Espresso martini
StaciLei T.

When you're first stop is at Wilder, you know you're in for a good night. Came in with a crew for espresso martinis and light apps. We were rolling deep with 9 of us, so luckily we were able to reserve a table for all of us ahead of time. I love an espresso martini and they really know how to do it up here! Topped with gold dusted espresso beans and the perfect amount of depth and sweetness. I flew into San Fran earlier this day and the caffeine boost was exactly what I needed to start off the night strong. For bites we got the baked goat cheese and oysters. These bites were definitely made to share -- it was so easy to put the plates in the middle of the table and have everyone grab what they wanted. I'm still getting over an oyster aversion but loved the goat cheese with some yummy bread. Overall, really loved the vibe of the whole place and even checked out the very clean bathrooms before heading out.

We stopped in for drinks and light bites with a group of nine. This spot was welcoming, bright and the decorations were fun as well. Definitely a cool spot for a drink. Most of us ordered espresso martinis and they were delicious. A great coffee flavor, and no too sweet. I also liked the gold dusted espresso beans they topped the drink with- a very cute touch. The bites were also tasty, and easily shareable. We ended up with the baked goat cheese and some oysters. I'd love to see what this spot looks like later in the evening, but I loved the vibes early on a Tuesday evening. Still bright, not too loud, and we had a perfect large table where we could all talk together.

Wildest Burger w/side caesar salad.

Went for dinner on a Friday around 7 PM and were seated right away, no wait for a table of three. We had originally planned to go elsewhere, but with an hour-long wait there, we ended up at Wilder--and I'm glad we did. I ordered the Wildest Burger, and it was incredible. The combination of the burger patty, mortadella, braised pork belly, and American cheese was spot on. Instead of fries, I opted for a side Caesar salad, which had just the right amount of dressing but could have been a little colder. Service was great, too. Overall, a fantastic experience and will be back!

Good vibes and really friendly staff. They let me and a friend hang out at the bar for nearly 3 hours to get wine buzzed. I'll definitely be back!

Wilder has cute decor and a fun atmosphere! The service was great and the food came quickly. For lunch I had the Chicken Caesar Wrap and it was one of the best I've had in San Francisco! If you're in the area I definitely recommend stopping by.

STEAMED PORK BELLY BUNS, spritz tower, and French Fries

Great place for a weekend happy hour! We got the spritz tower (5 spritz for 45 dollars!). The steamed pork belly buns, fries and wings are great! My friend got their chicken Caesar salad which seemed reliable. I hope they decide to bring back tini Thursdays again- that was an unbeatable deal!

French Fries and a dirty martini

I love coming here for a crisp martini that is accompanied by a side car so you're truly getting bang for your buck. They are fantastic every time, no matter which bartending is crafting them. Now to the food, honestly, I'm not impressed. The French fries were good, don't get me wrong but if you are looking to go somewhere for a meal there are better options in the area. I felt like the food was lacking flavors, we got wings, burrata, ahi taco and more. I wouldn't go back for any of these items, only for the martini.

Crab avocado toast

Came here with a friend for brunch before shopping around the Marina! The food was great in my opinion. My friend and I got the crab avocado toast and the blueberry ricotta pancakes to share! The crab avocado toast was delicious and definitely a highlight for me - a 10/10. The blueberry ricotta pancakes were a bit on the sweeter side, but I still enjoyed it. The fruit was also very fresh - a 8/10. My friend and I also both each got froses, which come in the cutest bear cups! It was a bit more alcoholic than I expected, but still very good! The ambiance is also nice, and the bathrooms as well as the interior are all decorated very beautifully! I really liked the style. The service was also very good as the servers were attentive and checked up on us periodically :) Overall, I would definitely come back again for brunch!

Busy but fun night vibe. We didn't have any food, but we had a few cocktails. We had lemon drop martinis. $12 each. Very yummy

CALAMARI AND BRUSSELS SPROUTS

Oh boy !!! What an amazing experience here !!! Came here to celebrate our friend 35TH birthday and omg !!! The service was beyond incredible!!!Riley was honestly so sweet ! She walked us there the menu, let us know what type of drinks they had! We got the steaks and pork chops ! RECOMMENDING THE STEAK !! It's sooooo good !!! Their appetizers was amazing as well! Definitely the calamari's was our tables favorite !! It was very cozy inside, making the dinner very intimate with our friends ! Definitely would come back !!

Great menu and hands-down the best vibe on Fillmore Street. The craft cocktails are top-notch, and the espresso martinis are still the best in the city. Food is always amazing. It's usually crowded when I'm there--which probably says it all. Fun atmosphere and awesome ambiance. Love this spot!

Amy G.

This is the best place for outdoor drinks because it's not nearly as crowded as Balboa, but has better service and vibes. Their happy hour deals are phenomenal! Highly recommend checking the times and menus and coming with a group of friends. Brunch food was okay, definitely not amazing but the prices are fantastic and the servings are hefty. Not a ton of flavor but can all be elevated with some hot sauce that you can ask for on the side! $5 mimosas (multiple flavors to choose from!) and frose on the weekends from 10a-12p are the best way to kick off a beautiful day - especially the frosé which comes with gummy bears on top.

September drink of the month
Shelby S.

TL;DR Cute spot; great for happy hour My friend found this place on TikTok and recommended that we go. I got there a little early so I went to the bar and got the cocktail of the month. It was happy hour (I think it goes until 6:30 PM on weekends) so the drink was only $9! Talk about throwback pricing The drink was good and the bartender was super nice. During September, it's this gin/passionfruit/piña colada/ginger beer esque drink that's not too sweet but also not too tart. Once my friend got there, we ordered espresso martinis. It was a good martini to me, included the 3 beans, and wasn't too sweet or overly espresso tasting. I wasn't that hungry so I got the happy hour croquet. I didn't know what to except but it was tasty and exceeded my expectations. Id definitely get this again during happy hour! My friend enjoyed her burger Service was great. Playlist was interesting in a good way. I think I overheard that they were using a Spotify playlist but some of the songs were skipped which kind of threw the vibe off at times (but in a very minor way). I walked here but my friend was able to find street parking not too far away. There are great views from this restaurant if you want to see the sunset.

Causwells is one of the restaurants definitely worth exploring. First off, everyone on staff is so incredibly kind, generous, and welcoming, you'll never want to leave. There is a small bar area immediately to your left when you walk into this intimate feeling Restaurant. The bartender makes you feel like you're walking into chairs. Yes he's busy, but he acknowledges customers walking in. Very cool! We were immediately seated, and while the tables are on the smaller side and fairly close to one another, it's still created a very cozy experience. They have a nice menu that with a variety of items. The people seated next to us were enjoying the salmon and it looked absolutely delicious. We went for the burgers, because it's one of their must try items on the menu. It's a Smashburger with gooey cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and this delicious deliciously soft tasty bun. Diners tip: the burger comes with onions, and we both asked for them to be grilled. This is definitely the way to go. The burger is very generous in size, snd delicious. Perfectly seasoned, well-made, and it is that taste sensation that we all crave when eating a burger. The fries were tasty and lightly seasoned, and if you can get through the entire burger and the fries, you get a gold star. I did my usual two bites and I was done and yes, I took the rest home with me. This is a great restaurant and definitely should be on your list of places to try!

Have a small happy hour 3-5pm. Pros: - Food is decent. Burger was a strong 4/5 (though i asked for my onions grilled, and they were sadly raw and difficult to pull off). Salad with sunchokes and citrus was a nice bit of roughage, nice bitterness in the lettuces. - Banana bread 'grilled cheese' is an epiphany. Must try. - Cocktails were fun & IGworthy. - Vibes & location feel so perfect on a sunny afternoon. Cons: - 1 bathroom stall, can only imagine how rough this gets when during a busy dinner service. - Service was friendly, but often multiple asks for the same item, and long waits between check ins. Overall, a decent spot in an area flush with choice. Probably more of a 3.5 than a 4, but well round up here!

On the patio, the heat didn't reach every seat leaving parts of the table chilly. Unfortunately, the food seemed to follow the standard set by the furnshings, and was equally mediocre. The short rib was a touch overcooked, though the mashed potatoes it sat upon were lovely. The mac and cheese had a delicious blend of cheeses, but the pasta was too ordinary. The fried chicken that sat upon it was also plain. Service was the bright spot. Our server was warm, gracious, and patient with our large group. For a big dinner group where seating and service matter most, the restaurant has its advantages. But overall I wouldn't give it a recommendation.

The restaurant closes at 9:30pm, and they were kind enough to let us stay until then! I also enjoyed the ambiance - the interior was quite beautiful, and had many floral decorations, which I enjoyed. For food, I got the hot stone pot, which comes with minced pork and prawns. The dish was not only delicious but also was a large portion size. The rice was crispy on the bottom, and it was nice that the server mixed the dish for me on the table. I would definitely come back to try other dishes! One of my friends got the Pad Kee Mow, and she also very much enjoyed her dish, agreeing that it was delicious and that the noodles were perfectly chewy! I got the French 75 as a drink, and it was very good as well! Overall, I would definitely come back, especially to try the brunch, which I've heard many good things about! Truly a 10/10 experience!

It was so good that it was the first time that we've ever repeated a restaurant for an anniversary date! I was hesitant that the second experience would live up to the first but it totally did and then some! We arrived 1.5 hours early to explore the Presidio - IMO the best and most beautiful part of San Francisco - and walked down to the Golden Gate Bridge and Beach where on an uncharacteristically immaculate, windless, perfectly baby bear (not too hot, not too cold, juuuuuust right) warm day we saw people body boarding and water skimming, stopping by the Korean War Memorial and the National Cemetery where endless rows of Korean War Vets killed in the line of duty are buried. The experience at Dalida is like a good dream that you don't want to end. If you go to Dalida, you might as well make a day out of it...we briefly stopped at Inspiration Point for a quick photo but you could also visit the Walt Disney Museum, the Lucas Film Lobby, the Palace of Fine Arts, take a quick stroll through Lover's Lane, visit the Presidio Officer's Club, or just hang out on the immaculate lawn across the street beforehand. It's housed in these stunning red brick buildings (where soldiers used to live in wartime) that make for some spectacular photos. From the marvelous front of house (shout out bubbly Meredith & kind Jackie) to the excellent service (shout out to Johana or Jo who was like one of the best servers we've ever had to the point of being memorable...perfectly personable without a hint of pretentiousness, warm, accommodating, and really knowledgeable about the finer points of the meal). We were lucky that Top Chef Season 21: Wisconsin 4th place finisher & Co-Head Chef Laura Ozyilmaz happened to be in the kitchen that day as we got her to sign a photo that we took with her last year. (I LOVE TOP CHEF so this was really cool!). She's so unbelievably down to earth friendly and passionate about her food. This would all be nothing without the FOOD. Last year we got the tasting menu and we got it again! It was a perfect blend of it's greatest hits and all new food we haven't tried before. The only things that were repeated from last year were the Fattoush Salad with crispy cucumbers, juicy flavorful heirloom tomatoes (WOW), sweet apricots, parsley, crispy pita croutons, candied walnuts, and tangy pomegranate molasses dressing (so perfectly balanced with amazing texture...a recurring theme throughout the meal) and the memorable Breaking Bread which should be renamed Breaking Bad because I think their Chubby Pita (hands down the best I've ever had) is laced with Walter White's crack or something man b/c it's soooo good. Accompanying the puffy pita is the best and smoothest hummus I've ever had, something called Muhammara which is a delicious, sweet roasted red pepper spread with walnuts, smoked yogurt (another WOW), punchy olives, and refreshing pickles. Welcome snacks included something called Sabzi (very herbacious and floral), an amazing Octopus Panipuri with Mint Chutney, and Mussels stuffed with rice. No misses here...everything is distinctive, exploding with flavor, and delights with various textures. Next came a crunchy Kibbeh with either curried lamb or beef (I forget)...it came with a Tahini sauce with a smiley face dollop of balsamic. =) This was followed up with a delightful carob pasta with pork shoulder...the flavor on this dish wasn't like an explosion per se and was more muted compared to the other dishes but it was hearty and reminded me of a good Italian ragout dish. It was still excellent and a delightful contrast to the rest of the meal. Then came the highlight and star of the show: a completely succulent, I-don't-need-teeth-to-chew pork collar which was impossibly fatty and unctuous and tender, accompanied by this appropriately tangy pomegranate sauce that got back on the flavor bomb.com train. What came with it was a complete surprise. I forget what the Turkish name of the dish was but it was like a Rice Wellington! The fragrant rice inside was flavored with dill and sweet Turkish Apricots and was baked inside this perfectly crunchy, flaky, buttery puff pastry...another WOW dish I've never had before and bet you haven't either! We also ordered a side of the crispy buttery Persian Tahdig rice that we enjoyed so much last year but that didn't come with the tasting menu this year (order it if it's not on the Tasting Menu). Dessert was the unique sticky Turkish Ice Cream that we remembered so fondly from last year and craved again since, a refreshing and not-too-sweet Strawberry Jasmine Sorbet, Sesame "Halva", and a chocolate cake with honeycomb ice cream. Everything on the menu is unique, creative, whimsical, rooted in Chef Sayat's Turkish, Greek, Armenian, Jewish, Persian, and Arabic (!) heritage, flavor bomb.com, and simple food elevated to something memorable.
