Finally made it over to Blackwood in the SF Marina! It's been on my bookmarks for years, but I rarely make it out this way because... let's be real... the parking is horrible. Since it's Gemini season, we came for brunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. Definitely make reservations, y'all! There was already a line when we arrived, so I'm glad I planned ahead. I ordered the Brekkie Tacos, while the table shared the soufflé eggs (one vegetarian and one with shrimp & beef), their famous Million Dollar Bacon, and a side of the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. Everything was so good! I practically inhaled my food since I skipped breakfast and had only coffee beforehand. If you're in the Marina area, I definitely recommend checking this spot out. Great food, great vibes, and most importantly... everyone left happy especially the birthday girl!
The floral ambience makes this such a dreamy brunch spot. The food looks just as good as it tastes. I also enjoyed the Thai bites, which added something different to the menu. The drinks, though, were a bit mid. Unfortunately, we were a little disappointed with the food and experience. We were able to easily make a reservation through Yelp for Saturday brunch. The restaurant was full so it ended being a good idea. The restaurant has a bit of a fancy vibe with pendant lighting and flowers along the walls. We got the Moco Benedict and the Kai Gata w/ Rainbow Potatoes. The rainbow potatoes were crunchy and fluffy on the inside, but unfortunately, some of the pieces were super salty. The poached egg on the benedict was overcooked. Parking is tough to find on the street and expensive so overall, it doesn't seem worth it for us to come back just for this.
Literally everything I ordered was amazing! The spring rolls, beef wraps, and popcorn chicken were all so good. Then came the spicy prawns and vegetables served with perfectly steamed white rice--absolutely delicious. The Blue Wave rum cocktail, beautifully presented in a crystal fish glass, was perfection. The service was on point: friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and creates such a great atmosphere. This place is an absolute must-visit!
Lovely little spot right on Chestnut with indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is exquisite with its Thai fusion options and everything we ordered was delicious! I fear I did not get any photos of the food because we devoured it too quickly. We ordered the Moco Benedict, Tom Yum Shakshuka, Pad See Ew, BW scramble, and Souflegg. Portions are generous, food is colorful & flavorful. Service was great and their cocktails were also a delight. Great spot!
I came back for brunch with a larger group of friends and tried the Marina jook which was great as I needed something warm and comforting. The texture of the congee was luscious with a good amount of sesame oil and chili oil for fragrance. The bacon added a nice crunch and flavor as well. It's definitely a hearty dish and I took half of it home for later but really hit the spot. Our server was great taking different modifications and everything turned out pretty good. I tried a bit of the stone bowl rice and souffle omelet and both were yummy. Overall solid spot for brunch in the Marina but of course with Marina prices.
Solid food and drinks! The pad Thai was flavorful and i appreciated the amount of chicken, tofu and eggs. We also had the pad see you which was delightful! They didn't skimp on the meat for either dish. I will mention that the male staff who sat us wasn't very friendly and a bit standoff-ish. Other than that, i really enjoyed sitting outside, having a drink and a bite to eat while people watching.

Blackwood had very standard thai dishes. Nothing that tasted bad, but I felt like there wasn't anything here that stood out in particular. I would need to order some other menu items to find out about their other types of cuisines, but based on the one I had it felt very average.
Make a reservation if you can, the wait time can be really long. It's kind of small inside but there is a small area for outdoor seating. The portion sizes are pretty decent. I had the Thai Shakshuka it came out hot(how I like it) and they mixed it for me.
We tried the Panang curry with pork, the popcorn chicken, the marina strips, and the 24 hour beef noodle soup. Popcorn chicken: I honestly felt like we could have went without this. It wasn't awful, but the chicken was a little bit dry and I felt like it was mostly breading. Marina Strips: I thought the marina ships were not bad. The beef was very tender, but the flavors were a little too strong. They use Sriracha as one of the main sauces, and it was a bit much for me. Panang Curry: I've got the Panang curry was really good. I opted with pork and everything was cooked perfectly and the flavor was fantastic. It was really good to eat with rice. 24 hour beef noodle soup: I tried a little bit of the 24 hour beef noodle soup. The soup base was very flavorful and the beef was very tender. No complaints. I came for dinner on a Saturday night around 7 PM and didn't have to wait at all. The restaurant itself is very beautiful and decorated with flowers on the walls. The staff were really nice. I would love to come back here for brunch, which is what they are known for.

I picked my dad up from SFO around 10am and he was craving breakfast, so I took it as the perfect opportunity to finally try Blackwood Kitchen--especially since I'd heard such great things and wanted him to enjoy a really good meal. When we walked in, the ambiance immediately stood out. The decor was gorgeous: hanging colorful florals, pink roses styled like pillars, and a beautiful mix of gold and brown tones throughout. It felt elegant, warm, and very inviting--definitely a place that makes you pause and take it all in. It was a weekday morning right before New Year's Eve, so the restaurant was empty when we arrived, which made sense with people likely out of town or at work. Once we sat down, I noticed a standing heater across from us--and quickly understood why. The space was quite cold. Our server mentioned it takes time for the heat to kick in during the mornings, so my dad and I kept our coats on while reviewing the menu. To warm us up, we ordered the Apple Pear Toddy (non-alcoholic) and it was nothing short of amazing--10/10. The burst of pear and apple flavors was perfectly balanced, comforting, and exactly what we needed to shake off the chill. It genuinely warmed us up and set the tone for the rest of the meal. To start, my dad ordered the Marina Beef Strips appetizer and really enjoyed it--9/10. The cucumber paired with the spicy beetroot sauce was flavorful with just the right kick. He's not usually a fan of spicy food, but this dish hit the mark for him. For my entrée, I ordered the chicken and waffles (8/10). The chicken was cooked perfectly and I loved the fresh berries, but the waffle leaned a bit too sweet for my taste. With the candied walnuts, syrup wasn't necessary for me. My dad also ordered the Oscar Benedict, and before even digging in, he appreciated the spinach, pimento, and capers on the side. Once everything came together--the fresh crab meat, hollandaise, and parmesan--he gave it a solid 10/10. Every bite worked beautifully. As we continued eating, more guests started to arrive, and I realized we had come in right at opening. The service was excellent--10/10. Our server checked on us multiple times, answered questions, and even complimented our menu choices, which added a nice touch and made the experience feel more engaging. Overall, this is a great spot for breakfast or brunch. The ambiance and decor alone are a 12/10, and the service was attentive and welcoming. I'd love to come back during a busier rush to see how they handle pressure, but based on this visit, they made a strong impression. One suggestion: warming the restaurant before opening--especially during the winter and rainy season--would greatly improve the guest experience. Other than that, Blackwood Kitchen is definitely worth a visit.
Found this spot on TikTok and it looked Instagram worthy, so my cousin and I headed over on Saturday for a late lunch [def have to go back for brunch]. We decided to share a mimosa flight, spring rolls, and ahi scoops. Even though it wasn't brunch, they still allowed us to order a brunch flight, and they were so polite and helpful throughout 4.8/5. The inside is tiny, but quite stunning, clean, and gives a lot of opportunities for insta-worthy pics 4.9/5, I only wish there had been an actual photo wall. Now to the food. The crispy spring rolls were cooked perfectly, and seasoned well. The clear noodles and veggies were so yummy. I asked for soy sauce because that's what I prefer over sweet sauce, but honestly they needed nothing 4.8/5. The ahi scoops had the best seaweed salad on it that I have EVER had, the wasabi cream on top was the show stopper, and I don't even like wasabi 5/5. Came here with a group of friends for a New Year's Eve dinner! The service was great, as the servers were attentive and checked up on us fairly often. The restaurant closes at 9:30pm, and they were kind enough to let us stay until then! I also enjoyed the ambiance - the interior was quite beautiful, and had many floral decorations, which I enjoyed. For food, I got the hot stone pot, which comes with minced pork and prawns. The dish was not only delicious but also was a large portion size. The rice was crispy on the bottom, and it was nice that the server mixed the dish for me on the table. I would definitely come back to try other dishes! One of my friends got the Pad Kee Mow, and she also very much enjoyed her dish, agreeing that it was delicious and that the noodles were perfectly chewy! I got the French 75 as a drink, and it was very good as well! Overall, I would definitely come back, especially to try the brunch, which I've heard many good things about! Walked in Saturday for brunch around 11:30. The place was pretty packed with people but we were able to grab seats indoor with no wait. They have bottomless mimosas for $26pp. You can choose from orange and raspberry but we asked for a mixture. Everything we ordered was pretty great and the service was quick even though they were busy. I really enjoyed the soufflé eggs, the marina jok moo and the beef noodle soup. I'd say a solid 4/5. There are seats outside and inside and they are dog friendly! The place is cute and I'd recommend coming here for brunch with friends. read more
No reservations on a Sunday morning for 3, we were able to walk in and sit down right away around 11:30am. We asked for recommendations and got what our server said was popular and he would recommend. Overall the service is good, the ambiance is nice, I'm unsure I would come back simply because there are so many other great brunch spots in the city. read more
Came by on a Wednesday for a late brunch. thinterior is beautiful with high ceilings and charming décor, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I was really looking forward to trying their mango salad but was a bit disappointed to learn it's only available at dinner (and it was just 12 p.m.!). I ordered the Thai fried rice with chicken delicious, though a bit heavy on the onions. The chicken and waffles looked great but didn't quite deliver on flavor. The French toast, however, was amazing! As for the millionaire's bacon, I could've skipped that one. read more
I love Blackwood and have for years. It's perfect for guests and larger groups. I haven't had a bad meal here. Brunch is my favorite but also dinner is delicious. Service is very attentive. Love this place! read more

Their Thai spin on shakshuka is absolutely delicious. I take inspiration from theirs when I make it at home. The egg suoffles are also great. They do bottomless mimosas which is fun if you're in the mood and definitely attracts big groups celebrating. read more

We walked in and it was packed. The service was decent but the food took a while to arrive. The food presentation was great. But the egg soufflé was a little bland and we could not taste the basil nor spiciness. The food was decent but not sure if it was worth the $$. read more

I was so excited to try this place. My husband brought back a to go order of a French toast combo. And it would have been good, except they used old/bad bananas. They should have said they didn't have them --- it's extra for the banana and walnut addition and these bananas are gross (see pictures). I had to scrape them off the French toast. I looked at other pictures of the French toast with bananas and this is definitely not their standard, so I'm confused as why they would allow this to go out. What a disappointment. The eggs and bacon were good. read more

Delicious Thai spot! We got their tom yum noodle soup and the green curry. Loved the Thai tea cocktail too! Tom yum noodle soup was perfectly spicy, flavorful, and had a great balance of tart and spice. There was a lot of seafood, they did not hold back! Green curry is always solid, and this place is no exception. I loved the sliced eggplant on the top, it was perfectly golden brown and cooked so nicely. Service is impeccable, our waiter checked in multiple times and even asked if the spice levels we picked were good. It's a cute spot for a date, family dinner, or catchup with friends. read more
I'm giving this place five stars simply because of their mango salad! Absolutely phenomenal lol. Anyway if you're ever in SF and looking for Asian fusion this your place. I tried to do the yelp waitlist and after it kept extended the wait time, I decided to re-check in with the staff and was able to be seated right away. So there's definitely a glitch in the yelp waitlist. Anywho, service was good, food was delicious and the decor was lovely. The interior decor is adorable. Perfect spot for a cute brunch though we did go at dinner time. The popcorn chicken was well flavored and juicy but I did not get the Thai red spice flavor that was advertised, wish there was more of that. The ramyum was delicious though. So perfectly spicy and homey and the shrimp was so tender and well seasoned as well. Also love cabbage so great addition to have that on top. The staff was great they decorated cake for our friends for their birthday. Over all great meal and good company! read more

How is the parking situation there?
Think average SF street parking- not too vast in terms of options but you may get lucky. Parking blocks away is the standard.
It states on their website that they provide delivery, but they are always "unavailable/closed" on their platforms/apps. What's going on?
