Salisbury steak

Amazing little place in a historic train station. Very cozy and well decorated. Took our Dad out for his birthday lunch. Everybody loved what they ordered. I got the Haddock Fish Fry and it was all good. Haddock was executed as a picture perfect British fish n chips. My son has the Salisbury steak with veggies and mash- so good! Perfect comfort food in a Cool local place A must try !

I decided to spend my Saturday showing Ocala a little love -- and I'm so glad I did, because I stumbled on Depot on Magnolia and it completely blew me away. Tucked inside part of a historic train depot, this place leans all the way in on its railway roots. The decor is packed with railroad memorabilia, hand-painted murals, and even the light fixtures feel themed. And yes -- there's an actual miniature train that circles overhead while you eat. It's quirky in the best way. I ordered one of my go-to comfort picks: a mushroom and Swiss burger. Not only was it cooked to perfection, but it came topped with quarter-cut mushrooms (not the usual thin slices!) and a side of tiny watermelon wedges -- which was such a fun touch. The vibe, the food, the unexpected attention to detail... Depot on Magnolia totally exceeded my expectations. It's a reminder that there are some real gems hiding in plain sight around Ocala -- you just have to stop and explore.

This is a cute location with interesting and unique decor. Our server wasn't friendly & seemed short with us only. The menu is kind of all over the place--the specials are on a photocopied handwritten list in a plastic sleeve. The cheese burger was really big & cooked well--flattop crispy edges and perfectly medium. The lobster wrap was chopped and didn't taste like lobster & side of pasta salad shells were creamy and just ok. They had a long list of desserts that sounded good but we didn't have a sweet tooth. It seemed to take forever to get our check & pay so not a great end to our weird lunch.

We've seen a lot of mentions about Depot on Magnolia in Ocala, so we decided to hit O-town a little early on Saturday night and give it a try. What a cool little place - it's not huge. Train themed (and yes, a train rolled by as we were eating) and quirky, our server, was bubbly and energetic. We ordered the lobster flatbread appetizer and it was SO good! Where to begin? The coconut shrimp was delicious and the hush puppies passed the snobbish test. The Key Lime BBQ Chicken sandwich was tasty with the Lime sauce. And the Conductor Burger? Lordy that was a lot of meat! 1 pound burger with pulled pork, cheese, tomato, lettuce! Don't order that on a date - you're leaving with some on your shirt! Definitely ask for extra napkins. An excellent taste for everything we ordered, except the coleslaw. Vinegar based. Meh. Fries were ever so slightly over cooked, but still good. Because no dinner is complete without dessert, we ordered that, too. Key Lime pie (2) and German chocolate cake! So, so good. Solid 4.5 stars out of five!

All in all the dining area was very cute and if your into trains the aesthetic was awesome! Honestly the service was eh, I made the mistake of ordering the lobster wrap which didn't taste like lobster at all, opened up the wrap and it was imitation crab unfortunately. I'm a New England girl so Lobster Salad is a summer staple for me and I could tell right away it wasn't lobster. Our server never came to check on us or ask if our food came out okay just seemed not to care much about our experience. On the plus side my husband ordered the chicken pot pie and it was good. We were hoping to finish off the meal with a homemade pineapple upside down cake but they were all out so we tried the coconut layer cake and cannoli cheesecake and they were pretty good. We received the bill and thought it was really odd they rounded up our check and took an additional 4 cents to "even out the bill" it was under a "rounding charge"

Found this place on Yelp. First impressions cute and funky decor. This f ormer train depot features a cute model train that rides around the room on a track. Restaurant had only one other table full when we first arrived. We ordered Buffalo chicken salad and truffle fries. I ordered the Veggie flat bread which was very tasty. Bottled domestic beer and wine available. One glass of wine was $10. Food moderately priced. Few veggie options are available but beyond burger can be substituted for a $2 up charge. Restaurant got very busy quickly and our server (an older gentleman) forgot about us so I had to acquire my own to-go box. He also forgot the second beer my husband ordered but brought it to him when we were given the check. At least he comped the beer. Veteran's discounts are offered. Service could have been better but overall good experience.

Awesome restaurant! Great food and great staff. Poor waitress was so overwhelmed and overworked but she was wonderful and did ssuch a great job! The windows seat to the train was a treat too

District Bar and Kitchen - Hot Honey Fried Chicken Sandwich

Stopped by District Bar and Kitchen for a late lunch/early dinner on a beautiful spring day…read more The temperature outside was pleasant and so my dining companion and I opted for lunch on their patio. We were on their bottom floor patio (which was lovely) but I did spy that they have a rooftop patio as well (what's not to love?!?). Everything from the food to the cocktails to the service was exemplary. For my cocktail I got their Old Colonel's Smoking Gun which was their twist on an old fashioned and was delightful. For my entree, I got their salmon entree. It's glazed and comes with a size of their crispy brussels and cheesy grits. The brussels were delish and their cheesy grits rank among some of the best I've had with sharp cheddar giving them the perfect flavor kick. The atmosphere was so pleasant. It's definitely the sort of spot you'll feel tempted to linger. Get to it!

Would definitely get another flavor to try next time. Got the honey chicken sandwich. It was big and flavorful. Not spicy. The fries are yummy. The burger had nothing special on it and tasted like there was no seasoning - only downside. Want to try their grits and fried green tomatoes next time!

Chatter noise was low enough Iwe could reasonably talk together! She started with a french onion soup, steamy and thick, obviously homemade!! I had a lobster bisque with baquettes. She then chose the chicken fried steak with mash potatoes & green beans. I had the braised short ribs Mirepoix, garlic mash potatoes & csteamed carrots with short rib reduction! We topped the night off with a delightful PRINCESS DIANA'S Taste of Ocala award winning Bruleed Bread Pudding w/ fresh berries & Amaretto , Almonds!! Btw, the Chicken fried steak is offered every Sunday. Our server, Joanne, was excellent and very knowledgeable!! The only downside was about 3 items unavailable due to heavy traffic on Valentine's Day on Saturday. The tables were candlelit, clean, and seating was comfortable. I wont mention our coke & tea, we just dont imbibe in alcoholic drinks. But it appeared they had a wide assortment of choices!! I recommend THE BRAISED ONION!!

We got sat right away and greeted by our server. Our server was nice and helpful with the menu. We ordered fish n chips, Hawaiian salad, pow pow chicken, and chicken picatta. The salad came out with fresh ingredients and the dressing was delicious. The rest of the food was not good. The pow pow chicken was mostly breading and no chicken. The few small pieces of chicken we did have were way over cooked. The fish and chips had the same problem - mostly breading and no fish. Also, they don't have tartar sauce. I've never been to a place that sells fish n chips that doesn't have tartar sauce. The dining area is an open concept. There were some plants spread around the place is clean. Over all, the server was nice but the food wasn't very good. I wouldn't recommend eating there. We will try someplace else next time we are in town.

Bank Street is a great place for food, drinks and dancing. Every time my partner and I visit Ocala,…read morewe spend Friday and Saturday nights here. The crowd has folks of all ages and ethnicities. The music is usually dance-friendly hip hop and RnB, and the DJs get people out on the floor. Coming from the Northeast in December, the open air space is a welcome change. I've only had one meal here, and it was great. But the real magic is the crowd of people dancing. The waitstaff and manager are friendly and accommodating. The bartenders are sometimes slammed, so it might take a few minutes to place a drink order. I love this place and would recommend it to anyone who likes to dance to Usher, Mary J and Cardi B.

While inside we found 3 dead bugs on the bar counter and we decided to move outside, where Emily the bartender ruined our night. My wife miss read the closing time and thought the bar closed at 11pm when it actually ended at 10pm. Instead of telling us the bar was closing she began to yell at us, in front of 15 other patrons, to "stop playing cornhole", as we were enjoying the on-site cornhole area. I asked why she was upset and she began to yell about handling a busy night. I requested to speak with a manager and she told me "Suck a dick" while in ear shot of children. Other patrons spoke to me outside the bar and complained about Emily's outburst and Rex recommended more professional bars, like infinite ale, tipsy skipper and the lodge. Even thought I used to attend this bar frequently Emily's poor service and disgusting outburst, on top of the health hazard of dead bugs inside has turned me and my family away from this once decent bar. Please enjoy Ocala for the great place it is and don't let this disgusting establishment affect your perception of my hometown!
