Our burgers had the consistency of charred smashed hockey pucks, absolutely awful. We had breakfast here this weekend and we had a great experience. The restaurant was clean, had plenty of parking, it was a little difficult to get into the parking lot from the direction that we were coming, and we had to make a U-turn, but that's not a big deal. The decor has a relaxed, country vibe. My son and I enjoyed chocolate milk and my husband had coffee. I got scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage, and home fries with ranch. Everything was cooked well and tasted great. I love their sausage patties and their biscuits are fresh and fluffy. Our order came our fast, accurate, and hot. After being seated I waited about 12 minutes before the server took my order. She seemed a bit busy so I didn't mind. I didn't even mind her not so nice attitude till almost 20 minutes later when I was still waiting for my food and the table that was sat 7 minutes after me was already served their food. When my food did arrive it was alright. When I was almost finished eating my server asked if I needed anything and when I said a refill she cocked her head to the said and said sure, as if it was an inconvenience that she was even waiting for me. That was the last time she came to the table. I finished my food and waited about 20 minutes while she walked back and forth helping her other four tables. Finally I got up and had to find her up front to get my bill and she said "oh, were you in the back?" As if she didn't recognize that she was my server. The women's restroom reeked of urine and the floors were sticky and dirty. The toilet was not acceptably clean and it was 9 am. We went in (party of 3) and waited to be seated, not a single hello, no be with you in a moment.. nothing but employees looking dead at us and walking away. as always a group of wait staff standing around talking about things that shouldn't be within ear shot of the guests, people not knowing what to do, and when others trying to help them instead of saying thank you, they get an attitude. I ordered 2 MultiGrain hotcakes, 2 eggs & English Breakfast Tea... only $6.68 b/c my server, April, suggested a less expensive version of what I chose to order. These hotcakes, made with Flax & Sunflower seeds, are excellent, and the eggs, perfect. Easy access off Hwy 40, and lots of spaces in their large parking lot. The only drawback is the level of air coming through the vents. Bring a jacket & scarf, if you want to keep warm. Really good food for a restaurant chain. If I could I would only give this a 3.5 stars but alas, I cannot. This is not to diminish the taste and quality of this water. the crispness is a 3/5 and the overall taste is a 4/5. The holding for the water is a nice touch to the aesthetic of this country style food joint, Mason Jars. The refills of my water took longer than preferred but when it did get here it was already ice cold. (Very Favorable). The ice is a firm 6/10. Crystal clear and extremely refreshing. No one ordered breakfast, though, instead opting for lunch/dinner dishes. We had one kids cheeseburger, one steak burger, one bacon cheeseburger and one chicken fried steak dinner. They didn't have any banana nut bread because a cook had not showed up for work (second day in a row, according to our waitress), so apparently we got three day-old cinnamon instead. I stopped at Bob Evans on the way home to South Carolina from Ft. Myers, Florida. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich with two sides. My sides were fries and the mac and cheese. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The sandwich was good, the chicken breast was tender and juicy, the bacon was crispy and the bun was nicely toasted. The mac and cheese was just that macaroni and cheese, but it was what I expected it to be. It was very cheesy and had a good flavor to it. My 2.5 rating is for the fries, I had a rotten potato in my fries and bit into it. As anyone knows when there is a rotten potato you KNOW IT! A cross between a Cracker Barrell and a Perkins with the same cheesy themed store attached. Typical breakfast combos. Good service. Our waitress was a sweet outgoing gal.
