Between a place you would go out to and a neighborhood place. Could not tell if the food was proper Thai in that we did not have my usual. It was nice nevertheless. I would come back.

Came in with a girlfriend for the lunch special. It's a really cute corner place, lots of natural daylight & the decor is simple, yet elegant. I ordered the lunch special tofu pad ma kuer & asked w soft tofu and vegan. Maybe because I asked for the dish to be changed, I found it tasting plain. There was not much flavor in my dish. The waitress was very sweet and I will give this place another try. Wanted to split our bill & were asked to pay with one card. CC accepted

Nice little neighborhood spot. I've been going here for years. It has had its ups and downs the past few years. I think if ownership changed but I don't know for sure. I wouldn't say it is a place you'd drive crosstown to eat at but if you're in NoeValley it's good. Very clean and the inside has been fixed up. I think I they could use more waiters. Only one waiter and the kitchen staff had to help her out. But everyone was friendly. Went for lunch with a pal and the veggie pad Thai and chicken satay were both tasty . Try it if you're looking for a pleasant lunch in Noe.

This place was clean and inviting. We were seated pretty quickly for Saturday dinner service around 6pm. I ordered the pra ram with brown rice, which has been a favorite dish of mine for years. This was my first time trying it here. The veggies were cooked perfectly and the rice came out shaped like a heart. My protein was tofu and I was a little disappointed in the flavor and counted (only) five bites of tofu. The peanut sauce was a light flavor and it could have been bolder. Overall, it was a good experience but not very memorable.

Quaint little spot in the mission~ Food was good and they are able to accommodate big groups of people as long as you have reservation ahead of time. Decor was very cute and servers would regularly come up to us to checkin. They have a good selection of vegetarian items and can make a lot of stuff veg. They also had chips and a little dipping sauce in the beginning but unfortunately they are shrimp chips :( I got pad kee mao which was really good the flavor was def there they didn't come to play with the seasonings! and veggies were charred as well. Food came out relatively fast and they had little tamarind candies on their way out which were so delicious and a perfect mouth refresher. Prices were pretty good but I guess for the portion size it was accurate.

    * date visited: 08.07.2024 * ordered: nuer gra prow service was super attentive and they were very kind, we had a large group and they were able to accommodate us well which was appreciated! the flavors of my dish were really good, i added some extra chili flakes but even without the addition, the dish was dimensional -- spicy, slightly sour, savory. the lemongrass, basil, and bell peppers added a lot of bright elements to the dish. the beef itself was not as tender as i would've hoped for and the portion was quite small for the price.

Love trying new Thai spots and this restaurant was on my list! I really like the pricing and plating but the portions felt a little small. Food also was a bit underwhelming with spice, even after adding chili flakes and paste it did not increase spice much. I like the meat and how they don't charge additional for beef. Tastes good, but was expecting larger portions because it's Thai food and I was still hungry after.

The trout was sooo yum! Not as spicy as what I'd think two pepper signs meant, but did come with fresh jalapeno slices. The sauce perfectly complimented the fried fish, and there were barely any bones at all. Dishes came out fast and we were able to make a reservation for around 15 people. The restaurant isn't huge, but is spacious enough and has comfy seating. There is street parking outside.

Anchor Oyster Bar will likely have a wait all day, most times of day. However, there are lots of shops to stop into nearby where you can still call your name if called.  The reason to stop in? Their cioppino. A hearty, tomato-based seafood stew chocked full of fresh bay seafood like mussels, clams, crab, shrimp, and white fish. It's served hot and with a side of garlic bread. Do yourself a favor and order an extra side or two of garlic bread to sop up all of that delicious soup. We also got the seafood platter to try a variety of oysters and their shrimp cocktail, which were all delicious. Steamed claims in garlic butter was an obvious order. No regrets. Highly recommended for a good, hearty, true San Francisco lunch.

Everybody, servers and cooks, were incredibly helpful and answered all my questions with a smile. I figured if I'm going to an oyster bar, I better try the oysters. I had six meaty, juicy oysters ($22.50) from three different regions. It was fun to compare them from each other. My girlfriend ordered the penne pasta with prawns topped with rich red sauce and melted cheese ($33). It was absolutely delicious and rivals many local Italian restaurants. I also ordered the crab burger and clam chowder ($36). The clam chowder was hot, creamy and not too salty. The burger came with a good amount of crab. It looked like imitation crab, but it wasn't, it was much bolder and heartier. I'd come back here whether for a date night or a solo evening slurping oysters at the bar. The food is pricey, but if you're into quality seafood options beyond fish, I'd definitely recommend it.

Around the downtown area, it sits in it's own restaurant section amongst the busy streets. Regardless of it being busy, a lot of the establishments around are a quick grab and go. Just like Basa Seafood, which means parking isn't an issue! ‍‍ The establishment looks Asian family run and neatly organized. When asking for suggestions or even recommendations amongst the mid size menu, the great cravings and great seafood is well within reach and can't go wrong Affordable reach, I should also mention. While poke isn't cheap, the restaurant provides great portions and doesn't slack on the rice or even the sauce to make the poke amazing! Amazing isn't even an understatement at this point especially too! We got our lucky hands on two things. The spicy salmon can be summed in two words; spicy and light. Thankfully, those words go hand in hand. While the spiciness doesn't overpower the salmon, the salmon itself has such a light and natural taste. Paired with green onions and rice, it makes any poke lover recognize each little taste pallete that it has to offer. Secondly, the fried calamari we had a chance of trying also came with a spicy mayo sauce. The calamari itself? Fried to perfection, still crispy when you bite into itself and together with the sauce, it makes for a perfect savory snack!
