I initially did a schedule-ahead large order with 36 items at Dumplings House through DoorDash for delivery to a nearby hotel where my daughter and her friends were celebrating the end of a bachelorette weekend "recovery brunch". The event going off without a hitch was really important, especially because the bride had lost her mom and didn't have her to celebrate this special milestone. I wanted to make sure the order was on time and there were no issues with delivery. I ended up canceling my original order because DoorDash wasn't going to confirm a dasher until the day of the delivery. I re-ordered through DoorDash but this time as a pick up. Again, DoorDash's service was leaving me unsure because they weren't going to send the order through until the pick up day. This was $500 worth of dim sum and I didn't want to take a chance the restaurant didn't receive the order or that they couldn't fulfill it in time. So, I canceled that order as well. I called the restaurant directly. They took my order without hesitation and made me feel at ease that everything will be ready on time. I called again in the morning to confirm my order before leaving for pick up. I couldn't get a hold of anyone, most likely they were busy with their Sunday rush, but they called me back even without me leaving a message! When I arrived my order was ready, The food was hot, packaged so nicely, and everything was clearly prepared with care. I was helped by a very nice staff member who made us feel like we were longtime customers. My daughter and her friends absolutely loved the food! Thank you so much, Dumpling House. Tl;Dr - Reliably delicious take out. Soft, flavorful dumplings paired with solid savory sides. They hit all the notes on every dish and I have had every single one of them. Haven't been in person yet so I am speaking solely off of takeout options. So after getting their food about 4828732 times I think its pretty long overdue I drop the deets on this little gem. This is our "official" dim sum option for weeknight take out. Personal favorites for me are always going to be the salt/pepper wings, the steamed pork buns, the crystal shrimp dumplings, and the scallion pancakes. My wife loves the soup dumplings, the shu mai. We could eat those dishes every week until we die pretty much, they are reliably good and comforting. Particular shout out on the pork buns though because they are just the absolute best consistency from a filling/bun standpoint. Soft, pillowy, they are glorious. I used to get pork buns from Good Mong Kok Bakery, but tbh, this is about 10x better. The soup dumpling also are quite good, I like the spicy ones but the black truffle is defintely worth it for the occasional splurge. They give you the red vinegar for it too which not all places do. Everything one needs to enjoy. I haven't been in person so I couldn't speak for the service or the location, but if you want a spot that delivers on time and often includes items for free (the pork buns are now free for orders over $50), this is great value and just great food. We really enjoyed the crystal shrimp and the shrimp and leek dumplings. They were absolutely delicious. The pan fried pork cabbage dumplings were beautiful, but not nearly as tasty as I am used to. My dinner companion enjoyed the corn dumplings and between going outside. The barbecue pork bao tastes microwaved packaged ones from Costco not a fan. The wine was only $6 and not so good. With tip we did spend about 100 bucks which seems a little much for the meal that we had but it was pretty good. read more

Checked out this small eatery and it exceeded expectations. The garlic string beans, won ton in chili oil, xiao long bao, and seafood dumpling dishes were delicious and visually appealing. Layout in the restaurant was functional given the limited space and nicely decorated. Restrooms were also clean. Although the service was not as expeditious as many other dim sum restaurants, the one and only one customer-facing employee did a remarkable job servicing dine-in customers as well as take-out customers, bussing tables, and handing customer payments. There also appeared to be only one person in the kitchen who prepared all of our dishes to order. Irrespective of the longer than expected wait for our food, we were pleasantly impressed with the high quality of dim sum dishes and the courteous service. Hey munchkins hope you all are well. This is part 4 of the food crawl. After a long day of Bon Nene, Garden Creamery, Tartine, and Killer Queen we end with Dumpling House. We go back to my house and we go play board games and order some dumplings and scallion pancakes. I get the shrimp dumplings and they are awesome. The scallion pancakes were nice and warm as well. I do wish they were a bit more crispy but that's a very minor complaint. All in all it was excellent. A great end to the food crawl. As I ate I thought back on all my memories with "The Professor". We played a lot of board games, went to a lot of restaurants, and had many a boba. You're an amazing friend and I'm really gonna miss you. After a long day at SF Pride, I was craving some comfort food to warm me up since temps were starting to get chilly. I got on the waitlist and was seated as soon as I arrived. It did start to fill up more throughout the evening. To order food & drinks, scan the QR code on the table & select items; more items can be added anytime. Service was decent & staff were friendly. I did notice something a bit off. I saw staff go into the bathroom with gloves on and come out with the same gloves on. I'm hoped they changed out their gloves before prepping food again. 10/10 - Marinated Cucumber: soooooo yummy! I was very excited to try this place out during my SF trip. It was all over IG when I searched places to eat. We started with the cucumbers and they were tasty. Don't expect it to be cut in small pieces or consistent cuts because it looks like hey cop them quick and serve them, but they were good! I was a little disappointed with the black truffle bao since there was no taste of the truffle itself. The spicy wonton was good but I wish there was more spice to it. I still recommend them. The shrimp leek dumplings were the star for me. You're able to actually taste both in every bite. They were by far my favorite. Also, I got the juicy bao and the way they dry it at the bottom is a game changer! Be mindful as you take a bite because they are very Juicy and it can get on your clothes. We came here by mistake as we were supposed to go to another dumpling place but boy, I'm glad we made the mistake. We were seated right away. The staff were nice and the food came out quick. We ordered multiple items to share and were not disappointed. The garlic green beans and the shrimp toasts are a must. The toasts reminds me of the Chinese donuts that my dad used to make stuffed with shrimp inside. The wonton soup was more on the bland side. I did add the soy sauce and chili sauce for more flavor. The stuff as shown are pretty good as they, quite tasty etc., the only draw back is the restaurant is located quite far from where I am and both the portion size and temperature of the truffle xiao long bao (XLB) could be even better than they are now. XLB portion side is smaller than expected for stomach filling purposes. Black truffle is not hot enough for my preference. I guess for consideration, the restaurant did not want unexpected customers to bite into the hot temperature sauce contained within the XLB to burn your tongue. Otherwise, the dishes below are absolutely heavenly and fix my taste buds just right. I particular like the leek shrimp dumpling, they are mouth filling and the chewy, thick dumpling skin is amazing for texture! Lots of leek and shrimps as well. I was led here from TikTok. I checked out the reviews and it seemed pretty decent however... first red flag there was no self serve chili oil. I'm a girly who loves a good chili oil. A saucy girl needs some extra sauce outside of the provided soy sauce and chunky sriracha. Second red flag the servers weren't attentive. They didn't refill our waters or give us spoons for our soup dumplings. They just gave us the food and left us alone. I wanted to call one over since I dropped one of my chopsticks but I got through the meal stabbing at the cucumber. Okay not to be a hater but the food was underwhelming. We got the crispy wontons, regular XLB, marinated cucumber, and the most popular- juicy pork buns. - Juicy Pork Buns- The buns are truly juicy however there wasn't anything spectacular about it. Sorta felt flavorless after eating the marinated cucumber, which also lacked flavor. - Marinated cucumber- It was decent. It tasted fresh and fairly simple. Had a slight sweet and spice to it. -Pork XLB- Same filling as the juicy pork buns. I liked that it came with the classic black vinegar... however it overpowered the XLB if I put a tad bit too much. Our favorites were the shrimp dumplings and the green beans were amazing as well. The mango pudding was incredible!! The restaurant is on the smaller side but doesn't feel small. We got a table within 20 minutes which isn't bad. We will definitely be back again because of the service we had. Dimsum might be my favorite food in the world, so I have pretty high standards for it; Dumpling House delivered! We were impatient for our food to come out, but once it did, we loved everything we got! The wontons in chili oil were so good. The skin was a perfect texture, and the filling felt fresh and flavorful in the sauce. The spicy XLB were the right amount of spicy, and the skin was on the thicker and chewier side. The pan fried bao are probably one of my favorites in SF, with just enough contrast in chewy and crispy texture and a delicious piping hot soup. The shumai were flavorful as well. As you can see from the photos, the food was so good I only remembered to snap a picture after a couple dumplings were eaten. The ambiance is nice and calm. The service was considerate and friendly. My two teen kids and I enjoyed the following: * Marinated cucumber (5/5) - salty, sesame, garlicky, crunchy goodness. We couldn't stop eating these. * Vegetable pot stickers (4/5) - great texture of diced veggies, probably mushrooms and not sure what all else. Would order these again. * Spring rolls (5/5) - perfectly fried rolls of tender veggies with a nice crunch on the outside. No oily flavor or feel to them like some egg rolls get. These are very hot so be careful biting into them. * Wonton w/chili sauce (5/5) - our favorite dish. Not very spicy but perfectly seasoned sauce over tender wontons with just the right amount of pork inside. It's not a large serving but could be enough for two with other items. We shared it but probably each could have eaten an order of it... it was that good. * Xiao long bao, original (3/5) - these were decent but didn't have a lot of flavor on their own. They needed the soy/vinegar sauce for sure and a little chili paste on top. I am gluten free and have a hard time finding Asian cuisine that properly labeled with gluten free options, but this place has a handful of different gluten free steamed dumpling options that were delicious!!!
