    1/2 Poached Pear Salad
    Dawn W.

Rolls they brought out were delightful, but I wanted to keep eating them. The Wellington wontons were delicious and cooked nicely, my salad was a huge disappointment because the dressing itself wasn't much in flavor or quantity, not very much of the goat cheese, and the best part of the whole thing was the small poached pear in the middle, and my husband said his salmon was overdone. I do very much regret, not trying their onion soup because I would imagine they would've knocked that out of the park or at least I would hope so.

From the moment we walked in the door, to saying goodbye, this restaurant delivered an amazing experience. The tables had cute Christmas candles and I thought the place was very charming and cozy. We made reservations, but because it was around 2 pm, it wasn't necessary. I had the top shelf margarita and it was excellent. My hubby had the Jameson manhattan and loved it! The braised onion soup was piping hot and full of flavor on a frigid day like today. We also shared the pow pow chicken and were surprised how much we truly enjoyed it. I got the short rib stroganoff and it was melt in your mouth with amazing flavors. My husband got liver and onions, and he also enjoyed it. We ended the meal with a homemade Oreo cheesecake. What a special lunch. Both of our servers were so kind and wonderful. We will remember this meal for a long time to come.

July 9, 2025 - Two for late lunch. We were travelling many miles and need a break and to relax. Came off the highway after about 40 minutes of web, Yelp, Google, Open Table etc searching in the car. Spoiler Alert: WORTH the diversion and as others say an unexpected diamond in the rough. Top of the list ----- SERVICE was exceptional by Allison!!!!! The zone defense kitchen and bus folks were pleasant and nice!!!! We also pleasantly and quickly seated and the host/hostess kindly said goodbye and asked about our experience. This was dining like in the 60s and 70s!!!!! My wife got the French Onion Soup $11 that was actually vegetarian made with a mushroom base.... she loved it!!! Found out the chef or owner is a vegan??? I was disappointed no vegan or vegetarian options on the menu listed??? 9/10 She got the Hawaiian Salad $15 and added 4 Shrimp $14. The salad was fantastic and varied and fresh - REALLY awesome. 10/10 She said the shrimp were good, but at $3.50 a piece - that's crazy. 2/10 for price. I went with the Large Farm Salad which might sound boring and plain - it was anything but!!! A picture here somewhere. Cucumbers, onions, carrots, spinach and mixed greens, tomatoes and a lovely dressing on the side that was tasty and light. 10/10 my only quip is I would have LOVED to had a bean (garbanzo, black, kidney, anything) option to add. I tipped more generously than usual as the service and people here were exceptional. A great dining experience.

This place is a jewel; a must stop and try in Ocala! The ambiance gives off late 1990's bistros. The service was impeccable! Ask for Alyson, she was amazing! She gave great recommendations and described the dishes in delicious detail! My wife ordered the lobster Mac and cheese. With a hint of truffle oil. The truffle oil was a finishing note on the palate, not the star! The star was the lobster!!!! Wow amazing! I had the Delmonico steaks. The char flavor was exquisite! We are definitely coming back here for future meals!

Above and beyond service with exceptional quality food. Enjoyed the Shrimp and Gritts along with a salmon salad. Delicious. Restaurant is nice and themed around onions. Very modern inside with a cute atmosphere

I'm wanting a really really stand out awesomefor prime rib. From the reviews I'll get here eventually. Been to horse and hound....any other suggestions or is this the one?

The prime rib here is $25 and is only served Fri. & Sat. May I suggest Iron Skillet in Reddick where it is AYCA prime rib on Sundays for $15?

We were on their bottom floor patio (which was lovely) but I did spy that they have a rooftop patio as well (what's not to love?!?). Everything from the food to the cocktails to the service was exemplary. For my cocktail I got their Old Colonel's Smoking Gun which was their twist on an old fashioned and was delightful. For my entree, I got their salmon entree. It's glazed and comes with a size of their crispy brussels and cheesy grits. The brussels were delish and their cheesy grits rank among some of the best I've had with sharp cheddar giving them the perfect flavor kick. The atmosphere was so pleasant. It's definitely the sort of spot you'll feel tempted to linger. Get to it!

First off the restaurant has an amazing view being that it's a two story in the downtown Ocala area it definitely stands out. We sat on the first floor which was super casual and so nice with the breeze. Our waiter (don't remember her name) in addition to the waiter who took over, Pablo were very helpful. For starters, the cocktails. I ordered a spicy guava margarita which was super refreshing and delicious. It has a sweet but slight kick from the jalapeno and my rim was lined with Tajin. I really enjoyed this drink and would get again. For my late lunch, I went with the infamous District burger. This burger is huge! It comes with 2 quarter pound smashburgers, cheese, sweet heat pickles, garlic aioli, and caramelized onions. It was so good - I finally get to see what why it's a standout item. Every part of the burger compliments each other so well, from the juicy patties, the aioli, and sweet pickles. I ordered the chips as my side as I wanted to try them out and wow you can tell they are cooked in house. They're not greasy at all although I did have some burnt/darker chips in my batch. Overall, it was a great experience and service and I look forward to coming back to try out their brunch and other cocktails.

Orders were entered incorrectly, and even after correcting them, they took my husband's plate twice. He had already finished his meal by the time they brought out the missing shrimp. The honey croissants were forgotten after we asked for them. They came out and looked like they were under baked. No one came by to apologize, nothing was adjusted on our bill, and no one checked in to see if we wanted dessert. We only came because we had a gift card, but I can confidently say we won't be returning. Very disappointing experience.

Located in a strip mall anchored by a Roses Discount Store, the place looked dark from the outside and the "Open" sign didn't appear to be lit but we knew they were open because of various Open yard signs in front of the establishment. Upon walking in, we were seated right away and presented the menu. They have daily specials but they didn't have pernil, although they had lechon asado like most of the Cuban/Latin American restaurants we've tried in the area. I ordered the lechon asado which came with yellow rice, fried plantains and red beans. My wife tried their Midnite Cuban sandwich. The lechon asado was flavorful (but of course no crunchy skin) and the yellow rice was good as well. My wife's sandwich, however, was a disappointment! The roast pork had an off taste and was gristly...she had to remove that meat from her sandwich. I tried her roast pork and was thinking of sending it back but my wife just removed all the meat from her sandwich. Perhaps we'll be back but definitely not ordering the Cuban sandwich again. So far, EVERYTHING on the menu sounds delicious and the quandary I found myself in was that I was…read moreso pulled in a million directions on what I wanted to order...I just couldn't decide! We started with Carolina Tater Skins. Absolutely DELICIOUS! Potato skins with Roast Pork, cheese, bacon, green onions, topped with bbq sauce...cup of sour cream in the middle. Didn't last over 3 minutes for the two of us and there were 6 of them! They were THAT delicious. I ordered the Birria Tacos (3) with a side salad and my husband got the Cuban Clucker sandwich with a side of crinkle fries. We spoke to our waitress about how we had wanted to try their food for awhile now but just so happened to find ourselves about 1.3 miles from this location tonight and made the decision to try them tonight! She said they were best known for their wings and just how to get them. So we also ordered 10 wings done just that way. Our meals were brought not too long after we demolished our fabulous appetizer. Wow! Absolutely crazy good! I pounded the three Birria Tacos in record time, in between also demolishing my side salad. My husband said his fries were perfect and he's STILL working on that huge sandwich as I write this! Lol The chicken wings, while they looked delicious, once I tried one, there was a strange fishy taste that came across so strong on the wings that didn't have the sweet and spicy sauce on them, that I couldn't eat them. It actually made me gag. I just couldn't eat them. The waitress asked us how we liked them, so I explained what was wrong with them. She offered to have them remade but we declined. She told the manager to come speak to us about them. He was nice enough, but looked intimidated by us (a 61 and 62 yr old?) and kinda looked anywhere but at me when I was explaining what the problem was with the wings. He was said he'd investigate. Our waitress came back and asked if he spoke with us. I said he did. She asked what he said and I said he told us he'd investigate the problem. She asked us if he said he's take the wings off our bill and I said no. She said she'd take them off anyways because it was a whole 10 wings we didn't eat. I said, thanks but I'm not trying to get free food especially if she gets in trouble for doing that. She said but you didn't even eat them! I said she couldn't have paid ME to eat them! The taste was so gross I actually used a napkin to wipe the taste off my tongue! She laughed. We went ahead and ordered dessert to make up for the wings we sent back and then didn't want after all. The bourbon peach bread pudding turned out to be sold out, so we settled on beignet bites for him and Pecan Pie for myself. Both were EXCELLENT! WE will definitely be back to see our fantastic waitress Anna and to try more of their menu because they have some of the most delicious sounding entrees! All in all, we were impressed by the fantastic food (minus the fishy wings), but everything was fresh, delicious and very decently priced! Great place to bring the family because there's something for everyone here. Chicken tenders to burgers and all kinds of sandwiches, soups, salads, pasta...diversity without being outrageous. Great combos! Can't wait to try something else next visit! You know it was a great meal when your husband turns to you as you're walking to the car together and he says "thank you babe. That was really good!". 'Nuff said?

I also ordered the cheese grits, my boyfriend got a hamburger and fried and seemed to enjoy it. I wish we lived closer but will definitely looking forward to stopping here on a road trip.
