Shout out to my favorite American Chinese restaurant for turning 50 - I've been coming here since first moving to the neighborhood in 2004 and it has not only been consistently good, but I don't think they have raised their lunch special pricing over the past 2 decades.
Came for lunch in a Friday. They have lunch specials weekdays. I ordered beef with broccoli but added ginger plus cha fed out w Steamed rice with chow mein. They do give you a cup of soup like hot and sour or egg drop soup. Service is fast. Looks like any chines restaurant but they have lots of tables.
Since we were tight on time, we called in our order before coming in. Upon arrival, our table was set and they had already started bringing out our food with one dish on the table. Good intention but we would've felt better if they waited til we got there before bringing any food out. Overall service was great, staff was nice, value was good.
We celebrated Papa Henry's 70th birthday at his favorite restaurant, Red Jade! They took such good care of us and they gifted him a cake! Great food! Great service! Great ambiance!
New Red Jade on Church Street is officially in my regular rotation. Their lunch special is top tier -- easily one of the best deals in the neighborhood. The portions are generous (it's almost always two meals for me), everything arrives fresh and hot, and the quality never feels like it's being sacrificed for price. That combo is rare. The fried rice? Consistently flavorful and perfectly cooked. The Princess Prawns? Yum yum. Lightly crisp, saucy in the best way, and deeply satisfying. I mostly order delivery and it travels really well, which says a lot. But when I've popped in, it's actually a cute, casual spot to dine in too -- comfortable and low-key. If you're in the area and want a solid, well-priced Chinese lunch that doesn't miss, this is it. Five stars. Will absolutely keep coming back.

I'm a regular at the Red Jade, as I work nearby. Every dish I've tried has been fresh and lovely. The workers remember my face and occasionally give me a complimentary treat. This place is a respite for me from fast paced work. The atmosphere is relaxing, and I feel welcomed. What I can't eat on lunch break, I take home. My kids are always sure to finish it!

You can taste the love that goes into each and every dish. I just tried the black pepper, beef tenderloin chow mein, which isn't even on the new menu yet. Let me tell you... The noodles were cooked to perfection. They weren't soggy at all. They weren't greasy, they were perfect. The entire dish makes me appreciate this place more and more. They're not new. They're just getting a new menu! Come here.

I would definitely recommend this if you want variety! + Mongolian Lamb Lunch Combo (4/5) The rice to meat portion could be improved (I barely finished 50% of the rice-- it's so much!) but the Mongolian lamb is soooo tasty and juicy and tender! The soup that it comes with is DELICIOUS. Service just feels a bit mean sometimes but wasn't expecting too much anyways!
I come by here once a month to order Singapore noodles for lunch togo. I know this restaurant had closed before from health department, lucky I never get sick now reopened food always had be good. And I do like coming for lunch time it come with a cup of soup and a sesame balls . And the staff here very friendly.

Also got water chestnut snow peas (solid), broccoli and beef (solid), a fish dish which I can't remember name of (prefer if it weren't fried but was tasty), pork and string beans (ok, not the most flavorful so probably skip next time), and hot and sour soup (solid). Total was about $100 for 6 dishes. I can't comment on the atmosphere as we got delivery. Ordered through the restaurant's website directly for free delivery which was fast and smooth. Overall would definitely order again and save on list of go-to Chinese food. Photo of complimentary bbq bun and sesame ball only because we already devoured the rest of the food before I had a chance to take pictures.
Lunch. Special. Vibe. I have more time on my hands on weekdays these days and finding a great lunch spot tend to be a challenge. But the "new" Red Jade came to mind. They are known for their reasonably priced lunch specials without breaking the bank. Good selection, fast service, they have you in and out before you know it. Quite taken aback by efficient service. But it's a welcoming spot off Market Street and on Church. Food is great, delicious, good for meet up with a friend, centrally located. After Exploring Castro Last Wednesday April 8,2026 My Friends And I Have Visited New Red Jade Restaurant As I Use To Dine Over Here When I Was Still Working At Gap Inc Corporate Office Back Then For After 7 Years Have Decided To Revisit The Restaurant And I Was So Glad That I Did. As We Entered The Restaurant We Were Escorted To Be Seated And Was Given The Menu Surprisingly All My Favorite Taiwanese Dishes Were Still Available So After Ordering It Only Took 15 To 20 Minutes as Our Orders Arrived One At A Time. I Was Over Joy As Menu Bursting With Great Flavor As Its Savory And Portions Are Great. The Restaurant Ambiance Is Nice Decent And Clean And Very Accomodating. The Staff Is So Friendly And Courteus. Have Attached Photos To See The Different Dishes We Ordered And The Ambiance That The Restaurant Has For Dining Public To See And Experience. read more

Great food, great portions and value. The food was well seasoned and flavored without being overly salty. Delicious char and wok hei on the chow fun, and the string beans and tofu were nicely fried. The eggplant tofu sauce was very umami. Overall would come again, service was great too! read more

I discovered this place recently and now try to come here at least once a week. I first saw their prices and was really surprised how inexpensive this place was. I thought what's the catch? Is the food not good, are the portions small? No! And No! Food is great and the portions are very dangerous. And so many things are complimentary: the soup, tea, water, a fortune cookie and even a sesame ball. The service is always friendly and super efficient. The place is nicely decorated and clean. This place never disappoints. We were craving Dim sum and combo fried rice.The server surprised us with an in house spicy mustard. Surprisingly, it was amazing! My palate was singing "Hallelujah " Also, I love how the servers don't even ask if the food is good. They already know what's up. The fortune cookies could use a little work. The sesame seed dessert balls(Jian Dui) make up for it though. read more

We love ordering delivery from this spot--it's always fast and delicious. We heard they changed their business name and thought things might be different, but it's still the same quick delivery, great prices, and generous portions. They definitely don't skimp on the food. I'm happy this business is still part of our neighborhood. read more

Great lunch specials. Food is pretty good and great value. They actually have 2 different lunch specials menu. The first one is a little cheaper, same set of dishes M-F. Comes with white rice, fried rice or chow mein cost extra. The second one has different set of dishes for each day, M-F. It also comes with broccoli, your choice of white rice, fried rice or chow mein (no extra cost) and a can soda. This is a few dollars more. Both lunches come with soup, I think it's always corn. And both are very filling. Although not on the menu, I would always get a sesame ball and a fortune cookie with my bill. Service is very typical of a Chinese restaurant, quick and to the point. I don't think they are rude as mentioned in some of the reviews. There usually is only 1 person working the tables, so that person is running around trying to handle everything. This place is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the customer service was top notch, the staff are incredibly welcoming, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Every dish we ordered was the definition of flavorful. You can tell they use fresh ingredients and authentic techniques. The balance of spices and textures was spot on--genuinely some of the most delicious food I've had in a long time. Honestly, it's easily one of the best places in the city for Chinese cuisine. The food is excellent. I particularly enjoy the Mongolian lamb with fried rice and the garlic chicken. They have a lunch special every day until four. That includes soup a sticky rice ball. The food here is Always so delicious, the lunch special is always a great deal. From 11am to 4pm, includes soup, main dish, rice and tea. The staff is always pleasant. The eating area is always clean and ambiance mellow. You can't go wrong eating here... read more
