicates the reviewer has never worked in food service and finally, the prices! Yes, the meat does cost more, but it also tastes as good as what I remember as a child, which in turn has alleviated the issue of my inability to eat the cheap crap from the other stores. When taking into account the costs, you should also consider the overhead of the store, along with the number of workers they have on staff daily, as we have never waited to be assisted and are checked out immediately after your choices have been made. We have altered our weekly meals to accommodate this much needed reprieve, by eating salads in between big meals. Their customer service is excellent, as we have continued to shop there three times over the past month and our first time was made much easier by Parker, who helped us immensely. We have purchased a good number of items to include chicken, pork chops, sausage, stew beef, angus ground beef and ground sausage, but would recommend you start with the Prime Pork Chops. If you decide to stick to your regular fare, just remember; Taco Bell adds sand to their meat, Walmart is listed as the worst meat in the country and most stores add chlorinated water to their products, which is slowly poisoning you and adding an up charging from the water weight. I recommend you stop by and take a look. Finally, they do have a 10% military discount if you provide your ID, which does assist in the sticker shock. Life sucks, your meals don't have to! They've opened in the old Havana House out at the four corners in Lecanto by RaceTrac. Very sweet people. I got a pack of the baby back ribs and had them sliced in long strips to cook Asian style and couldn't resist the corn cob bacon and orange bacon. The ribs were excellent. Service was nice the store was clean. I am waiting on some specialty cuts and some fresh marrow bones but it's nice to have a butcher shop and I wish them the best. good luck !!!!! read more

100% the shop is very clean and with large selection of beautiful meats. They have chicken, a large selection of steaks, pork chops, roasts, ready made meatloaf, hotdogs, sausages, ground beef, venison and ground meat made into patties. They also have fresh eggs, pickles, cheeses, and variety of honey from a local business. That isn't everything in this amazing shop. The gentlemen working there are so friendly and they know their stuff. Staff was wonderful! Variety was excellent. This will be my new go to for home town Butcher shops. They also do special orders. For people that migrated from up north they do scrapple too. It might be a little more expensive but you definitely get your money's worth. They have Amish butter and eggs too. And for those looking for tomahawk steaks, well they have those too as well as Wagyu beef. I highly recommend! read more
