April 2026 I selected Remington's for my mother's birthday because I wanted to give her an evening worthy of the occasion. Celebrating one's mother properly can sometimes be difficult to do, and I wanted everything to feel thoughtful, elegant, and memorable. Steve, the manager, played an important role in making that happen, and I remain sincerely grateful for his kindness and attention to detail. Although our party was only three, we were given a beautiful table in the back that felt private, comfortable, and perfectly suited for the evening. We still enjoyed the lively energy from the nearby bar while having a quieter space of our own to celebrate. It struck the ideal balance between atmosphere and intimacy. Hailey was our primary server and was training George that evening, which meant we benefited from the care of two attentive and friendly servers. Service moved smoothly throughout the night and never felt rushed. The food was, for the most part, delicious, with steaks and dishes that reflected the restaurant's reputation for quality. There was one minor issue with my own steak, which had more butter than I would have preferred, but it was far too small a matter to overshadow the purpose of the night. What mattered most was seeing my mother genuinely happy and enjoying herself. That meant the world to me, and to her as well. I have owned (6) restaurants and have been in the restaurant business for years. This is a lovely place with great potential. I think the food was superior and the staff was great behind the bar. I do love the decor as it is very much equestrian in a classy way. As for the waitstaff in the restaurant, a bit more training on the menu might be advised. When asking for a recommendation I was recited the entire menu. Really??? The host was less than personable. This is the first and usually the last person to greet and thank their customers. Neither occurred when I was there. I have been there three times. I plan on going back again. I hope this time they will have beer for my brother as that is all he drinks. Maybe some local or specialty ones. The noise level was high all three times I was there. That can only be helped by doing something with the acoustics and adding sound dampeners. I look forward to giving them another try. I am hoping the host station will improve as well as the training of the waitstaff. I hope they are around for a long time and I wish them much luck. read more

At a high-end steakhouse where the host stand has a sign that says "director of first impressions," you shouldn't be left standing for five minutes and ignored when you show up on time for your reservation. The female manager was more interested in talking to the young women at the host stand than to us. When it came time to be walked to our table, the hostess said nothing to us but just started walking. How about "this way, please" or "thank you for waiting. Your table is ready." I've never understood the very dark, black-on-black decor but to each his own, I guess. Our waiter was quite flippant and service was slow on this busy Saturday evening. The lobster bisque should have been hot but it wasn't ($16.99 for what amounted to a cup). Both my wife and I ordered the NY Strips. Insisting that we cut into them when served is a sign they are having trouble with their kitchen. This was confirmed by observing the experience of several nearby diners. My steak was medium rare (as ordered), but my wife's got more towards medium (she ordered medium rare) as she got further into it. They were otherwise very good and large and fairly priced. The risotto of the day was plentiful and pretty good, but it lacked the advertised vegetables. The Brussels sprouts were just okay. read more

I dined at Remington's Steakhouse last night for the second time, and while the food itself was excellent, the overall experience fell short--especially given the price point. The seabass I ordered was absolutely delicious, perfectly prepared, and paired wonderfully with the sautéed spinach, which was also very well done. From a culinary standpoint, the kitchen clearly delivers. Unfortunately, the atmosphere significantly detracted from the evening. The noise level in the dining room was overwhelmingly loud--so much so that my friend and I could barely hear each other and had to repeat ourselves constantly throughout the meal. It made conversation difficult and took away from what should have been an enjoyable, relaxed dining experience. Considering how expensive this restaurant is, I found the experience to be disappointing and, ultimately, overpriced. While the food was strong, the unbearable noise level overshadows it. Sadly, after two visits, I'm not sure I'll be returning unless the atmosphere improves. read more

Celebrated Valentines with a 4:30 PM reservation. Good we called ahead since restaurant full when we left. Ambiance upscale. Perfect for a classy dinner date. Not a place for children. Bar in separate area, full with a more casual atmosphere. Mario our awesome server knew we were first timers and offered helpful menu suggestions. We went with the 8 oz Petite Filet Mignons. Excellent choice of additional steak toppings. I highly recommend the Red Wine Demi. Our steaks were cooked perfectly. Taste exceeded expectations. Appetizer of Goat Cheese Brushetta, sides of Fried Brussels Sprouts and Maque Choux (Corn) simply amazing. We had some wine but their specialty cocktails looked wonderful. Too full for dessert so we ended with a cold Foremans Brew and hot Kentucky Coffee. Great way to end a fabulous meal. The wonderful staff worked well together and looked like a good crew. Owner introduced herself after and we said we would be back. Definitely one of Ocala's top tier steakhouses. Glad the restaurant was not located downtown, meaning we had ample parking. read more

We went to Remingtons for the first time on Tuesday evening and it was absolutely fabulous. My husband had the filet mignon, our friend had the cowboy ribeye and I had the NY strip-all were so great! While the food was excellent, the service was spectacular! Luigi was our server and he was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about the menu but also, he was made for being a server. So engaging, he made us feel like family. We will definitely be back and will ask for Luigi! read more

Cindy and her team have created a special place around the corner from the World Equestrian Center. Loved the Old Fashioned Flight. Good bourbon selection - not amazing. Scallops were perfect and the fig habanero sauce was a neat compliment. We went with splitting a Delmonico that was served with some sides of Broccolini, Risotto, and Scalloped potatoes. Finished with the Nightcap coffee. Good service from Luigi. Nice crowd and nice to find the live feed from the Grand Prix in the bar. We'll be back. read more

This is a very good, high-end steakhouse. In-season they are *very* busy: means reservations can be tough and ican be v. noisy depending on where you're seated. The bar area is v. popular and can be quite busy. The interior is "rustic elegant". The service is excellent. The food is great! We've had super good ribeyes, salads, soups and recently I had short ribs that were a daily special that had to be from another planet! Unbelievably delicious - and double what I could possibly finish! We've had 1 disappointing experience last time we were there and I tried messaging the business to tell them about it but got no feedback, so I'll mention it here, which is what I was trying to avoid.... not a huge issue, but we were taking guests here to continue showing them what Ocala had to offer. I don't often have hamburgers - which I LOVE! - for healthy diet reasons, so I'm pretty picky when I do decide to have 1. I figured Remingtons should be able to put out 1 of the best and ordered mine "medium: warm and pink inside, please"; the wife ordered her pork chop "medium-rare: pink inside is ok". My burger came out very well done - essentially inedible for my taste - and her chop arrived medium-well and pretty dry. The definition of "disappointment" is "unmet expectations" and this definitely qualified. Our guests were thrilled with their food so I elected to not return our meals to be refired as it would have been awkward. This is definitely 1 of the best restaurants you'll find in the Ocala area and we'll definitely be returning. I highly recommend! read more

What an exceptional gem. From the service to the food,decor, and ambience! We walked in and were a few minutes late. They were friendly greeting us and happy we arrived. Our waiter Kevin was phenomenal! The attention to detail he gave us was incredible. Thank you Kevin for making our night so perfect. about the food..... We ordered the wedge salad, and an arugula salad, it was crisp, cold, flavorful and delicious. We ordered the filet (11 ounce) it was cooked perfect and although it came sliced to split it was not dry. The sea bass was crisp in the outside, moist and flavorful inside...it melt like butter! The cauliflower had garbanzos and peppers a combination I have never had before, it was great! The French fries were crisp and crunchy. For dessert we had the crème brûlée (MUST ORDER) it was out of control! Everything is homemade! Unfortunately we didn't get to meet the chef but heard all about him from Cindy, the owner. Proprietor Cindy runs a gem of a dining establishment. Our most recent visit was our best yet. 3 of us decided to make a full meal strictly from the Appetizer selections. We shared 7 of the generously proportioned appetizers listed, every one of them a delectable treat. A special shout out to mixologist Kacey for preparing the perfect French Martini. Our server Haley went above and beyond to ensure our dinner was memorable. Professional, friendly and always there for us at just the right time. She will certainly be requested and recommended. Ocala has been surprising me more and more every time we visit for horse shows. We decided to venture off WEC property a few weeks ago and boy, am I glad we did! Remingtons was off the charts good!! Had the lobster escargot app and filet for entree. Stirrups had won me over but they close early (to me after a long day of horse showing) so we could not eat and remingtons let us come eat about 10 min before closing time. They cook their steaks on an open flame and mine was cooked to perfection. Hard to do on an open flame with a 6oz filet. Ambiance was what you would expect for a steakhouse of this caliber. About a 5-7 min drive down the street from WEC too. Very very easy. Do yourself a favor and try this if you are staying at WEC and miss the 8pm kitchen cutoffs or if the yellow pony is so crowded you will never get a seat :) read more

Food was decent and the wait staff was proficient. But for a high $end steak house the atmosphere left much to be desired. The noise level is distracting as are the customers. The bar area is right off the dinning room without true separation. This bar is not for those having a cocktail while waiting for their table. These folks are there for the duration, but at least they are dressed. The dinner crowd includes children, mom and dad in shorts and a tee shirt out for an occasion. And Oh yes, the lighting is brash and without focus. I apologize to the establishment and their clientele for what may be acceptable in Ocala but wouldn't survive in NYC. read more

Remingtons is a great new restaurant. They opened at the prime of Ocala's busy season and dealt with the inevitable demand surprisingly well. I'm a vegetarian and there were many things I really enjoyed here. Bread- fresh daily; Caesar salad- interesting with the addition of grapes, but nevertheless enjoyable; goat cheese bruschetta- my favorite thing on the menu thus far! Excellent flavor and a good sweet & savory dish; cauliflower au gratin- good but could be cheesier and lacked seasoning; asparagus- typical steakhouse asparagus, nothing to write home about; mushroom risotto- they rave about the risotto being a specialty but I found it to be average. My parents love the bison burger and my friends have raved about the steaks. Their drink are great and reasonably priced. I particularly enjoy dining at the bar. Great Negronis and shout out to Brant! The restaurant is dark in atmosphere, typical for a steakhouse but they took it to an extreme that I don't really prefer. The service has been average a couple of times and fabulous when we had Jay! He's a phenomenal waiter! The only thing that really stands out as a con to me is their contempt towards adapting to customers needs. We were met with hostile remarks upon requesting basic ingredients like salt, pepper and olive oil. Hopefully they can handle small requests like this with more patience moving forward. Although there have been complaints regarding pricing here, I believe you truly get what you pay for and Remingtons is no exception. Visiting from NC and it was recommended that we eat here from a couple that we met in Ocala. They mentioned it was fairly new and a great place to eat. They weren't wrong! The place had a nice upscale vibe that you wouldn't expect from the outside. We were greeted by the Director of First Impressions and seated promptly. We chose the bar as we normally do. We were greeted there by Lucy and she was VERY knowledgeable. She gave us some recommendations and we chose to start with the Goat Cheese bruschetta. We were both very impressed!! For our main we decided on the Cowboy Ribeye, Scalloped Potatoes, & Brussels. All done very well. They even let us pick out choice of steak knife. The Ribeye was cooked a perfect medium and seasoned just right. You could still taste the meat and weren't over-powered by seasoning. The Brussels were tender, crisp, and flavorful and the scalloped potatoes had just the right amount of cheese. By far this was my favorite dining experience while visiting Ocala. If you're trying to decide over Remington's or Stirrups at the WEC I HIGHLY recommend you take the extra 7 minute drive to Remington's. You'll be glad you did. For the prices, food and service should be a lot better. Lobster bisque was unappetizing - way too thick and salty, and very little lobster. The steaks were lukewarm at best, poor quality, weren't cooked to the right preferences (medium rare came out medium well) and we had to send one back because it was way overcooked and somehow cold. For a steakhouse, there should be more attention paid to the steaks all around, especially for the prices. Chilean sea bass was good, and so was the french onion soup. However, that's not enough for a repeat visit. The service was friendly, but spotty. We had to ask for lemons for our iced tea repeatedly before they came out and our water wasn't refilled regularly. And again, for the type of restaurant they're aiming to be, these are simple service related items. At the end of the day, there are better restaurants at a similar price point as Remingtons. read more

This new steakhouse is right next door to Juniper General store. You walk into to find beautiful dark blue walls, plush tan leather chairs and a lot to dark wood. We were welcomed immediately and sat within 5 minutes of our reservation time. TIP: You really need to make a reservation!!!! Our waiter, Edgar, ran through the wine menu and the dinner menu for us. He was very polite, attentive but also easy going making us feel at home. We had the lobster escargot first and it was sweet, succulent and tender. It was served with toast points to make sure that sauce did not go to waste. As the main dish, we split a 16 oz Delmonico steak, the fried mushrooms/onions and gouda scalloped potatoes. The steak was perfectly cooked medium rare and can be easily cut with the butter knife. The batter on the mushrooms and onions was light and crispy. The gouda scalloped potatoes were soft, cheesy with a nice baked crust on them. We chose the Elouen Pinot Noir which was just delicious. This is the perfect place to come for a romantic night out. They do not have a private room but can accommodate parties up to 12 people. They are closed on Monday's. I look forward to trying it again very soon. read more

When I went for my first time I ended up getting food poisoning! I have never written a review or even been the type to, but the problem I had along with getting food poisoning was the way the situation was handled. I got the surf and turf and live on the water so I love seafood! I was the only one at my table with it... I got home later that night and had a headache starting leading into me getting extremely sick and even missing my schooling and lessons in the morning because I was there for the horseshow! I called the steakhouse the day after I ate there and talked to the owner "Cindy" and she told me she would call me later or tmrw being Sunday because she needs to speak with the chef! I didn't receive a call until Thursday... I was calling every day and sometimes even 2 times! I feel this situation should be a top priority! It was so unprofessional and I don't know any restaurant that wouldn't get this handled ASAP! I understand your busy and your restaurant is aswell, but I would FEEL HORRIBLE to find out one of my customers got food poisoning or even felt upset about it a situation. Cindy didn't seem to care. I worked extremely hard to go to WEC to show and let alone I spent $100 on my meal that I didn't even get to enjoy because tmi "it came back up". I asked for a refund or atleast half back and all I got was a $25 gift card, but why would I want to go back there! It was as if she thought I was lying. We had dinner at Remington's this past Friday, March 8 and it was wonderful! We had the pork belly appetizer, we both got the Delmonico ribeye (cooked perfectly X2!), we shared the Caesar salad, scalloped potatoes, and creme brûlée for dessert. Melinda (I think?) was our server. Hubby had a whiskey sour and said it's one of the best he's ever had and I had a glass of the Caymus from the by the glass wine menu. My only constructive criticism is that this was where I selected to go for my birthday dinner, made the reservation, and when asked if it was for a special occasion put "birthday". Neither the hostess nor the server even mentioned it. Why bother to even ask? Regardless, had a great dinner and we will definitely be back and encourage everyone to give Remington's a try! Two reasons for 5 stars - food & service. The menu was great, as a fan of the show Yellowstone - our table found the drink menu names pretty spot on! The wedge salad was good, after asking for additional blue cheese dressing it was great! The bacon used on the salad was top notch! Other guests at the table got filets and were very happy with the way they were cooked. Side dishes we enjoyed were: lobster mac n cheese, fries, asparagus and mashed potatoes. Our server Cameron made a big impression, he knew all the items on the menu backwards and forwards. This was our first visit here; we dined with friends. Saturday around 5:30, was not very busy yet. We were bit early for our reservation, but were quickly seated. Very nice, classy atmosphere. We ordered drinks and appetizers. The lobster bisque was stellar! My friend and I split the Brie with berry compote, which was very tasty; however, it's only served with two bread crisps, so proportions are a bit off. We each had a steak: filet mignon, delmonico or ribeye. Each were c perfectly cooked and seasoned. We shared the fried Brussels sprouts with jalapeños, which is a star side dish! Out of this world! We also shared scalloped potatoes which were yummy as well. Overall, it was an outstanding meal. Our server, Chrissy was fantastic and friendly. Now, the drawback - we were seated next to the bar area, which quickly became crowded and VERY, VERY NOISY. We spoke with the manager who responded- yes, we've heard that; some panels have been ordered to help with this issue. That being said, we could hardly hear our conversation at our table. We opted to have coffee and dessert at home rather than hang out at the restaurant. My thoughts - give them time to correct this; because you don't just go to eat a great meal, you go to also spend time and enjoy talking with family or friends. read more

Great food and atmosphere. Our server Jordyn was no where near the quality of the restaurant. She gave us the impression she was doing us a favor by waiting on us. Never told us that with three couples the restaurant policy was for one check with an automatic 20% gratuity. When we complained about the one check and went to the manager she brought back the checks broken out and said we will never break out the checks again and stormed off. It's a bad policy of one check by the store but combined with the service attitude it won't matter we won't be back. read more

So a 3.5. The food is good. We ordered the wedge salad which was huge and very tasty. For entrees my husband ordered the cowboy ribeye and I ordered the petite filet. For a side, we had the mushrooms and onions. There were no complaints about the food as the steaks were cooked perfectly. For dessert, we ordered the dessert flight of drinks and the peanut butter torte. Once again-the food was good. For a high end restaurant, they really need to step up their game and make everyone feel welcomed. We watched as the GM asked tables around us how everything was. Each time she skipped our table. When we were seated, we weren't given bread but had to ask. My husband's glass was empty as he waited for refills. Beverage refill is Server 101. I had no knife to check my steak out when it was served to me and waited awkwardly as the server looked to see if my steak was correctly cooked. Little things matter at a more expensive restaurant. My wife and I have now tried Remington twice, and both times have been awful. As a local farrier, I like to support local businesses, but this experience has been disappointing. The first time, I gave them the benefit of the doubt since they had just opened. I ordered the pork chop, which was tough as nails and overcooked. I expected things to improve, but tonight's meal was not even worth paying for. I was served salmon that smelled overly fishy, and the taste was even worse. If you know anything about salmon, it should never smell or taste fishy. My wife ordered a petite filet, which was cooked well but had no flavor at all--just heavy butter, seemingly meant to add flavor, but it didn't help. We regularly dine at places like Mark's, Capital Grille, Ruth's Chris, and we're happy to pay for quality. Unfortunately, Remington is overpriced with terrible food quality. Honestly, I've had better meals from food trucks. As a local farrier, I speak with many local horse owners, and they share my opinion: the food here is terrible and not worth the price. read more

Prices reflect the quality of the food and its fabulous preparation. Staff is knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Ambiance is pleasant but can be loud when crowded at the bar. Very nice drink menu with some great selections reasonably priced. Menu is a la cart with larger than average servings that are shareable. My wife and I shared the filet mignon, crab cakes, hearts of palm salad, mashed potatoes with black garlic, sautéed spinach and mushrooms, fresh baked rolls and some wonderful wine. We had been looking forward to trying Remington's but waited until after the grand opening rush. Sadly, it did not live up to the hype. We went 30 minutes before our reservation to have a drink and the bar was packed. It is a very poor setup with waitstaff passing through the bar to deliver food. With all of their experience, the owner/manager should have thought out the traffic patterns in their new space. But we were seated promptly at reservation time and our server, Jen, was delightful. What restaurant doesn't have unsweetened iced tea???? Remington's doesn't.... But Jen brewed two glasses to accommodate my order. The lobster bisque was very flavorful but lukewarm. Our two filets were cooked perfectly. Our sides were very disappointing- both the cauliflower and scalloped potatoes lacked flavor, were undercooked and were watery. They need to have a baked potato on the menu! The best part of the meal was the peanut butter torte - it was excellent! The front dining room where we sat was very noisy. The bar/back dining room really lacked atmosphere- just four walls painted dark blue. Would we go back? Nope, not for those prices! Restaurant owners and managers should realize that for high prices, customers expect great food, great service and a welcoming atmosphere...
