In search of a Saturday afternoon hamburger, and since the Hooters in Gainesville closed, a friend and I made the trip down I-75 to Ocala. The restaurant itself wasn't overly busy on a Saturday around noon and we could easily get a table. Jerianna, our waitress, was bubbly and enthusiastic. She brought us samples of different sauces to try as we looked through the menu. We ultimately both ordered one of the BYOB burgers with curly fries and split an order of fried pickles. The burgers were thick, juicy, and it was great to customize with whatever cheese and toppings we desired. The curly fries were enhanced when dipped in the side sauces. The fried pickles were perfectly crispy with a great-tasting tangy remoulade to dip. Washed down with a Sam Adams, the meal and entire experience was pretty perfect. Without the Hooters in Gainesville anymore, Ocala will become the new go-to. read more

It's Christmas Day and we were looking for a place to grab a QUICK dinner. Keyword: Quick We entered the restaurant and we sat within 5 mins in a booth as requested and then started the waiting game. Looking around the restaurant was only about half full. Not too busy for the long wait time to even get a server to our table to greet us. About 10-15 mins had passed before a server came up and ask if we had been greeted yet, and then decided she would take our order. It took another 10 mins before we got our beverages, which came in styrofoam cup because apparently they had ran out of clean cups. Crazy how a restaurant can run out of cups with a restaurant half empty, I can only imagine if the restaurant had been full. Anyway, it took about another 30 mins about after that to get one order of wings and fries. We were practically there for a good hour and a half and it only took us 10 mins to eat. Overall, the service was really great. The server was nice and apologetic but didn't make up for the long wait. TLDR:I would've given them less stars but they were kind and the food was good. 0 stars! I have always loved hooters, menu got better and food was really good. Until I Came today 12-31-25 and ordered boneless wings with medium buffalo sauce and buffalo shrimp. Fries were good but the wings looked like they had no sauce on them. Waitress told us company went bankrupt and someone bought out hooters and changed the freakin sauces to butter based sauce. It's not even a sauce like they used to have. Asked for a side and when I dipped the wing into it it literally melted like butter. Has hardly any flavor. She said they're trying to do a healthier sauce and the new owner of company said their sauce hasn't been right in 20 years. What an absolute joke! Will never go back. It's terrible. Seriously, I go to Hooters for the very best wings in the world. I'm 64 y/o so the beautiful scenery is just exactly that. Every time I went to Myrtle Beach with my 80 plus y/o Mother, her favorite place to eat was the Hooters next to the Bass Pro Shop. When the crusted medium wings come out to you still wet, they are the best tasting wings that I have ever had. Came in to grab a bit to eat on Wednesday, October 1 sat at the bar for over 1/2 hour before even being acknowledged I observed the manager serve two other people and then just stand in the opening to the kitchen. meanwhile, the bartender stayed on the opposite side and kept going to the back area. This was the worst Hooters I have ever ate at. First of all we were informed that this was a corporate store but was changing to a franchisee soon. That should had been a red flag. This food is not Hooters good. The sauce was not Hooters sauce, the Curley fries were not at all Hooters style. The Buffalo shrimp were no where like what I am use to in Springhill, New Port Richey or Clearwater. I am not sure what's going on here but I almost feel like patrons are being tricked. Tonight I had possibly the WORST Philly cheesesteak in my life. This was utterly depressing like whomever made it just gave up at the beginning, not caring at all how the sandwich turned out. The steak wasn't seasoned! Not even a little. No flavor at all; not a beefy flavor, no salt, no pepper. The cheese (I ordered extra) was barely there, it too was flavorless. The cheese only covered half of the sandwich. This was not double cheese. The roll was a cold, untoasted stale supermarket hoagie roll. It was laid over the meat, cheese and onions which equaled about a little more than a half cup of filling for the sandwich and was unable to stretch the meat to cover at least 1/3 of the roll. The sandwich was $17 with the extra cheese. This was not even a $10 cheesesteak, let alone $17! I hate being ripped off by overpriced, less than mediocre restaurants but that seems to be the norm here in Ocala. Also I got the chocolate mousse cake for almost $10 and it was a tiny little slice. Also clearly a grocery store frozen boxed cake. How dare you, Hooters! Totally unacceptable. read more

We had the boneless wings and an order of the curly fries. It was much better than the last time I had been there. It's Hooters!!! What do you want me to say? I'm from Dunedin/Clearwater, yes the original Hooters location. That one just feels like the only Hooters to me. Old school menus withe the "$100 wing dinner", bathroom "John J. Crapper" old grey wood everywhere. But with all that said this is a great Hooters. We had a very un-Hooter-like experience here. First, I'm pretty sure my husband has food poisoning from the "smoked" wings he had last night. Our waitress was very quiet and unenthusiastic. It took an hour to get food for a table of 6, all just wings and a burger, and the restaurant was pretty dead. Our waitress didn't check in with us often enough or consistently. After all finishing our food and sitting around a good 30 minutes or so, I had to ask another waitress if she could ask our waitress for the check. The vibe in there was very strange... My uncle doesn't like pickles at all, let alone a fried sliced pickle...I convinced him to try one and he was hooked; he finished most of them! This dish came out nice and hot and not greasy, so kudos to the person doing it in the kitchen for doing it right! 5/5 Breaded Wings $11.49 came out nice and hot and with the different dipping sauces, made them really enjoyable. I think I'd prefer the breaded wings tossed in the mild sauce, rather than dipping a plain breaded wing in the mild sauce; it's the same similar thing but it just tastes better when the wing's been coated with a thin serving of your go to taste. 3/5 Strawberry Cheesecake $2.99 was a let down in my eyes. I didn't try it, but it was so tiny to have a hefty price tag of 3 bucks attached to it, taste or not taste. 5/5 Service was typical Hooters style and stellar...our server Amanda was great, super sweet and very accommodating, checking in on us the entire night and was never missing at anytime during the evening. We were curious on how times a night the servers get propositioned and asked her, but she told us it wasn't as many times as you'd think. I guess most guys already know their chances on walking out of Hooters with a phone number are slim to none. Wow I must say after reviewing these reviews I said I have to see for my self our server Amanda was incredibly kind and good at her job as upselling and making sure our drinks never got below half apps came out fast and hott was unsure about the food choice and Amanda was fast to suggest her choice . I have ordered a multiple times from bite squad from Hooters. They have forgotten items from my order MULTIPLE times. The bite squad driver is not allowed to check at this time because of the corona virus. One of the times they forgot the beer I ordered f (12 pack) One time they forgot the drink with the kids meal. They also gave me the chicken tacos with a very small amount on them. The place was not crowded, and yet my server totally ignored me when I sat down. 15 minutes went by, she passed by several times, not saying "I'll be right with you". Servers name was karina very sweet girl, but management was horrible, the manager on duty (Mr clean) was very rude and aggressive when I asked about the price of my beer, they run a 3 dollar blue moon special all day everyday so when I got my tab back I was shocked to see 9 dollars per beer, I was confused so I asked the manager for help and clarification, his response was "how else are they supposed to make money and all restaurants do that" not helpful at all once I showed I was unhappy with that answer Mr clean got very aggressive with me and was very rude. We had a great experience dining at Hooters! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and pointed out some specials that were not on the menu. We had delicious wings that were piping hot and served with two sauces on the side as we could not agree. We had a half order of roasted oysters that were so delicious and fried pickles that came out piping hot with a delicious dipping sauce.
