We recently visited Elevation 89 at the Ocala airport and overall had a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant has a clean dining room with calming colors and décor that create a relaxed atmosphere. One of the highlights is the excellent view of the runway, where you can watch small airplanes take off and land while enjoying your meal. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was good overall. We both ordered rice bowls with stir-fried vegetables and our choice of protein--one with chicken and the other with shrimp. The flavors were enjoyable; however, both bowls seemed noticeably watery. We're not sure if the extra liquid came from the vegetables or the rice preparation, but it was enough to be noticeable and took away from the overall enjoyment of the dish. Menu prices appear to range from around $10 into the $40s, offering options for a variety of budgets. One disappointment was that Elevation 89 is listed online, including on web searches and Yelp, as offering a Sunday Brunch. We specifically chose this location because we meet once a month to try a new brunch spot. Unfortunately, upon arrival we learned there is no Sunday Brunch currently being offered. We were disappointed by the inaccurate information and hope the online listings are updated so future guests can plan accordingly. I'm just being real. For the amount money spent, this place was NOT worth it. My wife and I finally tried this place after being in Ocala for 4 years and it was pretty underwhelming The Wagyu beef sliders had barely any flavor and the fries with the sauce were decent but not out of this world. 6/10 The Churrasco Steak and Shrimp was seasoned very well but that bed of rice legit tasted like wet socks. 6.5/10 The Osso Bucco... to be fair I should've read the description because I thought it was braised beef and so the pork really wasn't doing it for me. But the gravy and risotto were really yummy and the pork shank was really meaty but honestly i couldn't finish it because the pork flavor after a while was off putting. 6/10 Overall the service was decent, the ambiance was dope, but I wouldn't waste my time ever going back. read more

Eaten here several times. The staff are pleasant. I love being able to watch the runway activity: sort of a show with a good meal. Everything I've had at Elevation has been great and the prices fair, well as fair for what you get. Food tastes fresh. I'd rather go to a locally owned restaurant like Elevation that cooks your food there, than a chain restaurant where food is prepared in a factory and then reheated. Recently saw they were now serving Breaded Pork Loin sandwiches and had those when visiting friends in Indiana and loved it, so had to try it. Elevation did it great! Though I neglected to ask for more yellow mustard and pickles. I've had two of their mixed drinks and they're too good. One is all I can handle, but they taste so good, you want more. read more

My wife and I stopped by for lunch after reading glowing posts about Elevation 89 in our neighborhood Facebook page. Located at the Ocala airport, the place, adorned with aviation themed wall art is perfect for aviation enthusiasts. We were seated promptly by the window with a view of the flight line upon entering. Presented with the menu, my wife focused in on the Virgin Island burger served with blackened cream cheese, fried banana peppers and sweet Thai chili. It came with French fries. I was eyeing the grouper sandwich and asked our server for her recommendation on how she liked the fish prepared. She recommended fried so that's how I ordered it. My wife loved her burger. She was delighted by how all the flavors complemented each other. It was well prepared. My dish was good, with fresh and flaky grouper...but I thought having it grilled may have been better. We were both entertained by planes landing and taking off during our meal. I can see how kids of all ages who marvel at planes would love dining in this place. Very good food and free "entertainment" to boot! Lunch for 2 came out to just under $43 with tip. We'll be back. read more

Deb was looking for something unique for lunch an came upon this place in the Ovala airport. Free parking to go to the restaurant. Small private airport but this restaurant is really nice. Nice open dining area with views of the runway. Ezra our server was great. Great suggestions and right on for water and food. I had the VIRGIN ISLAND BURGER Seasoned Burger ackened Cream Cheese, Fried Banana Peppers & Thai chili. Delicious. Could have been cooked a little more but the flavors were great. We stopped by on a road trip home from Florida not realizing it was at the general aviation airport. It was a perfect spot for a delicious lunch. Service was fantastic. It looks like a lot of locals go and they have plenty of servers. They have a full bar and a very good menu with lots to choose from. We enjoyed the blackened grouper sandwiches and soup. Stopped in front of the restaurant to let my wife out who is visually and physically impaired....in the process I accidentally locked us out...car running, no employees anywhere, phone in the car. No security was available we were informed by the restaurant staff. Long story short, and more than an hour later we were rescued. Unfortunately when we re entered we were told we lost our reservation. While standing there waiting to see if they could squeeze us in a server walked by with a plate of fish that simply smelled awful and immediately turned us off. Others noticed it with one commenting that it was probably a fermented fish dish. In any event, no seat was forthcoming and we left thinking it was simply an off night altogether and perhaps we'd try another time. For what we did see the room seemed to be a large room overlooking a runway though what you would see seated I can't be certain. It did appear packed and friends of ours recommended it highly. I cannot give a rating for the food having not had the opportunity to provide an opinion. The one star represents the lack of help or security or reasonable accomodations to get help for a customer in need ..and a VEHICLE running in front of an airport restaurant with elderly patrons locked out certainly should be looked into by SOME ONE! read more

We took another couple to this restaurant as a thank you for pet sitting for us. In all we had lobster rolls, chicken tempura, airline chicken, and I had the Osso Bucco. All I can say is that everyone was most satisfied with their meal, me especially. My Osso Bucco couldn't have been better. No way! Presentation, flavor, temperature, you name it. Thumbs up! We are going to Elevation 89 today after church. Very much looking forward to it. Today my wife had the Flying Goat Burger with Mac and cheese. The burger lived up to all these positive reviews I've read on Yelp. And the Mac and cheese was superb. It seems like the kitchen cooks with a minimum amount of salt. I'm good with that as long as they use some salt. Sometimes when a dish is cooked with NO salt it cannot be salted enough afterwards. An example is grits. read more

Yet another hidden gem in Ocala! I had the bison burger with a Caesar salad on the side. My wife had the wagu sliders with a side of fries. We were in the mood for burgers! Absolutely delicious! Served a $70 bottle of wine that had cork dry n broken, warm to touch, sour to taste. Later saw that wine bottles were stored on high shelf near ceiling with lights shining on top of them. No wonder the wine had gone bad. Tender Pork Osso Buco served over pasty thick gooey polenta. Hardly appetizing. Lamb dish with mostly bone, little meat. Small Salad was good. We had the pleasure of eating here when visiting friends and I would recommend it!! Our waitress Ro was wonderful she was friendly attentive just really nice! I would recommend you ask for her! My husband and I had the skirt steak and shrimp over rice was delicious the steak was tender and the shrimp were cooked perfect. Our friend had the Oso Buco she said it was delicious and our other friend had the airport chicken which also was delicious. I had the turtle cheese cake for desert that was fantastic. The cheese cake came recommended by Ro our waitress and she was right on. The dining room is open and you can see the planes from the window. It's Date Night! We chose Elevation 89 at the Ocala Airport on a Friday night. The sea scallops and toast points were FAB-U-LOUS! So very good! My wife got the flying goat burger. Her favorite burger anywhere. I selected the Cajun Snapper entree and it was delicious. But what totally made our outing was the spectacular service we received from Ashley. We LOVE Elevation 89! We discovered it shortly before we moved to Ocala and couldn't believe we were going to an airport restaurant! But it's actually a small regional airport and this is the only business there. The food has always been consistently v good with a nicely varied menu. We enjoy the service tho others have said they've been frustrated at times. The place can get very busy, as it's very popular, so we're able to be patient. Everything we've ever had here has been excellent and we always try to sit at Ryan's table as he's exceptionally engaging and pleasant. One side of the restaurant has large windows overlooking the tarmac so if you can get a table near the window that makes it that much more pleasant. There's a full bar and folks hang out there so the place can get a bit loud at times but I've never found it particularly distracting. Highly recommend. read more

It's a Tuesday night and we just wanted some good food for our anniversary, it being a weeknight there wasn't anything fancy, just good food and good uninterrupted conversation between my husband and I. Guess what we got here?! FANTASTIC FOOD and great conversation! I liked our server. Only problem we had was he never refilled my water and he brought the check before we could ask for dessert. I guess we didn't look like we have money so he didn't pay as much attention to us. However he was all over the table next to us where the lady and husband acted as though they were rolling in it. Seating and ambiance: modern simple seating with views to the landing strip. 3. Service: We were treated like family by Aaron, he was a fast and provided excelent customer service., a big plus. 4. Food: I had lamb portrhouse, which has grilled lamb steaks topped with a roasted garlic demi-glaze served with mushroom risotto and grilled asparagus. Grilled asparagus were cooked aldente to perfection, the mushroom risotto was rich in flavor serving as the compliment for the grilled lamb steaks which were thick, and juicy, the only cons is that the three pieces contained large amounts of bones, muscles and tendon (sinew) but othewise the meat I was able to eat tasted good, well seasoned and well cooked. Seeing the mixed reviews I was hesitant to go in. I took my parents here for Father's Day and we came around 1pm. We called ahead to make sure they had seating and they said they would put us down but no guarantees. We were sat within 2 min and our server Aaron was great. He was so attentive and kept filling out waters and popping in to see how our meal was. I subbed my fries that came with my burger with the soup of the day which was roasted red pepper and Gouda soup. It came out hot and was delicious. It was so comforting on a cloudy day. Tasted similar to a tomato soup but with more rustic flavor. I would have put some fresh Parmesan on top. Normally red based soups give me reflux but this one thankfully did not. I also woulve done some garlic crostini or half of a garlic bread on the side for dipping. For my main course I ordered the captain which is a burger with blue cheese , jam and grilled onions. It was amazing and normally I don't like blue cheese but it added a great flavor profile to the burger. The onions were grilled perfectly not too soggy or hard , just perfect glaze on them. I did not like the bread since it was too soft and fell apart on one side so it was flaking off as I ate it. Overall it was all great. This FBO is beautiful, and the restaurant was a pleasant surprise on our first visit. The runway is visible almost anywhere you sit. The service was a little slow, but there were only 3 servers. We were waited on by the bartender, and he was great. The halibut with seafood risotto hit the spot for a really rich, tasty seafood dish. I do wish it was served with a small salad or fresh vegetable to balance it out. Cocktails are okay. I'm not sure mine was actually shaken or stirred together. My grouper sandwich was cold fries were hot meaning it was sitting for awhile. Service was so slow and it wasn't even busy. This is the third time I've gone there . Friday night my daughter and I went to Elevation 89, got there a bit after 5 and were surprised to see several tables already occupied or reserved. I had had the chicken nachos a few weeks ago, and they were delicious, we decided to split an order. I have to say, it was like we were in a different restaurant, but still good. There was a lot less chips, lettuce and tomatoes. I had really appreciated the freshness of the first one, and did miss it on this one!
