Great service: We arrived with a party of 4...The Staff tended to us like we where part of the family always there we we needed anything from a Refill to extra BlueCheese for our wings. Appetizers: We shared Fried Pickles which were perfectly cooked without being to greasy, and excellent dipping sauce, and an order of Pretzels and Cheese which definitely hit the spot I had the 10 Boneless wings with Daytona Hot Sauce, extra Blue Cheese dressing. I was not disappointed. Nice and tender chicken not overly cooked nor saturated with grease. STAFF: I looked around and noticed that ALL the staff kept busy, either taking orders, refiling drinks or cleaning tables, you didn't see any of them goofing off. We went here when we moved about 2 years ago and were upset that their sauce was not the sauce we grew up on. Then today as we were running errands it was either Hooters or Red Robin and we found a Groupon for Hooters so we said ok let's try it again and our 4 year old was starving! After ordering enough food for an army my husband and my daughter and I drove over and picked up our food. With the times like they are right now where you can only pick up food my husband went and grabbed the food and a really sweet girl named Rachel helped him out and was so nice. We got home and sat down and found out we got all our food plus two slices of cheesecake on the house! went to Hooters in Ocala Florida. Been going to this location for A few years since they relocated. Have usually had decent experiences but this time (1/5/2024) it was possibly the worst experience I've had at "ANY" restaurant ever! From the moment my family and I walked in it seemed morbid! There were about eight televisions that were completely shut off. We specifically went to watch the Miami Heat game at 9 PM. I asked the very nice young lady at the entrance if she can, please put the game on at the nearest TV to where we would be seated. She did get the staff to put the channel on. unfortunately, after about 15 minutes it went blank and when we asked what happened, they stated it was a blocked channel and they could not play the game. Huge bummer as that's exactly what we went there for. Ordered two beers. One came with a cracked glass. That was also chipped at the top. They replaced it with a hot beer. Temperature inside the restaurant was easily nearing 80°. Extremely hot! waited roughly 15 minutes before anyone came to our table. finally got food. About 20 minutes later. Order 30 wings total. I would say at least half were extremely cold. French fries were not cooked fully. Was told the cheese was being warmed up and didn't receive for 15 minutes. just a horrible experience from beginning to end. I still tipped 20% on a $68 bill. Meal wasn't worth $15 in my opinion. management here definitely needs a complete overhaul. Will be reaching out to corporate tomorrow morning to express my major concerns read more

We love Hooters, and were happy to hear there was one in Ocala, so a day trip brought us there. Very disappointed in the quality of their wings. Very little sauce as compared to all the other Hooters we've been to, so very bland hot wings. We tried to order a skinny Rita, but the waitress said it wasn't available. After she took our alternative drink orders, we found it on the menu. Don't know if she was new, but she should know the menu. My biggest disappointment was there was no notice on the front door regarding wearing masks. We wore ours, but very few customers wore them when they came in. The Covid pandemic is currently escalating. Very disappointed. The wait staff wore them, but a number of the other employees did not, including a guy who worked the floor. The only posted sign was on the back door. The emergency exit. The door they use for pickup orders, where no one enters but staff. We will not be back to this Hooters. read more

Also some old dude was listening to his own radio at the bar, I think a French station, weird and obnoxious. I've enjoyed Hooters for many years, but I feel each year the standards drop a little lower and the price gets a little higher. I've been here before and got great service, but Veronica behind the bar was extremely sub-par. Not once did she check in to see if I needed anything or if my meal was okay, or even a simple refill. Thankfully the manager was there to get the food from the kitchen because she had been called 3 other times to grab food from the kitchen. Instead she spent more time talking to some guy on the other side of the bar instead of serving all of her customers. I'm assuming she doesn't care and her tip reflects her service. Warning if you are someone that gets food delivered from hooters... Food was cold and they refried the wings. I ordered lemon pepper and roasted wings, curly fries and a slice of keylime pie. The lemon pepper were originally a different flavor and then REFRIED and seasoned. You can tell by the color and the taste. The curly fries were flat out OLD and cold. They were not even sweating on the Styrofoam. At first I thought it was the delivery driver that took too long, but once I actually tried to eat this, I realized it was not only the driver but the store as well. When I called and spoke to the manager, he told me to contact the delivery company., because they make food fresh to order. If you have ever eaten an old fry...you know the difference between old and cold vs just cold. read more

I love Hooters. I love their artery stopping, cardiac stint inducing Mild Chicken Wings. Battered wings in melted butter. The brilliance! My ball and chain has an extensive collection of Hooter's shirts from all around the country - it was what I would get him whenever I would have to travel for work or pleasure. I am what one could call a Hooter's Connisseur! Rumor has it that Hooters has been going through an internal struggle since it's found passed away and there is a fight between his estranged wife and children. I guess that's why I give this Hooters 1 more star than a FAIL sticker. We went with a gift certificate given to me by a co-worker as a thank you for working his shift on a holiday - thus allowing his family to go on vacation... And I really wish I could get my money back. I ordered the boneless wings, which I never do - but the Ranch dressing is included with boneless wings, where if you order them bone-in, you have to pay $1 or more extra. Being on a tight budget, and after blowing that budget for Christmas, I was counting pennies. I got 9, count them, 9 boneless chicken wings. This is 1 less than the 10 wings (bone-in) for the price. Not only that, but they were over-cooked to hard and just disgusting looking. I asked for an exchange to the regular wings from the manager. My request was granted. The bone-in wings came out dry, over cooked, over hard, and generally disgusting (but at least there were 10). The fries came out cold. My son's chicken finger plate was the best looking bunch around. I complained to the manager - who's excuse was that he was running late and didn't check the fryer oil before they all started cooking. I got charged full price for everything, plus extra for the dressings. The service was beyond disappointing... And the food was even more so. UGH. read more

I have been to this Hooters a half a dozen times, and have always enjoyed the service as well as the food. The wings are wonderful and I always have enjoyed the buffalo chicken salad. But today I ordered the wrong item. I had the Philly cheese steak. Without a doubt, the worse cheesesteak I have ever had. Having lived in the Philly suburbs for 30 years, I have eaten my share of cheesesteaks. After 10 years in Ocala, I have become used to restaurants putting onions and peppers on them. But today I saw something I have never seen. Hooters uses ground beef, not sliced rib eye, for their cheesesteaks. I will continue to go back, but I will not order another cheesesteak, and neither should you. read more

Went at about 5pm and sat at the bar, was greeted and right off the bat I felt like I was not wanted there. Ordered food and it was wrong, manager corrected it and was not offered napkins or anything else by the bartender. My friend had arrived and joined me at the bar and this bartender was conversation with another bartender while talking with my friend and had made a few anti white comments saying "you need to remove the whiteness out of your voice" to my black friend which was racist in itself. After a few minutes the bartender had said that white people are oppressors and that she was a big BLM supporter. This was the last draw and I told the managers and left the establishment. Some from our party were already st the hostess stand and asked for a table for about 10 (we weren't sure exactly how many). When we arrived, we advised it may be more like 15. The one hostess (Short girl, short black hair) was really nice. But another hostess, Lynzi, walked up and as the nice hostess was about to tell her the number would be 15- Lynzi rolled her eyes and said "apparently they're going to be 15 instead of 10 now". She then proceeded to say "I am about to have a panic attack just thinking about it". And rolled her eyes again. We then went to say something (we were going to say we could just sit at different tables on the patio) when Lynzi proceeded to put HER HAND UP TO SHUSH ME and then went to talk to the nice hostess. At this point, completely disrespected, I said "if our party is going to be a problem, we can take our business elsewhere". To which Lynzi looked up at me, annoyed as ever, snapped "No" and then went back to looking at her clip board. She continued with the attitude by slamming things around, sighing and waking away annoyed. I requested to speak with a manager, who came to the table. I DID not catch his name- but he was supposedly the "GM". (younger looking white make with a light colored beard) He listened to me and then the first thing out of his mouth was a defense for the hostess, something about big parties. IF YOU , AS A HOSTESS, CANNOT HANDLE YOUR JOB- FIND A NEW ONE! Or at least go complain in the BACK! Not in front of your customers and especially the ones you are talking about! He then apologized for it but didn't seem to give a sh*t about how his hostess just treated guests. Guests who 1. Spent a decent amount of $ in there because there were about 25 of us from the same group scattered and 2. Who waited over an hour for their food. Our servers Autumn and Autumn were great. Although I did order Buffalo Chicken dip for the table, that never came out. They offered to start making it towards the end of our meal but I declined, as we were getting ready to leave. The manager never came over and addressed this issue. Luckily, I live in Tampa and have not had these issues with our local Hooters. I hope you guys get your act together and fire that hostess. Came to this location and decided to try it, regardless of the other reviews. Overall, our experience was just okay. Our waitress was very nice and kept up on making sure we were okay. However, the food itself wasn't great. The nachos came out more like a taco salad and there wasn't much sauce on the platter we got. I had read that they just opened, so I'm not sure if you want to factor that in. But I was not impressed by the food at all. read more

Up until last night, we loved going to Hooter's for the food and the fantastic service. I really hope it was just an off night. We asked to sit outside, the table was wet from the rain earlier in the day. The hostess actually ASKED if we wanted the table wiped off. It took 15 minutes to get our drinks, tap beer. When the waitress came out to serve them, she didn't even ask if we were ready to order, she started to walk away. Normally i get the Daytona wings and big dipper fries, but I thought i would change it up and other a burger. BIG MISTAKE! My husband had the fish and chips. The burger was the size of a slider and i had about a dozen fries on the plate, soaking in grease from the burger when my husband asked for malt vinegar, the waitress couldn't be bothered to open the new bottle and told my husband he would have to open it. Last but not least, the waitress couldn't be bothered to actually come outside to see if we were ok, all she did was open the door, yell at us and go back in. It will be a long time before I give them another chance. My only regret was I did not get the manager when I was there. read more

The waitress kept saying sorry about the service and said that the manager took off one of the diners for the bad service but I looked at the receipt and that was not even done? Came in hopeful for a good experience but was a bit disappointed. Staff are very nice and friendly but after 9 days, they need a lot of work. Ordered the bacon-wrapped wings with some curly fries...and also had the fried pickles as a starter. Fried pickles were incredible and with a beer. Just Awesome! My order of wings came out but the were not done correctly. Ordered them with the sauce on the side and no sauce came out. Manager Jack came by asking how was the food and told him my issue. He made the recommendation to have them tossed in the sauce which turned out to be better and sent them back and his recommendation was spot on correct. Although they cooked them a bit more to allow the sauce to carmelize which caused some of my wings to become a bit dry. Must admit besides my server, Brittany, were very helpful. Don't get me wrong. Everyone especially Brittany were very nice and polite but when my food was brought out, there was no extra plate for my bones or wipes were brought out which is essential when eating food covered in a sticky sauce with your fingers. Am I asking too much? Furthermore, when I was looking for my server to take my check for payment and possibly some wipes, it took about ten minutes till she came by because she was off in a corner counting her tips. As to the whole experience, it was less than a Luke-warm feeling. I payed close to $30.00 for 10 of their bacon wrapped wings and curly fries which ended up having less than half consumed because they got cold waiting for the wings to come back. You don't go to hooters for just the food. You go to hooters for an experience of feeling welcome. Take a lesson from the girl who brought me my beer and didn't just deliver my beer but made an attempt to engage her guest by simply asking if she had pronounced yueleng correctly and even insisted on hearing my pronunciation. That is establishing a rapport. If all you're going to do is deliver food...maybe I should stay at home and pay less. I'm not placing this review to upset or kill a business. I am only hoping that the staff will read this and make improvements to make my next experience more than "less than lukewarm " Every customer, even the lowly party of one, is a potential returning customer who may even recommend other potential first time customers. read more

I wanted to come to this new location before it goes out of business, but I must say that so far I'm impressed. Service has been excellent, though I had to wait for my utensils for a few minutes and I didn't get my Cole slaw with my meal. No wings for me. I decided to try the fish and chips, as it is a good dish for comparison purposes. Three medium sized whitefish fillets were perfectly breaded and cooked. The tartar sauce was great with a hint of dill. The curly fries were also perfect. I wish that Cole slaw as a side was not a measly ramekin, but that seems common nowadays. Cole slaw was okay and generic. A very large domestic draft is $5, which is reasonable to me. My main complaint with any new restaurant in this part of Florida is that they need an outside bar. We live here to be outside, and those places with outside bars seem to be the places to go in this town. Will I come back? Yes. Often, probably not. I have been a regular patron at Hooters (Ocala) for over a year. When I first started frequenting the establishment I was treated with kindness and respect. The past six months of attending the restaurant I have been treated horribly. I don't understand how the managers continue to support the conduct and attitudes of the bartenders/waitresses. A customer should never feel like it is their fault when food comes out wrong. I have been cursed and told never to come back to the restaurant. I hope to see this improve, in the future. read more
