1/2 Poached Pear Salad
Dawn W.

Rolls they brought out were delightful, but I wanted to keep eating them. The Wellington wontons were delicious and cooked nicely, my salad was a huge disappointment because the dressing itself wasn't much in flavor or quantity, not very much of the goat cheese, and the best part of the whole thing was the small poached pear in the middle, and my husband said his salmon was overdone. I do very much regret, not trying their onion soup because I would imagine they would've knocked that out of the park or at least I would hope so.

From the moment we walked in the door, to saying goodbye, this restaurant delivered an amazing experience. The tables had cute Christmas candles and I thought the place was very charming and cozy. We made reservations, but because it was around 2 pm, it wasn't necessary. I had the top shelf margarita and it was excellent. My hubby had the Jameson manhattan and loved it! The braised onion soup was piping hot and full of flavor on a frigid day like today. We also shared the pow pow chicken and were surprised how much we truly enjoyed it. I got the short rib stroganoff and it was melt in your mouth with amazing flavors. My husband got liver and onions, and he also enjoyed it. We ended the meal with a homemade Oreo cheesecake. What a special lunch. Both of our servers were so kind and wonderful. We will remember this meal for a long time to come.

July 9, 2025 - Two for late lunch. We were travelling many miles and need a break and to relax. Came off the highway after about 40 minutes of web, Yelp, Google, Open Table etc searching in the car. Spoiler Alert: WORTH the diversion and as others say an unexpected diamond in the rough. Top of the list ----- SERVICE was exceptional by Allison!!!!! The zone defense kitchen and bus folks were pleasant and nice!!!! We also pleasantly and quickly seated and the host/hostess kindly said goodbye and asked about our experience. This was dining like in the 60s and 70s!!!!! My wife got the French Onion Soup $11 that was actually vegetarian made with a mushroom base.... she loved it!!! Found out the chef or owner is a vegan??? I was disappointed no vegan or vegetarian options on the menu listed??? 9/10 She got the Hawaiian Salad $15 and added 4 Shrimp $14. The salad was fantastic and varied and fresh - REALLY awesome. 10/10 She said the shrimp were good, but at $3.50 a piece - that's crazy. 2/10 for price. I went with the Large Farm Salad which might sound boring and plain - it was anything but!!! A picture here somewhere. Cucumbers, onions, carrots, spinach and mixed greens, tomatoes and a lovely dressing on the side that was tasty and light. 10/10 my only quip is I would have LOVED to had a bean (garbanzo, black, kidney, anything) option to add. I tipped more generously than usual as the service and people here were exceptional. A great dining experience.

This place is a jewel; a must stop and try in Ocala! The ambiance gives off late 1990's bistros. The service was impeccable! Ask for Alyson, she was amazing! She gave great recommendations and described the dishes in delicious detail! My wife ordered the lobster Mac and cheese. With a hint of truffle oil. The truffle oil was a finishing note on the palate, not the star! The star was the lobster!!!! Wow amazing! I had the Delmonico steaks. The char flavor was exquisite! We are definitely coming back here for future meals!

Above and beyond service with exceptional quality food. Enjoyed the Shrimp and Gritts along with a salmon salad. Delicious. Restaurant is nice and themed around onions. Very modern inside with a cute atmosphere

Revisit this spot on our way back from Gainesville. Order some chicken parmigiana, coconut shrimp, and lobster bisque. The food is just amazing.

Food good along with service. Never overly loud. They do a brisk business. A little more upscale than most places in Ocala.

I'm wanting a really really stand out awesomefor prime rib. From the reviews I'll get here eventually. Been to horse and hound....any other suggestions or is this the one?

The prime rib here is $25 and is only served Fri. & Sat. May I suggest Iron Skillet in Reddick where it is AYCA prime rib on Sundays for $15?

Then we split a grilled chicken, mushroom and Swiss sandwich either curly fries. Boy, glad we did I could not finish my half because I was too full, but everything tasted good. We had to see what we were missing, so we made the 45 minute trek to this unpretentious building on 36th Avenue in Ocala. The parking lot was full and we had to park way in the back on sand. That was a great sign! The restaurant is much bigger inside than it looks from the outside and with all the cars it didn't feel crowded as we expected. We were greeted and seated immediately. The place was clean and the menu extensive. I ordered the burger and my husband had a fish sandwich. The portion of the fish that was served was huge, but not cooked long enough in my husband's opinion. The burger was more bun than meat. Also, it had an odd taste which I compared to hamburgers served in a school cafeteria. Maybe because the burgers had been so hyped I was just bound to be disappointed. The coleslaw was to die for and I could've eaten just a bowl of that! We tried it and are glad, but it is definitely not worth the trip or the hype.

We meant to try this place out before after a recommendation from a couple at church. However, they told us we should go to the Train Station (thought he was referring to the train station in Yellowstone). Of course we looked for the Train Station on Yelp but didn't find one...so we gave up that search. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly and promptly got seated and presented the menu. This place seems more spacious and more updated than the other one we've been to. We both had coffee and water and my wife proceeded to order the Sunrise Skillet with home fries and wheat toast and I tried their CFS Railway. Service was quick and our breakfast was served in no time. My wife liked her breakfast, commenting how it was fresh, flavorful and good portions...she took home some leftovers since she couldn't finish it. My breakfast was equally good, with fluffy eggs and well prepared breaded cubed steak (not ground meat like I've tried at other places). I would've preferred the potatoes to be crispier. All in all, a good breakfast place we'd likely come back to. Fast and friendly service with clean and fresh ambience as well as decent value. Breakfast for 2 with tip came out to just under $39.
