    WOODFIRE GRILLED ASPARAGUS

This is a really beautiful, upscale vegan option in San Francisco near Fort Mason. I took my mother for Mother's Day. I realized I had not added seating accommodation to my reservation and tried to call, but no one answered. When we arrived, the hostess told us we would not be able to sit in any of the currently empty booths because reservations were coming in later. We were seated at a table off the dining space near the kitchen, my mom was a little too chilly and the booth didn't have enough neck support. I expressed to the host that though I was sorry I had forgotten to add accommodation, that this was just not the way to handle the problem. I was able to speak to the manager, who had been outside taking orders and was clearly working very hard that day. (Her name is quite uncommon so I'm just going to call her M, but I really appreciate your help!) She asked me what my concern was, and I told her, at which point she asked me to wait nearby while she figured out if she could rearrange some tables for us. The bartender was incredibly kind and served me while I waited, and distracted me from imminent tears by sharing intricate details about each drink he was making. I learned do they have a myriad of health oriented cocktails, with ingredients like turmeric, ginger, and aloe liqueur. The manager returned and said that she had already seated my mother in a new space and escorted me to the table, which allowed me to relax and enjoy the meal. At the beginning of the menu, they list the ingredients that are currently in season, and at the back of the menu, there is a color wheel, telling you the benefits of the colors of food. (Purple foods can assist with memory and brain function!). We ordered the asparagus, which was in season, spicy cucumber, and the Aji grill for two. The tofu that came with the grill for two was my favorite thing that we ate. I think you can judge a vegan / vegetarian restaurant by their treatment of tofu. Perfectly seasoned with a crispy outside and I would come back just for this. The cauliflower steak was also pretty tasty. The cocktails are excellent, we tried the BLACKPINK and my mother tried the espressotini and we were really happy with both. I don't know how popular their bar scene is, but I imagine it would be a nice way to meet other vegan and vegetarian folks over light bites. Our waiter Daniel made sure to give us the Mother's Day special dessert the restaurant had created, which was an avocado Grenache with fresh berries. If the experience had started with less stress, this review would be five stars, but I'm very grateful to the staff for doing what they could to correct it and ensure that we had a great Mother's Day! I would love to visit again and update my review :)

Hearty, flavorful vegan dishes and consistently amazing service make this spot a go-to. Our waiter last Tuesday night was especially accommodating--shoutout to her for making the experience even better. The restaurant wasn't too busy, so we were seated right away. The space strikes a nice balance between cozy and versatile, with soft mood lighting, high-top seating, booths, and smaller tables that are perfect for a more intimate dinner. I ordered the daal soup since I wanted something light, but it ended up being incredibly satisfying and filling. And the mocktails are a standout--I've tried nearly the entire menu and would definitely recommend them, especially if you're not drinking.

I was browsing Yelp, and Wildseed popped up in my feed, which reminded me I never got around to reviewing it, oopsies. Wildseed has been on my radar since early 2020 when I was still vegan/vegetarian. While I now follow a flexitarian diet, I still largely eat plant-based and always appreciate a good veg meal. My best friend and I visited Wildseed for dinner a few months after I moved to San Francisco. Even though we went on a week night, the Cow Hollow and Marina area was popping, no surprise, so I legit spent an hour finding parking. Never again haha. Now I only take public transit or rideshare. Since it took me so long to find parking, my friend checked in first and ordered the mezze app plate for us to share. After I was also seated, we ordered a round of drinkies and also got a pizza pie to split. The carbonara pizza was on their spring menu at the time, so we opted for that. Ngl I was not the biggest fan of the mezze platter and don't think I would've chosen it myself, but I do appreciate my friend taking the initiative to get us a lil something in advance. The pizza, however, was bomb, and the cocktail was as good as anywhere else, considering SF commands a high bar when it comes to mixed drinks. I would certainly come again for the pizza, drinks, and vibes. Wildseed definitely stands out as one of the best vegan friendly establishments with immaculate presentation that one-ups many non-vegan restaurants.

LOVE this vegan spot with a fabulous variety of dishes! My friends and I made a reservation here and our service was quick and friendly. We ordered a couple green juices to start, which were freshly squeezed and flavorful. We then family style shared a French toast, carrot lox tartine, and chilaquiles. Portions were good and the food was very flavorful! Did not get flavor fatigue throughout the meal and it felt so close to the real thing (especially love the Justegg alternative). So happy to have been here and will definitely be back!

I've been to Wildseed a few times. It's always a beautiful, upbeat environment. The food is delicious and the drinks are great. Staff is chill. It's on the corner and it's very lively and enjoyable to sit outside and people watch. Will always come back anytime I'm in SF.

I took my family here who were visiting out of town and they enjoyed it! It came highly recommended from friends. Knowing everything on the menu is vegan was a great experience and relief for my sister who is vegetarian. Mushroom zeppole - (10/10) Everyone's favorite dish! Crispy, warm fried mushroom balls paired with an incredibly delicious and refreshing lemon herb aioli. I would go back for this appetizer Masala bowl - (7.5/10) a flavorful bowl with tofu and grains. The bowl felt a little soupy? It was a lot of sauce but could have used a bit more sustenance inside. Orecchiette alla pugliese - (6/10) not bad but not amazing either. Very mid and felt like it was missing some oomph. I wouldn't order this one again personally but my mom did enjoy this one. I definitely want to try their sister restaurant Rad Radish at some point and compare! Hoping they have the neatball masala there

Masala bowl and mexican corn fritters

I was introduced to Wildseed at a Yelp event and vowed to return in person because my sample of curried chickpea salad was so ridiculously delicious. Not to mention the restaurant itself is beautiful and a vibe in itself. I visited with a friend where we split the corn fritters and each got our own entree. This was plenty of food for the two of us, although we are normally smaller eaters. Wow, those corn fritters though! I would come back just for those. So perfectly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. As an omnivore, Wildseed really encourages me to eat less meat because they make vegan food taste so good. The only sticking point is that the food is a bit pricier than I'd like to pay for vegan food. I cook a lot at home and vegan ingredients just don't merit the price of dining out here, in my mind. I'm reserving Wildseed as more of a casual celebration kind of spot than a go to and I highly recommend everyone check them out at least once!

I tried Wildseed at a Yelp event in Palo Alto and decided to try the San Francisco location. We went during Halloween so it was a fun atmosphere. We started with some drinks. I tried a Bikini Bottom. It had much to be desired...I couldn't taste the alcohol and it had a mild taste. I tasted the other cocktails in the group and we agreed that some could use some sweetener and more flavor. We shared a mezze plate which was delicious and great to share anong 4 people. We also tried a Green Forest Pizza and Peruvian hodo soy tofu skewer. The pizza was tasty and green. I liked the combination of flavors with the arugula. It had an interesting flavor! The Peruvian dish had king trumpet mushrooms, sweet potato, red onion, aji amarillo, shelling bean raguot, soy tzatziki, grilled lemon. I liked the trumpet mushroom which were in large pieces. At first I didn't know what it was. This dish overall seemed really great. We enjoyed our dishes and the burger seemed nice as well. I think we left with full bellies and the staff were nice. I think I would opt for other dishes other than the pizza. The Peruvian dish was filling and had plenty of protein too.

I'm always amazed by how delicious vegan or vegetarian restaurants can be. Ordered fries, mushroom pizza, and a spicy pineapple margarita. Fries were perfect, they had a great crisp to them. They also came with 3 dipping sauces, but the flavors were pretty faint. The mushroom pizza was one of the best I've ever tried. I can't tell if it was the oil used or the caramelized onions that made the mushrooms taste like truffles, but it was certainly a blast of mushrooms if you get this. I didn't care for the drink though. The jalapeno and pineapple gets diluted by the ice so it isn't the most satisfying drink. I'm happy to discover this place and would certainly want to come back to try other items.

Caesar salad, harvest bowl, and cucumber appetizer
    Kaveh H.

This place is super charming and pulls off a sophisticated interior decor and ambitious vegan menu without being pretentious. Despite items like the Caesar salad, having neither anchovy or real Parmesan cheese, at no point do you feel the meal is lacking in flavor or umami. The vegetarian hamburger was excellent with in-house patties have a cucumber salad or could take a little treat. Great service and cocktails to boot. I don't get out the cow Hollow very much, but this restaurant helps define the Neighbourhood in my mind.

This is a pretty sweet vegan spot. We made a lunch reservation and loved the quiet atmosphere and pretty ambiance. Servers were friendly and we got some great recommendations. We tried the mediterranean burger and Curried chickpea tartine and while the burger was okay, lacked good flavor to bring it together and pickled were the only thing pulling it together for the palate, wish some flavorful sauce was added to this as it was dry. Curried chickpea tartine on the other hand was perfectly made and tasted great. We ordered the chocolate cake which came with ice cream and rum sauce and toasted hazelnuts and that was one of the best things I have had in a long time.

First time on Union Street in years. Still decently vibrant. Decided to treat after my chiropractor session. Lunch time Wednesday not too busy Seat indoors by the window. Heirloom tomato salad with falafel. Tomato and corn in season. Decided for health. Salad was delicious, refreshing, loved the dressing since I'm usually just balsamic at home. Falafel soft inside and crunchy outside was a nice complement. Tomatoes but the spot and corn was sweet though I was spilled by great corn on the cob right off the farm this past weekend. Maybe pizza next time. No extras or drinks despite the available choices. Chocolate beet cake as dessert. Great choice for chocolate lovers. Presentation was a failure but tastes awesome. Second choice would have been peach tart. Only one waiter with server help!! Bartender pitched in at one table. Still decent attention

I'm not vegan but I really enjoy this spot! Came here on a Tuesday for a friend's bday dinner. Everything we ordered was delicious! Definitely order the corn fritters and curried cauliflower for the table. And the chocolate cake was hands down the table's favorite dessert.

We ended up seated outdoors beneath one of those industrial heat lamps, which was blasting uncomfortably hot air until our server kindly switched it off at our request. Nothing particularly memorable about the experience, but perfectly adequate for a casual evening out. A solid four out of five stars.

My friend chose cocktails but I forgot which one. We shared the burrata, which was presented with sliced apples & blood orange & regular orange sections with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar & served with toasted baguette slices. It was delicious! I had the mushroom eggs Benedict with a side of bacon with potatoes & it was also delicious! The spinach & variety of mushrooms made it a healthy choice to offset the crispy bacon (4 generous slices too). Service is friendly & helpful. They have a back patio which is uncovered & front parklet for outdoor dining but we opted to sit inside because it was chilly today. The main dining room is sleek & modern with a wall of wine bottles as decor but it also served.

For food, we each got the Urge sliders and the ahi wonton tacos ($8 each). Everything was good! The wonton tacos came with a spicy red sauce that caught me off guard. I usually expect more of a chipotle sauce vibe, but it was still tasty. The service was great and we were checked in on multiple times. We sat in the patio area. Cute with a fireplace.

Definitely try the tuna tataki, which comes out sizzling hot with crispy rice and fresh fish. Try the toro cakes for sure, their classed up version of a crispy rice spicy tuna except it's crispy rice and toro. Yummy. We also had the Hotsui which is a roll with snow, crab, butter, fish, yellowtail, black pepper, and a sizzling sesame chili oil. The people who work here were also amazing, they know their dishes well and what makes them unique and delicious. Truly felt the love for their food.

Everything was served on time right after another and the table was cleaned almost everytime. We enjoyed our dinner so much. The appetizers were incredible. Poke tacos 5/5: crispy, tasty, buttery, fresh, lots of fish, so yummy Tonkatsu sliders 4/5: really good, the tonkatsu is crispy and juicy and easy to bite. The buns were soft and warm, slightly fluffy Tanpopo 5/5: I'm not a huge fan of spicy tuna but this roll was good tempera style. My bf enjoyed it so much he got a second roll. Lots of sauce and flavor. Dojo 5/5: my favorite roll of the 3 that we tried. I love eel and the bbq eel was so delicious. I love the addition of the crunch. Killed the whole roll to my self Hantui 2/5: I can see how its buttery and melts in your mouth but I felt it wasn't as flavorful to me and I didn't enjoy it as much. It's still really fresh and buttery but also simple. Cookie dough roll 4/5: we had to try!!! Insane with the chocolate chips and the sauces drizzled. I loved the ice cream. The cookie dough is yummy but can be a bit much after a few bites, it's pretty chunky. I enjoyed it though, super sweet!
